The 3 AM hour PDT brings the Taurus Moon into quincunx with Vesta and trine with the North Node; we may feel we are sailing along in our planned direction quite successfully, but our most sacred values are in some degree of conflict with our current choices, especially our material (Taurus) or emotional or intuitive ones (the Moon)–this, of course, causes us some need to adjust or re-evaluate where we’re headed. By 7 AM the Moon quincunxes Zeus–what a way to start the day for West Coasters, with first a challenge from our own values and then what amounts to a dare featuring our own ambitions or desires! The pattern here is one that asks us to question whether what we’re currently rushing toward is really in keeping with our deepest and most important values–are our choices honoring these, or has the ease with which we’re moving forward convinced us that it wouldn’t be so easy if it wasn’t right?
11 AM PDT and the Taurus Moon trines retro Mercury, bringing an odd kind of eloquence and an almost dangerous surety in our own reasoning–not the thing to have confidence in at this time! Access feeling and the physical senses to help ground yourself, and leave the thinking for another time, as we’re sure to miss something, and make a poor decision, pronouncement, or choice. At the same time, the Moon squares Juno–if we wondered where our false bravado was coming from, now we know! Even though our emotional perceptions tell us not to, with this aspect we push for signs that we are personally powerful–a poor move at this point.
3 PM-ish the Moon opposes Pallas, and we are confronted with, either from without or within, the wise path–and how we may have been failing to follow it. Our response, our willingness to be honest with ourselves about ourselves, will be what makes the difference between those who take the information with a measure of thankfulness and those who end up believing there’ve been no flaws in their choices, after all.
By 10:30 PM PDT the Moon moves to quincunx Mars, and by 11:30 is in place as the apex of a Finger of God with base of Mars sextile Ceres. This effectively offers us guidance for how to deal with the day’s contradictory input through feelings/ intuition, and that these solutions will present themselves when we access our instincts (Ceres) and act on these (Mars). It’s almost a ‘Chicken Before the Egg’ situation, where we must act using our instinctual connection to nature before we can understand why (symbolized by the Moon’s contact to Mars before it forms the Finger).
2 AM of the 31st, the Moon contacts Sedna while perfecting the quincunx to Ceres. This suggests that, after we have acted in an attempt to resolve our feelings by acting instinctively, we may try to sense further ‘natural’ information, which we’ll be unable to grasp (Sedna)– this ends a day that can be very stressful, but which is best approached with a flexible attitude, and a reliance on the feeling nature–it’s important we remember how unreliable communications, and our own mental processes, may be at this time (Merc retro). By 4 AM PDT the Moon quincunxes Venus, and some may feel they’ve been treading water and getting nowhere, as relationships don’t seem to have benefited at all by the events of the past 24 hours; it feels like it’s just one damn thing after another. For others it will be finances that present problems, or maybe it’s just a sense of being unsure of love, assets, or your own Self-worth. Don’t let the energy work you–it’s not only fleeting but asks only that you consider adjustments, not necessarily make them.

good 1, thanks. do you find retro mercury internalized? especially in virgo, not just lost packages but worries. Time too. The experience of not having anough in fire, too much in water, losing track in air, and slowing down in earth.
Another off topic thought if you will indulge is Mexico., Jan 21, 1917. Very harsh natal amd w/trans coming it may fail. Death is Life there unbelieveably malific. it cries for help and wants to flee.
Hi Lucy,
Thank you. Any energy can be experienced either internally, externally, or both (even simultaneously!) so I don’t see any definitive distinction. When Merc retros in Earth I see it as generally involving the material and the way we think about it, or the attitudes we take toward it–that the retro is always a mental process drawn to matters of the element in which it occurs–so that thoughts and mental faculties are always involved, because it’s Mercury, but what one’s attention is drawn to varies with where the retro occurs–at least, that’s how I see it! Remember, though, if you’ve come to these interps through your own experience, that you have to take into account your own natal Merc and its energies, as these will color your experience and your processing of the energy. And yes, I agree that worry is especially apt for Merc retro in Virgo.
If you’re talking about the approval of the Mexican constitution (so the modern-day birth of our neighbor to the South) and current transits, I can’t make much comment–don’t have the time right now to look into this–but if you have some observations, please feel free to share them!
Thank you, Lucy!

Mexico chart I’m working from. a lot of negatives here. no freedom of self expression, (SN conq AC.,opp venus/mars/ SN/7th hs. conq along with a loose Tsquare to Aries jupiter in 10th.) Might as well sleep it off. It’s Frida Kahlo, saying she wanted to die, the immigrant in flight, druglords carving skulls in guns, it’s a celebration of death. (11hs gemini moon, expressing through the 8th hs mars/uranius conq. and pluto in the 12. (end game))
They come to the US, sacrficing self in hard work, a dark cloak of superiority, of toughness, I have seen tears when one isn’t appreciated enough.
Thank you for your input, Lucy

made a mistake; it should be mercury conq venus& NN on DC. These opp SN/AC. I wrote mars instead of mercury. Mars is conq uranius in the 8th.
very hard for the natives of this country to have good lives. seems they come here and give all.
Thank-you Julie for allowing me these comments
