Who hasn’t been horrified, moved, and now joyous, over the collapse of the Chilean mine and the rescue of the 33 men trapped for more than 2 months? Of note is that the operation to bring the miners one-at-a-time to the surface began with the Moon’s entry into Capricorn, successfully beginning to bring men from the rocky depths as the Lunar influence passed over Pluto, god of the Underworld.
So I wondered where the asteroid Orpheus might be; he’s the fellow who persuaded Pluto to resurrect his dead love, his wife Eurydice, (apparently he did this by singing and playing music so beautifully–a few Elvis songs, perhaps?)with the only condition being that Orpheus could lead her from the Underworld, but must wait until both were back above ground before looking at her. Find out what happened here http://anasteroidsdatabase.wordpress.com/?s=orpheus For our purposes, Orpheus is currently at 11 Capricorn, right where the Capricorn Moon sweeps over him during the rescue operation–leading the miners from their months’ underground home back to the land of the living. Isn’t astrology fun?

It has no reality attached to it, but I felt immediately that the miners would be rescued long before Christmas. I would love to be the one to write their story.

You felt the connection–now tell their story.

That’s a great myth! I loved a 1959 movie called “Orfeu Negro” which revisits this myth during Rio’s Carnival. Maybe you’ve seen it?
Hello Katia!
That is a great story, isn’t it? I always find myself wondering what it’s supposed to tell us about the Universe, and ourselves–is it a simple ‘do what you’re told’ story, or is it more like, ask and ye shall receive–but only if you have the Self-discipline to wait for the correct moment to marvel and celebrate! I think of it anytime I’m in a passage of life where I have asked, and a miracle seems to be occurring, and I must steel my nerves and TRUST, avoiding the temptations to ‘look back’ and micromanage.
I have not seen Michel Camus’ ‘Black Orpheus’ but it has long been on my ‘classics I must see someday list’–I think I’ll move it to the front, on your recommendation!
Thanks, Katia!

50 years ago a similar famous situation with trapped miners in uk or something and a guy got his arm caught at elbow he was hanging from
ceiling up off ground screaming for three days in pain from crushed arm
begging other survivors to cut his arm off that he was hanging from but there was nothing to cut with-
so he died there like that. Oh did I mention it took 3 days?
Pluto’s meathook. It’s rollicking fun alright, courtesy of loving universe…
hm.
(bad mood today don’t mind me…)
Horrible things happen, but we make the choice of where we’ll put our attention (and what we’ll share with others)–I’m all for a little (or a lot) of darkness, as I think it’s important to explore and accept, but I don’t get the point of this at all. Color me dismayed

I am dismayed by suffering, I guess they say is karma, past life
related (ex: 911 victims ‘chose’ fate as service to world somehow)
I do not know how to suffer really. Tho’, when I do, does seem an aspect
of mystery to it… suffering a mystery, a part of the mysteries,
— they say it can lead to wisdom one good thing…
Solzenietzen the Russian author says there’s not much good about it…
I don’t know. It beats me, genocide, holocaust … – meaning?
Let’s stop labeling some things as karmic–it’s all karmic, suffering or joy, and another name for this is life. Too much navel-gazing makes all of us the proverbial ‘dull boys’–at least, that’s what I told Solzhenitsyn 🙂

I find your analysis fascinating. Yes the 1959 Black Orpheus is a wonderful film as well.
Thank you, Elizabeth! And for the film nod, too!
