The Essence for the Pisces New Moon, 4 March 2011: Adjustment

I know this shows a more-than-New Moon, but I liked the idea that they had come out to enjoy the night, and only one seems just now to be noticing Moonrise B. Constant 1902 {{PD}}

The Pisces New Moon occurs on the 4th at 12:45 PM PST at 13 Pisces 55. Saturn in Libra quincunxes the Moon/ Sun combo, as does h.Zeus in Libra–and those are the only aspects. This suggests that the New Moon will birth the need for adjustment in our lives, adjustment that is called for by Saturnian factors like rules, regulations, boundaries, and the material surroundings, even reality, as the New Moon will shed light on it in a way that the need for modification cannot be denied. An interesting point is made, though, when we include h.Zeus: the need for adjustment could, for at least some of us, come about because of the manifestation or fulfillment of a desire or ambition–so adjustment may be a very positive thing, indeed. For others, it could imply the need to recognize that those ambitions and desires will never be fulfilled, that Saturn puts up a solid wall and says, “Not one step further.”–and to adjust the life in a different direction, as a result.

And on an odd note, what movie opens here in the US today? ‘The Adjustment Bureau’  So go figure!

The Essence for 3 March 2011: What We Want, What We Do

Suspend your worries--just dance a little. Toulouse-Lautrec 1892

The Sun will be quincunx my pet theoretical provocateur, h.Zeus, and that suggests that our ambitions and desires will be eating at us, requiring our accommodation, even as we may ignore, misinterpret, or deny our needs–for ambitions are a form of need. Though they may take a shape that’s really not something that should be on our plate (the hopelessly uncoordinated person who aspires to be a world-class athlete, perhaps) they serve to move us forward, to give us a model of perfection in whatever we’re striving for–and thus should be respected, even as we must recognize our own true talents and abilities. Ultimately fulfillment of ambitions and desires becomes a dance between wanting the ideal and what we are–and this aspect offers us a point where, if we are attentive, we can modify our practice to be more effective in moving us toward our goals.

Around 11 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Mars and sextiles Pluto–it’s a major impetus to change and to act to change, with the urge to act focused in the House Mars is now transiting, the House where natal Mars is located and the matters of the House he rules–but the effects may leak out through the positions of transiting Pluto and natal Pluto (and perhaps through the House he rules). It’s a little tricky: though we act over here, in Mars territory, we get effects over here, where Pluto hangs out. Think about to where the results of your actions might funnel before you make a move–it’s not that things will be disastrous, but just that we need to see the chain of reaction rather than just assuming we know how our actions will ‘ripple out.’

Note Mars conj. Sun trine Saturn, making the aggressive, assertive, and ego-led impulses especially felt (and especially effective). Think carefully about the impact you want to have, as you will almost certainly attain it.

The Lunar landscape once again seems a bit disconnected and does not thrill; the highlight may be the Moon’s conjunction to Uranus at 10 AM-ish PST on the 6th. Otherwise, the mood is somber and a little wistful, with scattered playfulness at times :)

Moon in Pisces, My Weekend Astro Diary

W. Krause 1862 {{PD-Art}}

The 5 AM hour of the 8th sees the Pisces Moon sextile Pluto, offering a window for deep contemplation, meditation, or emotional purging, but all with a positive result. The only negative is if this hooks into your chart in a way that encourages drama instead of depth. By 9:30 AM PST the Moon is sextiling Pallas and we know whether we handled the Pluto aspect successfully, and also how to go forward with the rest of the day/ evening.

So do you remember how I wrote the wrong date yesterday, putting December instead of January, but getting the year right? I did go through the day as proposed, trying to reflect on my glimpse into the future, December 2011. From what I saw, things are good for me. There was a synchronicity with horseshoes (as a child they meant good luck to me) and some other positive feedback that was nicely reassuring. How was it for you? What messages did you receive, and how does the future look? Do you have to wear shades? 🙂

Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

It may feel like we're asked to do impossible feats during this period

I want to apologize for the lateness of this update, but in typical retro Merc fashion I’ve been struggling since Friday night with my computer. It got so bad by Saturday afternoon that it was essentially frozen, and I expected a complete crash–but I kept working on it, and by late Sunday night I decided I had to do a restore to past point, feeling that was a last resort (and thinking it probably wouldn’t work). It’s working now, but oy! what a trial. Referencing my own Merc retro forecast, Venus is natally in my 9th of publishing, with my weekend centered on what amounted to a radical restructuring of the actual hard drive I use for fulfilling obligations (Capricorn)–and it was certainly a test of empowerment issues for me, reminding me of exactly what part of things isn’t under my control–and this morning, as the Pisces Moon is exact to my natal Moon, I finally get back to business. I can only hope this Merc-themed difficulty doesn’t last through the whole cycle!

Today, the 13th, my eye is drawn to what is essentially a cluster of energies spanning roughly 30 degrees: Sun and Pallas in Sag, NN, Mars, Pluto, Merc, Ceres in Capricorn. It’s like being on a Tilt-a-Whirl that stays in just one position–you can’t hold on to the uphill parts for long, eventually you slide down to the low side as gravity finally wins. Gravity, in this case, will feel like the pull of inevitability, forces outside ourselves and out of our control causing drastic change we can’t fight against (echoes of this weekend, for me!) There is a sense of the powerful parts of life, Mother Nature, time, innate wisdom, all affecting us and our choices and especially our Will at a very personal level. Look to the Houses with Capricorn and Sagittarius on the cusp–this is likely to be the place where the incredible weightiness of Being comes home for each of us.

15 November 2010: Awash in Emotion

Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Sun is trine Jupiter in Water; we will either love the feeling of being awash in perception and emotion, or may feel like we’re drowning. In the first case, enjoy it, and in the latter, the attention must go to allowing a kind of surrender to emotional realities. In both cases the outcome can be positive if we have the humility to recognize forces at work in the Universe and in ourselves that are larger than individual consciousness.

Moon square Pallas on the 15th in the 9 AM Pacific hour may bring flashes of brilliance (possibly even in the midst of conflict!) or wise (though perhaps not easy to swallow) guidance. Don’t be too proud to do what’s best.

The 7 PM hour sees the Moon trine Vesta in Water. This is a wonderful influence to mend or reinforce emotional fences, particularly in the home, with the intimate partner, or in areas sacred to you. A little kindness and gentle, accepting demeanor will go miles.

Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

Sitting back and enjoying the senses might not be as easy as usual Edmund Tarbell 1894 {{PD-Art}} Arrangement in Pink and Gray

Today the Earth and Sedna join up in Taurus (and of course, this means the Sun is opposed Sedna) and the effect may be one of being unable to connect with our surroundings and our material situation. Considering this occurs in the sign of the bull, we may be very frustrated, seeking to really experience the material (which would be the likely inclination with Moon in Pisces) or we could  immerse ourselves in the sensual and physical (especially in terms of enjoyment or indulgence) and not truly notice what it is we’re involved in, at least not in any way where the experience will hold our awareness. Not really a day to expect to keep our minds from drifting; for more on the influences today, read https://juliedemboski.wordpress.com/only-for-fall-2010-eclipse-readers/ If you still need the password, get it here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Thanks!

20 September 2010: Awash in the Zeitgeist

Dark of the Moon, ECLIPSE magazine, Juno, Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

So just after I complained about short Voids not allowing us a little recuperation time, along comes this Void and gives us a stretch free of Lunar feedback (and this may invite a few brains to run hot–it’s in Aquarius–a few tempers to over heat and a wee touch of rebellion to foment–that lasts through 1:15 PM Pacific time; that’s when the Moon enters softly persuasive Pisces–persuasive as we may just want to lie back and dream, with the first aspect not forming until 5:30 PM PDT. At that point the Moon sextiles Pluto, and we may be able to purge emotionally; there’s a possibility that during the after-Pisces-entry hours we could be a bit too receptive to the Collective schmutz and may find ourselves angst-y over things we grab out of the air, rather than anything in our own lives. This all takes place during Dark of the Moon (which began 2 AM-ish Pacific today), so that there’s an even further remove, a feeling of disconnection blanketing it all that serves to make everything a lot more nebulous, and everyone a lot more spacey, in their own way (that just takes away barriers to the personality, amplifying each of us–you get MORE of what you are!)

By 9 PM PDT the Moon trines Mars, both in Water; we can expect a feeling that’s like swimming: we’re making effort but it’s not the usual, we’re soothed yet anxiety can come on in an instant, we’re bouyed yet enveloped. Emotionally we’re working up to the conjunction of the Moon with Jupiter/ Uranus late evening Pacific of the 22nd and early morning of the 23rd which precedes the Cardinal Point Full Moon. Stress levels may be high and difficult to get a handle on, starting with this trine to Mars and building toward the Full Moon.

1 AM PDT of the 21st the Moon quincunxes Saturn–use this grounding moment (which will come through some small dissonance in consciousness)  to orient yourself and take a read on the situation. At this time we need all the grounding influences we can get.

5 AM of the 21st the Moon makes a Water Grand Trine with Venus and the South Node, and we get steeped in nostalgia (literally, the pain of the past) and awash with all our deepest longings and yearnings emotionally and for connection. The Soul is gently turned inside-out with emotion. Understand that, though likely involving some degree of pain, regret, and heartache, this is a very good thing to experience, because it lets us know what we believe would make us complete-and that’s typically not at all what we truly need or want for satisfaction in our lives. It’s a period of sentimentality that can have a purpose that’s quite useful at giving some perspective to things.

The Moon steadily moves toward opposition with Mercury, perfecting in the 11 AM hour PDT. We may feel this building, as the Dark period otherwise tones down most other, immediate influences, making some really pop. This could be a point of revelation, or a mini comedy of errors, as communication can be confusing, even messy, and of course, there’s the potential for confrontation.

Relaxing and envisioning might be my recommendations for this period–along with buying the NEW ‘Juno in the Natal Chart’ http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com or getting the Summer issue of ECLIPSE, which carries a large entry on this upcoming Full Moon, the Venus retro and how to handle it, articles, and the October forecast http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/

And! New at ‘Been There, Done That’ just posted ‘Your Relationship Power Balance’ http://askjulie.wordpress.com/2010/09/20/your-relationship-power-balance/

And have a great one!

26 August 2010: Gliding on a Pisces Moon

25 Wednesday Aug 2010

Moon in Aries, Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

It may be a day for dreaming, creative work, and a loose schedule that allows for detours into fantasy, making Art, and imagining ‘what ifs.’ This will be the general atmosphere for a Pisces Moon that glides along without contact, but that also means that for those whose natal charts are not affected, it could be a day whiled away or lost to a big Collective experience–so keeping plans flexible is important for making the most of the energies. For those whose natal placements are contacted, the Pisces Moon could bring creative and intuitive possibilities to the natal energy–and these are likely to feel a little pressured, as if something creative must be done now! Try to see that this is simply an opportunity for heightened imaginative capabilities, rather than a mandate to birth something stunningly creative at the drop of a hat.

It takes all day for the Moon to move on to its final contact in Pisces, a conjunction to Uranus at 29 degrees, forming in the 5 PM hour PDT. Shocks and abrupt revelations/ surprises, possibly supplied by the Collective or our own active imaginations, will surface. Void begins at 7 PM sharp, and ends with the Moon’s entry into Aries at 7:49 PM PDT–if you want to roll the dice on any venture, this is the 49 minute period that promises only that the results won’t be what you expect.

The Aries Moon comes crashing into Jupiter (figuratively, of course), making the Will and the need to assert BIG; the energy may look for an outlet on the social scene, but with everyone under this influence it may be like a lot of hams vieing for stage time in the high school play–all those monologues drown one another out. Just after midnight PDT the Moon squares Pluto, bringing forward very real and very serious dissonance, and a little bit of destruction or danger–obviously, you’ll want to avoid this 🙂

By 2 AM PDT on the 27th the Moon quincunxes the Sun, giving us a window wherein we can rein in the emotions and attend to the details–it’s a point when we can, as they say in the military, square everything away–and that will allow us to use the Aries Moon to best advantage for the rest of the transit.

Finger of God, Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Moon begins the 25th Pacific time still within the first decan (10 degrees) of Pisces; she’s fresh from her tryst with the Earth, emotion and spirit drawing her attention. By 3 AM-ish PDT the Moon trines the South Node, and the past, along with possible regrets, seem vital–it’s as if no time has passed between the experience and the present moment–but that’s a trick of the feeling nature, with everything rushing back in great detail, especially visually (Pisces). We can make this work for us (or at least climb out of what seems an enchantment) by focusing on the future (sextile to the North Node). While still contacting the Nodes the Moon comes into range of a quincunx to Juno, and this offers a second, more reliable way out, as we can use our recollections as impetus to Self-empowerment, likely in the name of ‘I’ll never let that happen again!’ An interesting, though possibly exhausting, way to start the day.

By 5 AM PDT the Moon has become the apex of a Finger of God, with a base of Juno and Zeus. We felt that jolt of empowerment, vowed to make the emotional energy an asset, and now we receive another challenge, that may go one of two ways: we may find desires or ambitions fueling what amounts to an emotional rocket, where empowerment urges become almost megalomaniacal–we want it now! whatever it is, and become hell-bent, totally irrational, in going after it–or we find desires and ambition helping to hone the senses, the emotional palette, and the creative energies to a fine point, and this acts to mobilize the emotions and the intuitive nature to guide us toward our goals like a stealth aircraft, quiet, controllled, and flying without being picked up on others’ radar. This can set off a longer period of major leaps forward, if we play it right.

By 2:30 the Moon trines Pallas and we’re feeling pretty smart, and by 3:30 PM the Pisces Moon quincunxes Mars and opposes retro Mercury, forcing us to adjust to either our own egos or the egos of others, as demands appear they must be addressed (they don’t–that’s the ‘I am’ insisting on its own way)–they worst part is we may end up eating our own words, or we may find that we just can’t rely on what others tell us, or there’s a crucial mix-up in communication; we don’t end up feeling nearly as smart as we thought we were. If we know of it ahead of time we can recognize it when it happens–and dodge a bullet or two.

Just after 7 PM Pacific we see the Moon quincunx Venus–and if our relationships have remained unscathed up to now they won’t stay that way for long. It’s likely that interaction demands a little too much of us–and all we want is to relax, escape, or commune in a way that’s commercial-ideal, with music and pretty ladies twirling in meadows and puppies chasing rolls of toilet paper and clinking glasses in a happy toast and so on. At this point we might want to ask ourselves just how silly and unrealistic are our expectations–but at the same time we may have good reason to resist the iron fist in the velvet glove as Venus in Libra wants to do everything in tandem, ad nauseum. Nobody’s likely to be in a reasonable frame of mind, whether you’re the one with relationship demands or the escapee–just remember all that as you break into the liquor cabinet or insist your SO sit right here beside you and talk about ‘us’!

About 1 AM PDT on the 26th the Moon squares Ceres–and we thought the evening was already ruined–silly us! This may bring an emotional showdown over power, territory, control, and dominion. The best solution is either to be sound asleep, or remember the Collective good, rather than focusing on personal power issues–it’s not easy but the Pisces Moon does allow us to tune in to the cosmos, to re-balance and re-align, if we’ll only set aside our individual perspective for a little while.

See more on what’s to come here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/ and Thanks!
