And by ‘Finally!’ I mean finally the spring issue of ECLIPSE is here. It was true labor–yes, of love, and it was work, but I mean more like birthin’ a baby labor: hot, sweaty, and owww, but look what you have at the end! So, if you’re interested, you can get my baby here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ The Winter issue is now at a back issue price, if you’d like to catch up with the masses! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

Moon in Sagittarius bachelors on, minding his own business, wandering hither and yon; the atmosphere will likely be one of mostly pleasant keeping-to-oneself, with mind and feet busy carrying us forward into adventure. This lasts until about 5 PM PDT on the 30th, when something tickles Sag’s ambitions and/ or Willfulness (and possibly his desire nature!) and he must act (sextile Zeus, trine Mars). The emotions, then, will support making an assertive move without giving it much thought; that thinkin’ cocoon Sag likes to hang out in, where we’ve been mentally all day, didn’t exactly prepare us to do ‘it’–and the result is that we can thrust ourselves into the midst of something that can be way more than we anticipated. Look before you leap would be the admonition for evening Pacific time.

Just after 7 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes the South Node and we get nostalgic. In my experience, few can be as susceptible to a nostalgia-wallow as can a natal Sag Moon, and when the transiting Moon is traversing there we all get a little misty-eyed for what was. Under this influence we can talk ourselves into all kinds of ‘forgot why I left that alone in the first place’–and the last thing we want to do is relive the past. Take real care, as the next aspect is a quincunx to Sedna  (beginning about 9:30 AM PDT May 1st). This can be like taking a memory-loss pill; between the two quincunxes and a sentiment-susceptible Moon, we can get ourselves into a real fix, the kind we suddenly ‘wake up’ from with no idea how we could’ve wandered into such uncharacteristic circumstances.

About 1:30 PM PDT on the 1st the Moon trines Vesta and squares Jupiter, and our slow motion wake-up begins. On the one hand, we feel we’ve been making choices that are totally in line with our most sacred ideals; on the other hand, the social sphere, or our own store of knowledge, tells us that this, whatever it is, is not quite the thing for us. Which to believe, our happy-go-lucky, out of the blue choices, or those things that anchor us and tell us who we are? Hmm.

By 10 PM on the 1st Pacific time something starts to give; the Moon creates a T-square with the Saturn/ Uranus opposition, and sextiles Neptune. This brings a kind of showdown between our future and our past; those who are flexible and able to imagine what comes with going with one side or the other will do best in choosing (don’t worry, it’s just a temporary choice, to help us re-orient ourselves after our atypical weekend).

Void begins at 1:09 AM PDT on the 2nd of May. Moon enters staunch Capricorn at 2:59 AM PDT on the 2nd. Now comes the ‘choice hangover.’
