The 10th card in Rorschach's ink blot series; what do you see? 1921 {{PD}}

First Lunar aspect in Virgo is the Moon opposed Neptune, 10 AM PDT. We could have a couple of responses, one of which is complete rejection of anything fanciful, imaginative, or meant to stretch or elaborate on the truth. We could end up seeing fantasy come to life–and wonder why it just doesn’t look right. Then there’s the chance that we run toward a mirage–or that we feel like we’re surrounded by liars. Whatever comes forward may be an informal Rorschach test that tells us more about ourselves and our viewpoint on the world than it does about our surroundings.

By 2 PM Pacific the Moon conjuncts retro Mars. We are not, in reality, ready to act, but oh we may feel we are. Use that Virgo Moon to take inventory, to go over the details, and plan plan plan. Save your moves for later or, if you must, the dance floor.

Full Moon in Virgo 8 March 2012: ‘The Coming-of-Age Moon’

All the while I was growing up, visiting the Taj Mahal was a goal; so far, still unfulfilled. 'Taj Mahal by Moonlight' Bartlett 1923 {{PD-Art}}

The Full Moon arrives on the 8th at 1:38 AM Pacific time at 18 Virgo 13. Using our strict 2 degree rule, the Full Moon itself only makes one aspect, a quincunx to Ceres, linking this culmination to harvest, both through Virgo and through the asteroid of nature and nurture. We reap what we’ve sown, plain and simple.

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘A Swimming Race’ We couldn’t have it laid out more cleanly: we find out who won, in whatever venue we have been running a race, but likely connected in some way to the House axis across which this Full Moon lies. We also look at the Sun for a Full Moon: ‘A Master Instructing His Disciple’ This suggests the possibility that the ‘race’ in question is one we have been running with someone close to us, a ‘student’ or our own mentor. It may be time for the student to surpass the teacher, the one who was learning to now teach–in any case it suggests a change in roles that is solid, permanent, and that signifies new duties for all involved. The contact to Ceres links this very strongly to changes in authority, and possibly territory and responsibility, with overtones that what occurs here is an ancient story, the way of nature, or, to get all Disney on you, the circle of life 🙂

Seurat 1883-1884 {{PD-Art}}

Void begins at 8:43 AM PST; the Moon enters Virgo at 9:33 AM Pacific. Immediately Luna opposes Neptune and quincunxes Venus, and we either become hyper-critical of those who are imaginative, ungrounded, or who are preferring fantasy to reality, or we lose sight of the details in a need for escape or relief. What we need to see is that this will cost us; how much is dependent on whether or not we are able to adjust our reactions to respect our relationships.

Approaching 3 PM Pacific the Moon trines Jupiter in Earth–and if we want to be generous, we could say this starts a big ol’ sloppy Grand Trine with Pluto–and may set up a kind of push and pull between emotional needs/ material insecurities and big scary change either personally, to what we ‘know’, or on a broader scale, before us on the panorama of the social scene. It’s odd that a Trine would create an energy that is more like an opposition, but in this case it feels like things shake out with wee personal feelings and vulnerabilities on one side and massive, threatening changes affecting whole segments of society on the other.

4 PM PST the Moon opposes Chiron–if it hurts, we’ll find it, and give it a good salt rubbin’! Here’s the thing with this: the pain is almost entirely Self-inflicted; with some emotional discipline and rational perspective (accessible during a Virgo Moon transit) we can separate ourselves from our wounds rather neatly. So try that.

Depiction of an 1871 battle at Pere-Lachaise cemetery in Paris, burial place of Chopin, Pissarro, Proust, and Door Jim Morrison, among others. Philippoteaux {{PD-Art}}

2 AM PST the Moon opposes Ceres–here the emotions may push us to contradict or confront a maternal energy, or an authority who demands acquiescence or negotiation (the latter for what we likely feel are our rights!) Just know that you will not change this person’s mind; they believe in their own authority, and their right to be an authority over you. Stick to the facts and insist that others do so, if you want to actively maintain your autonomy.

4 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Neptune, suggesting that we modify our feeling in order to deal with illusion, deception offered, or delusion, all likely of an intellectual nature. Imagine an encounter where someone tries to persuade you of something by appealing to the logic and reason of the intellect–and yet does not embrace fact or make sense! Clear thinking will help you navigate this, along with a willingness to see what’s really in front of you.

Void begins at 4:15 AM PST; the Moon enters Libra at 5:28 AM PST. First aspect is the Moon quincunx Venus; we may be wondering how our emotional perceptions varied so much from our concept of love, and we are reminded of how to put the relationship right again. The dissonance came about through the petty narrowing of focus that it’s easy to fall into when working things out with others (Libra)–now we are re-focused on the Love principle, with positive results. This is the start of a Finger of God with base of Venus/ Jupiter, apex of Moon, that suggests taking a more Universal approach (Pisces) on the social scene (Jupiter) may be the key to emotional fulfillment in relationship at this time, with Taurus implying a material, nurturing, or artistic component to the equation.

Remember, effects stretch about 4 hours either side of exact (with times listed here being close to, but typically just before, perfection). To see more, please subscribe! And please see the post for the 13th if you’re interested in services–I’m almost totally booked–thanks!  BOOKED OUT FOR THIS SESSION–THANK YOU!

A Virgo Moon inclines us to detailed work and a practical attitude. del Cossa c1470 Fresco at Palazzo Shifanoia {{PD-Art}}

Void begins at 12:24 AM Pacific time; the Moon enters Virgo at 1:45 AM PST. We kick off the Moon’s transit of Virgo with a trine to Jupiter, suggesting that the entire passage may present us with exaggerated accounting, attention to detail, focus on the harvest and results, and a propensity toward criticism and dissection of situations. Virgo is not a friendly sign, in the conventional meaning, but it does find the breaking of bread and sharing of results worked for particularly rewarding–and this is the way to relate when nitpicking or critique threatens to separate us from one another.

Post-noon Pacific time the Moon trines Mercury, then moves directly after to trine Pluto. This brings emotional awareness to a deep knowing that has been building and moving toward consciousness over the past 4-5 days, and inaugurates a period of radical (and perhaps destructive) honesty and revelation. Some with natal inclinations to use words as weapons may succumb at this point, but for most of us, this is a chance to contact intense and possibly buried feelings and thoughts that will help us to a much greater understanding of ourselves and our world. Note what comes to the mental surface–this is vital and useful information.

If you are here often, please subscribe–at only $5 per month, it’s affordable for everyone, and it generously supports the work I do. Thank You!

Just after 8 PM PST the Moon squares the Nodal axis, perhaps making us question our life direction, through an emotional perception or intuition. Take care not to jump to conclusions as this feeling is likely ephemeral, and will be gone shortly. This is especially important to know as by 10 PM Pacific the Moon conjuncts Mars and we may be strongly moved to do something, with that critical emotional Virgoan eye fixed on the most recent matter that looks to need fixing. Following the urge can make for bigger consequences than we anticipate, create a mess, and/ or foster a lot of regret as we decide that wasn’t the problem after all.

Please subscribe–it’s the only way to get it all! Thank you!

My poll on interest in a publication for beginners drew low, though qualified positive, responses–too few for a separate publication–and at $5 per month the current magazine is as low as cost will go, and already contains a lot of useful material for those interested in learning (though admittedly it’s not so good for those only interested in Sun sign level advice). So, things stay as they are–thank you for your participation!

3 PM PST the Leo Moon sextiles Saturn, bringing us back to earth (probably with a big ol’ thump!) Accept the need for emotional and intuitive discipline at this time; if you do, you can do wonders, especially in partnership and aesthetic matters.

Just before 10 PM PST the Virgo Moon opposes Chiron. We may see a tug-of-war, internal or external, over humanitarianism v. a more critical view of mankind and its obligations and potentials. Could bring a great deal of distress to those who espouse one view but secretly hold the other.

Just a Little Weekend Essence 19-20 November 2011: ‘A Powerful Time’

19 Saturday Nov 2011

'Stonehenge' Constable {{PD-Art}}

For Saturday the 19th:

6 PM PST the Moon opposes Ceres. Will we be the highly emotional party, expressing at the feet of big bad authority, or will we be Self-possessed and perhaps a tad intrusive, distressing another with our non-co-operation? As always, neither viewpoint is superior–along with highly emotional comes the guise of being harmless and even powerless, and yet refusal to accept one’s own power is not the other person’s fault; and being cool and collected doesn’t mean you are any stronger, better, or less feeling than your ‘opponent’–it just seems that way.

And for Sunday the 20th:

Around 4 AM Pacific time the Virgo Moon squares Venus and trines Sedna. Could we have a bigger recipe for disaster? And which will we choose to f*** up, Love or Money? It’s not that we won’t be trying to do the right thing for ourselves and others, it’s that we won’t be able to feel, know, or intuit the actual situation–and if we don’t know where we are, we certainly can’t know which way (figuratively, that is) to go. The tendency may be to be critical based on what’s in our minds, not how things really are–and it only goes downhill from there :(   We’d do best to play it cool and calm in relationships, and keep our financial situation just where it is, for the moment.

1:30 PM PST the Moon sextiles the Sun (and naturally, trines the Earth!) leaving us with a sense of being ‘on the right track’, despite the simultaneous Lunar quincunx to Neptune; the latter aspect suggests we may be prompted to adjust our emotions so that illusion is ‘illuminated,’ and so possibly eliminated. Bonus x-ray influence: Can help us see who’s telling us whoppers! And, if you have a placement at 25 Cancer through 1 Leo, this creates a Grand Trine for you that, depending on the natal body aspected, could ignite dreams or creativity in a major way.

Void begins 11:06 AM PST; Moon enters Virgo at 2:19 PM Pacific time. Right away we have an opposition to Chiron and quincunx to Uranus. We may be very critical of our own or others’ wounds, or of our own or others’ efforts at healing; the more critical we find ourselves being, in fact, the more likely it is that we are having some ego problems, probably in relation to the group, that are prompting us to insist on showing our individuality. We can be sure that if this is the source of our impulse, we are not being original, innovative, or constructive in any way. Take a healing stance and if possible diffuse Self-focus; these two measures will help you avoid what could become a very unpleasant interlude, especially in terms of relationships.

Just a Little Essence for the Weekend 22-23 October 2011: ‘It’s a Virgo Moon Weekend-Be Ready’

Olaus Magnus 'A Marriage Ready to be Confirmed by the striking together of flint and steel' 1555 {{PD-Art}}

4 PM PDT on the 22nd the Moon trines Pluto–we can change ‘it,’ and we might have a superior intuitive faculty at our disposal with which to do it. This begins a Grand Trine, with the other point being Jupiter in Taurus. This could set up ‘Great Expectations’  where we either try to make massive changes simultaneously in several areas, where we expect to alter a single thing and be met with enormous transformation automatically, or where we expect ‘big results’ by showing our emotions, especially rage. It can be a misleading influence, where we feel a strong emotional impetus to change our surroundings (Earth) and our expectations almost right away become overblown. The balance of a Grand Trine could also present us with the idea to change things but could keep us static, not making a move, content to just think about all we would transform. Try to mobilize this combination to serve something you intuitively and concretely know needs change, but that you’ve been loathe to tackle because it seemed overwhelming–this is the best use of this energy. As an aside, this could make for a big, scary, even dangerous Saturday night for some! so use care when operating.

11:30 AM PDT of the 23rd sees the Moon oppose Ceres–emotional viewpoint may be confronted by Mother Nature, a maternal figure, or authorities, and could feel very defensive as a result. We will have an intuitive inkling, however, as to the reason behind the confrontation, and so if we can avoid an emo response we can assess the real matter (for it may be that we need a good whack upside our figurative heads! or we may see that this is really about the confronter themselves) and give a more appropriate response than we might otherwise. At this same point, the Sun enters Scorpio–and we should expect a spotlight on those nooks and crannies–be ready!
