Moon in Sagittarius, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Moon in late Scorpio is only going to do gentle things: sextiles to Mars and Earth, trines to the Sun and Juno, an opposition to Sedna (with perhaps a kind of hollow effect; the only problem being if at that time–2-4 AM PDT, roughly speaking, we are trying consciously to connect with our emotions–then, maybe, a problem, otherwise, nothing discernible)–oops, there is one thing, one little thing, the Moon square Neptune, 12:30 PM PDT to 3-ish, suggesting that the emotions may mislead. Hold that idea very carefully within, because the possibilities are greater than is our ability to anticipate what may occur, and just when we assume we know the form this will take, something else pops up.

Overlapping this square to Neptune, around 2:30 the Moon squares Chiron and sextiles Saturn, while these two are in very close quincunx (a two minute variation), with Chiron being the body of latest degree. This says to me that at the same time we can’t count on emotions to ‘tell true,’ we could be mislead in a second way, by hurt and the simple reality of our circumstances. This period may bring that feeling we’ve all had at one time or another, where we become acutely aware of all life’s rough edges. It doesn’t mean something bad will happen, but rather indicates that we may be hyper-sensitive to our own vulnerability; it’s a ‘mortal moment,’ where we get a glimpse of ourselves and the Cosmos without the usual wrapping of love and narrowed focus that allows us to get out of bed in the morning with a minimum of fear and function without too much brooding on existential questions.

The Moon has a phenomenally short Void, beginning at 4:47 PM PDT; the best thing about this is that it will end our awareness of the ‘mortal moment’ and bring our attention back to the world, which appears to have regained its familiar shapes and shadows. It lasts a single minute, with the Moon entering Sagittarius at 4:48 PM PDT, and changing our outlook significantly. Where we were all gloom and doom a few hours ago, now we feel we could leap a tall building in a single bound–sounds super, no? We really will feel capable of tackling anything, so save your impossibles for this point, and attempt them then.

The 10:30 PM-ish trine of the Moon to Jupiter only magnifies the Uranus trine feeling, but as always with the greater benefic, overdoing and over confidence are a distinct possibility–do your reaching out with some care, and if you’re venturing into territory that’s unfamiliar, a little knowledge could help. Sag is great for educating the Self, as well as being able to go forward with a little faith–and fair combination of the two will help you get the most from this Moon.

Favorite mini-aspects for today: Venus semi-sextile Zeus (ay-carumba! Passion, sex, and desire are easily stirred) and Earth semi-sextile Neptune (dreaming can change the environment, or even materialize what lies in our imaginations–the caveat is, be careful what you fantasize about!)

And have a great one!

Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

Late evening 10-ish PDT of the 18th the Moon meets Pallas in Scorpio, setting a tone of emotional depth and wisdom–this is a great energy to kick off the week, and for as long as you can recall the essence of how this made you feel, you’ll have this energy available all week (or longer!)

By 2:30 AM of the 19th we have the Moon sextiling Venus in Virgo–oh, the places our Virgin Love Goddess will go, when moved by the mystery and power of a Scorpio Moon! Reward is there, in whatever form Venus is most likely to take (indicated by the natal chart) for you.

By 6 AM PDT the Moon trines the South Node in Water; the emotional past is accessible–don’t sentimentalize, but instead take what you can use from your emotional experience and apply it to the path you’re on now–nothing beats a lesson lived to help us discern future good choices.

6:30 PM PDT and the Moon squares Mercury in Leo. Emotions may make us speak up, especially when we’re confronted with a roaring ego! It’s likely to be okay, considering the other party is bent on just hearing themselves–but you may not like yourself much if you really let go. Sticking to legitimate gripes and avoiding rants may be the way to let it all out without creating true chaos in the process.

By 1:30 AM PDT of the 20th the Moon trines Juno in Water, pulling together the day’s influences into a tiny emotional map of empowerment tailored just for you. It’s a great way to start the week, as long as we can take the day’s emotional revelations and really apply them to life circumstances.

Finger of God, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

Everything today seems to be a call to know our own power; since the early morning inventory-taking, we find we are faced repeatedly with assessing our strength and effectiveness in the world. The Moon enters Scorpio at 10:41 AM PDT, and issues surrounding our own ability to make an impact on our surroundings, particularly in the area with Scorpio on the cusp natally, come front and center.

Of course we are still grappling with the Cardinal T of Jupiter/ Uranus, opposed Saturn, all square Pluto, with our ability to do and change on a personal level foremost, and this energy pulls our attention (almost obsessively) toward the ways in which we have (or haven’t) been showing our unique abilities. Some disappointment is almost guaranteed, as these are demanding energies that will see anything less than big success as not good enough. The taskmaster nun that is the Universe seems to be whacking our knuckles with a ruler, and we rather stupidly feel we deserve it–the Scorpio Moon and her trine to Chiron raises possibilities of nebulous guilt that are just looking for something in our real life to latch on to–and the harsh judgment we are sensing in the T energies too are bent on finding a home in our tender psyches.

Trying to refute this kind of assault head-on is not a good idea–instead we have to find other formidable energies that bolster other parts of the psyche and senses, and then we must adopt that viewpoint as our own. I nominate a Finger of God with Juno/ Sedna base, apex Ceres. We won’t see it, but it’s there; personal empowerment is ours, we just have to assume we’ve got it, and proceed from that point. Channeling this power (a power that comes from caring, from a willingness to offer nurture and affection-Cancer placement Juno) into its most natural form of authority and expression (for instance, in any relationship or role where we are the person in charge, the caretaker, where it is our job to teach, inform, inspire faith, or get the word out-Sagittarius placement Ceres). What we can’t see (Sedna) will be what serves to make our lives stable and comfortable, what grounds us (Taurus placement Sedna), and normally that might mean our own choices and actions could threaten us–but here we have the guidance of caring (Cancer) and our own active knowledge and belief (Sag) to guide us. Peak time when we might actually, inadvertently destroy something: 3-6 PM PDT as the Moon sextiles Pluto.

Moon in Sagittarius, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

That ol’ Scorpio Moon squares Saturn and sextiles Neptune just before entering the Void at 8:32 AM Pacific time on the 23rd. The effect is startling, either shaking up your reality and setting you off on a quest to realize ideals, or gauzing it over with a lovely layer of fuzzy imaginings, and in either case, the energy may change course completely as the Moon enters Sagittarius, at 11:09 AM PDT. In Sag the Moon trines Uranus and Jupiter and squares Chiron, setting up more umexpected opportunities and blind alleys, and we may hesitate to follow either as we fear it may hurt. Disorientation may be the order of the day; instead of trying too hard to organize and control, today may be a day to sit back and just go with the twists and turns. A relaxed approach may allow us to really enjoy what happens, without taking any of it too seriously!

The message, mostly, is to just let it all go. There’s no holding on to what doesn’t belong to us, anyway, so all the anxiety of late is mostly for naught. Venus sextiles Zeus, bringing up all kinds of possession, earnings, and relationship worry; it’s easy to feel that something must be done, but engaging with this energy will only wear you out. We’re coming up to the Full Moon/eclipse, and what we can do most to help ourselves is to just sit back and let it all go by. Access your Pisces, and engage in the activities of the House with this Water sign on the cusp, as we’ll probably be feeling like we’re having an out-of-body experience, anyway–might as well enjoy it!

Next up, the Full Moon report! Extra dimension is offered in the Spring ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Includes the July forecast, a month I’m thinking will be off the charts in some ways.

Relax! And have a good one!

22 June 2010: Aggression Becomes Compassion

We have Mars/ Vesta conjunct in Virgo, sextile Juno in Cancer, and this may express the heart of things for the 22nd: our own and others’ Will may be seen as sacred by the various parties, where each grants her- or himself the right to critique, criticize, and nitpick, but woe unto the individual who tries to apply these exercises in discernment to others. Criticism will not be well received, and we won’t accept a laundry list of our own faults well, either–but that’s not all . . .

Aggression, or at least Self-assertion, will be seen as a right, and we may be very intent on implementing our Will, particularly on the home front, in the sex life, and in those areas we see as sacrosanct. If we can fix on facts and details, and use them as a kind of rational baseline, we can then set reasonable boundaries between asserting ourselves and respecting others.

The sextile to Juno only hypes up the vibe, but with one significant addition: if we use the considerable confidence and energy to take caring action, to nurture others, and to practice true empathy, we can take these most prevalent influences and turn them into hugely productive actions that are wonderfully beneficial to those who surround us. A calm, loving, caring Cancer manner, assisted by the depth of feeling and the ability to embrace even the darkness with total acceptance that is the gift of the Scorpio Moon, will serve us well today, as our contribution can make a real difference.

21 June 2010: The Arrow of Purpose

In the 1 AM hour PDT we see the Libra Moon move into trine with Neptune in Aquarius, and even as the Moon is poised to trine the Sun in Gemini–and of course, technically there is a Grand Trine formed–or is there? as the Sun proceeds into Cancer before contact from the Moon–which means the Moon’s Void begins as it moves away from Neptune, starting at 2:45 AM PDT. This may offer us a ‘grand’ feeling, with big potential, especially along creative lines, but the impetus fades and we pick up a new energy thread with the Moon’s entry into Scorpio, at 5:13 AM PDT.

We should draw both inspiration and direction for the day from the Kite formed with the Moon at 00 Scorpio, sextile the 00 Earth, sextile 00 Chiron, trine 00 Sun trine the Moon (during the 5 AM hour PDT). We must attend to the material (the Earth at one ‘point’ of the Kite) as a direct representation of the spiritual and the personal (Sun at the opposite point). We receive an assist from intense emotion and what we’ve learned/ what skills we possess via Chiron. Put simply, it’s a day for using the Kite like a bow and propelling our Purpose (the Sun) forward on the Path, certainly an apt intention in the welcoming maximum light of the Summer Solstice. (See more on the Solstice here http://judecowell.wordpress.com/2010/04/14/looking-ahead-to-summer-solstice-2010/ and here http://www.starsoverwashington.com/2010/04/horoscope-of-summer-solstice-2010.html

The Moon’s quincunx to Uranus, also at 00 and formed simltaneous with the Kite, gives us a warning: the one thing we may have to adjust for will be the unexpected, something that when we roll out of bed in the morning we just won’t be able to anticipate. Look to the House Uranus is currently transiting in the natal chart, and to the House with Aquarius on the cusp, for the most likely arena for the surprise–and know that adjusting to it means the way will be clear to draw our bow and send our arrow of Purpose and intent into the future.

Either side of noon PDT the Moon offers another assist, by conjunction to Pallas and sextile to Pluto. We’ll see what’s wise and be able to purge what’s no longer of use, emotionally or otherwise. Don’t make too much of this, just use the energy and move on–it’s most effective when such assistance is accepted as part of the everyday, even as we are extraordinarily grateful for the aid.

Final note for today happens with the Moon’s square to Venus around the 7 PM hour PDT. We are shown quite plainly what the changes and actions of the day will cost, and we may be challenged to justify our direction to our important relationships, and perhaps to our finances. It’s important to pay attention to feelings at this time, especially our own, as we can learn a little more about what’s important to us in the process.

Between the coming eclipse set, and some high-tension aspects coming in early July, we can expect things to too easily slip off the rails. Though I’ll cover most of the main points here, at this time it’ll be the details that may make the difference;  guidance is available via the eclipse reports and July forecast in ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Your support is appreciated! And there’s no risk–I’ll be happy to refund the money of anyone who doesn’t think it’s worth it.

Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

With Vesta quincunx Uranus and Jupiter, and all but Jupiter at 29 degrees, we’re having our values (Vesta) challenged–not directly, but obliquely, as we receive demands disguised as gifts, and others seek to alleviate their own stress (those 29 degree placements). If ever there was a time when one individual or group sought to use another (not necessarily in a demeaning or inappropriate way, but definitely in a way that petitions for your time or energy, piggybacks on your efforts, or seeks to trade on your name) it’s now. Don’t adjust what’s sacred to you out of guilt or a wish to accomodate–you have a right to say no, to keep your energy for yourself–it’s your choice, and neither option is superior, morally, spiritually, or otherwise. The transiting Scorpio Moon hits Pallas noon-ish today PDT and we can follow emotions to the wisdom they contain.

An opposition to Mercury 3-4 ish just suggests we keep our mouths shut, to keep the peace (do I hear protests? Some should consider that others knowing your every thought is not the gift you might think it is! Just sayin’–and this from a blogger! )  🙂

8 PM PDT brings the Moon semi-sextile to Zeus and sextile the North Node. Some may feel a tad threatened (or be threatening) without really knowing why–limit reactivity and you limit any chance of fallout.

The Moon’s transit through Scorpio is always one of those times when people are more than usually prone to act from the subconscious–so careful observation can help clue you in to what they’re really after (or in need of), and can help you see the message behind the contact.

24-25 May 2010: The Hitch in Our Giddy-Up

23 Sunday May 2010

Moon in Libra, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

Around 8 AM PDT the Libra Moon aspects both Sedna (by quincunx) and Juno (by trine), and that makes for an unusual influence: we are feeling emotionally empowered, and that means sure of ourselves, especially regarding our relationships and our aesthetics (Libra), but we may find we must adjust our feelings to accommodate something we are sensing but not able to pinpoint (Sedna). This can make for confusion and an unsettling fear of commitment; we want to be definitive, say ‘yes,’ but something is bothering us, and it’s no where in sight. Know that the uneasiness is seated in our fear of being blindsided; it makes us alert, but the only people who might find an actual hitch in their giddy-up are those with natal placements at 21 degrees–if these receive a hard aspect from the Moon (placements at 21 of the Cardinals), Juno (21 of the Mutables), or Sedna (21 of the Fixed signs), then you can look to this natal energy or where it’s placed for the ‘hidden’ source of your uneasiness.

The Moon sextiles Mars around 11 AM PDT and we have the energy to attack whatever we get in our sights–it’s our job to make sure that’s a goal and not a helpless bystander, much less a partner or mate–Libra inclines us to channel the energy toward those with whom we have a co-operative relationship (or those from whom we think we should get co-operation). We can get caught up in the ‘who’ of things and miss the impetus for action; try not to.

Before 8 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Jupiter, making us aware of how we must adjust emotionally to the social scene, and then the Moon trines Neptune, inclining some to a perfect experience, allowing fantasy and imagination to reign, and bringing ideal situations before us; a scant few will find themselves deluded, fooled, or outright lied to. Again, the Libra Moon makes us hyper-aware of the others in our lives, and we can either let Neptune bring out the best or the worst in us and our relationships.

10-ish the Moon sextiles Vesta and quincunxes Uranus, and we may respond by modifying our wilder or more  impetuous inclinations in order to respect something we find sacred–it’s an opportunity to walk our talk, and we should take it. Void begins at 11:09 PM PDT. The Moon enters Scorpio at 11:17 PM PDT, and immediately trines Chiron in Pisces, suggesting this will be a healing influence for those open to it; for a few it will be interpreted as a good time to play the martyr or wounded one–easy to sort the positive individuals from the not so.

3:30-ish AM PDT on the 25th brings a sextile to Ceres, followed by a 6 AM quincunx to the Sun, and an 8 AM sextile to Pluto. This series of aspects sends the emotional outlook into a tailspin, as we try to do the right thing and yet find we not only must adjust our attitudes (unfairly, it seems) but that no matter what our choices are, they have consequences that are equal parts destructive and transformative. By 10 AM the Moon trines Venus and we get the pay off, emotional (Water signs) or otherwise–and what a long strange trip it’s been.

Finger of God, Moon, Moon in Libra, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary

After the Moon’s moment of truth with the Nodes, all’s quiet until post midnight PDT, when the Libra Moon quincunxes Sedna. The big influence here is that our own emotions (in fact, the emotions of everyone) will be hidden from us, with the danger that we’ll act and make decisions, especially in relationship (Libra), without being aware of how we truly feel–and worse, our feelings may come out, uncontrolled and uncensored, and if we’re normally circumspect with our feelings we may be embarrassed, horrified, and/or those we interact with may be–so it’s a time to perhaps stick to the facts, and the well-worn emotional path, just for safety’s sake.

By 2 AM PDT or so on the 27th there’s a briefly formed Finger of God involving the Moon as apex and a base of Jupiter sextile Sedna. This adds to and exaggerates the previous effect, with a sextile to Vesta suggesting that the inclination might be to deal with those things most important to us, the worst idea we could have at this point–lay low, if possible–I certainly hope to be sound asleep!

Around noon on the 27th Pacific time the Moon trines Neptune and quincunxes Uranus, bringing forward a unique emotional response: we so want to go with the fantasy, with the delusion, with the lie, or with the expression of the dream or ideal, but our own individuality, or the group as a whole, gets in the way. How? It’s really a saving spark when it’s ourselves that cause the barrier or need for adjustment, as in allowing the Uranian influence we are allowing all that’s most unique within us to speak, and that’s good; if it’s the group that affects things, we can be sure that we’re projecting the effects so that we don’t have to be the one dashing those Neptunian temptations. Either way, an interesting go round.

12:46 PM PDT the Moon goes Void-of-Course, entering Scorpio at 3:28 PM. Right away there’s a trine to Chiron in Water (will our emo trials never end? see a few brief ideas on what we can expect from Chiron in Pisces in the Forecast portion of the new issue of ‘ECLIPSE’) The Moon trine Chiron may open our wounded Self wide, where our emotional nature searches for (Scorpio) the depth of and reasons for the hurt–and for some this will bring hurt out of nowhere–it’s just suddenly on our minds–but we need to respond with a willingness to transform the energies of whatever we’re presented with so that our skills are called upon; maybe easier said than done, but an attitude that’s willing to cope will be enough.

8:30-ish PM PDT and the Moon quincunxes Venus. We may be feeling the less-positive facets of Scorpio at this point, lashing out with a (probably) uncharacteristic sting, and the likely vehicle may be harsh words or even thoughts (Gemini) in relationship (Venus). Hold your tongue. By 10 PM the Moon sextiles Ceres, and by 11:30 PM it hits Pluto, and if we haven’t kept the peace we may be feeling the effects, with authorities and the powerful making easy pickin’s of our emotional chaos. I hate to be a broken record, but laying low may be the best choice.

Next up, the Full Moon!

1 April 2010: Sorting It Out, Making It Happen

Jupiter und Antiope by Franz Anton Maulbertsch 1780

The start of the day, at least for West Coasters, sees the Moon mid-Scorpio, ready to sextile the North Node, then trine Jupiter; that’s offering a surge of energy buoyed by emotion–we can get a lot done, whether we’re inspired or acting out of a need to uncover, find out, push forward that can reach dysfunctional proportions. We shouldn’t thumb our noses at the ‘whys’ behind our actions, though, as the result is the same whether we’re aware of our motivations or not: massive amounts of work well done, a strong sense of having accomplished, and a solid chance to alleviate any guilt we may be carrying (a Scorpio Moon can see us make the most of what we might otherwise consider negative). This influence lasts well into afternoon PDT–use it!

By 4 PM PDT the Moon comes into range of opposing Juno and Sedna, and conjuncting Pallas, and this effect lasts until about 9 PM. The influence is one we literally can’t discern, but that is active nonetheless. The general thrust is that our emotions will offer wise guidance; follow them and we can’t go wrong. The challenge is that we may not know how we feel! The problem will be one of empowerment; we may not recognize what may be empowering to us, may not see the ways others are empowered and how that affects us, and we may come up short as we fail to realize that we are being driven to find a path that makes us feel empowered–and this latter can lead us in the wrong direction, as we seek to feel powerful no matter what; we may also be prone to project problems and the ability to make a difference onto the partner. What we need to recognize is that everyone within the situation is being driven by the same thing, the need to feel they are in charge of their own choices, to be respected, and to feel effective within the scenario presented. Keeping this in mind will help make the energies more conscious and will help us understand what’s behind our own and others’ choices–and that means we can head off trouble at the pass.

Empowerment issues will only be muddled by today’s perfection of the Earth/ Zeus conjunction, which blends the material and the ambitions and Will into one indistinguishable mass. We may invest the physical, possessions, and getting our way with far too much importance, and could easily confuse changes to the material situation with an assault on ourselves. Take a step back from material changes before reacting; the Scorp Moon could easily attach hidden emotional upset about other things to this situation, so remain aware of the possibilities.

By 4 AM on the 2nd the Scorpio Moon is within orb of a square to Neptune and a trine to Uranus, suggesting that, though we can draw deep to make the original move, to create, to educate, we must discern upon what our inspiration is based: ideals, imagination, or delusion? Knowing the difference can make the square of the Moon to Chiron that follows (around 8 AM PDT) a celebration of skills brought forward, rather than a recoiling from hurt over pursuing a mirage. At 29 degrees Chiron is, on the one hand, not fooling around; on the other, though, it can feel like the energy is really doing a number on us, feinting and jabbing, as our own unique primal wound gets repeatedly poked.

The Void begins at 8:21 AM PDT on April 2nd; Moon enters Sagittarius (9:52 AM PDT) and immediately quincunxes Mercury and sextiles Saturn, all at 00 of their respective signs. This can be an awkward combination, as the urge to reach out and commune and communicate is strong but raw–success depends on how much Self-discipline we are willing to apply to the outreach and how much maturity with which we’re willing to invest our communications. Restraint is the ideal.
