Jupiter, Jupiter in Aries, Jupiter in Pisces, Sun square Neptune, The Astro Essence

Jupiter’s lingering at that liminal point, the 29th degree of Pisces, poised to hit the Aries point–and poised, and poised–and we may at this point be feeling like the move into Aries is taking forever–but why are we so anxious for it?

We’re likely seeing it as holding us back, probably in some way we can’t quite define, hobbling our perceptions with that last bit of Neptunian fog that curls right around our eyes and brain and makes everything indistinct. Somehow we believe that everything will be crystal sharp just as soon as the planet moves into Aries, and things will definitely change–but become crisper, allowing us to be more sure of ourselves? Yes, maybe too sure, as ingress to Aries means egos get behind beliefs and push; there’s also the potential for exaggerations of one’s Will, one’s role as leader, or one’s wants–and we’re just as likely to observe these as experience them. Over-blowing our own importance can be avoided with awareness, but the over-blowing of our beliefs really can’t. The danger is we will feel they’re vital, probably not just to our survival but to the survival of the world, carrying a sense that if we all don’t start doing what we believe needs to be done, it may make aggression unavoidable. The argument that going to war, at any scale, is a necessity is the most common way historically that we’ve pushed to have our own way (or one group has pushed to have their way over another). Is aggression ever justified? That’s something we each must answer for ourselves; Jupiter’s journey through Aries will offer us plenty of opportunities to decide where we stand.

But that’s just it: opportunity for the individual to make a mark, to get ‘it’ done, to blossom in terms of affecting who we are and what we produce, will be front and center during this transit–and so offer chances to ‘construct’ the I Am as we’ve always wanted it to be, with retro periods offering re-consideration of our choices and ‘do overs’ for correction, probably focused on assertiveness levels and where we should lead, where we should follow. It may become central to our identity to formulate a philosophy, to adopt a system of belief, to take on religious practice, or to conquer–it all depends on what you choose, which of course speaks to who you are.

By the 20th Jupiter will move into Aries and immediately be closely opposed Ceres and forming a T-square with the addition of Hygeia. Our first consideration may be about health concerns, about diet, about Nature and our relationship to it. It will be the time to focus on our own role within Nature, and any stewardship of it we take on. That launches the identity considerations, and offers a blessedly clear moment when defining who we are in relation to the world we live in becomes our most important task.

Today (the14th) the Sun-Earth T-square with Neptune perfects. It may be difficult to focus, to see clearly, to discern shapes in that fog–but the Sun is shining brightly (at least figuratively!) and if we use what ignites us and what surrounds us (Earth) to orient ourselves, we can make creative progress, especially in terms of seeing what won’t work (the square)–and so then perhaps figuring out what will.

Personal observation shows a predominance of those who are predisposed to lie, to deceive, or to obscure reality are actively at work right now. You know who those people are, and if you’re willing to see what they’re doing, you’ll be able to avoid any pitfalls, including being drawn into their attempts to muddy the Jupiterian waters (that centers on what we will or won’t believe from them, what we will or won’t take as ‘fact’)–but that requires being honest with yourself, in order to not fall victim.

I usually enjoy including a pretty pic with a post, but can’t seem to get one to ‘stick’–sorry about that!

The Meeting of Jupiter and Neptune April 2022 In Their Wake

”Empress Maria’ In A Storm’ By Ivan Ayvazovsky 1892 {{PD}}

The conjunction of two behemoths that everyone’s waiting for perfects just after 7 AM Pacific time of the 12th. Do we have to be that specific? No, big energies push waves before them, like a vessel through water, and as well leave a big wake–that means we feel the effects both before and after they align. So, it’s likely you’re already dealing with, feeling, dodging or, even worse, trying to decipher this slippery combo. It’s my belief that examining the moment of perfection gives us a portrait (a kind of birth chart, a statement of the event) that opens our eyes to the general energies of the meeting–beyond the simple Jupiter + Neptune statement of Big Delusion, Big Creativity, Hidden Facts Revealed, Social Deception, Society’s Ideals Presented, Exaggerating or Broadcasting The Dream (or Discovering the Beliefs or Realities That Support It), The Facts Behind The Image, or The Facts Vs. What We Imagine, How What We Believe Squares With What Is Presented–I could go on, but you get my drift.

For matters where this duo’s effects might show we look to the personal chart and the House where the meeting occurs; we also look to the Houses in the natal chart these energies rule. Some or all of these areas will describe the places (the subjects through which) we as individuals will experience the conjunction. Look for two main components: something that stands out, through exaggeration, attention-grabbing, or through the ways the facts surrounding it pop forward from related circumstances, giving us a read on feasibility; and, in the way the spiritual, the ideals, the creative efforts/ ideas, and/ or places where you’ve been seeking reality, the facts, or the Truth come forward.

Or maybe I should say, where you’ve been seeking, the conjunction brings clarity and perspective–or obscures the unbendable facts–and also threatens to overblow the impacts, making us think the idea, the belief, or the deception much more vast, insurmountable, confusing, or inspired than it really is. A few points of interest: occurring in Pisces makes it all the more difficult to sort out meaning and effects in the moment; be prepared to withhold judgment until the fog clears (i.e., until we’re some distance past the event in both time and space–and by space I mean, in dealing with the House areas affected); the conjunction semi-sextiles Saturn and Eris, occupying their midpoint, while sextiling the North Node point and trining the South, with NN/ Jupiter-Neptune acting as base to a Finger of God, apex Earth in Libra=this points to material results, ones that affect our surroundings, assets, or partnerships, with effects possibly springing from the conflicts already inherent in current realities, and these are directly flowing from the past and shaping the future. Jupiter-Neptune also noviles Vesta in Aquarius on one side and Mercury in Taurus on the other=what we think we honor will be put to the test; it’s a ‘put your money where your mouth is’ situation, in some sense. Leave room to be surprised by how you really feel, but don’t be surprised (or thrown) by what it stirs up in others, including the tendency to blame or project their own upset onto you (thanks, Eris).

The result of all related circumstances may be inspiration or beliefs acted upon, accepted, or instituted before we fully understand them, and circumstances of responsibility, blame, or dedication coming to the fore. These energies are also slated to shape the life direction, and so our future–so awareness of the possibilities in how our choices could play out will be paramount to dealing with things successfully.

Enjoy your week!

New Moon in Capricorn 2 January 2022 A Grounded Utopia

Map of Utopia By Abraham Ortelius c1595 {{PD}}

A New Moon in Capricorn promises a fresh emotional grounding, a window during which we see what can bring us a sense of security and a feeling of accomplishment. This New Moon in Cap (2 January 2022 at 12 Capricorn 20 at 10:34 AM PST) brings a little something more: a sense of what’s truly real-world possible for us in the near-future, indicated by the close semi-sextile of the New Moon to Saturn in Aquarius. The conduit the New Moon creates between the ancient and modern rulers of Aquarius, Uranus (which trines the New Moon) and Saturn (which aspects and rules the New Moon and is currently in Aquarius), allows for a harmonious marriage of what is with what could be–but it’s up to us to follow a few simple New Moon hints that will allow us to guide our own personal progressive vision to successful realization.

Is it a reality check if we’re already clear on circumstances, but are shown possibilities for the future? Current energies are operating in a kind of flux that turns the meaning of a reality check on its head; instead of showing us where we’re disconnected from the true nature of things, we’ll be shown how completely aware we are of what is, and how our reality can fold outward from itself, how it and we have the momentum to bring about a bright, shining, personal utopia–or at least, we’ll have the ability to see it, reach for it, aim for it.

The New Moon is novile the South Node, suggesting we have a (temporary) genius for parsing the past and extracting resources, particularly things we’ve discovered or learned (SN Sagittarius) that can help us build our brave new world. The Lunar event is also trine Uranus and sesquiquadrate the close Sedna-Ceres conjunction, all in Taurus. Here the New Moon emphasis may be on innovation, realizing (as in making real) our own original ideas and impulses, and finding ways to create change or progress that both supports and makes use of our instincts and ‘what we know but don’t know’, and that can effectively draw on the actual personal power situation we have command over. It’s all about material or conceptual changes that implement our most unique visions; it’s a statement, presented via the feeling nature: we have what we need to make ‘it’ happen–go out and do it!–and that may introduce the element of surprise, to ourselves at what we’re capable of or equipped for, and to those around us, who may not have realized we are ready and able to shape the future as we truly want it to be (and an approaching semi-sextile of the Sun-Moon to Mars in fiery Sagittarius puts the responsibility on each of us to do what we know is right, in terms of our own knowledge and beliefs).

But, we must first know what those beliefs are, before we can act on them. We have an intriguing Sabian Symbol for this New Moon, one that seems especially applicable, considering the way idea inception seems to be so prominent at this time: ‘A Fire Worshipper Meditates On The Ultimate Realities Of Existence’. The symbol speaks of a dynamic individuality that steps outside its own action urge in order to contemplate the larger mysteries of the Universe. This may indeed be what we do: we may feel grounded, and therefore safe, in taking a pause in order to understand what lies beneath the reality that surrounds us. In doing that, we better see and understand the implications that our own actions may have. A thoughtful period before implementation of goals is required before proceeding; don’t allow yourself to think that this caesura is a waste of time, as without it you won’t truly understand the ultimate effects of what you’re doing.

Also of note: the recent foray of Jupiter into Pisces only aids us in accessing our dreams. The ancient ruler of the sign offers an energy that can lift the innovation and originality to new heights, and can free imaginative and creative impulses that can inform our efforts and our creative product–however, don’t lean solely on the Jupiterian impulse to get things done–you’ll go wildly off-track if you do–instead accept the need for constraint and emotional discipline the Lunar event will remind us of, and use it to harness our natural largesse and generative ability in service of our New Moon new beginnings.

I want to thank my Readers for their support and participation in 2021, and I hope to see each and every one of you here again in 2022. Happy New Year! Sending you all heartfelt wishes for a safe and happy year ahead.
