The Moon enters Scorpio at 12:49 PM PST. This could be a time when we feel like saying, ‘Scorpio, you are a real bitch.’ The atmosphere will seem unusually harsh, with emotional challenges to creativity, with feelings of attack (rather than actual attack) coming forward, and the aesthetic both volatile (via the emotions) and too willing to embrace the unsightly and to re-cycle what may or may not still hold some value. Disorientation may be the overriding result, as we face Merc’s direction (11:20 PM PST).
9:04 AM PST the 29th: I wrote the above several days ago, and now that we’re here, I’m not feeling it in quite the same way–so what’s up? Let’s look at the aspects in effect right now–the Moon is 17 minutes from her Void, with a square to Ceres the last aspect. This suggests to me that we’re in the midst of a natural progression, and that we don’t ‘arrive’ at the Scorpionic reaction until we hit the Scorpio Moon–well that makes sense.
I think all our energy is really focused toward the Mercury Direction tonight (11:20 PM PST), and that tension may override other considerations, with the Moon’s entry into Scorpio enhancing the stress inherent in a station and making it the key player in today’s scenario.
Of course, the Mars/ Saturn square is exact, and Pluto sits at the Sun/ Pallas midpoint, and both are promises of assertive, even volatile, energy making an appearance materially/ physically–and it seems like a smart alternative or channel for our energy! The only chance of this being productive is found in being entirely conscious of just how much ‘push’ there is in the psyche. Pluto can be stealthy, and right when we think we’ve used up all that assertive juice more comes along–and must find an outlet. As long as we can accept that it will keep coming (for Pluto has depths and depths and no end) we will continue in conscious mode, and not fall prey to lashing out, acting out, or passing out from sheer rage, pique, or shock!

the sat/mars square & mercury retro must have an effect on NYC, mass transit stuck, buses, etc. in the streets and airplanes grounded and the target on Bloomberg with his mars/sat/ uranius in taurus how perfect. NYC is leo and no one told them a double Aquarian, sun/moon, wouldn’t work……neptune in virgo wonder what Bloomberg’s AC is.
Be interesting to see as a side light when mercury comes out from hiding if it will bring some solar flares….just when we thought communications will improve. But I think they will. The mars/sat square is a killer.
I agree–that Mars/ Saturn square is putting everyone through the wringer (or is it more appropriate to say ‘pressed under a rock’?)

I wanted to wait until the Moon moved into Scorpio so I could feel the vibe, but here’s my take: Because the Moon is basically moving toward a conjunction with sexy Venus in Scorpio, which is trining the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Pisces, I think there will be lots of spontaneous opportunities for folks to connect to their sexuality, however they define it, during the next two and a half days. Of course, that could be wishful thinking! 🙂

Excellent point that I failed to note (funny, considering t Venus is 5 degrees from conj w/my natal Venus) Think I was too focused on Mars/ Saturn still being within reach and so ‘tieing up’ (no sexual innuendo intended) the assertive impetus to connect and mate. Thanks for pointing it out–and wishful thinking often becomes reality 🙂

Very nicely written…
I’ve noticed a great deal of tension and restlessness within myself, almost without any outlet, plus the withholding of needed funds until the end of this week, but then after all the tension and bad sleep of the past couple of weeks (which includes my daughter receiving an important vitamin deficiency therapy which has temporarily but annoyingly disrupted her sleep), we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and ironically, my husband is being paid a day early (due to the New Year’s holiday) and this check is from earlier in the retrograde (when it first started!) where there was an oil spill at my husband’s work and he had to work very long hours into the wee hours for several days (the spill wasn’t resolved for a full week, which has never happened…very merc retro!) and so this check that arrives tomorrow morning just after merc goes direct is for an extra thousand dollars! I just checked my own balance and I have two dollars in my checking, so this is good timing, since we need groceries…
One final weird thing is that it has been a very unseasonably warm December, with pretty much NO snow here in Colorado, and temperatures in the 50’s, even hot on some days. Finally, as the retrograde is ending (almost exactly!) we are due for a winter storm tomorrow and Friday with several inches of snow and frigid temperatures. Not my favorite thing in the world, but I thought it was funny.
Excuse the rambling note. It has been a strange mercury retrograde, no doubt due to other, concurrent influences.
