15 January 2011: Easy, Flirty Air

Remember, too much talk can wear out your beau, while too much flirting can alienate your mate G.Donck c.1620 {{PD}}

Around 12:30 PM PST the Moon trines Ceres. Let’s call this ‘easy Air,’ as the natural thought processes will mesh smoothly with the emotions and with the intuition–each supports the other, and any authority we hold inherent to our beingness will shine through loud and clear. A great point for ‘showing’ the Self–just be aware that what’s natural to you might not necessarily be either flattering or productive, and modify interaction accordingly. Remember that Merc in Capricorn supports the practical, productive, and contained most effectively.

8 PM the transiting Moon opposes Venus. Here we go! The Venus nature wants to reach out, to head for the horizon, to expand territory–and on a Saturday night that can mean flirting, even hunting, for a mate! The Moon, however, wants to talk about emotions (Gemini), wants to express feeling–and fiery Venus wants to act. It can make for some conflict as we will be prone to choose one vibe or the other as our banner. If you vibe to Venus, remember that a too-free attitude can hurt those to whom you’re committed, while if yours is a Lunar thing keep in mind that talk talk talk, and ‘lighter’ socializing, can wear thin–everyone wants a little substance or excitement once the feelings are aired.

14 January 2011: The Mystic Rectangle, A Battle Plan

If you have a plan things go a lot better G.Cruikshank 'Vinegar Hill' c.1830 {{PD-Art}}

Today there’s a Mystic Rectangle, with the Sun/ Earth axis, Mars (c.Sun) and the Juno opposition to Jupiter/ Uranus (lasts through the 22nd, though without Mars in latter days). This is highly energizing, electrical, lighting up empowerment options, the social sphere, the material situation, and what you have to do to get what you want. Period. This info is enlightening concerning the physical, and is non-negotiable–it is what it is. It will serve to test the suitability of your goals and wishes, will show just how much personal power you possess in relation to the social entities you care about, and will, if you’re honest with yourself, rid you of any shameless power or material or relationship fantasies you’ve continued to carry around despite evidence to the contrary. Use what you’re shown wisely, and accept with humility and courage what you’ve deemed important–it is a true point where we can align what we want with our own willingness to act to get it–and come out the other side more mature, enlightened, and with a successful battle plan–thanks, Mars!

The fuss about Ophiuchus is handled brilliantly here and both Eris Francis of  Planet Waves and Matthew Currie had intelligent thoughts about this eloquently expressed–check them out if you’re curious.

13 January 2011: Smooth Expression

Castle Rock, Marblehead AT Bricher 1878 {{PD-Art}}

By 5:30 AM PST the Moon will be trine Pluto in Earth, grounding us firmly, even a little TOO firmly. It may lead to smooth expression of emotions, excellent intuition, or a ‘muddy’ feeling, as if you’re emotionally ‘bogged down.’ There’s no way to tell ahead of time, unless you have a very clear-cut relationship with the Earth element–then you can anticipate the result!

Juno is square Mercury, both at 29 degrees, suggesting tension in communications that are intended to convey our own power position. We speak, but our statement about where we stand is, inevitably, misunderstood. Early AM of the 13th Mercury moves into Cap, and despite its 00 position, it asserts itself as it blends with all those other Cap energies (NN, Pluto, Pallas, Sun, Mars)–speaking out is easy, and may communicate large amounts of subtext related to the other energies sharing Capricorn (and lingering echoes of the Juno empowerment identity).

12 January 2011: Emotional Action and Reaction

1:30 AM PST sees Venus semi-sextile Pluto, with the Moon sesquiquadrate. What exactly are we experiencing here? There is a subterranean urge toward upheaval and change in relationship, finances, or values, and the emotions chime in with a great deal of discomfort. Are we uncomfortable because we want to make changes, because change is occurring with or without our participation, or because we know it needs to happen, but are resisting? Pluto in the mix can give us a ‘head in the sand’ attitude out of sheer fear or fatigue–it’s exhausting to transform, transform, transform! And yet, that’s the essence of life, and change we must.

The Moon squares the Sun/ Earth axis (also 1:30 AM-ish), giving us one of those stress moments that also offers insight–this reinforces the starkness of all that we may be dealing with. The effect can be harsh, exaggerating the importance or ‘down’ feeling of events and revelations, but don’t take the negative pitch of things too seriously–as we know, this too shall pass.

Both the above conditions last through early afternoon PST. Void begins at 6:43 PM PST, with the Moon entering Taurus at 7:37 PM Pacific.

The Taurus Moon may urge us to relax and zone out a bit, almost like a Pisces Moon but without the possible paranoia or losing touch with reality! No, I kid–and yet, we may indulge in whatever soothes us–and I think we might deserve it :) By 11:30 PM PST the Moon will be trine the North Node in Earth–and if we’re at peace with our emotional state it will be a very smooth feeling that includes a glimpse of the direction we’re headed–and some insight into where others are headed, particularly in a material sense, too.

11 January 2011: Stop and Go Perspectives

We sail through on the Moon/ Pallas aspect (a square from late on the 10th) until 11:30 AM PST, when the transiting Aries Moon opposes h. Zeus. Meaningless, some will say–I say, this heightens the emotional state by showing how the emotions are not consumed with ambitions or lust–even more startling may be those facets that are driven by want and desire. This gives us the perspective to recognize them, and the personal authority (Aries) to do what we must to reconcile our feelings.

Sun trine Sedna, semi-sextile Vesta=The trine is in Earth, a situation where what’s ‘lit up’ is impossible to see! Even tougher, Vesta reminds us of what’s sacred–and only reinforces that decisions should be left for another time. Then . . . By 1:30 AM Pacific of the 12th the Moon will square the Sun/ Earth axis and trine Vesta. NOW you can go for that decision that just the day before was a little too clouded (thanks to Sedna). Use caution still, however, unless you have a very good relationship to Saturn energies.

There is something new under (a) sun and this

10 January 2011: Arian Challenges

Penthesilea as One of the Nine Worthies France c.1460

By 11:30 AM the Moon sextiles Ceres and squares the Nodal axis, bringing us our first Arian challenge: will we do what comes naturally (which is likely what authorities are telling us to do) or will we buck like an unbroke horse with a load of Self-Will cinched on our backs? One choice makes things go really smoothly–you guess which one!

The 2 PM hour PST sees the Moon trine Venus in Fire–yeow! This just feels like the attitude will be on fire! If you don’t have a lot of drive, spirit, and energy at this point, then something is seriously wrong, and it’s almost certainly found in the place t Saturn is suppressing in your chart right now. This suggests a strong need to express that you are holding back on–in essence, it’s a denial of something you truly should bring out and deal with, but your own internal mechanism (likely an ego one, not wanting to rock its secure boat) is in play and working to preserve its place in things. For a few, the suppression will genuinely come from the external–and remedies will be clear.

9 January 2011: Finger of God

NASA {{PD}}

1:30 PM PST there’s a sextile to Sedna, bringing a time when we just can’t pinpoint our emotions–don’t try, and don’t make decisions or give answers at this point that rely on emotional judgment or perceptions.

It’s also apparent that 2 degrees is a very popular placement: Venus, the Nodes, and Ceres, and they form a Finger of God, apex South Node. This suggests that either memories of the past or past experience will be instrumental in working out something presented at this time. The circumstances will involve a need to harmonize a Venusian element of the life (relationship, finances, values) with both the life direction (NN at opposing point to apex and midpoint of Venus/ Ceres) and Mother Nature and/ or authority in some form. The challenge is very likely a balancing act, a weighing of something personally desired with an external authority’s ability to affect our having it–and once we’ve aligned it with current life direction, we will receive a benefit from past circumstances, experience, or dealings. It’s as if, in this instance, we must handle the dilemma first, before we’re allowed to see the parallels from the past, the opposite of what we typically must do.

As to the shooting of the Congresswoman and many others in Arizona yesterday, I find myself so depressed by the event that I don’t want to look at the astrology–the whole thing sickens me, especially the issuance of “We are praying for you” statements from those responsible for stirring up the hate. They’ve made fame and money off their finger pointing; maybe today’s finger of God for them personally shows just exactly how their past actions have helped to f*ck up today–but I don’t hold a lot of hope that any who are truly responsible will recognize that fact.

There is also a midpoint pic that I think probably figures in to all this, Mars at the midpoint of Mercury/ Neptune–fantasy prompting deluded action, firearms, need I go on? I don’t want to feed the energy of this event by obsessing over it–instead I’m going to send my thoughts toward healing, and I hope you will, too.

8 January 2011: A Pisces Moon, and a Little Time Travel

W. Krause 1862 {{PD-Art}}

The 5 AM hour of the 8th sees the Pisces Moon sextile Pluto, offering a window for deep contemplation, meditation, or emotional purging, but all with a positive result. The only negative is if this hooks into your chart in a way that encourages drama instead of depth. By 9:30 AM PST the Moon is sextiling Pallas and we know whether we handled the Pluto aspect successfully, and also how to go forward with the rest of the day/ evening.

So do you remember how I wrote the wrong date yesterday, putting December instead of January, but getting the year right? I did go through the day as proposed, trying to reflect on my glimpse into the future, December 2011. From what I saw, things are good for me. There was a synchronicity with horseshoes (as a child they meant good luck to me) and some other positive feedback that was nicely reassuring. How was it for you? What messages did you receive, and how does the future look? Do you have to wear shades? 🙂

11 AM PST the Moon’s conjunct Neptune, and soon thereafter conjunct Chiron. Can we separate these two conjunctions? or must Neptune/ Chiron blend into a stringy, sticky fondue that coats the emotions (mmm, cheese metaphors!) We can separate them, oh so carefully, as they are almost an entire degree apart; that means that it’s a little like a one-two punch (or maybe nudge, or gentle smothering with a soft pillow!) The emotions undergo an exercise with these two contacts, the first likely testing the emo connection to reality via ideals and a review of what’s fantasy, what’s fact, followed immediately by an emo response of wounding or a bringing forth of skills to deal with disparities. There can be another response, one where the intuition is fully activated and connected to the Cosmos, and this offers a hotline to answers sought and insights desired, with a really strong link to activating the Chirotic skills, perhaps at an elevated, transpersonal level. A great aspect, if you can rock it!

Venus moves into 00 Sagittarius, with an interesting result–we take a sudden turn from the sex drive (in whatever form that might take, meaning it’s the passionate focus we’ve recently maintained) to a gaze that focuses on the horizon, to a want for more freedom in relationship, to an idea that value is found ‘out there’–and this is always an abrupt shift when Venus moves from Scorpio to Sag–just orient yourself to the inevitable change to what attracts your attention, and you won’t be thrown.

After Michelle at AstroFix pointed out the wrong date in the title (Thanks Michelle!) I realized that I’d actually projected a year ahead, not back to December 2010–so as an exercise, I’m going to look at everything today as carrying a special message about where I’ll be next December–you might want to try it, too!

6 January 2010: Desire Dynamic

Venus is sextile Juno, both at 29 degrees today–love and/ or finances are sought through personal empowerment and all of it feels like very strong need–there’s the sense that our particular position and requirements are like no one else’s, that the things on which our attention focuses must absolutely be fulfilled, and, probably the most interesting part, is that we are sure no one is aware of this exceptionally strong need dynamic at work–we think it’s a secret! News flash: it’s written all over us–and that means we are vulnerable to those who might use our need, as well as, if our need includes a naked wish for love, giving us the kind of desperate demeanor that works to drive others away–achieving exactly the opposite of what we desire. This only lasts a day or so, but is potent while it’s around–be aware.
