The Full Moon occurs on the 14th Pacific time 11:39 PM at 22 Capricorn 27. We only have two perfected (within 2 degrees) aspects of the Full Moon/ Earth combination: a trine to Sedna, and a quincunx to the South Node. In short, we are looking at endings that we won’t know are endings at the time. These will involve ideas or discussions from the past and the material assets, values, skills, and all structures upon which we’ve come to rely in our world; these factors will mix and in some way produce an ending, probably centered in the issues of the Houses where these placements lie in the natal chart (SN is at 23 Gemini 17 and Sedna is at 22 Taurus 59, Full Moon 22 Capricorn 27).

Just after 2 PM Pacific the Moon sextiles Chiron and squares Uranus, possibly opening the emotions to hurt by the group; or will we be confronted by emotional dissonance created by our own rebellious urges? If we’re too afraid of being hurt, chaos could be the result, as we abdicate responsibility in the hope that it will shield us from sudden upset. If we throw ourselves into this energy combination, we can be hugely creative, by bringing our most unique skills to bear on our most original ideas–it’s a challenge worth pursuing.

By 4 PM PDT the Moon is conjunct Pluto. This aspect brings an emotional read to the ongoing Plutonian journey through Capricorn–and lets us get a measure of how we feel about changes to the structures of our lives. We may find ourselves surprisingly emotional about changes not just in our personal lives but to things that affect many (especially to things we counted on: jobs, laws, government stipends, pensions, ordinances, and even to the relationships among the governments of countries, and other establishment entities). Will likely be a time of review, and may bring surprising revelations and choices about your true feelings.

The Essence for 17 June 2011: That Was Then, This Is Now

2 PM-ish PDT the Capricorn Moon trines Sedna. This presents us with an emotional blind-spot that’s all the more confusing because what we’re trying to feel our way around is material or rule-oriented, and so seems as if it should be graspable–but it’s just not. Don’t commit or force a decision–just take a measured approach and see where later influences take you. Just before 4 PM PDT, however, the Moon will quincunx the South Node, and though we may be relieved that our blind spot is now filled with memory and lessons from the past (so that we can at least make our decisions based on the familiar) we can’t for a moment forget that that was then, and this is now–answers that once made sense might not anymore. Again, wait it out.

1 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Venus; we are challenged to adjust the emotions to what is communicated concerning relationships, money, and love. Just before 5 PM the Moon squares Saturn, Cardinal to Cardinal, of course, and presents us with a solid manifestation and/ or roadblock to our attempts to see to emotional business (Capricorn). It seems others, especially partners, are busy preventing our ‘smooth sailing’–but we provide the same roadblocks for them! The emotional need to impose rules and boundaries that is part and parcel of the Moon in Cappy is simply meeting the reality of trying to regulate the emotional landscape for everyone in sight–if your own boundaries are in the right places, this aspect can pass with nary a whisper–everyone else may receive a stoning, and not in a good way.

The Essence for 21 May 2011: A Test of Adaptability

Just after 1 PM Pacific the Capricorn Moon squares Jupiter in Aries. The emotions feel they know the boundaries, and take a hard line on behavior and what’s acceptable, but Jupiter in Aries says that the social order may have the fire and fight of the individual. Independence and Willfulness meet rigid rules and boundaries; something’s got to give. Either the individual succumbs to what feels like social chaos :)  or the individual adapts their own ideas of structure and containment so that they can play off the vein of fight and energy found in the social sphere and turn it to their own use. It’s a test of adaptability, and a reminder that no matter what, one must to a certain extent bend to the larger social tide (if only to insure one’s own survival).

Void begins at 2:05 PM Pacific. Take it easy, don’t push. The Moon enters Aquarius at 7:31 PM PDT, trining the Gemini Sun, also at 00. A Sun/ Moon trine offers us a generally harmonious atmosphere, if we can embrace the prevailing element, in this case, Air. Reasoning and mental activity are supported, and the intuitive inclination of the Aquarian Moon will be at your disposal; just be sure that you’re intuiting and not just thinking, a common mistake with this combo.

Just prior to 1:30 AM PDT of the 20th the Capricorn Moon conjuncts Pluto. Remember, the Moon gives off no light of its own; it is merely reflecting that of the Sun. We should keep this in mind for the duration of this aspect (and also recall, the influence of these Lunar aspects can range a few hours either side of the time mentioned here, as here the aspects are listed close to exact). The depths, the secrets, the mysteries solved, the hidden matters revealed, the changes wrought will be seen immediately in the context of the emotional effect (or toll) they’ll have, and this may be observed largely through watching the reactions of others (the reflected light). We can learn a great deal about our world and those who people it during this aspect.

2 PM the Moon trines Juno; we find our empowerment, probably by following the emotional or intuitive prompt. This can be a huge boost to our confidence; note that the effective arena is the material, the ‘real world’ (trine in Earth).

The Essence for 19 May 2011: Gentle Capricorn

Remember the gentle Cappy in your life (they're quiet, and often lonely--it's not easy being serious) with a lovely mug--get their goat! http://www.cafepress.com/dogandsunflower

The Moon enters gentle Capricorn at 1:16 PM PDT of the 19th, and immediately sextiles Neptune. Especially if we’ve experienced the Void as something vacant or chaotic, this aspect could slam us back to Earth and leave us generally confused and ‘out of it.’ Those who don’t find the Void troublesome (and this because of their well-balanced identity/ emo nature) will be inspired, creatively or spiritually (is there really a difference? I think not), though for those inclined to fudge the truth with themselves or others (and of course, we can’t lie to others without telling ourselves a lie, somehow) this could point to a very unfortunate event, wherein they embrace a fantasy, delusion, or deliberate lie as the basis for a whole series of actions. It’s the moment in which they may seek to justify taking a particular course that they already know is not really meant for them. Don’t let this be you, dear reader!

The Essence for 23-24 April 2011: Opportunity

Looking for opportunity is half the reason we study the stars in the first place, isn't it? Thought to be 15th century, no source known {{PD}}

1:30 AM on the 23rd sees the Moon act as the arm of a T-square to the Saturn/ Mercury opposition–and should initially result in the emotions being pulled mightily between what you think, or has been communicated to you, and what you observe as reality, the rules, or the ‘real’ situation. This is a test of how much you trust yourself; even with Merc retro, you will know what is true–funnel your emotional clarity into resolving what’s presented so that your emotional picture is accurate and acceptable for you–you needn’t answer to anyone else.

5 AM Pacific the Moon trines Juno in Earth. When the emotions and intuition are keyed to Earth, and touching Juno also in Earth, we are handed a recipe for making good financial plans and decisions. We will see just what will effectively bring us a sense of prosperity, stability, comfort, reward, and abundance–and we can see how to go after it. For those who may be asleep at this time, take note of your dreams, or events in the night; these likely hold clues to achieve that material boost.

By 8:30 AM the Moon squares Mars; they are in Cardinal signs! they want results! they can be dramatic and assertive while still following the rules! Again, opportunity knocks, but stretching out actions to a slightly later point (after Merc direct, at least) will insure a clearer thought process and no (or few) missteps.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 10:59 AM of the 24th, semi-sextiling Neptune and briefly sprinkling bunny glitter on everything. It’s nice to allow a little glamor and illusion now and again, isn’t it? A sextile to Uranus (3 PM PDT) brings a little surprise, shock, or revelation, and then the Aquarius Moon makes a T-square with the Sun/ Earth axis, and as well sextiles Venus and places Chiron at the midpoint (7PM-ish PDT). Oh! The tension that comes forward is both intellectual and fundamental to the situation; it was there all along, now we can see it. The less mature may suffer a bout of rebellion or insist on avant garde-ism, but everyone else will see the healing potential in the air–and embrace it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Essence for 22 April 2011: Sensitive to the Bee Sting

'Make a bee line' as someone used to say! {{PD-Art}}

The Moon trines the Sun in Earth and simultaneously squares Uranus (6:30 AM Pacific), and we may get an emotional shock even as we see precisely how to proceed for the day–so it’s a win/ whoops! A 10:30 AM sextile to Chiron may bring forward the sensitive again–and if that earlier shock wasn’t so good, you may hurt or may lash out at someone else–it’s just a bee sting, and not anyone else’s fault.

By 3:30 PM Pacific you’re either deep into pain or over it–the Moon conjuncts Pluto and things get heavy–and this may be bad, as in, Why me? or good, as in, ‘I never thought this would change, and it has!’ You have as much chance of celebrating this conjunction as you do of wishing it away–but if it does go south on you be prepared to channel the energy into reform or cleansing of your choice–take Pluto by the horns (for surely he has them!) and make him your b*tch, as the saying goes :)   Allow the semi-sextile to Vesta to guide you.

Please subscribe.

The Essence for 28 March 2011: Tug-of-War

Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary, The Astro Essence

Give it your horizontal all, just like the Harvard U Tug-of-War team of 1888

6 PM PDT the Moon sextiles the Sun and semi-sextiles Pluto. This could have the feel of a tug-of-war, with a contest between dark and light in some surprising forms. Some may see this in terms of the individual (Aries) vs. the rules, boundaries, or restrictions, not necessarily (but possibly) imposed by others (particularly if they are part of government, or a large and imposing organization, all Cappy). It almost amounts to a translation and collection of light by the Moon, passing the energy between the bodies. Of course, Sun/ Pluto will have their own relationship, by square–and this could mean that emotion is triggered strongly through the Sun/ Pluto abrasion–because that’s what it may feel like, tender flesh rubbed on rough brick! Understanding, empathy, a feeling of belonging to the group (Aquarius Moon) may save the day. I certainly think it’s being felt, much more intensely than we typically feel the start of a new Sun/ Pluto cycle, though a close second contributor is found in the Sun being at the midpoint of Uranus/ Jupiter–exaggerating, electrifying, like a giant dancing on our last nerve. For the most part, all we can do is wait–though I have one other idea: Venus/ Ceres are exact in Pisces, and this may give us an out, through uniting the two, embracing loving authority and nurture as our role, in respecting relationships first, and in taking a co-operative attitude with Mother Nature. That might help :) Accepting responsibility with total kindness will be our strength.
