By 3 AM Pacific the Moon opposes Pluto and trines Ceres. Here the emotional consequences of power plays made around you will be clear–and you may find yourself rejecting what appears to be a straight-out grab for control in favor of power acquisition that seems to follow more ‘natural’ roles and could be seen as nurturing. Before you get all ‘Plutonian power bad, Ceres power good!’ consider that these are really two sides of the same coin–and that they’re actually working in concert–so there is no good or bad, just perception, and the way in which one strikes us as a caring despot, while the other seems a little Hitler-y.
A 5 AM quincunx of the Moon to Pallas makes for some smart adjustment ideas and suggestions–please follow them. After this everything goes smoothly, everyone cares, everyone is our friend (it’s that Cancer-kindness thing) until 2 PM PDT, when the Moon square the Saturn/ h.Zeus duo; then it becomes a harsh reality check where we may find our ambitions and desires thrown in our faces in very unflattering form. Don’t take this personally; the agent who criticizes is likely threatened, and agitated by what they may feel they’re missing. This person needs our understanding instead (though that doesn’t mean we have to agree, stick around for more harshness, or cut them a blank check–when we walk away they might realize they have to grow up, too). This is followed at 6 PM by a sextile to Juno, which shows us how our previous Self-control is serving to empower us–a nice way to wrap up the episode.
I’ll be putting out a new newsletter tomorrow, and will be giving away free copies of this one issue over a 24 hour period, starting Monday the 11th. If you’re interested you can leave your name and email in the comments section for this post or for the post for the 11th, and tell me you’re writing for a free copy, which I’ll send on Monday, Pacific time. Thank you, to my readers and especially to my subscribers, for their kind support!

Julie, nobody works harder or brings more thoughtfulness and integrity to astrology — it’s always a pleasure to pay for your newsletters. Especially, you know, as things get weirder! Doesn’t look less weird anytime soon.
Thank you so much, Lainie 🙂 I truly appreciate that~
I agree that things are weird, and probably getting weirder permanently–I’m struggling to get my head around it, so I can eventually address it–it really helps to know there are others out there on the same wavelength.
And I can hardly wait for YOUR trip to Paris!! I’ll be enjoying it vicariously from my living room–Have a wonderful wonderful time!!

Hi Julie. Once again, your interpretations for the transits came alive for me. Do you think the effects of the transits can happen before the exact degree hits? If so, how much in advance?
I’ve been feeling what you’ve written about Moon square the Saturn/ h.Zeus duo for awhile now. Also, today (between 2-3:30pm PT) I (Cancer Sun) was very agitated about the person I am taking care of now (who has Moon in Pisces trine Pluto in Cancer) and it spilled over into how I dealt with someone who has Venus and Mars in Cancer and Moon opp. Pluto. She handled my swift mood change very well (better than usual). She let me vent a bit – when she usually has no time to listen to me – and I felt better after we joked about it. Do I have to mention that I have Sun square Ceres in Aries and Moon trine Pallas? We were able to move on from the incident with no lasting damages. 😀
I would like to receive your newsletter. Thanks for the offer.
Hi Jara,
Orbs are tricky things, and though I do keep orbs tight (2-3 degrees either side of exact) I tend to expand them a bit when the ‘heavies’ transit, and in natal situations involving the Sun. If you observe an effect early, just note the orb and test it against other transits–you may be a sensitive ‘early responder.’ Take care, though, as sometimes we think it’s one aspect when the effect is really from something else–I think that’s the risk of reading one’s own chart 🙂
Sounds like a very Watery situation you were in–which I’m thinking is probably why the easy ‘bounce back’ and recovery–Water types (or times when there is a lot of Water active by transit) seem unable to stay angry (as opposed to upset!) for long, and prefer to make up quickly.
Will send the newsletter along on Monday–and you are welcome.

Thank you for this offer, would love to read your newsletter.
And I love your phrase: “…a little Hitler-y”.
I have a feeling I’m going to be working that into conversations all day. Even the ones with the three year old: “Excuse me, sweetheart, but I find your demand for more Cheerios to be… a little Hitler-y.”
LOL Excellent use of the phrase, Carol, IMO–and it’s never too early to start the history lesson 🙂
And you’re welcome.

Hi Julie,
My boyfriend is Sun in Cancer 1 deg and the Pluto opposition was quite an experience for him and for all around him. His usual kindness to everybody disappeared for some time, his internal transformation was really profound, seems now he is coming out like a new Sun in Cancer full of love and kindness.
Thank you for your today’s comments, I will pay attention!
Would like to receive your news letter, thanks again for your kind offer.
Martha
Hi Martha,
Thank you for the feedback on what you observed with your boyfriend’s Pluto opposed Sun experience–sounds very much like what is to be expected–a wild ride! followed by the emergence of a re-born, rejuevenated being. Glad you made it through!
You’re very welcome.

Hello,
very interesting. Do the transits affect people differently depending on the natal chart. I’m a sag with sag rising, moon in pisces and at 1:00 am I had an unexpected emotional breakdown, I didn’t see coming.
So send me your newsletter.
Thanks
Shalija,
Of course the transits affect everyone differently due to the natal chart–but there is a general atmosphere that I attempt to describe in the newsletter.
So I’ll send you the newsletter.
You’re welcome.

Hi Julie . . . it’s been a while! I was thinking about progressions (trying to decide if they make sense to me, or just stick w/transits!) and discussing with mom to find ‘right way’ to do one, and thought of you! And here you are — seems like you’re doing very well — that’s good. Please include me in your complimentary newsletter and hopefully it will enlighten me on many things, maybe even progressions — thank you! Hopefully we’ll talk more soon — Suzanne.
Hi Suzanne, sorry, no progressions in the newsletter (I use them sparingly)–typically a newsletter arrives in your email 1-3 times permonth, with one-three articles, plus a forecast–and a subscription comes with EXTRAs! which are short notes sent to your email, plus the password protected page on the blog, where I discuss random other things and give a daily Lunar rundown. Will put you on the list–and you’re welcome! jd

Hi Julie I love your writing and I’d love a copy of your newsletter to catch up whats happening in this turbulent time. I had a very cancerian day myself: went with my mother to pay a condolence visit to an older cousin who lost his father and had lovely deep conversations about difficult family dynamics and history.
Hi Uzmi, of course I will send you a copy. Sounds like a wonderful, soothing kind of day–very healing, as the Cancer influence can be, especially for families. And Thank you!
