Today it’s all about Pluto. With less than thirty minutes still to travel in apparent retrograde before direction (28 September), the god of the Underworld squats on our chests like the succubus of legend, making it pretty darn hard to breathe. Other energies, at least somewhat more timid than Pluto, sidle up and form aspects, and the result is an almost constant testing of our relationship to Power, and to the ideas of transformation (do you believe?) and destruction (do you feel the pull toward the cliff?) Most of us aren’t completely at ease with the idea of actually being as powerful as we have the capacity to be; we take refuge in cynicism (“People don’t change”) or in Self-sabotage (“See? Nothing ever works out for me!”). If we truly felt our own power, we would believe in the power of transformation, and would have no need for destruction–the clearing out of the outmoded or worn would happen without effort, falling away as we move forward–and change would be, not something that stirs fear or uncertainty. but something that has an almost magical quality, a kind of infinite possibility as our everyday atmosphere.
So, what outlets for power do we have right now, as the dark one sits oh-so-still, making us watchful and uneasy? There’s Venus, moving into opposition, almost begging us to project our negative qualities onto others in relationships, or financial dealings; there’s Mars, moving into quincunx, pugnacious and perhaps looking for a fight over slights, misunderstandings, over a too proud or insistent ‘I Am’; and there’s a square from Zeus, intimating we might fear destruction of our ambitions, dreams, and goals, possibly from our partners (Zeus is in Libra).
Those are all fear scenarios, where we might go if we were unconscious of the Universal flow–but we don’t have to. Instead, we claim our Plutonian power, and we see it united with the contacting energies to make some very positive outcomes. With Venus we may experience the transformations that occur when we apply Love or Money in a completely Self-responsible way, probably in a difficult situation or scenario (the opposition). With Mars we see that true Self-assertion from a position of power requires adjustment, a subtling-down of the ego, so that we move the Universe not through a punch-in-the-nose, but through a quantum vibration that acts in our own best interests–action through inaction, you might say. And with Zeus, we confront the parts of our own power plans, our ambitions and desires, that are calling for others to make it happen for us, or that will disempower us if we attain them–and we take back that initiative, that can-do-ness, for ourselves.
And, through roughly 16 September, we see Jupiter sextile Black Moon Lilith. This makes the bogey man bigger; it exaggerates our anger and our sense of righteousness, too. Beliefs or facts may cooperate with matters ignored or denied to make a potent stew bent on righting (or subjecting others to!) injustice. With Merc retro this could hijack thoughts and make for some over-the-top scenes. Those with natal placements around 20 Taurus need to be especially vigilant, as these transiting elements form a Finger of God with the natal point, prompting expression of this combo in some unfortunate ways related to the natal body or the House(s) it rules. (If you have a natal point 19-21 Taurus and you’d like my brief guess as to what it might bring, leave a comment that includes what body is in this range and what House, if any, it rules.)
Today’s word image is a red and gold paper Chinese dragon, the kind you see dancing through the streets at Lunar New Year. Think back to late January–how does what was happening then figure into now?

Hi Julie….I have Moon in Taurus at 19° Taurus in the 8th house.
Hi Jody, Here we might see injustice or ignored material (BML) addressed with the belief system or facts (Jupiter) that results in emotional fulfillment and/ feelings that affect career or status (Moon ruling the 10th).

Interesting Julie – thanks. I have had an on-going work issue that was mainly in March and end of July/early August – that was really connected to the Jupiter Pluto transit. (On my Asc conjunct Pluto). That has mainly concluded now (around the final square of Jupiter/Pluto) but it has also highlighted some unfairness/injustice in the area I work and my colleague and I might be following this up- so I’m wondering if it is going to be that. I also have some choices to make in another job I do which I’m struggling with. I am going on holiday also in between with family.
Found it (hidden in another comments folder)! Yes, it could be that. Good luck with sorting it out.

I just posted something but I can’t see it now so not sure if it went through. I said that I had a work issue relating to the Jupiter Pluto square which happened in March and mostly conclued at the last square a week ago or so. But some injustices have come from that and I am wondering if that will be that as I might have to follow up on some of it. I also am away on holiday with family…
Hi Jody, I got your initial two posts and this one–the other is in the ether. Yes, it could involve what you describe, especially considering your natal placement apex of the Finger is in the 8th, suggesting pivotal involvement of others.

An insightful post as usual- thks. I have (natal 2/12/44) Sun 22*57′ Aquarius in the
8th house opposite Jupiter at 21*58′ Leo in the 2nd house, making a T square with
the Finger of God apex Jupiter. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Thank you, David.
No, no thoughts on this, as I’m addressing only natal placements that fill in the apex point of approx. 20 Taurus. I’m confused as to how your Jupiter can be in Leo, but also apex to the Finger, as the Finger apex lies in Taurus

any guess for 18 degrees moon in taurus, 7th house? natally it is part of my neptune-moon-jupiter yod (2nd house apex, 7th, 9th)
I specified 19-21 degrees because for a Finger we need to keep the orbs very tight, no more than 2 degrees–and though by the 14th Jupiter is still within orb, BML isn’t, for an apex at 18. We could stretch it as it sounds like you have a natal overlay, but without seeing the whole chart I couldn’t begin to go there! I’ll just venture ‘Emotional Impact!’ and leave it at that 🙂

apologies, I accidentally posted this under another comment . . btw, Mars rules my 4th & 12th houses
Hi Eva, No problem–I see both posts.
Your Mars apex in the 5th, ruling 4th and 12th, suggests an active creative energy (perhaps something done in or to the home, or that springs from deep within at a Soul level, or simply identification as a creative or romantic person) expresses because either the beliefs or the facts meet up with matters you’ve denied or ignored, or that you perceive as injustices–and you do something about them. There’s also the possibility that the entire ‘chemical reaction’ could take place within the unconscious (12th) and so actions or choices could surprise even you 🙂

thank you for the reply Julie! Could you comment a bit on how saturn might affect the situation? Would you say it might moderate a bit BML or accentuate its force?
You’re welcome! I see Saturn as insisting on ‘real-world’ results from BML–so making the whole equation more demanding, and so more conscious (or perhaps sought more in the material surroundings, as if those feeling the effects of the Finger see what ignored, unjust, or denied as highly tangible, something that needs tackling).

I have Mercury at 19 Taurus, it rules my third and eleventh Koch houses.
Hi runlola! With natal Merc as apex and the 3rd involved, this might be especially problematic–thoughts may be inundated with those matters you’ve been ignoring or denying, or consumed with awareness of injustices–but a great deal will depend on the belief system you employ, and on your ideals and goals–those can go a long way toward taming what may feel like an exaggerated negative world view at this time.

Very interesting… and I’m certainly feeling especially the Mars energy today–a little too willing to get annoyed or angry, I feel… Oh, well, this too shall pass, I guess 😀
The Finger of God points to my Saturn in the 5th, ruling the 2nd–if you think 21.26 is still close enough to consider….
Thank you, as always!
Hi Pernille! Mars is such a ticklish energy–it can make the temper boil over even as right up to the explosion we just feel really invigorated!
Your Saturn works well enough in the equation because it’s in the measurement direction both elements of the base are moving toward. Is it romance that will affect the Self-image, or creative output that will affect the income or assets? In either case, it may be that the facts, beliefs, or attempts to reach out (or publicize) meet unanticipated factors (that were there but ignored or just not seen), with a result of materializing the matter (making a real-world manifestation) or stopping the effort or issue from going forward.

Thank you, Julie, and sorry for the late reply—I have been mulling over this, returning to it several times, and somehow still not quite able to grasp the meaning…
Oh, well, perhaps it’ll dawn on me later… some things actually _do_ that… 😀
Thank you for the reply, Pernille–it’s never required 😉
It is a bit of a riddle. When that’s the case, and the individual can’t decipher it, I’m convinced that it’s because the mind obscures the meaning so the person will continue to respond to things as if they didn’t have the info. I think it’s a kind of fail-safe that keeps one from seeing something before they naturally would’ve seen it, so that things proceed as they would have. Maybe that answer is a riddle too! But that’s what I’m thinking, and it will clear up in the natural course of things–one day you’ll think of it and say ‘Oh yes, now I get it!’

Hi Julie
My natal Jupiter is at 18.50 Taurus in my 10th house. Would that qualify as within orb so near to 19?
Thanks J
*sigh* I suppose that’s close enough–but it would be nice to know what Jupiter rules 😉
With an apex of Jupiter in the 10th, this feels a little like a ‘Justice Warrior’ moment. Injustice or matters denied, addressed very publicly, possibly affecting career, status, or reputation–and that could be for good or ill, as this has an even chance of either showing you as righteous, or you as trying to dodge a negative matter, and having the facts come out–but I’m sure it’s the former, aren’t you?

BML @ 21 Taurus in 12th – Thank you in advance! ❤
Oh, BML makes it a conundrum wrapped inside a riddle! My thought is that the facts or beliefs you hold about some injustice or something you’re in denial of may force to the surface some tender natal energies that you strive to look away from–permanently–and this Finger makes their existence undeniable. And you’re welcome 🙂

I’m sorry – I meant to say my Sun is at 21 Taurus! Thank you Julie.
I’m glad you came back, Kella–the Sun as apex is one no one has presented yet. My first thought is that you could be the object of someone else’s projection–the 9th House placement suggests you make the perfect ‘screen’ to accept others’ exaggerated beliefs, things they are in denial of within themselves–or that you could have some inner conflict yourself, or some need to point out facts that have been ignored, and this is broadcast through your very existence, or temporarily added to your purpose. And you’re welcome. 🙂

This came to my email, but I thought it was worth answering here (where I asked people to put it):
“list the natal point that sits 19-21 Taurus, the House it rules”
sun at 21 08’
8th house
Thank you,
G (name withheld, just in case this person prefers it)
Ah! Another Sun apex! In this case ruling the 8th (we don’t know what Kella’s Sun rules with any certainty, depending on the House system she uses, though we do know it’s square to the one where it resides); here we don’t know where it sits (to be fair, I didn’t ask for that) but it rules the House of involvement with others and particularly with their resources. This suggests even more the projection scenario described for Kella, but this time possibly focused on responsibility, or ‘the facts’ surrounding shared resources. Some issue ignored or denied (by yourself or others) may be seen as your responsibility, G–or you may see others as being culpable. Just proceed with care. Very nice to hear from you.

hi darlin xxx i have jupiter in taurus in the second at twenty two degrees would it still impact me? xxx
Hi Susan, your scenario fits what I talk about in the weekend post; since you don’t mention what House Jupiter rules, I can only guess the BML-Jupiter scenario may affect your beliefs, your efforts to expand your reach, or your earnings through publishing/ broadcasting, via the 2nd House placement–and that a little later in the cycle, closer to the end of August.

Hi Julie,
My previous comment was probably not clearly described. Let me try to simplify: My natal Sun is at 22+ Aquarius opposite natal Jupiter at 21+ Leo. So, transiting Jupiter as apex of the Finger in Taurus, makes a T-sq with my natal Sun / Jupiter opposition. Sorry to have misunderstood what you were originally looking for.
Thanks for your indulgence. David.
Hi David, Thank you for further explanation. Transiting Jupiter is not apex to the Finger–it’s not in Taurus, it’s in Libra–that’s why I asked only for natal placements at 20 Taurus, which fill in a temporary, moving Finger in an individual chart. There’s no Finger without a natal placement at the apex point of 20 Taurus–for everyone else, the base of transiting Jupiter and Black Moon Lilith is simply a sextile. So, there’s nothing currently squaring your natal opposition, from either Taurus or Scorpio. Sorry if I didn’t explain the scenario clearly enough. jd
