ECLIPSE magazine, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

We get a late start to the day (at least, sleepy West Coasters do!) with a mid-Pisces Moon-what is it we all seem to be waiting for? I think it’s mostly the Mars/ Chiron quincunx at 29 degrees–it makes an atmosphere where it feels like we may need to get up and run any second (or where something might run toward us, and hurt us!) There’s a pressure on to act, to heal, and to access the unique skills, and no matter what we’re doing, it feels like we’re sitting around on our duffs doing nothing. Saturn opp Uranus in the Cardinal 00 degree epitomizes a very similar energy, this time with a more ‘should I stay or should I go?’ (or is it ‘should I sit tight or totally disrupt the party?’) feel, but in any case the energy is one of restlessness and even compulsion, and this gets worse for late July as on the 30th Mars comes to conjunct Saturn at 00 Libra and the Moon moves to conjunct Uranus at 00 Aries, this latter beginning at 1:41 PM PDT, also on the 30th.

Juno quincunxes Neptune=imagination, creativity, and ideals can empower, if we’ll make the needed adjustment; otherwise we could take a wrong turn trying to feel we have command of things.  By the 7 PM hour PDT of the 29th the Moon will oppose Venus, bringing some vital awareness to the love or finances situation, and this is all positive in the sense that what we see is what we need to see and accept in order to make the situation better–use this event to your advantage, as by the 5 AM hour PDT of the 30th Venus is trine Sedna in Earth and love or money may be nowhere to be found; that’s the impression, as love won’t have fled so much as be so cunningly camouflaged that we can’t see it–and if it’s in the financial area that this occurs for you, the feeling of being poverty-stricken, or suddenly not having the required assets for the task, may deal a big blow to the ego and the emotions via the sense of security that will have vanished. Know that this is temporary, with the effect gone in no more than a day or two; know, though, that you’re not seeing reality so much as getting a glimpse of what could be if . . . .

By the 31st the Moon in Aries will trine the Sun in the 6-8 AM hour PDT–if you have placements 8-ish Sag this could be a fulfilling day for you, with the Sun and Moon co-operative spirit offering balanced completion or revelation in matters related to the body involved. Also on this day the Sun squares Pallas, lighting up what’s smart (and also how we may be avoiding the wise course in favor of something less so).

The aura of generalized tension that pervades the last of July appears to each of us to have particular, personal sources–and yet if it exists for all, it’s more likely we’re under a mass effect that we are as individuals choosing to accept as unique and assign to what looks like an upset in our lives. This should tell us two things: that it’s not what we think it is that’s bothering us, and that it’s not all about us! This should be freeing, if we can let go of that compulsion to attend to and fix and meddle that we are convinced will finally allow us relief, because it won’t. Take it easy, do your best, but know that nothing will change the current atmosphere–and then vow to relieve the tension harmlessly, gently, with acceptance of things as they are.

I’ll be taking a short break in August, but a nearly daily forecast is available in ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/ If you like the forecasts here on the blog, you’ll love the ones in the magazine, as they’re more detailed, with special notes on the upcoming retro Mercury, the direction of Pluto, and the once-every-18 months retrograde of Venus, what it means and how to handle it + ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ for New and Full Moons, as well as articles on Pluto, the 6th House, the Creative Complex, and much more! Only $4.95 http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/  Thank You!

Now that we’re all basking in the light of this Full Full Full Moon, it’s time to publish the NEW Fall issue of ECLIPSE! The good news is it’s bigger than ever, with an expanded, almost day-by-day forecast for August, September, and October, special sections on the upcoming Mercury retrograde, advice on the effects and best way to deal with Venus retrograde, the direction of Merc and Pluto that’s almost simultaneous, and so much more!

The bad news is, 1) I’m still the only astrologer writing it, so you may suffer a slight overdose of me, and 2) I’ve decided to raise the price, as these past ten months (the time I’ve been putting these issues together) have shown me that I want to continue to do this, but my client time, and thus my income, has suffered dramatically. Now that I’m sure I’ll continue to make the investment of time and energy, I feel like I need to change things up, and get in for the long-haul–and a hike in the price will allow me to make it, along with the blogs (especially Been There, Done That, which I’ve neglected) the focus of my daily efforts.

Check out the current issue, Summer 2010, here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/ And thank you!

3-4 July 2010: Weekend Forecast-the Magnificent Magnifier

02 Friday Jul 2010

My Weekend Astro Diary, the Magazine

I see this weekend as a really volatile time (see details here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/) and as I don’t repeat myself, I’ll only add a few observations here. Of course, the blog, magazine, and Twitter comments are meant to provide a full and continually updated picture, with the mag holding major information on the biggest effects (and here’s where I want to say Thank You to those who’ve bought the magazine–you made my dream of a viable publication of my own come true!)–at only $2.95  for 3 months of forecast information, plus articles, I think it’s worth ponying up for if you really want my opinion–and if you don’t, you likely have other favorites, which makes what I say here on the blog, for free, just a little extra sauce on the pudding 🙂

So, what I would add as the way to handle the weekend energies is that anticipation is 99 percent of the game; that we don’t have to go down the rabbit hole, that in fact we’ll be able to side step the whole difficulty (or at least make our participation peripheral, at worst)–because the aspects say to me a whole lotta calamity and missteps are possible, on a personal, group, national, and global scale, and the more disengaged we remain (and I mean that in the sense of avoiding  being assertive, blindly putting our energy out there in an unconsciously pugnacious attempt to get something going). If we instead can remain genuinely neutral (and I say ‘genuinely’ because those of us riding the passive-aggressive float in this parade will be the most susceptible, vulnerable, and disaster-prone) we can ride this out with a minimum of upset.

It may not sound terribly progressive to say, “Shhh, sit down for now, and let it all go by,” but that’s been the feeling for a while now, and this weekend will be a kind of magnificent magnifier of what are already normally challenging energies (see the last few posts for a refresher, and check the magazine for material on Uranus into Aries and its retrograde, the Chiron effect, and so on), and those who can’t both physically and psychically remove themselves from the contentious fray will be caught like ants under the magnifying glass of a particularly indifferent child (probably just an Aquarius, experimenting!) Watch the Sun, the Nodes, Uranus, as they interact with your natal chart–these are the hot points. Surrender any idea that you are superior to the influences of others or your own unconscious, let go of the belief that you are impervious to attracting conflict or disaster, and recognize that, indeed, there is a lot going on in the world that could surprise you, and that might intrude upon your life, and you will be much better able to deal with whatever the Universe dishes up. And good things can happen, too–it’s just that you rarely need my help with those!

Moment of Truth: 7-9 AM PDT on the 3rd (Moon conjunct Uranus).

Today’s Link: Check this out, and get a free one-card reading-the Feral Tarot at Oculus Divinorum-an always interesting spot http://odivinorum.wordpress.com/the-feral-tarot/

Good luck, all, and in spite of my dire outlook,  enjoy your weekend!

Lunar Eclipse 26 June 2010: Partial Eclipse, Complete Transformation

25 Friday Jun 2010

eclipse, Lunar Eclipse

A partial Lunar eclipse in Capricorn begins at 4:30 AM PDT on the 26th at 4 Capricorn 46. I cover a couple of configurations active at the eclipse here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ and this info concentrates in particular on the dynamics we can expect; here we’ll talk about the most arresting aspect of the eclipse, the Earth/ Moon/ Pluto line-up with only 41 minutes separation, along with the other aspects that fall into our 2 degree orb. This conclave in Capricorn is startling; how can we have a culmination (Full Moon) that is also either a wipe-out or an experience of total transformation?

If we think of it like this, it makes sense: bringing matters of the House axis across which this eclipse falls (and particularly in the House where the Moon/ Earth falls) to a moment of culmination, to a conclusion or point of determination where we can say, “This is what it is, this is what we have, this is how it ends,” will bring its own new material view/ view of reality, one that transforms the subject at hand into something utterly and entirely different. The conclusion of one event, progression, or situation births another–it rises like the phoenix from the ashes of what came before, and because of what came before we are prepared to see it in a whole new way.

The Sabian for this degree is: ‘Indians on the Warpath. While Some Men Row a Well-Filled Canoe, Others In It Perform a War Dance.’ This suggests that the eclipse brings about a very particular attitude, one that is so strongly felt that aggression (or at least unequivocal assertion) is the proposed course of action. This attitude is taken by people well-equipped to wage war on/ let their attitudes be known to others, and there is no hesitancy in letting everyone know that this is the intent–though you’ll notice, no ‘war’ is actually being engaged in; this is bluster, hype, threats, a cry of ‘look how serious we are!’–and that implies that the intent is really to transform the playing field, to change the way others regard us, to be taken seriously.

The other aspects that fall within our orb measurement that figure in to this are an opposition to the Moon by Mercury, and the eclipse axis plus Mercury and Pluto create a T-square with Jupiter in Aries. This gives us more hints about meaning: we really are trying to communicate something quite distinct about who we are (Mercury conjunct the Sun), and we are willing to exaggerate to get our message across (Jupiter). The point is to broadcast an image that makes ‘them’ take ‘us’ more seriously ; the point is not to engage in an actual war, only to threaten this kind of all-out effort, in which consequences cannot be anticipated and destruction of some kind is almost guaranteed. (Note that Merc and Jupiter are both slightly more than 2 degrees from aspect but as always, the chart must be assessed as a whole, with necessary leeway granted in order to make sense of the Big Picture).

The eclipse makes one other aspect, with Moon/ Earth/ Pluto sextile Pallas. This tells us something that may be rather surprising about this image of broadcast aggressive intent: it’s a smart thing to do. Our own wisdom prompts us to make this noise, to beat this particular drum in this particular way, and it’s good that we do. Part of gaining the respect of others is that we are considered skilled and worthy Beings capable of effecting our surroundings–each of us needs this kind of regard, and built in to it is a certain animal response: we do not respect those who don’t have an effect on things or on us, and this is not a matter of physicality so much as a matter of the energy of the spirit as it reaches out to the spirits of others. It is the respect of one living thing recognizing the spark in another, and it’s this impression we’re seeking to make.

Today’s Link: I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the Self-development exercises offered by Kelly Beard http://karmictools.com/EnergyoftheMonth.html Her audio offerings in particular are outstanding; you will be impressed by the depth and detail of her work and enlightened on so many of the ways unused or misdirected energies may make themselves felt.  Please explore her world, and treat her generously–you’ll be glad you did!

The Full Moon, 28 Feb 2010: Wise Conclusions

25 Thursday Feb 2010

Cristina Laird, Pallas, the Quintile, Virgo Full Moon

The Virgo Full Moon occurs on February 28th at 8:36 AM PST at 9 Virgo 58. Full Moons typically bring culmination of energy expression related to the matters of the natal House where they land for each individual, and we have a clue about the conclusions we may reach in the Moon/ Earth conjunction quintile Pallas in Scorpio. It’s the only aspect, other than an opposition to Jupiter, which is conjunct the Sun within 11 minutes of exactitude; the opposition, thanks to Jupiter, amplifies the Full Moon, exaggerating the power of the Sun which, of course, provides the reflected light that ‘powers’ the Moon’s shine (See ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ for February’s Full Moon in the Winter issue of ECLIPSE for more on Jupiter’s role http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

I would describe the quintile as ‘the spark of genius’ aspect; in the individual chart it seems to suggest something acutely perceptive and well-developed linked to the combining of the energies involved. In the mundane or event chart, it may imply we are all temporarily infused with the qualities of the energy in aspect to the Moon, in this case, the wise guidance, the knowledge and skills, of Pallas Athena. In Scorpio she uses her wisdom to sound the depths, to understand secrets and what lies below the surface, to take the old and make it new again (she is, I think, the goddess of re-cycling, when in Scorpio!) and she is representative of the exercise of commerce, business at its most practical (and in Scorp, likely the goddess of hostile takeovers and forensic accounting, the ‘slick deal,’ the business that hides something, such as the noodle shop that launders mob cash), as well as the exercise of our learned and practiced skills–not our talents, necessarily, but those skills we can adeptly and consistently employ (those things we can reliably call on, the abilities we could fill in our Universal Job Application with).

public doman image courtesy http://karenswhimsy.com

These Pallas qualities can be applied to endings and conclusions offered by the Full Moon; our investment in matters of the House where this falls for each of us will bring us our end result, whether reward, wrap-up, or termination of the matter. The Sabian symbol for this degree (found here http://www.cafeastrology.com/sabiansymbols_degreemeanings.html) is itself mysterious: ‘Two Heads Looking Out Beyond the Shadows’ What could this mean?

The duality included in the image is intriguing; we don’t often consider that every sign is in effect a duality, not just those that feature their dual nature up front (such as Gemini and Libra). ‘Two Heads’ –well, we’ve all heard that’s better than one–to me this implies the intelligence of unity, whether that’s among colleagues or the co-operative, or within the individual–so in essence, this may be a symbol of the acceptance of the duality of Oneness, with an emphasis on the way this can encompass opposing points of view or interests.

‘Looking Out Beyond the Shadows’ suggests far-sight, and the ability to see past any darkness that may surround us. Considering the quintile the Full Moon makes to Pallas, what we may be seeing in this image is a reflection of Pallas in Scorpio’s qualities, their ‘genius,’ applied to the events of the Full Moon. The image contains symbolisms appropriate to Pallas: intelligence, and  far-sight and the ability to see past human or earthly shadows (Pallas’ ability to guide wisely). What we are offered, then, is intelligence and wisdom applied to our Full Moon conclusions; this suggests that whatever occurs is ultimately the wisest outcome–there may be excavations, secrets revealed, changes and transformations, but in the end, the Universe is offering us a big dose of her wisdom, her smarts, her most divine expression, a Virgo Full Moon accounting–we need to accept and try to understand whatever comes forward as, ultimately, the best outcome for all.

26 Jan 2010: Surprise!

asteroids, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

Biggest point of conflict today might be the Gemini Moon’s square to Uranus, happening in the 6 PM hour Pacific time. This seems to say ‘Shocking News’ to me, but could be something more subtle, a shift of the psychic ground that leaves us at the least surprised, at the most scrambling to re-assemble our world. If transiting Uranus is currently aspecting anything in the natal chart, look to the natal energy for clues to the area of potential shock, and also note matters of Uranus’ natal House, House of transiting Moon, and House with Aquarius on the cusp; some or all might blend to indicate possibilities.

Otherwise it seems we see more of the same, though Juno opposed and Ceres sextile Zeus does suggest that some will be caught up in a power struggle that remains largely unseen and not addressed. The sextile makes us think we can live with this tense yet pseudo-civil condition indefinitely, but we might be better off to plan an end to it. Vesta’s trine to Pluto says this is the time to transform those things that are important to us, and certainly enjoying a truly peaceful existence would be one of them–right now we should at least think about how to approach resolving the tension in our under-the-table tug-of-war.

If you’re interested in the Tudor dynasty, natal chart interceptions, the asteroid Zeus, or forecasts for the coming three months (including notes for New and Full Moons that are only in the magazine) try ‘Eclipse’ http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

Lemonade Awards

Apparently I’ve been nominated for a ‘Lemonade Award,’ presented to sites with great attitude or gratitude–a big Thank You to lovely ladies Neith and Pat over at Real Astrologers http://realastrologers.com/ who put me on their list of 10–and that’s part of the deal, you pass along a list of 10 favorites, which is very tough for me to do–have you seen my blogroll? I love them all, for a variety of reasons! So, here’s 10 of my favorites (or at least, the first 10 who come to mind!) Many congrats to Pat and Neith on their nom, too–I’ve tried repeatedly to comment on their site, but am told I have an invalid user name (no matter how I modify it–and obviously I have a wordpress presence)–hope that’s just Merc retro talking, and not a Universal message! lemonadeaward_thumbnail

1. Jude Cowell at Jude’s Threshold http://judecowell.wordpress.com/ and Stars Over Washington http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/ and several other outstanding creative venues–she’s got an incredibly deep knowledge, a strong sense of history and politics, some of the best use of astrological degree symbolism around, and an excellent bs detector–her insights are phenomenal!

2. Love the insights of hitchhiker72–she’s “Unwriting the I”– at A Question of Mindfulness http://questionofmindfulness.wordpress.com/ She’s a thinker and observer in the best sense, commenting on the heart of the matter, whatever it may be, with just the right balance of knowledge, honesty, and personal reference.

3. Deeply thoughtful and well-realized astrological philosophy and meaning are the province of Chirotic Journal http://chirotic.wordpress.com/, definitely a favorite for its thorough, dimensional examination of natal placements and configurations.

4. aello at Dream Orpheus http://dreamorpheus.wordpress.com/ offers perceptive, sensitive, and enlightening dream interpretation–always fascinating reading!

5. Prolific, with a wide-ranging slate of topics and some of the sharpest astrological analysis around, Twilight at Learning Curve on the Ecliptic http://twilightstarsong.blogspot.com/ never disappoints, and always gives the mind something fresh to ponder.

6. The application of astrology to Self-analysis is first rate at Lucy Watch the Sky http://lucywatchthesky.com/, and she has the capacity to state things in such a way that we can take the core of the observation and apply it ourselves–and that’s a gift.

7. One of the most useful and well-done sites ever is by serennu http://www.serennu.com/ Loads of hard to find info accurately presented–and follow her on Twitter, as she offers excellent Tweets that are truly enlightening http://twitter.com/serennu

10. I’m cheating here; imaginative and fun is the astro info found at Wisestars http://wisestars.wordpress.com/ but I also want to note a new site that offers something different: advice for the day based on both Tarot and the Mayan systems at Stargates54 http://stargates54.wordpress.com/ Check both of them out!

It’s requested that each nominated site also do its own noms, include the logo shown here, and notifiy each nominee at their own site (something I’ll do in a few hours). And good luck to all, readers and nominees, as with such ‘tude this week, and bull on the rise, we’ll all need to make lemonade from life’s lemons!

Eclipse, January 2009

astrology, eclipse

solar-eclipse-january-20092The next annular Solar Eclipse occurs January 25th at 11:59:44 PM PST at 6 Aquarius 30 (note that the eclipse starts slightly after the actual New Moon). Keeping orbs very tight (approx. 1-1.5 degrees) we have three aspects: a conjunction of the Sun and Moon to Jupiter; a square to Vesta; and a trine to Pallas. The character of the Eclipse is big, exaggerated, and if it aspects natal placements, I would anticipate that the time through to the next eclipse set (in July-August ’09) will carry a similar tone on a personal level of ‘bigness,’ relative to the energies aspected. For instance, if it hits your Venus by close orb (especially if the aspect is ‘hard,’ a conjunction, semi-square, square, sesquiquadrate, or opposition–even a semi-sextile can irritate) you may see months of overblown importance of love and/ or money, or secondarily an exaggeration of the subjects of the Houses Venus rules natally.

As it is, all of us may find ourselves wrestling (yes, I think the sheer largeness and push of the energy will cause upset) with Aquarian ideals; it may be a matter of each of us feeling the ‘New Age’ is here in some respect, and going gung-ho with our personal agendas. These could center on a fresh (for us) approach to academics (as in attempting to bring Ivory tower principles to everyday existence), inventiveness and innovation applied to life circumstances, rebellion from what is (with its own particular danger of pointlessness and potential for destruction), and a strong desire to push one’s own specific brand of ‘group think’ on others. What’s the result? Likely real difficulties and clashes due to our tendency to fail to respect what’s sacred to others, what may be considered their ‘home turf,’ and I wouldn’t be terribly surprised to see a rash (so to speak!) of infidelities of one kind or another, all indicated by the Eclipse’s square to Vesta.

None of this sounds like good news, but we can take a different tack, choose a different reaction, via the Eclipse’s trine to Pallas. This offers us a source of wise information (Pallas in Gemini), a network that will support good choices, as well as venues through which to develop and exercise our skills. The implication is that, if we concentrate on what we can do, what we can offer that speaks of our most meaningful and useful traits and talents, then we can for the most part avoid the brouhaha that may follow those who carry the banner of a cause, no matter how just, as they will definitely be inclined to overlook the rights of others.

Dane Rudhyar describes this degree in An Astrological Mandala as ‘A Child is seen being born out of an egg.’ He refers of course to the ancient symbol of the Cosmic Egg, out of which the Universe was said to have been born, and out of which a new one is said to be symbolically emerging. This suggests a number of possibilities, including that the philosophies that come forward at this time are free of past prejudices, biases, and traditions, very Aquarian in that sense; and yet, as a symbol of global ‘newness,’ this degree also implies a loss of both localness (and thus relevance to the everyday life of each of us) and the care and maturity that comes with accumulated knowledge and experience. So, for the coming few months through to the next Eclipse set, we may find ourselves and/ or those around us inclined to trade what we know for what we hope is better, with a likely mixed result, and the best outcomes promised to those who serve at a practical and useful level.

Minor aspects of this Eclipse include a pair of semi-squares to Venus and Uranus, and a sesquiquadrate to Saturn, all of which reinforce the difficulty with boundaries and Self-control, the values anomalies and challenges to both relationships and finances that can be expected with the above-described mentality ascendant, and a drive toward the Aquarian that is at once refreshing and unnerving.

Try image interpretation for this Eclipse set: http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2009/01/jan-26-solar-eclipse-leads-to-lunar.html And add this enlightening take on the Solar Eclipse to follow in July: http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2009/01/solar-eclipse-29-cancer-72209.html

Will post the second half of the Eclipse material later–have a great Wednesday! By the way, Dark of the Moon begins late night the 22nd PST–no matter what you are doing for the three days preceding the New Moon, take a meditative approach, and don’t try to launch any new ventures.

The Test

15 Thursday Jan 2009

astrology, Mercury

This is the test: how will we respond when confronted with something crushing, to our hopes, to the plans and goals of someone we love, to the life circumstances presented? How will we deal with a worst-case-scenario that we always thought would somehow be avoided? And we must understand something right at the start: what’s being tested is the standard of our own attitudes and beliefs, the relationship we have internally with the Universe; it’s not a test imposed from the outside, though the externals embody challenges particular to each of us as individuals. Who are we, and where do we go, in a spiritual sense, when trials come? This is the test.

Everyone appears to be grappling with something like this now, something that shows quite clearly how closely our spiritual ideas and ideals align with (or diverge from) our practice of such in the material world. Those who believe the spiritual and the physical do not reflect each other are having the worst time right now, as they confidently reject the concept of our earthly existence as a manifestation of both spirituality and karmic challenge. And please don’t misunderstand; I’m not saying that those who appear ‘lucky,’ have money, or accomplish much are somehow ‘doing better,’ spiritually speaking, than the rest of us–for who can know with certainty the real challenges being faced by any individual other than ourselves? For those who seem blessed, the test may come in a form such as, When I have great luck, how do I treat others? When I enjoy prosperity, what do I do with it, and how do I spend my intangibles, like time and love? When I accomplish, do I appreciate the roles others have played in my success? And those who enjoy abundantly in the material world may be in the midst of a response that could lead them to a hard fall, a big loss, a tragedy, in any area–for, since all energy is in spiritual terms interchangeable, the difficulties faced may play out in any arena, and carry their own special meaning for the individual–and the rest of us may have little awareness of the reality of things for anyone else.

Astrologically, I see a handful of likely culprits that may describe hurdles we’re facing; of course, one will be more or less responsive, depending on how such aspects hook into the natal chart. For some it will be a medley, for others only one aspect will be the focus of the challenge; and how we respond is as unique and individual as each Being. As well, major transits to natal planets at this time may carry the individual key to the current challenge.

Some of the aspects considered have been in effect for a while, others are just forming, but in any case the circumstances have been shaping up in their overt manifestations for roughly two to three months, so I believe a majority probably take the Saturn opposition to Uranus as background. This is likely a contest of wills, with each side firmly convinced that their approach is the ‘right’ one. That alone should be the clue that flexibility and empathy are the keys to unlocking the stalemate, no matter the subjects or justifications. For those whose upsets came rather abruptly (even though one can look back and trace a vapor trail of potential as the two factors made their way toward each other) I would suggest that Saturn quincunx Neptune may be expressive of the challenge: fear v. delusion, the tried and true v. the unknown, the solid v. the intangible, tight boundaries v. none at all. Too, the Saturn/ Neptune quincunx may be adding to the already existing situation, providing a sense of ‘reality v. unreality’ to the proceedings. And for some, the shift of Pluto into Capricorn may hold the key, with its challenges that ask, is our world, and what we do in it, truly relevant, or must it undergo extreme and irrevocable change?

Sun conjunct Juno is another candidate, bringing classic identity and empowerment struggles to the fore. Do I do it for me, or do I do it because ‘they’ told me to, and if I do, what does that make me? Choices here are dependent on how thoroughly we know our own Soul identity and purpose for both effectiveness and meaning, while the Jupiter/ Pallas square pits our own internal wisdom against the social order; the conflict is on a larger scale, or at least against a wider backdrop, with our choice affected by how conscious we are of the social standard, and how dependent we are on society’s judgement to feel comfortable in our own skin.

Points at which we may get feedback that will let us know how well we’ve handled things (many revolve around Mercury as messenger): Jan. 19th Venus semi-square Pluto= values, finances, and relationships surrender to ‘the Truth; Jan. 20th-23rd Venus conjunct Uranus= generally may indicate our response to the events of the 19th, if we’re ‘keyed’ to Venus; those awaiting news or revelation must get through the retrograde period first, then Mercury turns around and reveals what was ‘cooking’: Feb. 20th-23rd Mercury conjunct the North Node= it’s a destiny-shaping message; will we listen? Feb. 22nd-24th Mercury conjunct Jupiter= the social order gives us feedback, or the repercussions of our struggle are bigger than we anticipated; Feb. 25th-27th Mercury conjunct Juno= we learn who holds the real power, and we find the definition of andextent of our own strength in the process; Feb. 28th-Mar. 3 Mercury conjunct Mars= if the message requires action, this is when we’ll take it; Mar. 3rd-4th Mercury conjunct Chiron= we hear how to heal; again, do we listen? We also have a ‘weak point’ March 4-6th when Mercury conjuncts Neptune and we are in danger of succumbing to illusion or fantasy, inner generated or offered from without, and we have a possible ‘payoff point’ on March 4th when Venus sextiles Pallas, highlighting the wise course in relationships, values support, and finances.
