The 28th is a Good Day To . . . fight for that dream you pursued yesterday! The funny thing is, as soon as you step up to defend it, you’ll suddenly see that there are any number of elements within the social sphere, or opportunities to go forward, that mean you don’t have to fight with anyone, you simply have to proceed. A few will insist on a skirmish, not being flexible enough to change direction on a dime, but everyone else will find, to their relief and delight, that it’s a great time to pursue ambitions and desires, and that their unique and original contributions can find an outlet, and even better, an appreciative audience.

A Good Day To . . . is based on the aspects perfecting on each day, Pacific time.

The 27th is a Good Day To . . . invest in the dream. We are tip-top at bringing our knowledge and experience acquired in the past into the present and giving it useful forms, and we are especially adept today at seeing how to infuse the real with the ideal. Creativity pays off, and relationships that are genuinely loving can take on ideal proportions. Go for it!

After making our case, what we might really need is a quiet place to retreat. ‘The Inglenook in My Studio’ By Mary Hiester Reid c1910

The 26th is a Good Day To . . . be prepared for conflict with your complementary number. That could be anyone, relative to who you are; we see it most clearly in anima/ animus, female/ male contrasts, but really, it can take the shape of any yin to our yang, or vice versa. This could also be seen in the ideal vs. the practical, the factual vs. potentials, or the receptive vs. the assertive–but in any case, be ready to defend your stance, not angrily, but robustly, armed with good reasons why your viewpoint should prevail. And then, let the most worthy position win.

‘The Birth of Aphrodite’ By Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky 1887 {{PD}}

The New Moon in Aquarius (also known as the Chinese New Year) occurs at 1:41 PM PST of the 24th at 4 Aquarius 21, sextile Chiron and square Uranus, but both of those on the wide and separating side, and we can also include a loose novile to Venus in Pisces. That suggests in a psychic sense the New Moon is dangling out there, a loner, an individualist, on its own, birthing something unanticipated, something startling and beautiful–and in Aquarius, that can be something new, modern, advanced, academic, unpredictable, or chaotic.

We may take an intellectual approach to the new feelings sparked at this time, or may discover a new understanding of an already extent situation, and these viewpoints arise from both a shock and a healing moment; those may be the same thing, or two different things, but together end up opening the door brilliantly to a reward, relationship, or ‘treasure’ of great spiritual depth, one that connects us in a unique way to the Collective.

However, there’s nothing brash about what happens here. The shocks are mild, traceable to a recent conflict or difficulty, and perceived in such a way that with a bit of effort, all can be healed, smoothed over, or put right, with the upset likely showing us exactly what we need to see. Conflict with the group is possible, or we may be guilty of erratic behavior, unreliability, or generating chaos ourselves, but it’s within the tumult that we find the seeds of understanding, revelation, and ultimately, acceptance.

The novile to Venus in Pisces holds our ideal of Love, relationship, asset acquisition or talent expression before us, and shows us a clever and inspired way to achieve it; we still have to reach for it, putting in some energy to make it a reality–nothing is guaranteed, and the unpredictable element, if left unaddressed, can take it all sideways in a heartbeat.

The Sabian for the New Moon is, ‘A Council Of Ancestors Is Seen Implementing The Efforts Of A Young Leader’. Here the emphasis is on the experienced group recognizing the innovative leader, with the mention of youth a clue to that figure’s link to Higher Mind–for where else does wisdom come from, if one is short on experience? This implies that the revelations or reveals that accompany the New Moon are informed by a higher intelligence, and that it will take a cooperative effort, or an acceptance by the majority, to implement them.

No matter what form taken by the unanticipated beauty of the New Moon, and no matter how disorganized or shocking it is initially, it promises positives, information that makes our lives better, an understanding that unites rather than divides. It takes our breath away, and shifts our world-view toward the modern, the fresh, the future.

‘Street in Oban, Night’ By James Guthrie c1893 {{PD}}

The 23rd is a Good Day To . . . take a pause, and believe concrete circumstances as they exist, rather than allowing our fears to embroider reality. The danger is we misread fears as instinct and feel compelled to respond to them. The good news is we have a deft touch in the material world, optimism and knowledge that attract reward, wise and clever ways of processing info, and a relationship with Nature that enhances our own authority, autonomy, and power position. Don’t push too hard; it’s the darkest portion of the Dark of the Moon, and so more conducive to introspection and contemplation than to big, showy moves or declarations, as they just won’t ‘stick’.

The 22nd is a Good Day To . . . remember all those ‘I want’ impulses that nearly ran us off the rails yesterday? Well now that same energy has morphed into smart, perceptive, and almost magically transformative urges, making us ‘lucky’ in bringing about change, re-shaping weighty matters, or in eliminating the unwanted. It takes a splash of imagination (which we may resist employing–funny that) and faith in ourselves and our own unique tastes and judgments–but these are warranted, and when put into action clarity of thought/ messaging and the potential for healing are both present.

The 21st is a Good Day To . . . keep our tempers and our egos in check, and our fingers off the launch button. At the same time, we can very successfully create effective, permanent, even transformative change–so, no need to be a wallflower, just keep in mind that we forget there’s a tomorrow at our own peril.

The 20th is a Good Day To . . . think creatively, and consider the ways you can gain in the future. Today we have a special knack for being clever, imaginative, and for inspired thinking, especially when we focus on taking positive steps that have a cumulative effect on the path forward. The only issues occur if we ignore reality or real-world situations as they are, and if we think something good can come out of being destructive or engaging in power plays–it won’t.

The Sun enters Aquarius today, turning our attention to the modern, the innovative, the group, or toward manifesting our own originality. This transit really can make it all feel like a ‘new day’.

astrology, Good Day To . . ., The Astro Essence

‘To Pastures New’ By James Guthrie 1883 {{PD}}

The 19th is a Good Day To . . .ask yourself: why is it that your attention is repeatedly drawn to any number of matters you’d rather ignore, pretend don’t exist, or that make you want to throw a fit? Even the most pleasant of topics somehow gets under our skin, and the whole thing has the unfortunate side effect of bringing things to a halt–or at least, engendering starts-and-stops that are disorienting and irritating in themselves.

There’s really only one answer to why this is happening: because you either need to pay attention to this, unfun as that may be, or there’s something to be drawn from it, a thing or state or conclusion you need to be conscious of. Stop resisting taking the time to consider what needs to be understood or attended to; the sooner you address it, the sooner you’re free of it, and even, may benefit from it.

The 18th is a Good Day To . . . figure out why the urge to be erratic or to surprise others with the unexpected is warring so directly with the desire for stability, regularity, and a measured response. We’re looking for a reaction, or to prove our uniqueness or individuality, and it’s not pretty. Things are flying out of our mouths, and our message is meant to rock others, to cause chaos! And others are shocking us with their message, or openly rebelling, or pulling a disappearing act, too; it’s like a competition to see who can be most outré–but kind of a sad one, as we’re all looking intently at those around us, since our goal isn’t expression, but to elicit a response.

Freeing ourselves from the compulsion to stir it up may be as simple as grounding ourselves. Look to the element of your natal Moon for guidance on what can make you feel secure–which in turn allows you to relax and opt out of the potential rumble. Water signs may need a bath, a swim, a good cry, a spa treatment, or merely to stay hydrated, in order to avoid manufacturing mayhem, while Earth signs benefit from sharing a nourishing meal, doing something highly tactile like sewing, sculpting, getting a massage, or actually getting down and dirty in the garden. Fire signs need activity–the more demands made on the muscles, and/ or the more excitement courted, the better, while Air signs–oh Air signs, always living in your head! Try intense intellectual engagement, whatever allows mental escapism for you, or the opposite, whatever allows you to blank out, a meditative state that goes beyond the usual, giving the feeling of either blending with the Universe or of not existing at all!

Current Moon in Scorpio just means you need to be passionate about your grounding choice, while being sure to soothe yourself even as you don’t ignore reality, or endanger your health or your career.
