The Cancer Moon trines Jupiter (5 AM PST) and opens the floodgates; we deal with waves of emotional memory all day. We may process them as ‘the now,’ fail to recognize the origins of the sensations, and behave as if our responses to today’s events make sense, but in many cases, they won’t. Awareness that we are actually responding from the emotional body helps, but so does a willingness to examine our free-floating hurt; what might it attach itself to now? It’s a good question to ask, as we’ll be dealing with new facets of this all day.

By 1:30 PM-ish the Moon squares Zeus, and the emos take on a tantrum quality; “Why can’t I have  . . .?” becomes the rallying cry, especially when it comes to the appetites and ambitions. This can bring forward some rather ugly feelings of entitlement in some, who demand their way, heedless of the damage left in their wake. For those not on the rampage, it’s mostly a time to lay low and avoid those who are. And a word of warning: the assault can arrive in the most caring wrapper, offering a hug and a mug of cocoa, so don’t assume all Zeusian behaviors will be obvious. (What does Zeus promise? See the lead article in this quarter’s Eclipse for what it brings to interaction.)

6 PM PST the Moon trines Venus. We could not ask for a better aspect under which to socialize, and love won’t do too bad, either. A lovely influence; make it your aim earlier in the day to enjoy it, rather than having to use it to help you smooth over any Zeus-like missteps.

By midnight we see the Moon conjunct the South Node, and we have deja vu all over again, with echoes of the emotional morning; this time they have the ring of nostalgia or the bittersweet tinge of memories recalled (especially of mothering we’ve experienced, or remembrance of any who did–or should have–nurtured us). At this same time the Moon sextiles Sedna and, guess what? whatever we’re feeling–hey! it’s not the feeling we actually connect to it! It’s a feeling about something else! The true emotions are masked, so if we can avoid dwelling on whatever comes up, just let it float away, that might be the best way to handle this goulash.

3 AM PST of the 25th and the Moon trines lovely Pallas; if we’re in need of emotional guidance, this will bring it. Wisdom is ours for the taking (or maybe that’s ‘accepting’).

By 6 AM PST the Moon forms the apex to a Finger of God with the sextile between Ceres and Mercury as the base. This points us in the direction of using the emotions to deal with communications from, to, or with authorities, a radical departure from the way we typically should deal with those in charge. Whatever comes up, run it through an emotional filter; that will either tell you what to do, or reveal what the other party is really doing.
