10 June 2019 Ambition But No Opportunity

By Robert Henri 1914 {{PD}}

You know what happens when we have ambition but see no opportunities before us, right? We try to make our own–and today is one of those days, when we’ll need to step up and advocate for our own causes, push our own agenda, and make what we care about or want our priority. What’s making the scene seem so bleak is every matter ignored or denied by everyone, now creating barriers and preventing easy movement, and this root cause in most cases won’t be visible to us–we’ll probably believe the landscape is barren due to ‘luck’, or more specifically its lack, but common sense tells us circumstances did not create themselves. We don’t need to place blame, but an awareness that current issues and blocks are man-made will help us deal with them–as anything done can in some form be undone–so that should give us heart, and prevent a fatalistic point of view dominating.

Two warnings, while we’re dealing with this set of influences: 1) our thinking is too materially-focused and in itself too ambitious to actually be wise–it’s a prime situation with the potential for mistaking what we want for what’s smart–and 2) the reality picture is not showing us any encouragement, any clear avenues on which to go forward–and that’s because at this time, we need to be willing to build those roads ourselves. Once we accept our own agency, we’ll find our attention going exactly where it needs to–so even if it doesn’t appear that what we’re dealing with serves our ultimate ends and ambitions, know that it really does.

For those born with the Sun at 20 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, this solar year, through to your next birthday, you have the right combination of ambition, goals, serious intent, and real-world practicality to make significant gains, attract Love, or create profits or Art. There’s a swell of creative energy that can drive your dreams; all you have to do is go after them, be aware of the reality picture, and look for opportunity. You may balk at some of the things you might be required to do, and if you find yourself unwilling, then you know that wasn’t really your dream, it was a distraction–in which case, your duty is to go out and discover what you really want. You have the energy and the mojo to be successful–use this period of clear perceptions and fortuitous judgement to make it happen.

9 June 2019 Failing The Dream

How are we failing to support our own dream? That may be the (harsh) question we put to ourselves today, or maybe it’s pointed out by circumstances, but either way, we become aware of some way in which we aren’t serving those idealized goals put forward, consciously or not, by the Soul. This is not something to beat yourself up about; it’s merely a chance to re-align and fine tune, to re-dedicate energy that may have been useful elsewhere, temporarily. In this case, our actions and choices, rather than circumstances imposed externally, are the core reason we’ve strayed, and the central means of getting back to where we want to be–so that means it’s entirely in our own hands. Our attention can be focused through the material, and through those causes and commitments we embrace. Serving these, by honoring them, re-dedicating ourselves to them, or simply by giving our full awareness to the reality of things, will bring us back to our intended path. Too, take care that you aren’t misled today–we’re susceptible to the illusion, to the sleight of hand, to the gossamer mirage spun before us by the ill-informed, or by those with ill-intentions. Eyes on what we find sacred prevents us falling for deceptions.

For those born with the Sun at 19 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). It’s your year, dear Gemini, now through your next birthday, to test your dreams, and to make the viable ones happen. This may come about through less than comfortable circumstances, ones that carry an emotional impact, but that are designed to show you potentials, as well as what are for all intents and purposes impossibilities. This can be an exciting and rewarding period, if you hold your dreams in a relaxed, relatively open hand, and remember that they don’t belong to you, so much as rest in your care so that they can be realized. You may find just the right partner this year for meeting goals and bringing ambitions to reality–but be very clear about what is and is not the province of any partnership you enter into, as confusion of roles is a distinct possibility. Opportunities, especially to alter the reality picture, are yours–shape things wisely. Good luck!

8 June 2019 Soul Retrieval

We may see something from the past, something misunderstood or disregarded at the time, that needs acceptance and incorporation into our lives. This may come as a surprise to us, and those of us who want to leave the past behind may be dismayed, but this will turn out to be a necessary bit of Soul retrieval, meant to bring us closer to a conscious sense of wholeness. It may come about through a power struggle, or one to set ourselves or someone/ something else ‘free’, or could be an accidental result of expressing our own power, but in any case, comes about as we ‘listen’ to our inner prompts and respond to what we ‘know but don’t know’, bringing back a piece of spirit, one temporarily lost by believing others over our own instincts.

For those born with the Sun at 18 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, This solar year, through to your next birthday, creativity and fertility of all kinds is high, arising out of a need to tell your story. The creative urge may, in fact, overwhelm all other considerations, though ostensibly your attention will likely be on ambitions, looking for opportunities, and trying to have a real-world impact. If you don’t already have them, please develop one or more avenues through which that creative flood can express itself–if you neglect to, you could find yourself drowning in emotion and frustrated by a lack of forward progress. Also benefiting you this year: thinking before you do, and using your personal authority to avoid hurting others, just as much as you’ll use it to avoid getting hurt yourself. Good luck!

‘An Experiment on a Bird in an Air Pump’ By Joseph Wright of Derby 1768 {{PD}}

Ideas may be original or unusual today, and it’s this breath of fresh air that makes it prime time for negotiating our ‘territory’ and for getting what we want. What occurs to us may be so out of the ordinary that it takes us out of our comfort zone–and in this case, that’s very good, creating circumstances where it’s exceptionally safe to roll the dice, to experiment (mostly–the exceptions may be if we are merely power-seeking, or if we intend to cause harm). Too, once we step up and show ourselves to be fully present, we have the chance to resolve ambiguities with something or someone we care about, and so have the chance to heal the relationship or the wounds to our psyche caused by this connection previously.

For those born with the Sun at 17 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, it’s clear as day that you need to review your past, resolve it, and then modify the path you’re treading so that it takes you, in as straight a line as possible, in your desired direction. It appears what happened before has somehow exerted too strong an influence, and you’ve allowed this to alter the dream, to the point you may not even recognize it, anymore. This solar year, through to your next birthday, is your breakthrough year, the one where you set your course precisely as you want it to be. Eventually, this adjustment will lead to greater creativity and attract opportunities you never would’ve seen if you had stayed compromised by the past. Good luck!

Today the goal may be to show our uniqueness, to display our originality, and what we must negotiate is how much leeway we actually have to show who we are. The guise we normally take in order to move through the social milieu safely may be slipping–or maybe we’ve thrown it off, no longer willing to hide those things that might bring social disapproval, not because they are morally or ethically wrong according to our sphere, but because they aren’t judged to be cool. And holding oneself back out of fear of being judged is a total shame, my friends.

Be who you are, without reservation, without intimidation, and be confident in this expression. You’ve got two big positives going for you: 1) what you love is firmly aligned with instincts and deep Self-knowledge, meaning that surrounding yourself with what’s loved, whether people, other living things, your creations, or your surroundings, will open the way to understanding, and so make any Self-expression you undertake absolutely true to you, and 2) whether consciously or unconsciously done, you are facing, dealing with, and making the most of those matters you’ve been ignoring or denying–and again, the way is opened for Self-expression unique to you.

It’s this expression, almost unavoidable today, that draws opportunity and expands our world and our reach, largely through a variety of unexpected reactions, accidents, surprises, and revelations. To be free of fear in expression is to accept yourself completely–and from there, living free follows.

For those born with the Sun at 16 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, one of your surprising strengths this solar year, through to your next birthday, will be an uncanny ability to understand what other people are really about. This may come without words, in images in the mind or in sudden ‘knowing’, but however it arrives, you will have an advantage–use it wisely–that is, use it to elevate yourself by treating the other person in a more sympathetic way than you might have otherwise. Doing so will win you friends in places you never would have found them in earlier times, and also purifies your own interactions with the world so thoroughly that you gain (status, rewards, partners) by no more effort than visualizing what you want for your future. So that sounds good, right? Good luck, Gemmy!

Whether it’s internal or external, in our minds or in our relationships, whether we experience it alone or in the company of countless others, we’re due some brilliant chaos, a crashing and colliding of ideas that will take unexpected shapes and offer inventive options and answers to questions we didn’t even know we were asking. This may come in the form of opposites: wounds that show us our strengths, dangers that reveal the extent of our empowerment, passions and what we love versus doing what’s practical and smart, and of course, testing the validity of our ideals through real-life implementation and commitment. Not necessarily an easy day, but a massively illuminating one, if we can assess what happens impersonally and then see how it can be applied in the most personal of ways.

Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). This coming solar year, dear Gemini, through to your next birthday, may be one long, sensitive time, when feelings are acute and tender and will affect the health of every life area–and in so doing, bring about some distinctive learning or exploratory situations. Your surroundings may change as a result of challenges to your feeling nature and perceptions, and you may find yourself repeatedly weighing the power balance. This is good, as you see just where your ‘muscle’ lies. This year, to gain or within relationships you do best to listen to instincts and those ways you ‘know but don’t know’–just take care not to confuse knowing with wanting. Good luck!

If you’re looking for the New Moon report of the 3rd, it’s here–

Are we confused about what we’re dedicating our lives to, or is it that we don’t understand it, don’t see it clearly, or is it that we’re following an ideal that may or may not have a real-world application? Something in us is stirring, an inner knowing that’s trying to bring vital info to consciousness, so that our actions and choices have meaning relevant to us, as individuals, as necessary keepers of our own flame. Our dreams are calling, and if we can’t pinpoint the corollary to what we’ve imagined and long for, then what are we doing? Today we might have to face this, maybe via a challenge to our personal authority, to our sense of worthiness or beauty or talents, or through the social sphere as it asks us (not in a disapproving way) to show the world who we are. We think in terms of caring, what we and others are motivated by and for, and this helps jog loose that sense of knowing, but feeling it’s just outside our grasp. Something today brings that closer to our awareness–watch for it.

For those born with the Sun at 14 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, What in the world do you want most? This solar year, through to your next birthday, you must use a combination of instinct and active, present-moment intuition to get it, and that might be a real challenge for someone who wants to apply their brain to literally every task–as I’m guessing you are. The other things you can do include using your personality in new ways (that will bring new responses from the world around you) and working to take real-world (rather than just mental) steps toward building what you want. In case nobody’s told you, you have a right to have it, just as long as you put in the effort, and don’t cause any harm along the way–now go get it, and good luck!

If you’re looking for the New Moon forecast, please click here–

Does your sense of personal authority include seeing yourself as an authority for others? Or do you see yourself as singular, Self-responsible but not in the market to tell others what to do? We’re naturally inclined at the moment to think in terms that are most healthy for who we are at core, and that means that if our personal position of authority is too narrow (only encompassing ourselves) or too broad (seeing ourselves as having inappropriate dominion over others) we will feel uncomfortable in that position–and that may prompt changes or confrontations in the power arena.

So, gauging the extent of authority appropriate (acceptable) to you is necessary, along with giving Love or your wallet a good purging (that is, throw out all that needs to go, the attitudes, the untruths, the ugly bits we may be clinging to so we can pull them out at the next fight, and those things that have died–dump the corpses of long extinguished passions and sources of support–it’s time). Eye on the future, we go forward less burdened, lighter, purer.

For those born with the Sun at 12 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). You’re reaching a height, a zenith, this year, dear Gemini–but what does this really mean to you? You may be unsure, but what I can tell you is that you’ve already suffered the shocks, received the surprises, learned the lessons, and now you are shaping, forming, experimenting with what you gleaned from those experiences, honing it into a fine wisdom and a whole new set of skills. That’s all for the good, as sooner rather than later you’ll need to be very clear on what it is you honor, what you find sacred, what you want to dedicate your life energy to, and if you’re not ready to really commit, you could find yourself in the awkward position of having all you need and yet not going forward. Be ready for your close-up, and good luck!

3 June 2019 New Moon in Gemini: Evolved Beyond

‘Butterflies’ By Odilon Redon c1910 {{PD}}

The New Moon occurs at 3:01 AM PDT of the 3rd at 12 Gemini 33. This event makes only two reasonably close aspects to other bodies: a semi-square to Vesta and a trine to Pallas. A New Moon in Gemini ushers in a new way of thinking, probably centered in the matters of the House of the natal chart within which this falls. The aspects tell us that what arises from (or sometimes ushers in) this change is a challenge to the highest values, something that comes forward and dares us to defend our commitment, our cause, what we honor or find sacred–and the great thing about this is that it shows us the wisdom (or lack of it) within our choice. Is our energy well dedicated? Are we on a sinking ship? Have our values and priorities changed over time such that this cause isn’t really ours, anymore? The New Moon shows us, in largest terms, how and where we have evolved beyond the current ideas we carry–and that will carry clues as to where we put that energy now.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is, ‘A Famous Pianist Giving A Concert Performance’. Considering that the NM event contacts Vesta, the body that describes what we revere, what we ‘worship’, in many senses, and that it also contacts Pallas, which can describe skills, we might see this symbol as expression of a well-developed skill or ability. The New Moon, then, might show us either that we have reached a peak in development in some area where we’ve dedicated ourselves and now must find a new form or direction, or it shows us the potential for mastery that dedication will bring.

The House in the natal chart that holds Gemini should offer some personal guidance and some hint as to what the New Moon might bring, and for all of us, it offers a ‘new way’ to think of something important to us, something that may be vital to the overall health and development of the Collective, and to our contribution to it.

For those born with the Sun at 13 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, what is it that you’ve just begun? The solar year, through to your next birthday, may be keyed to this, or to some Lunar (read, ‘intuitive or emotional’) matter that is developing, growing, and that may figure large in your life very soon. Down sides to your year may feature a too-fixed mindset that doesn’t accept a new idea easily, and a tendency to exaggerate both your own willingness to do something and your ability to do it, and Up sides include rewards commensurate with the extent of honest, serious change you undertake. At some point there may be a showdown over personal power issues, but if you remind yourself of what really matters to you, you’ll know exactly how to handle it. Good luck!

The post for 2 June follows at 7 AM Pacific time on the 1st, as usual.

1 June 2019 More?

Do we ever ask ourselves if we really even want more? We just assume more of something desirable will help us, but today we have to face the question of what having more really means–and no matter what we’re wanting, no matter what we’re talking about, there are two potent and inescapable results: one, that the bounty that comes at us, whatever form it takes, will force us to adjust our concepts of our own empowerment, status, and reach, and two, having more will require changes to our belief system. Period. We just won’t come out of today without significant alterations to the way we see the world, and the way we see ourselves in it.

For those born with the Sun at 11 Gemini. Check your natal chart for the correct Sun degree (you may want to read both the degree number and the one that follows, if you have minutes on your Sun position–together these offer a more complete picture of your year ahead). Dear Gemini, For much of this coming solar year, through to your next birthday, you may find it very difficult to know how you feel about . . . everything. Just know: that’s okay. There’s no real requirement for you to be able to state who or what you care about. All you have to do is behave in a way that is respectful of others, that allow others their autonomy, that is discrete without being secretive or withholding, and by the time you reach your next birthday, if not before, what really matters will be crystal clear to you. So, don’t strain yourself; instead bide your time, cause no harm, and before you know it, you’ll know exactly what to do. Good luck!
