The Mystic Rectangle formed with the Sun-Moon opposition (on the 26th at 9:49 AM PDT at 3 Aries 37) is arresting: this adds to the Full Moon a massively stressed Mars at 29 degrees in Cancer, which the Moon rules, Neptune in Aries which is conjoined the Moon, and Pluto in Aquarius, with both Neptune and Pluto in retrograde status. This configuration tells us there’s a potential synergy in play that makes for a smooth meshing of influences, creating a better outcome with a bigger impact than the various energies could offer individually. In this case, the message is one of emotional creativity that changes our understanding and so answers (that is, delivers an answer) as to what should be done in a situation that has reached its peak. We’re stressed about what to do or choose, feeling emotionally cornered already, and along comes the Lunar event with what’s essentially a creative and emotionally satisfying solution arising either from our ideals or our imagination. Since it’s a Full Moon in Aries, the implication is clear: we’re responsible as individuals for what we do. and the direction we take and, at the time of the Full Moon, we’re hoping our initiative will make some creative magic that will result in more fortuitous change than would’ve been possible just a short time ago–and the Moon in Aries should bring us that hope in the form of real-world circumstances we engineer ourselves.

We should note that the Moon is on its way to a sextile with Uranus, a quincunx with Venus, and then a conjunction with Saturn=the conclusions we reach at the Full Moon then receive an unexpected or chaotic element, one that may show us how inconvenient the cost of getting our way will be, and that may apply the brakes, or allow us to bring our intention into its final, real-world form.

There’s also an Air Grand Trine with the Sun, Pluto, and Uranus retro in Gemini=the mind may be in overdrive, especially as it concerns our relationships or efforts involving others to help us make change–and we can’t help but be surprised by what we learn, with a 50/50 chance we’ll stay cool and so be able to see the bigger picture, to understand, to make it all make sense.

And Mercury and Chiron get in on the act obliquely, with 29 degree Chiron in Aries square that stressed Mars, and an opposition to that Chiron from Mercury in Libra–not at such a late degree, so not in crisis, yet–all of it suggesting that hurt to our egos that we may have failed to recognize could be driving so much here, from our choices and actions to our thinking in regard to others. Just remember, with the wound so open right now, we’re unlikely to perceive others clearly–the focus is too much on ourselves, and our own perceptual state, to read or assess those around us very accurately at present–and that means judgments about others need to be shelved, for now.

There’s also an unusual Finger of God present–I’ll explain why it’s atypical. It consists of Mars at the apex, with a base of the North Node and the Black Moon Lilith point. Immediately we may not see it as a Finger–BML is in Capricorn while the NN is late in Aquarius, and Mars is very late (in crisis, late) in Cancer. It’s only when we look closer that we notice placements are ‘ready to pop’; that is, Mars is ready to enter Leo, BML is early in Cap, and the NN has just recently left early Pisces. If energy reaches out in both directions along the arrow of time, then each of these placements speaks not just of where it’s been but where it’s going, an echo that allows them to relate to one another. To me that suggests that at least part of the ‘what to do or choose?’ solution lies in facing those rules, restrictions, and realities we’ve been avoiding (BML in Cap) and in thinking about the future, specifically acknowledging how our choices may play out in the long term. It’s something to ruminate on, and could deliver valuable insight to inform our decision-making.

The Moon’s Sabian is, ‘Two Lovers Strolling On A Secluded Walk’. The Sun’s Sabian for this Full Moon is, ‘Around A Campfire A Group Of Young People Sit In Spiritual Communion’. When we look at these two symbols in concert, as we do with the Moon-Sun energy at a Full Moon, what we find is that both are concerned with intimate connection among human Beings; when that connection is a spiritual one, one of sharing the essence of who we are, then it makes for the closest thing we can know while in these bodies to being One with the Cosmos. These images suggest to me that if we handle the events and opportunities of this Lunar event well, we’ll discover or deepen our own identity/ role within the larger Universe. Not something measurable, necessarily, but certainly something we can feel, as we plunge ever-deeper into the waters of life.
