The 13th it’s a Good Day To . . . whatever you do, reject illusion, deception, and don’t acquiesce to looking away. To do this successfully we’ve got to want to see the Truth, see reality. Embrace this completely; it’s our way toward reward, Beauty, Love, positive change, and our way out of being at the mercy of the group, out of accident, out of chaos.

The Full Moon picture will follow.

‘Golden Hours’ By John William Godward 1913 {{PD}}

The 12th it’s a Good Day To . . . let mind meld with feeling and allow instinct to guide them both. But the key may actually be this: go your own way. Don’t engage in either power struggles or try to slap the social sphere–those are energy-dissipating distractions.

‘Alcea rosea’ By Berthe Morisot 1880 {{PD}}

The 11th it’s a Good Day To . . . act on, rely on, base efforts on what we know or have established in the past, especially thinking along wise, practical, and practiced lines. That’s not exciting or glamorous, but it is smart, at least right now; we’re clear-thinking in terms of what empowers us and what roles we hold, but can’t embrace originality or uniqueness without abandoning wisdom–a dicey proposition, as our good judgement falls away if we indulge and go spontaneous and uncharted. Stay with what’s solid, what we’ve got experience with, and if we dedicate our work to what we truly honor, we find reward in ways we didn’t anticipate along what seemed like such a safe, predictable, even dull, course.

Focus on: an ongoing Mystic Rectangle (some astrologers don’t consider the Nodes valid points in configurations; I do), involving North Node, South Node-Saturn, Black Moon Lilith (again, an energy point not always used)-Neptune-Earth, Mars (and the Sun, just for another day). This gives an overall dynamic of circumstances or efforts made in the past supporting creative or idealistic material efforts now, with an awareness of your own part in things, especially as an instigator, and a likely lack of awareness of how these matters are being influenced by what you are ignoring, denying, or by that which enrages you. So, a great energy for manifesting via personal energy expenditure, but be aware that any sudden left turns or right hooks come from the well of ‘I just don’t want to know that!’, and that gives an opportunity to personal insight, to what we can and should attend to.

Strangely, I felt that this picture, and particularly the title, might be speaking directly to someone out there today. ‘And when did you last see your father?’ By William Frederick Yeames 1868 {{PD}}

The 10th it’s a Good Day To . . . question the opportunities presented–or perhaps, to question whether they will take us in the direction we want to go. We’re seeing clearly and for once Self-sabotage isn’t on the agenda in any form–so take this chance to look at where you’re headed, to see if what’s on offering will accommodate current goals or require new ones, and then be brave enough to change direction if that’s more appealing, more in line with Soul expression. Don’t worry–the viewpoint today is practical, skill-centered, even wise. Decisions will be sound.

‘Blackberry Gathering’ By Elizabeth Forbes c1912 {{PD}}

By the 9th it’s a Good Day To . . . avail yourself of the opportunities presented, the facts, and/ or the wisdom of the social sphere (I know! Shocking! But in-between swings to the extreme, the social order can be quite helpful in orienting us to the smartest course, even when it’s showing us the way not to go). We have emotional issues, especially around our own thinking, that can make it difficult to know what to do, but if we stick to acting from fact or seeing to details, we won’t go wrong.

‘It’s Raining Comets’ This artist’s conception illustrates a storm of comets around a star near our own, called Eta Corvi. Evidence for this barrage comes from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope, whose infrared detectors picked up indications that one or more comets was recently torn to shreds after colliding with a rocky body. The 7th is a Good Day To . . . go after what you want. If you claim your power, you’ll be endowed with original ideas, innovative impulses, and an inventive, unique point-of-view, one that provides the wisdom to avoid sore spots in yourself and others. There’s the potential to as they say, facetiously or not, ‘burn with the intensity of a thousand Suns’–but this can take a downturn, if you aren’t able to escape your own wounded way of seeing. Inability or unwillingness to accept total Self-responsibility can lead to a spectacular flame out featuring erratic, unpredictable, unexpected, or rebellious behavior. The good part is, it’s your choice.

By the 8th it’s a Good Day To . . . if possible face, or at least find a work-around, for those things we’re trying not to admit or acknowledge. That’s necessary, despite conflict with or disapproval from the Powers-That-Be. Constructive action, the kind that’s entirely under your control, is your best course today; if big projects are scary, start with the small stuff–it’ll mean more than you think. Tackling the large and looming isn’t required in order for you to have a positive impact.

The 6th is a Good Day To . . . to surprise yourself with all you can do. The range of your authority might need to be explored, and though others may push back over things they’d rather not acknowledge, you’ll discover both the worth of the power you hold and the limits to it (and as well, you’ll see the benefits of knowing those limits and exercising some Self-restraint). Show your empowerment, but at the same time don’t ignore the facts and don’t bother to contradict the social order–you’ll be setting a brush fire (courtesy of Mercury in Virgo square Jupiter in Sagittarius) if you do.

Redstarts and Butterflies. Five studies in one frame.’ By Bruno Liljefors 1885 {{PD}}

The 5th is a Good Day To . . . let power flow where it will. Trying to control who or what has the juice will be unproductive, and for once, the social order may know more than we do about who should get to do what (and remember, seeing someone on top doesn’t mean they’ll stay there–they could just be gathering enough rope to hang themselves). Act on instinct, stick with tried-and-true roles for the moment, and keep thinking disciplined and reality-focused, as failing to do so can open hidden, ignored, or denied cans-of-worms.

‘Composition IX’ By Wassily Kandinsky 1936 {{PD}}

The 4th is a Good Day To . . . allow instincts to inform thoughts and drive action–but we need to be careful: we are either highly aware of the worth of our creative energy and ideas, and can assess them accurately, or we are completely deluded about their worth. There’s no in-between, so all you can do is your best work, put it out there, and let the Universe decide.

‘The Waterfall’ By Henri Rousseau 1910 {{PD}}

The 3rd is a Good Day To . . . stay alert to our own tendency to slide into hurt mode, and/ or to communicate aggressively, the latter probably unconsciously. It’s a day when little bits of ourselves that are wounded, upset, or sad may float up and out before we know it, and those bits are inclined to do damage today, so stay vigilant.

Today is also the Superior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury, which is the point where they conjoin during Mercury’s direct movement. This typically brings the conclusion of a matter seeded at the Inferior Conjunction, the last of which occurred 21 July. Happening in concert with other influences suggests that those aggressive or wounded bits may be dislodged from the psyche by what reaches its apex today. The only antidote for any of this is unflagging Self-awareness.
