It’s Monday Poll Round-Up, and we’ve looked at each Moon this week, asking what people feel will be the challenges for each. Overall, the results are steady, with 56%+ each time giving answers indicating either positive feelings or a positive outlook on their ability to cope. This is heartening, telling us that more than half of us are meeting events with the best attitude possible, and that means chances for success in anything we apply ourselves to also goes up. A big plus: nobody was simply looking to escape–kudos to all, for the willingness to take responsibility, while the biggest plus is likely one we’re not even aware of: the emotional influence works largely through the unconscious, and with a positive outlook we may encounter ‘set ups’ and situations that are predisposed to a positive outcome, in response to our positive attitude; we really do create our own Universe!
The negatives, averaging around 34%, were troubling, if only for the way some of us expressed feelings of helplessness or some degree inability to cope as well as we’d like. My impulse is to say, Don’t be afraid, everything is as it is because a) the Universe truly is working in your best interests, and anything happening is happening in order to steer you in a particular direction and to give you particular experiences, and 2) if you are responsive to what is being revealed to you, there is no reason to fear–it’s only when you are not heeding the information offered that fear is a reasonable response, as the situation becomes similar to a driver on the highway who ignores ‘do not enter’ ‘wrong way’ ‘one way only’ and ‘stop’!
The ‘Dandies and Dictators’ poll was intriguing, mostly for the way a full 20% feel that the men they know are neither dandified nor dics (!) My only question then was, what are they? as I was unable to think of any male I’ve ever known who didn’t hold even a very mild desire to either be admired/ the center of attention/ or glory in his metrosexualtiy (some of the results of a dandified Juno) or to gently boss others around (again, Juno showing her power within the male psyche).
Venus and Jupiter meet in Capricorn, but here again, we must be willing to see the actual effect created, rather than looking in vain for what we expect. Will we get more love and/or money? Certainly that’s one alternative, but we must also note that circumstances might be deceptive, illusory, or inspired (Neptune influence), or they might bring results that are unduly restrictive, or results may be withheld, for now (Saturn aspect). So, we might not know immediately what this smash-up means, and there’s always the chance that it can have more than one influence for the individual; in fact, I would assume this will indicate at least two manifestations: one oriented toward the matters of the House in the natal chart where this conjunction takes place, and one drawing on one or more combinations of subject of the Houses each rules in the natal chart. We must also consider that Jupiter’s involvement might signal exaggerations of the current state of love, money, relationships, so that whatever their present status, we will get a snoot full, and that may be great or not so! If you are having difficulty synthesizing possible meanings for the meeting of Venus and Jupiter, I would be glad to give suggestions specific to the various Houses they rule in your chart; please elaborate in the comments section. And, to round it all out, here’s a link to the astronomical take on the two: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27958792/?GT1=43001
My sense is that we’re all at least a little puzzled by the state of things, either personally or on the world stage, with the horrors of Mumbai being the latest assault on our Collective psyche and sensibilities. Take the direct approach; look around your own life for signs of both pitfalls and promise. This morning I saw a mating pair of eagles in flight, certainly an unusual sight, especially so close to a city; and yet where I live the tall cedars, firs, and pines of the Northwest have been preserved in place to a surprising degree, and wild life is still abundant. Certainly, none of us should be surprised to see such a soaring beauty in our own surroundings, and in our own lives, if we’ll just look into the heavens.
And whatever you do, have a great Monday!
Hi Julie,
I see that Jupiter and Saturn are transiting my 1st house. Can you tell me what that could mean? I am considering an alternative treatment to a root canal that would involve removal of the entire tooth and not require me to take antibiotics, which I am extremely sensitive to. Thanks.

I meant Jupiter and Venus.

My birthday is December 6, 1954 at 7:44 am in Santa Monica, California. The root canal is scheduled for Friday, on which I see the Sun is conjunct Mars on my natal Sun, 14 degrees! That can’t be good, can it?

I have Jupiter in Scorpio in the 9th house, Venus in Gemini in the 5th house. I also thought I’d mention I have a Capricorn Ascendent in the 1st house, because this seems to be related in my mind. Any insight would be welcome, I definately need it today! Thank you!

Hi Tara,
This is too important a question to leave to chance, so I made an exception to my rule and looked up your chart–I didn’t want to make a judgment based on just knowing the two would meet in your 1st House. Since, for you, this is a meeting of the rulers of the 1st and 10th, and the 10th is the ‘natural’ House of bones/dental work, I thought you connecting the possible dental work to the conjunction was right on. After inspecting the chart, my impression is that this alternative would carry its own risks that may outweigh those of traditional methods; here’s why: it shows risks from anesthesia (square to natal Neptune), much extra expense (opposition to Uranus) and may cause emotional upset, perhaps through a change to your appearance afterward that you may feel others/ the partner focus on negatively (square to natal Moon, ruler of intercepted 7th).
With this chart, if it were me, I would stick with the conventional–either way, I hope it goes well for you.

Hi Codie,
I said I would look into synthesis of the Houses Venus and Jupiter rule, applying to the conjunction of transiting Venus and Jupiter; I can’t be sure what those are with the info given. Please tell me what those are, and I’ll get back to you.

Thanks Julie. Much appreciated. I’m leaning that way now too. I just found out that I may not have to take antibiotics after all. and I do trust this doctor. But I was really stressing out over this. I’m just glad to know that the alternative wouldn’t have worked out anyway. Thank you!

Hi Julie. Thank you for your interpretations- they are invaluable!
Jupiter and Venus are conjunct in my 12th house. Venus rules my 3rd and 4th houses, and Jupiter rules my 11th.
I think I am mostly confused by the conjunction in the 12th. Capricorn rules this house. Perhaps this makes it more difficult for me to delve into the matters here? I’m feeling that the Saturnian influence will prevail with this conjunction, and the “results may be withheld”.

Hi Courtenay, and Thank you!
So I’m assuming that Libra is on the 8th, as well? Putting all the influences together, I’m wondering if you won’t see communications involving others whose resources mix with or affect your own (immediate family members, perhaps?) that will have an influence on your connection with groups or friends, that may affect your living situation, or that may have a decisive say in whether you go forward with a current goal or wish–and you may perceive it all via dreams or the subconscious! Be conscious of what you exchange, energetically, verbally, non-verbally, and resource-wise, in the process, to achieve something closer to what you want than might otherwise come about.

Actually, Libra is an intercepted sign, so Virgo is on the 8th, and Scorpio on the 9th. I guess this takes the resources from others out of the picture?
Although, recently, this very issue has come up, indeed from a family member, and it definitely affects my living situation and my decision to pursue a goal I have been thinking about for a while. And pursuing this goal would create an affiliation with a new group of people/friends. For the most part, my dreams seem random and meaningless (as usual), but they have been more frequent than normal. Perhaps I should keep a dream journal so that I can make a more conscious effort to understand them.
Thanks again!

Hi Courtenay,
Libra being intercepted in the 8th does not take it out of the picture (but may make the connection, especially from the viewpoint of others, a little harder to see).
So, you were right about feeling that results may be withheld, and also correct that it may simply be harder to delve into–but keep an eye on those dreams, anyway, you never know what they will show you!

Hi Julie,
Thanks for the great blog. Venus rules my 1st and 6th houses (Taurus rising) and Jupiter rules my 8th. They conjoined in my 9th house, close to the midheaven. In my natal chart, Venus is in Sagittarius and Jupiter’s in Libra, making them mutually receptive, right?
I’ve been looking for a job for more than a year; I have an interview this morning for a job that’s very appealing but would involve relocation to a very expensive city, so that’s a bit daunting, as moving is stressful for me.
Thanks in advance for your comments and thoughts.

Hi Lainie,
Thank You!
Sounds like this may be THE interview–certainly affecting these Houses suggests you have an excellent chance at the job. It seems it all rests on your personality and work ethic/ approach, and others’ willingness to share their resources–and the conjunction in Cap says, take a serious approach! And yes, Venus and Jupiter are in mutual reception–mr always strikes me as if the planets are in collusion, reinforcing each other–so these two are used to cooperating within the natal picture. If you don’t get the job, there may be something about the situation that makes you change your approach to job hunting in a major way.
Don’t worry about the stress ahead of time–wait to experience it! That makes the duration a lot shorter!
My very best wishes, and much good luck!

Thanks Julie! I really appreciate your response. The interview went well — with Moon in Capricorn I tend to come off as a serious person anyway, sometimes too much so.
This might be an odd question, but . . . wasn’t the Uranus-Neptune conjunction at 22 Capricorn back in 1993? Will this conjunction relate at all to events at that time?

Hi Lainie,
Glad to hear it went well.
Off the top of my head, that sounds right, that the conj. was at 22 Cap–and perhaps this has some significance for mundane (world event) astrology, but on a personal level, one would have to have this degree point (or one in hard aspect to it) occupied natally for both to be of import.
Anybody have any mundane-related ideas on significance for the conjunction(s)?

Hi Julie: My birthday is September 18, 1951 at 1:40 AM in Chicago Ill. Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in my 6th house. Venus rules my 4th and 11th houses, and Jupiter rules my 6th. I am trying very hard to find direction for a career move…I left the big corporate job 10 years ago, and still, I am trying to find my true place and have the financial security that I need. Going off in the direction of my dreams has not proved to be financially stable; the thought of just going and getting a JOB is disheartening. I would appreciate any info that you can give me. Your insight is very inspiring.

Hi Barbara, and Thank You–
The meet-up of transiting Venus and Jupiter creates a picture that should address beliefs about deepest Self, goals and dreams, and the job arena–so either you had nothing cooking that you would’ve heard about on Monday (when the aspect was exact), or, as mentioned in the article, Saturn could be delaying the results. I’m assuming that the moving conjunction took place in your 7th, which suggests the possibility of a ‘payoff’ related to the partner, or a partnership scenario–or if your activities play to an ‘audience’ of any kind, or if you are involved in the Arts, these could be stimulated. This conjunction was not only brief, but it happened for everyone; you’d be better off looking to transits to natal placements, and to the Solar Arc picture, for more personalized timing and effects.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Actually, I did have a JOB interview on Monday and was offered the job, but not excited about the mundane prospects. Yes, I am giving up an artistic pursuit because it has not been fruitful financially, and at some point, reality sets in. How do I reconcile this with the insight you just gave me?

You’re welcome, Barbara–I don’t know what to say–it sounds like you should’ve taken what was offered, if only for the financial security it might have added to your life (Venus conj. Jupiter suggesting expansion of resources). I believe that the Universe is speaking to us all the time–and denial of a dream often signals that we’ve superimposed an idea of what we want on the real thing, and in the process distorted it. For example, we may dream of being a ballet dancer, work and work at it, but find it doesn’t blossom–and we think our dream is dashed–but more likely is that we’ve missed what drew our attention to ballet in the first place–our dream isn’t dashed, because we never actually found it! we just gave it the form of ballet, for whatever reason–maybe what we really wanted was to be on stage before an audience, or to learn to move gracefully, or to throw ourselves into a demanding profession that consumed our lives, or perhaps it’s the music or costumes or staging or athleticism–all of which we can find along many other paths.
Since the moving conjunction involved the rulers of your 4th, 11th, and 6th, you could’ve been shown/ discovered something about yourself by events on that day, something basic about who you are, and how this must come forward to fulfill dreams (11th) and be incorporated into the everyday (6th).
Good luck, and best wishes,
Julie

Hi Julie,
My Solar Return was on 1st December at 3.59 p.m in London.
The Venus, Jupiter, Moon conjunction fell in my solar return 9th house and natal 2nd house.(d.o.b 2nd Dec 61, 6.26am London).
What can I expect from this solar return chart for the year?
As Pluto has recently finally moved out of my sign after 13 years, I am certainly hoping for a fresh and more promising start to the next chapter.
As soon as Pluto entered Capricorn in Feb this year I heard from an ex partner (a Scorpio)- out of the blue, who I became estranged from, as soon as Pluto entered Sagittarius in 1995.
I found the planetary timing of these events quite remarkable.

Hi Fumi,
The offer was to help you synthesize the meaning of the meeting of Venus/ Jupiter through the Houses they rule natally. What you ask for necessitates a reading, and since I do not specialize in Solar Returns, you might have more luck looking elsewhere.
Here’s wishing you a happy belated birthday–Thank you, and regards,

Hi Julie,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
My natal Jupiter is in my 2nd house which is ruled by Sagittarius.
My natal Venus rules both my 6th and 7th house cusps (Taurus) and my 11th house cusp (Libra).
Thank you.

Hi Fumi,
This combination suggests an assessment at a daily activity level of Self-worth and Self-image–what I have, do, and am, weighed against what others have, do, and are (and this is not negative, it’s simply a way of putting one’s own position within a context)–and how well/ effectively my personal assets are moving me toward goals and dreams. Considering that this conjunction happened on your birthday, it may imply that this will be a year long quest, with much development along the way (particularly possible in Art, business that calls for co-operation and partnership, in the way you interact socially, in education and/ or travel, in the relationship with the mate or spouse, and in what you surround yourself with materially–much may be focused on the aesthetics and appropriateness of your taste and investments).
Much good luck and happiness as you start your new solar year!
