There'll be a moment when we can glimpse our own minds clearly 13th Century Turkish {{PD}}

By 2:30 AM PDT the Moon sextiles stationary Mercury–it’s like an emotional thought-pause, and time can stand still. This gives us a glimpse at the mind as it is, without the typical in-motion view that makes it hard to pinpoint what we’re really about mentally. Can show us unusual things about our thinking and give us an objective view about the way we process life.

11:30 AM Pacific sees the Moon at the midpoint of Vesta/ Mars; actions chosen are seen as sacred–we feel their rightness, but must be careful not to throw the ego’s wants into the same sacred basket. 1:30 PM PDT and the Moon is conjunct Neptune–wrapping emotion up in inspiration or fantasy, we fuel ourselves up for a big push forward!

Void occurs at 3:22 PM PDT, with the Moon entering Pisces at 3:38 PM

You may, for instance, muffle your fear of heights when you really shouldn't Alma-Tadema 1895 {{PD}} via Wikimedia Commons

Just before 5 AM PST the Aquarius Moon trines retrograde Saturn (and remember, Lunar aspect effects can stretch a couple of hours either side of exact–I name the time close to exact). I usually don’t make much of retrograde or direct–in my view only the turnaround points carry much punch, since we may feel these–otherwise a retrograde stance is simply a perception in relation to the Sun–and so, something of an illusion :) but I want to note that Saturn’s retro as the Moon trines it and, of course, we are still in Dark of the Moon territory–and all that may add up to easily muffled or ignored thoughts about emotions (the ‘thought’ part supplied by the two Air placements). This can also translate as ignoring our intuition or having it ‘drowned out’ by mind chatter or rationalization. Mark this period as a time to refuse to let thought overrun feeling, because the potential to be mislead by our own rationalizations (Saturn) is strong.

Thanks to all who’ve subscribed–so much support is fantastic (beyond what I dared to hope for!) and I appreciate it tremendously; it makes my job that much more fun, knowing I’m writing to real people who care! If you look closely, you'll see a figure observing the storm in the lower right corner of the pic Huthsteiner 1888 {{PD}}

The Aquarian Moon translates the energies from Mars to Pluto and vice versa around the 9 o’clock hour AM Pacific–and this may make for some temper and emotionalism that almost seems unexplainable–think of it as two live wires (Mars and Pluto) connecting and having their current carried through the emo nature of the Moon, with one possible scenario consisting of the intuitive nature putting two and two subliminal clues together and it all suddenly making sense–in any case it’s a ‘tempest in a teapot’ since this is happening during the Dark of the Moon–and the Moon’s sextile to Jupiter around 11 AM adds a jolt of exaggeration–but after this the volatility should fade.

3 February 2011: Decision Day

ECLIPSE Newsletter, Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

Photo by Andreas Praefcke Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported Thank you Andreas!

It’s decision day–or maybe not, considering this excerpt from the Lunar outlook on the ECLIPSE readers protected page:

The Moon in Aquarius may have to struggle for our attention; with Sun conjunct Mars also in the sign of the waterbearer, the emotions may feel shunted to the side–it may be like the ego/ identity asserting itself will take center stage, and the feelings will be filtered through the intellect (Aquarius). It may make for a disconnected feeling that seems to be all ‘I am, I want.’ Sensitives may be just that; like an open wound, we may seek to assuage an unattributable sadness or hurt, but the mind makes a poor band-aid, and we could end up feeling woefully neglected in our quest to just feel better.

I’m going to spend the day meditating on whether to continue public posts at all; being ripped off is not a good feeling, especially when the perpetrators hide behind cutesy screen names, which are supposed to indicate they are One with Nature and therefore what they do is GOOD, and who become indignant, screeching about their rights, when they are asked to remove stolen material. I won’t even approach these people anymore. The internet seems to have spawned a group of users who believe that to exploit the work of others is their privilege; it’s already driven some of my colleagues to leave the scene entirely. So, I invite those who want to continue to read what I have to say to subscribe–this seems to be the only way I can control access to my work, and to earn a decent wage. I know many are on tight budgets–but after years of showing up, day after day, and delivering free content, only to have it taken by others, I’m fairly sure I’m getting off this merry-go-round. Consider that you don’t go to work for free–and neither should I. Here’s an example: say I make lovely ceramic ash trays !!! and there are samples of my ceramic creations that I give away, and we are at a fair (the internet) where everyone has a table. Say someone comes to my table and takes armloads of my samples and puts them on their table. They think my samples are pretty and believe they will draw attention to their work. When I object, they say, “But you’re giving them away, so why can’t I take them and use them to get people to come to my business? I’m not selling them–I’M TAKING YOUR WORK AND GIVING IT AWAY”–but they are selling memberships (or other things) at their table–And that’s where they miss the point–it’s my work, and copyright laws allow me (and my heirs for seventy years after my death) to decide what happens to it–not someone trying to drum up membership sales at their Magical Mystical Fairy Forum–where most of the content is ‘borrowed’ and that’s what you’re supposed to pay them to see!

So, I will spend the day thinking on it–and believe me, this is the last time I’ll address it. (I hear a massive sigh of relief! I think that was me and everyone else!) Consider that the cost of a subscription to my newsletter is equivalent to one latte a month, is less than the cost of a single pack of cigarettes, one movie ticket, or one microbrew, per month, and that the newsletter and protected page provide guidance, astrological instruction, and a wee splash of entertainment–and then you can make your decision, too.

Many thanks to those who have subscribed–watch for an EXTRA! to your email later today.

2 February 2011: The New Moon-Where It Begins

ECLIPSE Newsletter, Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary, New Moon, New Moon Sabian

By mattinbgn distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license

The February New Moon is at 13 Aquarius 53 at 6:29 PM Pacific on the 2nd. We have some very interesting aspects within our 2 degree orb. The Sun and Moon are flanked like royalty (a tribute from the balancing companion of Leo?) with Ceres on one side and Mars on the other. Protected by the Warrior and Mother Nature, we have to ask, What’s so important that it causes the New Moon to rate an honor guard?

Maybe it’s the trine to h. Zeus; coupled with the Aquarian placement of Ceres, Moon, Sun, and Mars, we may see a seed planted for a revolutionary personal plan that expresses a strongly-held ambition or desire. It will need the support of the ego, the Will, the guidance and wind-at-our-backs aid of Mother Nature, and can definitely be called a Plan for the Future. Think carefully about your options, and be sure you are both enthusiastic (Mars) and in sync with what’s natural for you (and this should play to a strength, some area or asset where you have authority–Ceres).

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon might give us a bit of a chuckle: ‘A Train Entering A Tunnel’ In true old Hollywood fashion, we can laugh at the Freudian symbolism formed in cultures so repressed (the Victorian) that even roasted turkey legs wore ‘skirts’ for modesty! And once we’re done laughing, we note that this is just another way of talking about the seed, inception, insemination, beginning, the sense of which has already been floating around, looking to find fertile ground that we’re willing to tend.

For more on the New Moon, look-ahead forecasts, articles, and more, get a 3 month subscription, link at right. Thanks!

PS IF YOU SEE MORE THAN A PARAGRAPH OF THIS POST AT OTHER THAN AN APPROVED AGGREGATOR (listed at right) THEN YOU’RE LOOKING AT STOLEN MATERIAL. I’ve once again had the entire post taken–is there a link to this blog? Yes; MY STATED POSITION IS THAT THIS DOES NOT MITIGATE YOUR NEED TO RESPECT MY COPYRIGHT. Does the taking of nearly the entire post (she conveniently left out only the brief final suggestion that if you want more you can subscribe) violate my terms of use? Yes. What stops these people from simply asking permission? I guess thieves don’t think it’s worth building relationships and respecting others. I’m just about ready to quit posting publicly at all.

Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

JG Hinz c.1660 {{PD-Art}} Wikimedia Commons

11 AM PST the Moon’s conjunct Neptune, and soon thereafter conjunct Chiron. Can we separate these two conjunctions? or must Neptune/ Chiron blend into a stringy, sticky fondue that coats the emotions (mmm, cheese metaphors!) We can separate them, oh so carefully, as they are almost an entire degree apart; that means that it’s a little like a one-two punch (or maybe nudge, or gentle smothering with a soft pillow!) The emotions undergo an exercise with these two contacts, the first likely testing the emo connection to reality via ideals and a review of what’s fantasy, what’s fact, followed immediately by an emo response of wounding or a bringing forth of skills to deal with disparities. There can be another response, one where the intuition is fully activated and connected to the Cosmos, and this offers a hotline to answers sought and insights desired, with a really strong link to activating the Chirotic skills, perhaps at an elevated, transpersonal level. A great aspect, if you can rock it!

Venus moves into 00 Sagittarius, with an interesting result–we take a sudden turn from the sex drive (in whatever form that might take, meaning it’s the passionate focus we’ve recently maintained) to a gaze that focuses on the horizon, to a want for more freedom in relationship, to an idea that value is found ‘out there’–and this is always an abrupt shift when Venus moves from Scorpio to Sag–just orient yourself to the inevitable change to what attracts your attention, and you won’t be thrown.

After Michelle at AstroFix pointed out the wrong date in the title (Thanks Michelle!) I realized that I’d actually projected a year ahead, not back to December 2010–so as an exercise, I’m going to look at everything today as carrying a special message about where I’ll be next December–you might want to try it, too!

Noonish Pacific the Moon quincunxes the South Node, adding what I’d describe as an ‘intentional tone’ to the intellectual preoccupation with all things Aquarian. This is an emotional checkpoint–after all, the Nodes are ‘points of extremity’ for the Moon itself–the result may be a startling and sudden awareness of emotional changes, a ‘then v. now’ moment that shows you just how far you’ve come, and what in your emotional picture has changed. The atmosphere is free-wheelin’ on this energy through the rest of the day; to see more of what’s happening, scroll down to the view of the week, below, or get your password with purchase of the Fall issue of ECLIPSE, links at right, second category from the top.

8-9 December 2010: Frustration, One Way or Another

Read the description of this odd print here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Richard_Arkwright_dismissing_his_wife.jpg

Void begins 5:08 PM PST of the 8th, with the Moon’s entry into Aquarius coming at 11:30 PM PST. This is notable mostly as offering denizens of the Western Hemisphere uncertain evening proceedings. Particularly in Western time zones, the atmosphere could be one of seriousness that in spite of itself can’t really accomplish anything–there’s just no energy (the meaning of a Void period) behind any efforts–and Cappy hates to be thwarted. Frustration can lead to cross words and temper tantrums–all to no avail. With the Moon’s entry into Aquarius, energies turn philosophical, and we gain a little mental distance, allowing for assessing where things just weren’t going well. First aspect of note that breaks us out of our critical revery is the Moon’s square to Venus, 9 AM-ish PST of the 9th; why is it that just when we’re feeling good about our minds we start to worry about our looks? or our relationships, or our money? Things take a devilish turn as we overthink and over-analyze; this overwrought contemplation could take up our whole day–and it’s not helped by the pressure of Mercury’s imminent retrograde.

ECLIPSE Readers: There is a LOT of new material on the Private Page, including info on Merc Retro and its effects; if you don’t have your password yet, get it with $4.95 purchase of ECLIPSE Astrology Journal http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Includes 3 month access (November, December, January) to all the password-protected Private Pages here at the site, and includes Mercury Retrograde info and will cover the upcoming Eclipses! 13 November 2010: Confusion or Creation

ECLIPSE magazine, Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

The remainder of the 13th sees the Aquarius Moon conjunct both Neptune and Chiron–do we feel confused with this, or laser-focused on our creative, imaginative, or healing and/ or hurting energies? It’s both our choice and an expression of our inclinations, what results from this–but we can train things in a positive direction if we’ll only concentrate on putting the energy out; if we should instead be inclined to sit back and be too passive, we may brood about our injuries–and that will waste the strong potential for smart creative choices with this influence.

To read more of this forecast, buy ECLIPSE, which comes with access to the Private pages here at the blog http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Thanks!

November 10-12: Sacred and Solar

Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary

By evening of the 9th we see the Sun and Vesta still very close together in Scorpio, and this continues through the 12th; the melding of the Solar energy and the sacred principles of life makes for a monolithic sense of authority to those things that are illuminated in our lives–look to the natal House where this meeting is occuring (around 17 Scorpio) to know where that idea of sacredness is applying. For instance, in the 1st House this may imply a feeling that you have the answers to what’s most important now, while in the 8th House the assets of others may seem to be the thing that must be respected. It’s a feeling that will permeate the next few days, so take a moment to pinpoint it and work it out.

Read more of the forecast for the rest of the week at the Private Pages here at the blog, accessible with purchase of ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Thanks!
