Post 10 AM PST the Aries Moon opposes Saturn in Libra. Will it be us, putting the brakes on ourselves and our assertive emotional (or emotion-driven assertion) Self, or will someone or something else throw obstacles in our path? We either meld the emotional perceptions with Saturn principles and hobble ourselves (and this isn’t necessarily bad!) or we feel divorced from the ideas of repression, restraint, Self-discipline, or tradition and the rules, and someone else steps in to give us a smackdown. Don’t take it personally–take it instead as the Universe helping us to avoid disaster :)

Around 4 PM PST the Moon hits the midpoint of Ceres/ Earth. May create a sudden, flowing emotional connection, like a heartbeat or a nerve impulse, between the individual and the Earth or nature. The sense is that the planet is alive, moving, respiring beneath our feet, that the air is a prana meant to fill us, the awareness not just of our connectedness but of ourselves as integral parts (though that word sounds too separate) of nature. Can be refreshing, replenishing, healing, and offer an entirely new viewpoint, even for those long in close contact with Mother Earth.

By 5 PM Pacific the Moon is quincunx the Sun; we may be busy adjusting our Self-image, or our Purpose, or even our emotional response to existence. The kind of moment that at one time was defined as ‘heavy’ :)

9 PM PST sees the Arian Moon trine Mercury and square Pluto. It’s easy to communicate–but what we hear, say, write, learn, or convey through action (Aries) or by broadcasting, reaching out, or through education channels (Sagittarius) may be a game-changer–or destroyer. The contrast between the ease with which our thoughts flow and the effect they have on others or a situation can’t be overemphasized. Our emotional Self-focus (Moon in Aries) makes it tough to anticipate the impact of our communications; look to the matters of the House where Pluto now transits, the House where Pluto is posited natally, and the House ruled by Pluto in the natal chart, to see in which direction the change or destruction might flow.

8 AM PDT the Pisces Moon conjuncts Ceres, uniting the emotional perceptions with a sense of power–or does it? Reaction to this may depend on your association between the main maternal figure in your life and power–if there are or were struggles, or a feeling of powerlessness in her presence, or if your power continually had to be negotiated for, you might not enjoy this transit much. ‘Flashback’ could be the word for the day.

8 PM PDT we have a Finger of God with base of Moon/ Sedna and apex of Saturn in Libra. This suggests that we don’t know our feelings at this point–and by not knowing them, we solidify something in relationship. Instead of the usual, ‘We must make the base work to get to the apex energy,’ this Finger will ‘point’ of its own accord, no effort required. There’s almost no way to be prepared for this–hidden or suppressed energies likely will out.

8 AM the Pisces Moon sextiles Jupiter; can it get any better? Oh yes, we will feel expansive, and connecting with others will come naturally (I mean, without any awkwardness or reticence). Just before 10 AM PDT the Moon sextiles Pluto, and this may have the effect of deepening what’s already in front of us. Can add resonance to the emotional scene and bring a seriousness that will nurture the intimacy of any connections we’re making at this time.

I’m unhappy to see an effective mass protest that held so much promise devolve into a stereotype. I gather those promoting violence have been repudiated by the OWS–and that gave me hope that the movement will continue without the destruction.

4:30 PM PDT the Aquarian Moon opposes Mars; there are two (or more!) possible effects, most likely being a sense that we’ve been stripped of ego by some emotional occurrence, or that we must confront the anger of another with only our intuition and feeling nature to guide us. Could be a little scary, for a variety of reasons. There may be a feeling that we should do something to ‘handle’ the situation, but we should keep in mind that the upset is really someone else’s–they’re just trying to share.

On a personal note, I was caught downtown about 8:30 PM of the 2nd in an offshoot of the Occupy Seattle movement; I’m very much in sympathy with the movement itself, but these people who wore hoods, linked arms to block street access, and carried bats, did not seem to be looking for reformation of the system, but to intimidate. There’s an old aphorism that you can’t end war by hating war, you must instead love peace; in this instance, I think these protesters might need to re-evaluate an approach that used threats of violence to . . . what? The only point they made to me was that those who choose this approach do so to make themselves feel important, to feel they are ‘doing something.’ If all you’re adding to the world is hate, are you any better than the people and methods you object to? And if what you’re doing is done with integrity, if you’re proud of it, why are you wearing hoods?

Just after 7:30 AM PDT the Aquarian Moon squares the Sun/ Earth axis, bringing our abilities to assess our progress on the Path and in material matters to a sharpened focus. We survey it all with a cool eye; in fact, we must, as we are prompted by some sort of emotional disturbance to look closely at what we’re up to. At this point, we’re unlikely to be dissatisfied with our efforts.

5:30 PM PDT the Moon makes for a lovely Grand Trine with h.Zeus and the South Node. We draw on past experience to align the emotional state with the ambitions and desires; this is like fuel, removing internal obstacles to ambition fulfillment. Can give one a real boost, especially in attitude, and if you have plans in place, this can make them soar.

Unfortunately, this is a day of mostly warnings (see the rest on the protected page, by subscription). Just after midnight the Capricorn Moon trines Sedna and squares Saturn. We can’t see obstacles, problems, or boundaries! Good for pushing forward with dreams,unless those dreams take us near cliffs or heavy machinery. The quincunx between Saturn and Sedna is lingering and means we’ll have difficulty for some time knowing when enough is enough, what the rules really are, and when to, as Nancy R. so eloquently put it, “Just say no.” The Moon’s contact only brings the emotional and intuitive energies to focus in this direction, in this case with an almost criminally easy disregard for the rules. Play it safe, or takes your chances :)

5 PM Pacific the Aquarian Moon sextiles Uranus, bringing little emotional shocks, surprises, and revelations–and maybe more than one of these. We know emotionally what about our own actions or ego has drawn these to us; it’s a point of understanding that is bigger than its parts.

Merc joins Venus at 29 degrees–and we probably won’t be able to stop communicating, or thinking about, our Venus pressures! There might be a lot of thinking about passions, values, and the worth of things, so that we may be quite abruptly prompted to drop certain interests, seemingly out of the blue.

for Saturday, the 29th (remember, effects span 3-4 hours either side of a Lunar aspect)

Right before 10 PM PDT the Sag Moon trines Mars in Leo; does this bring some Fire into our lives? Maybe, if we’ve recently had a lot of Indian food, or if we are inclined to big, expansive emotional displays that are tightly linked to the ego. Everyone else might simply be prompted to finally take the first step on that exotic trip they’ve been dreaming about, to finally act on long-time feelings, or to head for the horizon, literally or figuratively, looking for ‘more’ or ‘better’ Make choices with care; even if we wake up somewhere new, we still have a lot of ‘old’ to deal with.

. . . and for the 30th

6 AM Pacific time sees the Sag Moon sextile Neptune. This can make us think we know things, even though those things are really figments of our imaginations. Though we normally may see ourselves as psychic, sensitive, or just plain observant, the Neptune placement in Aquarius is too mind-focused to allow a true psychic flow–we instead substitute the mentality, and the Sag Moon brings an emphasis on knowing that doesn’t like to go unanswered, with the combination substituting the imagination and supposition for psychic perception. Just so you know.

Void begins 6:30 AM PDT, exacerbating the tendency promised by the previous aspect to lead ourselves astray; Moon enters Capricorn, sign of tough little goats climbing rock solid mountains of facts, at 9:39 AM PDT. Could be a tremendous jolt for those who got swept away by their own ‘psychic vision aka trick of the imagination’ Now reality will intrude–probably rudely. Everyone else may breathe a sigh of relief as what is takes firm shape around us and we gain confidence and security in dealing with matter, not fantasy. The opening sextile to Chiron can make us sensitive, and/ or draw forward our Chirotic skills in real-world ways; Pallas sits at the Moon/ Chiron midpoint, infusing the effort with wisdom and purpose.
