Ladies have shared their wardrobes since time immemorial. Attributed to Guy Head -‘ Juno Borrowing the Girdle of Venus’ c1771 {{PD}}
Venus conjoins Juno in Libra, and we may see a number of manifestations operating in relationships, typically as a statement of ‘I Am’ in relation to one or more ‘Others’: we could see a love of status, someone ‘married’ to their position, a cooperative situation benefiting one or both parties in finances, offering support, or taking responsibility, empowerment through Love or assets, aesthetic empowerment (that is, taking one’s Art into one’s own hands, or conversely, finally allowing others to contribute what they can to a creation to make it complete), diplomacy meant to gain the upper hand or to express the individual Will, falling in Love with the mate (for the first time or again), enjoying a ‘honeymoon’ of one kind or another, two women, one powerful in her womanhood and one reliant on status to make her impact, in a male’s life the ‘ideal’ mate (according to his own Juno placement) could be introduced, finally getting one’s material due from the mate, or even getting revenge over a betrayal or desertion. Love in the largest sense could imbue one’s position of empowerment; wherever one holds sway, commands, or holds powerful status, one could find Love has become the basis for exercise of that power. There are many ways this could appear, and they are almost certainly of a ‘high concept’ form; we may not see them, but we surely can feel them.
But it’s vital to note that Venus, even as she meets Juno, is parallel Vesta. Love aligned with our highest values and to what we dedicate our lives is a very good thing; it can’t help but keep us attuned to the highest Venusian vibration to which we are open. This, too, is important: to realize that we only get what we’ll let in. We can wish for Love, but if our highest values are centered on dedicating our assets and attention to expressing our talents (Venus), or to making money (Venus), or to the Arts (Venus), we may inadvertently keep Love at bay, believing deep inside that it could distract us. Knowing what we are dedicated to (Vesta) is instrumental in knowing where our energies are actually going, and often tells us why certain desires aren’t being met. Today’s a day when this can be explored, both by examining where our Venus is actively being applied, and by using the mirror of others (Libra) to reflect back to us what we are really honoring, what we’re really engaged with.
The mind can assist this quest, as Mercury sextiles Zeus, making us think along lines that are compatible with our ambitions and desires. As long as we can discern precisely how our values show up in our lives, we can apply the mentality to moving toward goals and dreams; it can make for a lovely meshing of energies that can carry us much farther than naked muscle or mind ever could.
Find where your energies are going, and to what you’re really dedicated in life, with my new book on Vesta–and have a great Wednesday!
I am not trying to single you out, so many (too many) astrology blogs don’t do this, but I wish that authors would post the degree of the event, and if parallel or contraparallel, would post that too. Exact times of events are also helpful. Yes, we can look it up ourselves but it is so helpful if authors include this with their article so that we don’t have to tab away to google this info, or open Solar Fire or whatever other program. That way, I know immediately if these events are aligned with anything important in my chart and I don’t have to get sidetracked into looking all that up. It makes the blogs more relevant if I know it’s going to hit a sensitive chart point for me, as opposed to just being a general effect on everyone. Other than that, thanks for the thoughts 🙂
I understand that this might be desirable, but my focus is on careful interpretation, hopefully of a depth of effect you won’t find on other sites. If you are truly interested in astrology, it’s not a big effort to look up the current degrees for any body; in fact, if you have the time to visit many blogs, it’s a simple matter to be generally aware of the placements of all the relevant bodies, and know what is in the vicinity of your natal placements. You may find this bothersome that specifics aren’t supplied, but I find it amazing that, rather than appreciating the time others take to inform you of their, as you term it, “thoughts” (derived from, as in my case, decades of experience, study, and practice), you complain about not having things spoon-fed to you. You are asking a free service to provide specifics that are very time-consuming to add to the text–but then I think that’s your point, that your time is more important than mine–and in my experience those who complain the most about what others should be providing are also least likely to offer support or buy services, feeling entitled to, well, pretty much everything. You hide behind no name and a masked email address, clearly not wanting to be identified. I will print no more totally anonymous comments. You tempt me to password protect my page. I invite you to go elsewhere.

oh my, not sure what to make of this at the moment and intuitively I’m usually a little ahead of the game but this has snuck up on med from left field and I do know my cape of invisibility has been failing. more noticeable in many ways from all directions good and not, than I have been for a while…the Venus/Juno conjunction is conjunct my ascendant thus opposing Sedna conjunct descendant, inconjunct my Pallas/Juno conjunction in 5th house Pisces and square Saturn in Capricorn and sextile Uranus and north node in Leo…Venus ruled chart…not sure if I feel like I’m on the verge of personal Victory or the Victim trying to rise again…feels like a landslide…but it may prove helpful if i can surf it through…? Its definitely of unknown quantity or destination.
Hi deblil, First, I hope you’re keeping those orbs tight–in order to accurately ‘read’ things on a daily level, the majority of attention must go to close contacts. Since this is hitting your ASC and opp your Sedna, it’s no wonder you feel disoriented, as this contact may make you feel disconnected from instinct and give the feeling ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ (both Sedna), with manifestation coming through real-world matters (Saturn). I would watch for anything centered on expressions of power or values, as those are really what’s in play, and keep your own highest values (Vesta) in mind at all times and especially in decision-making–that way you remain alert to what might be at stake and simultaneously will make choices aligned with your priorities and what you honor. Good luck! jd

Thank you Julie and yes, tight orbs, generally I keep all within 2′ only considering anything wider on the outer planets and then only as an aside, asteroids I keep to withing 1′. It has been a full on time for me and my chart, both natal and progressed for some time, completely being hammered, squashed and most “worldly goods’ demolished or threatened including my physical health in recent years, finally though its being sort of lit up like a Christmas tree from time to time, which is a relief I still have a tree to hang it on lol! It really has been quite amazing, I have felt like my chart has been directly targeted by the universal power so much, lucky I didnt become completely paranoid, even that did threaten hahahahaha!
Nice to hear you “still have a tree to hang it on” 🙂 That’s the way I’m feeling right now, too. When the chart is lit up by contact, we have the chance to harness and direct that energy–sounds like after some rough times, you’re beginning to work very successfully with yours. Wishing you much good luck, deblil!

Well answered, Julie. One should never cast pearls before swine…
You’ve done, as usual, an amazing analysis about what looks like a very promising day!
Let’s all enjoy it then!
Thank you, Katia–you’re very kind.
My Pisces Moon (or rather, my fear of succumbing to my Pisces Moon) insists on some very clear boundaries, so I can become a little touchy when I feel someone pushing past them!
I hope you’re having a lovely day!

Thanks for this, jd, and for everything else, and for meeting halfway when it comes to understanding. For those interested and not already familiar, there are plenty of programs (from free to cheap to expensive), and at least one site I know of, that offer real-time astrological clocks. They involve some tabbing, but will be much easier to influence to your exact specifications. May the one that’s right for you find its way to the degree of your heart (I like ZET).
You’re welcome, and thanks for that recommendation, Zack–there are literally so many places I didn’t know if it was worth bringing a specific one up (as always, though, I like serennu.com) It’s easy enough to follow the transits in the natal chart–but that was the commenter’s point, they didn’t feel they should have to do it–they weren’t looking for a place to track things on their own–and my feeling is, one can do it oneself, or one can have an astrologer do it–but either way, one has to put out (effort, study, time, money) to get back. I hope you’re ready for the New Year, Zack! Best, jd

I have Vesta conjunct Venus in anaretic 29 degree in Taurus, 3rd house, sextile Saturn 29 degrees cancer in sixth house. Juno is exact conjunct Vertex in Virgo, 7 degrees. Reading your post I realised that I am somehow too loyal to people who don’t deserve it.
I can see how that might make for a stressful sense of obligation to others–making responsibility almost a sacred duty, honored above and beyond. And the Juno contact implies you might feel destined to take responsibility, to be ‘in charge’. Certainly that could make for so much dedication that some inevitably goes toward those who don’t deserve it. Now that you see it, though, it becomes a choice–and you can set yourself free. Thanks for commenting, Alice, and good luck! jd
