All material is excerpted from ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest; order here for the complete daily aspect and Lunar picture, and more (this week it’s an article about career and success markers, and a short bit on exhaltations). For Friday the 4th we have:

Just after noon Pacific time the Moon quincunxes Pallas; this could bring forward a round of Self-questioning, or inquiries from the partner, and either situation could shake our confidence in our own good judgment. As long as you can discern an emotional component to your thinking, there’s nothing to worry about, but if this is actually an intuition . . . then you’d better examine what you’re accepting as ‘wisdom’ long and hard.

Void begins at 1:34 PM PDT; the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:19 PM PDT, which just so happens to be the minute that the Sun reaches exactly 15 degrees of Taurus and the Earth does likewise in Scorpio.

For Saturday, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio:

The Full Moon arrives at 8:35 PM PDT of the 5th at 16 Scorpio 01: ‘Pregnant With Possibility’

This Scorpio Full Moon is without aspect to any other body under our consideration; this puts the search for meaning in two spots: the signs involved in the Sun/ Moon opposition, and in the Sabian Symbols for the degrees of Sun and Moon/ Earth.

The Sabian Symbol for Moon/ Earth is ‘A Woman, Fecundated By Her Own Spirit, Is ‘Great With Child’. This brings emphasis to the potentials of the Scorpio spiritual orientation and the idea that one can quite literally inspire a new beginning within oneself. This is a kind of immaculate conception that draws on our own Soul to fertilize the creative possibilities within the Self and conceive and gestate a new venture or creation, a new thing brought into being from the seed of spirit entering that fertile ground of Beingness.

And for Sunday the 6th:

at 5:30 AM PDT, the Moon forms the apex of a loose Finger of God, with wide base of Mercury/ Venus. This suggests that, in the midst of the emotional no-man’s-land, we could receive some cogent messages concerning relationships or finances–oy! The solution may be found in the nature of the Scorpio Moon; if we can let the info in without having to process it right away, we may have it for later conscious consideration, while receiving unconsciously reassurance about a Venusian subject. A neat trick, if we can pull it off.

The Full Moon of 17 May 2011 4:09 AM PDT at 26 Scorpio 13

The Scorpio Full Moon is typically a Lunar point when everyone is immersed in the fullness of the material experience (Taurus Sun); the senses are engaged, and yet the Scorpionic influence of the culmination says, ‘You can feel it, but you can’t grasp it’; that is, we can’t comprehend via the thought processes what we’re experiencing–and so this Moon may be a frustrating one for those whose interaction with life is centered in the mind.

The Full Moon makes a single, close aspect, a quincunx to Jupiter in Aries. This suggests we may meet some kind of peak of Self-assertion (Aries) in the social arena (Jupiter); after this, a new tack, different approach, or retreat from, the social arena is in order (which is likely determined by the matters of the House in the natal chart where this falls, with a below-horizon spot likely suggesting retreat). We can at this time take an accounting of the pay-off of this Self-assertion; the material results are obvious (though there is both the wish and the possibility with this Moon for more, and that this something more may be hidden, yet to be discovered!) Jupiter brings in the idea of ‘our tribe,’ which we’ll see echoed again in the Sabian for the Sun (see newsletter #8 for detailed analysis); though typically the Full Moon in Scorpio would be focused on the individual energies of abundance and potency, this time these are displayed openly for the social arena, and measured with this in mind.

Overall the message of the Full Moon may be both that we must ‘go along’ with the social scene, showing who we are and what we have (remember, assets are talents and abilities as much as they are possessions) in order to complete a cycle (the culmination); but in doing this we must retain awareness that we may be selling short our heritage or that which is of value that has been passed down to us. It requires a balancing act, with awareness and tolerance (of social requirements and standards) called for.

The Scorpio Full Moon 28 April 2010

April Full Moon, Inferior Conjunction, Scorpio Full Moon

This month’s Full Moon occurs at 5:18 AM PDT on the 28th at 8 Scorpio 06, and the first thing we notice is that this coincides with the Inferior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury in its retrograde course. This makes this Moon, symbolically, both an energy culmination and an energy seed point (‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ for April Full Moon in ECLIPSE adds a bit of detail to this dual energy–and right here I should apologize to readers as the time cited in ECLIPSE is one hour off–I didn’t leap forward!); endings, then, will be Scorpionic, while beginnings will be Taurean, linked to the Sun’s position as it meets Mercury. The Sun’s Sabian, ‘A Fully Decorated Christmas Tree,’ implies that a life symbol, adapted from various systems (the Druidic, the nature cults) to another (Christian), takes on its own meaning as it represents tradition, the significance of the tree devoid of many of the specifics from which it sprang; this symbol also suggests the notions that rest behind the custom of placing delicate and beautiful objects on this representative of everlasting life (of the spirit in its most natural form), showing the way mankind may add her own theories about life and existence to what is essentially unchanging. So, the beginnings we encounter for the Full Moon period will, in some way, recognize that the spirit is unchanging, eternal, and that there are ways offered through our culture (tradition) for us to deal with, ritualize, and incorporate change and new developments into our lives (and these will be material–Taurus). The presence of Merc retro marks this as a seed time for something that will develop through to the Superior Conjunction (the conjunction of the Sun and Mercury when Mercury is direct), and this matter will directly link to (or demand from us) recognition of the persistent and consistent nature of the core spirit (Soul).

Of course, this seeding takes place simultaneous to the culmination we expect from a Full Moon. The Moon’s Sabian is ‘A Dentist at Work.’ This image suggests a trained individual applying skills in the appropriate situation (we’ll assume this dentist is doing his or her dentist-thing in her or his office!) This is, perhaps surprisingly, an image of doing, of application of knowledge and experience in the right place. When we check the Full Moon chart using our strict 2 degree orb, we find only one aspect to the Moon/ Earth conjunction: a quincunx to Juno. This helps; it tells us that this Moon promises that correct application of our skills (for this is the very thing that empowers Juno, using her skills in the right way in the right situation) will give an appropriate result, a resolution of some kind, which will bestow a sense of empowerment and positive feelings (the Scorpio Water placement).

We are left then with two branches to this Moon energy, one of which is the unusual instance of a beginning, usually reserved for the New Moon. There is the suggestion in all this of a step up in the challenges we will face, in more skills being required and more efforts made at the same time; where previously we would face a difficulty, now we’ll be handed two. And we have the strength and abilities to deal with it.
