Usually we turn away from the past, but today we embrace it. Hellelil and Hildebrand, the Meeting on the Turret Stairs, by Burton 1864

Frederick William Burton
The thing we need to be aware of today is that the past created the now; if we remember that, we’ll avoid a lot of blaming, hand-wringing, or useless parsing of causes and origins that will inevitably lead us right back to the fact that what we chose and did in the past formed the present, absolutely. And, though it may sound crazy, we need to embrace the past, mistakes, foolishness, and all, for best results in the now. How does that work? Allow yourself to ‘Love What Was’, even if you hate it now, or even if you’re aware it did or does violate something you find sacred–there was a reason for it in your life, it made you who you are–how can you not love it? And ‘Love Yourself’, and especially those parts of yourself that you feel are tripping you up or interfering with smooth execution of plans–they are actually trying to tell you something, something important about what you really want, or who you really are. Be slow to act, and open your arms to all that created you, and you’ll end the day with one or more new and effective ways of seeing yourself and making your mark (Mars qnx SN and semi-sq Saturn, Venus trine SN, Merc trine Sedna, Sun sxt Juno, parallel Ceres, and sq Vesta)
“open your arms to all that created you” oh this made me feel so …I don’t know yet. vulnerable. but that’s a good thing.
I’m glad 🙂

beautiful. for me, this is the number one theme in long term consultation – the best kind of astro to work with. it is *crucial* to appreciate who we have been and why, how we perceived ‘choice’ and from that vantage point, go for genuine growth. I cant say I have used the word, ‘love’ 🙂 it was a Huge growth stage/step for me that took many many months of inner heated debate (and a lot of Tolle!). but, of course, this is the ultimate seeding foundation. and gosh, you feel so much lighter on the other end of that spectrum.
wishing you a 2016 full of love, Julie and family!

Of the painting, from History Ireland:
‘The Times art critic, probably Tom Taylor, referred to it as “a personification of that lofty woman worship, which was the very heart of chivalry” (25 April 1864).’
Mars qnx SN and semi-sq Saturn, Venus trine SN?
I might be more inclined to say it’s Mars as apex to a Finger of God with base of SN-Sedna, with Sedna representing the mystery of woman, in the sense of female connection to Nature–and Venus is opposed Sedna across Taurus-Scorpio, reinforcing the mystery, and the connection to sensuality.
