Dark of the Moon begins evening of the 29th; with a lessened energy impetus behind our doings, we should typically pull back and allow time for meditation, contemplation, healing, and reassessing our goals—this time is no exception. Consider that the Moon will be moving mostly through Scorpio during the Dark period, enhancing those activities that take place in the dark (sex, movies, burglary! and so on) and make introversion and rest that much more natural a response to the coming days—it also adds an element of secrets accidentally revealed through the unconscious, vindictiveness, and power-seeking to activities undertaken—so ‘do’ and participate with special attention and attentiveness.

30 November we must strike a delicate balance: we can express ourselves to a ‘T’ at this time in ways that are smart, unique, and that enhance our journey forward; but communication is a quagmire of missed connections and garbled messages—thoughts are deep (and deeply confused) but can’t be adequately conveyed, and if we try to let others know what we think we are likely to inadvertently hurt when we’re just trying to communicate. Our expressions will have to be non-verbal, a real challenge to Air types, and will be better shown through actions, physical creations, and episodes of pure feeling—that we’ll have to wait and share our thoughts on later.

27 November we get a great deal of support for going after our goals today, especially if those are attempts to realize ideas; we’re clear-headed, focused, and can get the help we need—just one problem: we may have to skirt the various authorities and power players who pop up along the way. The one big misstep we can make is to be unaware of who holds the real power in any situation, and we also must be aware of the relationship among powerful entities. If we do know our power matrix, we can make tremendous progress toward our aims, and could achieve something long-desired and significant in our quest, and our communications and ideas could result in rewards/ earnings. (Juno trine Zeus, Pluto square Ceres, Mercury sextile Venus, trine Jupiter)

26 November Wow! Today we get our heads on straight, almost magically, and we have no uncertainty about what matters most! Any confusion or dead ends pursued over the past few days can be easily swept aside (though of course, the goal is not to waste our time or efforts at all), and things can go very well, with one, big exception: the social sphere doesn’t help us out, in fact can be highly antagonistic, and so should be avoided. We see what’s wrong with the social order very clearly, but today’s just not the day to tackle a clean-up (Sun sextile Vesta, sesquiquadrate Jupiter)

25 November there are two ways we can go: one is action and choices based on instinct and a mentality that is keenly attuned to reality and sees clearly any obstacles to our most effective means of empowerment—and the other is driven by fear of punishment by authorities and delusions about what love feels like. As I’m sure you see, one is top-notch for taking care of business and fostering good choices and healthy Self-esteem, and the other works out of pure woundedness, and so will prove to mess things up monumentally. Take a deep breathe, and don’t assume that either is in the works for you; you can determine which you fall under, and of course you want the positive spin, if you’ll only refuse to act out of fear, or in any way that will bring anything other than Love into your sphere. (Chiron quincunx Ceres, Mars trine Sedna, Venus semi-square Neptune, Mercury conjunct Saturn, square Juno)

'A Love Story' E Phillips Fox 1903 {{PD-Art}}

‘A Love Story’ E Phillips Fox 1903 {{PD-Art}}

A bit on the Uranus-Pluto square:

During the period Uranus and Pluto have been squaring up and moving apart, we’ve been given what amounts to ‘free samples’, tastes of our own uniqueness, from deep within, with the point of allowing us to experiment, try on, and choose what new characteristics we’ll be adding to our repertoire to carry us into the future. (This wasn’t the initial major effect of Uranus-Pluto, but instead an emerging influence that will be shaping our future—and so takes on much more significance as we near the end of the Cardinal contact period). Add to this slow-motion transformation the significant thinning of the veil we experienced early in the month, and what we have is a psychic culture where what we imagine, what we idealize, what we fear, and what we are and hope to be, are accessible and realizable in ways we haven’t previously enjoyed, or even imagined.

And for Sunday:

24 November we may find ourselves wrestling with some dark and perverse demons today, the kind that delude us about who we are and make us walk away from our own natural place and power. We do best if we keep our eye on core values or on developed skills; both can ground us in at least a partial sense of identity and competence, and avoiding confrontation with the group is a good idea, too. Though the landscape may be hard to make out, or a complete mirage, we just need to concentrate on our piece of things as represented by those values and skills. Be especially careful as what we see ‘out there’ may not at all be what we get, and decisions are best left until (at least a few days) later. (Ceres sesquiquadrate Sedna, Uranus opposed Ceres, Sun-Earth axis square Neptune)

And something to contemplate:

“The worst of doing one’s duty was that it apparently unfitted one for doing anything else.”

The new ECLIPSE is out, with articles on what to expect during this last phase of Uranus-Pluto, a look at the chart and work of Pulitzer Prize winner Edith Wharton, we ask (by looking at the natal chart) whether Sylvia Browne was really psychic, and much more!

Today’s image is an individual swinging from a trapeze. The problem isn’t in swinging out into the air, or even in doing tricks or acrobatics–it’s in counting on others to catch us when we decide to ‘fly’. It’s just not the time to bet our own safety on the attentiveness or responsiveness of others. There’s nothing malicious here, it’s just that those we would like to include in our efforts or count on for their assistance are seriously distracted, busy, or unwilling to allot us what we need right now. Don’t despair–this will pass fairly quickly–in the meantime perfect your technique, your stamina, and your skills, so that when it is time to fly, you’ll be more than ready.

19 November brings big, confident, or caring action, assertions of Will supported by the social sphere, and more energy than we are likely to be able to get our minds around, which means we’ll probably wear ourselves down to a nubbin. (Mars sextile Jupiter, Mercury quincunx Uranus, perfects today)

When you get tired, rest, like the lady above. That is all.

4 AM PST of the 18th the Gemini Moon trines Ceres and quincunxes Mercury, making emotions flow in words and thoughts, and expressions of power and co-operation with authorities come ‘naturally’. Easy communication of what we feel happens without any effort–but if we want to keep our feelings to ourselves, better to spend a few hours in isolation, as Merc in Scorpio, Ceres in Libra, and Moon in Gemini are all motivated to share, and just can’t hide what they think. 8 AM PST the Moon sextiles Uranus; sudden shocks, surprises, and emotional outbursts may accompany intellectual exchange or group involvement. 9:30 AM PST the Moon squares Chiron and quincunxes Pluto. Destructive choices or rage hurt inadvertently–if we choose to see these as transformative, instead, we may find significant healing within what feels like an otherwise negative situation. 4 PM PST the Moon trines Juno and quincunxes Venus. Empowerment rests in being flexible, largely with ‘the rules’ we are used to in relationship or values. In this case, bending with the breeze is good, and won’t make for any permanent change, which is the fear that sparks our resistance in the first place. 9 PM PST the Moon quincunxes Saturn and trines Zeus. Now we’re asked to be flexible with reality itself, in service to fulfilling our ambitions or desires. Okay, why not?

Today’s image is a goldfish–swimming not in a bowl, but in the air! There’s something surreal about events and perceptions today–try to take it all in without reaction or judgment, and let all but what’s crucial to you in the moment go.

Venus-Pluto is, especially right now, an interesting combo; I’m imagining all that Pluto has unearthed in Capricorn now receiving a balm of Love–or will we instead see just what stirring up the status quo has cost? These two get together and the intensity, even in an Earth sign, can be overwhelming–we must ask, Why so serious?

No doubt about it, today and tomorrow we’ll spend scraping to the bone in relationships, and we may try to cut costs to their skeletal minimum; the impulse to excavate what we treasure may cause untold (even permanent) damage, but there’s also the chance that secrets that have moldered in the dark for far too long will come to light–and so might those sources of Love, Money, or those catalysts for change we have been unaware of or frightened of, until now.

The current meeting of Venus and Pluto in Capricorn may quite easily get all mixed up with other influences lingering near the same degree across the zodiac: Chiron, Uranus, even near midnight Pacific time, the Moon. Don’t accept erratic or wounding events as having a Venus-Pluto origin; if this duo wanted to wound, it would be fatal.

Don’t take anything in the Love or resources department for granted at this time, and certainly, if you can, shine a little love into the darkness; in Capricorn Venus-Pluto will embrace their passions and turn them into something solid, reliable, sturdy–and sometimes that’s much better than just stealing kisses in the dark.
