27 March wisdom comes from Nature, our own inner nature or what we observe in the wild. Connecting with the nature/ wisdom message could be the doorway to healing empowerment situations, and to changing what needs to be changed, in particular our current way of taking in and processing information; it may be important to break down our old method of mental processing (which probably contains a lot of assumptions that are no longer valid) in order to construct something more suitable to how we think and how we communicate now; our example, once again, is in Nature, or found in consciously harmonizing our inner process with our current needs. (Perfecting today: Pallas parallel Ceres, Chiron contra-parallel and Pluto square Juno, Mercury sesquiquadrate the North Node and Vesta, and sextile Pluto)

Today’s image is a color: a blue slightly darker and richer than a peacock’s feather. Whenever you see it, you’ll know it’s a marker in time, a synchronous moment, or a flag telling you something important is happening, and so to pay attention.

‘Camp Fire’ by Winslow Homer 1880 {{PD}}

Today’s image is each of us, sitting at a campfire as the sun comes up, cradling one of those enameled-tin cups of hot coffee between your cold hands. This suggests both a change of pace is in order (a ‘camping trip’ of one kind or another), and that an appreciation of the little things will really serve us well right now.

'Nighthawks' Edward Hopper 1942 {{PD}}

‘Nighthawks’ Edward Hopper 1942 {{PD}}

2 AM PST of the 20th the Scorpio Moon sextiles Pluto and squares Venus. We may get perversely destructive or nosy in relationships, digging for no real reason, and inspiring rebellion in the process. Transforming the inclination to dig into a push to work out long-term or lingering conflicts may help break down mental relationship barriers and help us recognize the value of what we have. 4 AM PST the Moon trines Chiron, priming us for hurt or healing–a deliberate choice must be made. 8 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Saturn and opposes Sedna. We may side with authorities, the rules, with the secure way and the safety of boundaries, but we need to consider whether we do this because its where we feel at home, or if we do this out of fear. Use blind instinct (one way of positively using Sedna) to decide.

Today’s image is a diner on a rain-slick street, with people arriving in twos and threes to sit in its buttery light and drink coffee and stay dry. We tend to think of our membership in groups as it relates to our family, our professional group, or even our generation, but we have the chance to experience camaraderie, a brief communion built from shared experience, more often than we might realize. Over the next week or two, notice when you become part of these fleeting tableaux, and welcome the sense of warmth and connectedness it can offer, even if nothing unusual happens and you don’t speak with anyone.

Today’s image is a graffiti-covered wall with a single, rainbow-colored word on it: ‘Ask’. So, ask what you want to know, of someone else, of something else, of the Universe–you’ll get an answer–then it will be up to you to have the grace to accept it.

12 March we may feel innately clumsy, with attempts to move forward causing unnecessary hurt, what we thought was smart turning out to be destructive, and worst of all may be the surprising nature of our own skills; what we were sure were practical additions to our repertoire may seem anything but at this time. Don’t worry, a great deal of this is a cacophony of odds and ends energies that just don’t seem to have a home, instead flying through the air and sticking in the most inconvenient places. We just need to let the static charge dissipate, and realize that perceptions right now are fritzed out, too—we shouldn’t try to assess anything until a little time has passed. (Perfecting today: Chiron sesquiquadrate the North Node, Pluto sesquiquadrate Pallas, Pallas contra-parallel Uranus)

Today’s image is participatory; open the nearest book, without looking place your finger on a page, and read what the Universe has to say to you today. I’ll share what mine was: “Was his wife unhappy? That was unfortunate, but it was, after all, her problem.” That’s from ‘Revolutionary Road’ by Richard Yates. To me that gives a keynote of Self-responsibility in the happiness department; everyone must see to their own happiness, and if we experience someone who cares enough about us to want us to be happy, that’s just extra, a blessing, icing on the cake of life. So what’s your message, and what do you translate it to mean?

'The Yerres, Effect of Rain' Gustave Caillebotte 1875 {{PD}}

‘The Yerres, Effect of Rain’ Gustave Caillebotte 1875 {{PD}}

The Lunar Essence for the 6th from this week’s ECLIPSE:

5 AM PST of the 6th the Taurus Moon conjuncts Sedna and opposes Saturn. The intuition gets some very high wattage at this point; you may feel you can ‘see’ through walls, and in a way, you can. Emotion, though, may be unwilling to stay within bounds and out of other peoples’ territory–a little restraint not only keeps things civil but lets you show true respect for the boundaries others need. 1 PM PST the Moon quincunxes Mars, making us unsure of actions if we’re using the emotions to gauge ‘rightness’. Rely on feedback from others or a partner in order to know if the choice is a good one (Mars in Libra). 5 PM PST the Moon squares Pallas and quincunxes North Node-Vesta. Being overly attached to using our skills or our smarts at this time will both knock us off course and cause ripples with our causes, on the home front, or with the mate. A modest approach works best for the time being. Void begins at 6:26 PM PST; the Moon enters Gemini at 6:38 PM PST. Just after 8 PM Pacific the Moon trines Venus and quincunxes Ceres. Relationships based on love go well, but those based on power do not. Jockeying for supremacy is a tiring activity; you might prefer retreating from any situation that threatens to drain you for no good reason–better to wrap yourself in the love freely offered than the interaction with strings attached. 10 PM PST the Moon sextiles Juno. We empower ourselves by thinking about the emotions of the situation–Moon in Gemini gives us both clarity and distance needed to be at least somewhat objective.

And the Daily Image, a word picture used for synchronicity and guidance, also from ECLIPSE:

Today’s image is the experience of walking in the rain; it connects us to the planet, and makes us aware that we really are a part of things, as few other events do. If you can, do it; if you can’t, close your eyes and remember what it feels like–or go out and experience the weather your part of the world is having right now–be aware that you’re standing on the skin of the Earth, spinning through space–there’s just nothing else like it.

Made it in for this quick forecast, but I’m away from WordPress again, working on the eclipse reports for subscribers, and don’t know when I’ll post again. If you’d like to get it all in your email, subscribe! Have a great end-of-week–

'Moonlit Night on the Dnieper' Arkhip Kuindzhi 1882 {{PD}}

‘Moonlit Night on the Dnieper’ Arkhip Kuindzhi 1882 {{PD}}

Today’s image is someone driving on a desolate moonlit road, who is so distraught by the song on the radio they must pull over, put their head in their hands, and weep. If we can let sorrow flow through us, experiencing it but not making a permanent place for it in our hearts, we will be compassionate but also at peace; there will be no sadness lodged within to be suddenly broken loose by a song, or a memory, or the moonlight.

'A Windy Day on the Pont des Arts' Jean Beraud c1881 {{PD}}

‘A Windy Day on the Pont des Arts’ Jean Beraud c1881 {{PD}}

Today’s image is you, out walking on a windy day; a crumpled piece of paper blows toward you and plasters itself against your leg. You reach down, pick it up, and see a single word written on it–what is that word? Even if it seems to be nonsense, a jumble of letters or a word that seems to have no relation to what’s happening in your life now, take note: the thing itself or what the word signifies/ symbolizes/ spells unscrambled will arrive in your consciousness over the next week–this will play a significant role in revealing something to you that’s already underway but of which you’re not yet aware.

'Bulls Fighting' George Stubbs 1786 {{PD-Art}}

‘Bulls Fighting’ George Stubbs 1786 {{PD-Art}}

18 February the reality picture shows us exactly how to empower ourselves; believe what’s presented, and make sure your vision is clear—otherwise you might misinterpret, or possibly ignore a vital part of the situation picture, which is a danger with the Merc T in action. The shift into Pisces/ Virgo of the Sun/ Earth signals a shift in attention to the spiritual and the Collective, while earthly matters focus on accounting, organizing, and critiquing. The contrast between the two this time of year can be brutal, but understanding that both the spiritual/ creative, and the material, need equal attention and effort applied will solve any imbalance. Too, it helps to remember that in the larger scheme of things the material and the spiritual are one and the same; only our minds perceive them as contrasting. (Saturn trine Juno, Mercury T-square with Sedna-Saturn, Sun into Pisces/ Earth into Virgo, Sun trine the North Node)

Today’s image is a bright red pickup truck pulling a trailer full of bawling cows on the open highway. We might like to think they’re on their way to a nice pasture somewhere, to moo and graze and frolic like Ferdinand the Bull, but it’s more likely that they’re headed for the butcher. The cows, of course, are unmindful of where their journey is taking them; it’s the same with some humans. Right now we need to be more conscious, more mindful of where we’re headed than ever before. Take a good look at the highway you’re on–don’t fool yourself into thinking that tomorrow won’t rise directly from today, because it will. Think consciously about what you must do to end up where you’d really like to go–and then, like Ferdinand, take some time to smell the flowers–enjoying the journey is just as important as reaching the destination.

For those wondering who this Ferdinand is, it’s a character from one of my favorite children’s books
