The 27th is a Good Day To . . . think about your current reality, and then make the most of it (and possibly substantially gain) by doing the smart thing, the right thing, the thing in line with your true beliefs, the thing that benefits all of us. Opportunities come in this round-about way, and what’s light-hearted, entertaining, or relationship or profit focused reveals a deeper, more serious purpose. It’s a day of Self-trust, and via that trust and a commitment to deal with what’s real, a day that can carry forward profound meaning as to personal purpose. That’s a lot of potential; do your best.

A Good Day To . . . is based on the aspects perfecting on each day, Pacific time.

astrology, Good Day To . . ., The Astro Essence

You’ll feel much lighter if you examine (and so exorcise) those wounds. ‘Wings of the Morning’ By Edward Robert Hughes {{PD}}

The 25th is a Good Day To . . . embrace our hurt, and look closely and with compassion at exactly where that injury came from. I know! Sounds like precisely what we’re trying to get away from, right now–but maybe that’s the point: in facing what’s actually caused hurt, we take the power away from the imprint, the memory, the situation, and re-claim it for ourselves. We do this today and gain, as well as take a step toward supporting our mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional health–and it’s especially vital that we do, as the 26th shines a bright and unforgiving light on our wounds–and that requires us to access two ‘guides’ to actions, choices, and behaviors: we must listen to our own instincts and accept that wispy info that we ‘know but don’t know’, and we must respect both genuine authority (we know that when we see it!) and Mother Nature herself. Both show us the way to heal. Trust yourself, trust your authentic inner voice (rather than the ‘borrowed’ ones we’ve allowed to build a home in our heads), and don’t listen to the ‘crowd’ or succumb to the pressures of the social order.

A Good Day To . . . is based on the aspects perfecting on each day, Pacific time.

A special and heart-felt Thank You to all who reached out through the comments on the last post. It was lovely to hear from each of you. Be well, my friends.

New Moon in Pisces 23 February 2020: A Dawning Awareness

The New Moon occurs at 4 Pisces 28 on the 23rd at 7:31 AM PST, semi-square Venus and loosely semi-square Jupiter (placing the NM at the rough midpoint), sextile Uranus and Mars (again, the NM is caught between them), and in loose trine to the North Node point and loose sesquiquadrate to Zeus-Juno in Libra. A New Moon in Pisces can bring a new dream, a dawning awareness of some new facet of the life, of some burgeoning desire or ideal, or the birth of a vision, fantasy, or even deception that inspires, whether what we imagine is true or not.

In this instance we are offered a spark, a fresh idea, that arises from the difficulty in balancing relationships or the need to earn with the social whirl or with a multitude of opportunities. Our own willingness and initiative, and serendipitous events and ‘coincidences’, shape our life direction and put us in a quandary: do we bow to the needs of others, graciously making ourselves small in order to ‘get along’ (and so, we might imagine, earn their Love), or serve our own ambitions and in the process discover who among our companions supports us, who falls away?

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is, ‘A Church Bazaar’. This is an event where like-minded (we might even say, spiritually attuned to one another) individuals who share a common belief framework about the ‘right’ way to live gather in order to share their handiwork, their creations, in a celebration of fellowship. Nothing wrong with that, right? Except how much do we experience, learn, or test our beliefs if we surround ourselves only with others who share an identical viewpoint to our own? This New Moon may incite a search for the wider world, as we seek the commonalities among, for instance, humankind, or those qualities we share with other sentient beings, rather than shrinking our world down to others who are more like us than not.

Aspects and Sabian combined suggest a need for new and broadening experience with others of the ‘not-like-us’ variety. It dawns on us that there’s more to the world than we suspected. Pisces wants us to dream, wants us to connect with the Collective, wants us to accept and to be accepted–and that last is probably, for anyone, a good place to start.

This is it for at least a couple of weeks. Have a wonderful and safe late winter–see you by spring!

‘The Voice, Summer Night’ By Edvard Munch 1896, The Munch Museum, Oslo, Norway {{PD}}

The 22nd is a Good Day To . . . to respect the unique inner voice we all have, the one that can save us at the last moment, steer us in the right direction, that can channel our most positive attributes into ‘statements’ of action and choice that can define for others (as well as for ourselves) who we are at core. See it as an opportunity to create the changes you want; what you value, what you love, automatically aligns you with your highest values, and so guides choice. The best part is that the inner voice, the wisdom, and our own originality combine to form tomorrow–so if you want to know what’s coming, take careful note of what you do, say, feel today.

‘Watchers of the Stars’ Artist Unknown, 16th century {{PD}}

The 21st is a Good Day To . . . watch out!! Hurt (or even the equivalent of a guilty conscience) is propelling at least some of our choices or actions, and that makes for spontaneity, originality, and unique approaches, but also for accidents, rebellions, and erratic behavior. The more easily we can accept all facets of ourselves (the more open we are to the dimensionality of our Beingness, to what we might judge light and dark, good and bad, positive and negative)–that is, the less judgmental we can be about ourselves, the more likely we are to act in ways that are both empowered and in-line with our ideas of who we are at our best. A few pointers: facts matter, whether we like it or not, the social sphere does have an impact, whether we want to acknowledge it or not, and our strength comes from both acceptance of and understanding of our past, and what important ideas and experiences we’ve brought forward from it.

‘Dream’ By Joan Brull c1905 {{PD}}

The 20th is a Good Day To . . . take advantage of what you know, specifically to make dreams happen. Today features a lovely convergence of opportunity and creative essence; dream big, and view the social landscape in terms of ideals (and judge ‘the facts’ by those, too). Do that, and refuse to be moved to action or to choose based on the influence of all those things you want to deny or that enrage you; that is, don’t be destructively reactive out of avoidance. Do your best to respond out of positives, reaching for a goal, attention on what you want, not on what you don’t.

The 19th is a Good Day To . . . apply your most creative energies and inclinations to those areas in life where you hold absolute power. That may affect many, or may only be relevant to you as an individual, but in any case, the day calls for idealism and imagination actively and cleverly applied–and you’re more than up to it, just as long as you’re not looking specifically for the benefit or payoff to your creative efforts. Forget about what it might bring you, and indulge the dream in its most perfect, and perfectly creative, form; accompanying thinking is smart and practical, though of course, during the retrograde best applied to review and refining, rather than to new commitments.

The 18th is a Good Day To . . . curb all impulses, because the inclination is to charge ahead, no holds barred, and that could result in poor expressions of power and unwise or impractical decisions that reverberate far into the future. What should we do? Be willing to think about how asserting ourselves will affect the road ahead, and as the Sun moves into Pisces, use our imaginations to see what could be, in an ideal world. Oh, and don’t do anything blatantly unhealthy–we’re too susceptible to out-sized impacts to the physical well-being, right now.

The 17th is a Good Day To . . . marry your effective power and real-world efforts to achieving ambition fulfillment and to addressing with the intuitive senses any ‘blind spot’ material that comes forward. The values and standards we believe we hold may be challenged by what’s actually wise or practical in the moment–and we need not to be so proud that we can’t bend to a smarter course. To prevent chafing, be flexible when the evidence suggests modification is needed, and really put your shoulder to the figurative grindstone–with the right attitude, mountains can be moved.

A Good Day To . . . 16 February 2020 Mercury Retrograde: Dreaming Backwards

‘Dreamers ‘ By Albert Joseph Moore c1865 {{PD}}

The 16th is a Good Day To . . . listen. There’s an undertone to events that sneaks up on us, a dull roar that’s easy to dismiss as just background noise. It starts with a handful of contra-parallels, opposition-toned energy duos that enter the arena but don’t necessarily engage directly with each other: Our love for something or someone, our finances, or our relationships themselves are at odds with our own successful empowerment; the messages we receive or our own thinking fails to correctly understand the value (or lack of it) in what’s happening; and we’re likely to be surprised either by ourselves and our reactions or by what receives scrutiny or ‘the spotlight’–and there’s a chance that light will shine directly on something unusual, unique, radical, or original that we’ve done or are pursuing. Can make for a confusing atmosphere, the kind that shakes our confidence in our own identity or beliefs just enough to make us hesitate–and when we do, we should try the recommended listening, as an internal stillness and receptivity will offer (or make the way clear for) what we need to know.

This isn’t helped by the late afternoon Pacific time retrograde of Mercury in Pisces. It kicks in at 12 Pisces 53, with the first aspect it makes a semi-square to Saturn, and the first aspect made to it a square from the Moon in Sagittarius and then a sextile from Pallas and semi-sextile from Venus (over the first two days of the retro, with the order not being especially important). I see the way the retro period starts as a kind of harbinger of what to expect through the cycle; the ‘birth’ of the retrograde, and so its meaning. This time we have the retro occurring in Water, asking us to re-consider how we feel, with that examination of feelings showing us what values and relationships are making the ‘hard edges’ and difficult circumstances in our world. We have the wisdom and practical orientation to address what we see; at the same time, a flood of emotion bolstered by the square from the Moon in Sag, which we might describe as ‘difficult knowledge’, compels us to ‘dream backward’, that is, to assess the current reality, especially the emotional reality, by reviewing what previous dreams and ideals were chosen, which discarded, and how this built things as they are now. Exercise the imagination in the first half of the cycle, and in the latter half, exorcise it, flushing out delusions, misinterpretations, and untenable fantasies that are standing in the way of what you really want.

A Good Day To . . . is based on the aspects perfecting on each day, Pacific time.

We’re finally moving, so I won’t be able to make daily posts as I won’t have access to my computer, but I’ll do my best to pop in when I can. Once we’re settled I’ll resume some sort of regular schedule–’til then, I’ll miss you all!
