5 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Neptune. This is the time for dreaming–or for inattention that can harm or even kill. Stay off heavy machinery, don’t drive–basically avoid everything they tell you to avoid when you take cold medicine! Artists, idealists, prevaricators–jump right in, you’ll be swimming in inspiration and full-blown ideas–take your pick. 8:30 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Mars. If we ‘own’ our own assertive energies, we are able to deploy them in skillful and imaginative ways; if we disown our assertiveness, we run the risk of attracting anger, aggression, or egotism–unpleasant to deal with, to say the least. Remember, Lunar aspects have a span of influence lasting roughly 4 hours before perfection to 4 hours after.

Today’s image is a clock face with no hands. Though it seems like a cliche, it’s really true that we feel like we have all the time in the world–until we don’t. Just be aware that for us mortal creatures, it’s passing.

5 AM PDT of the 20th the Capricorn Moon sextiles Neptune; we imagine what we could build, with a little discipline. A highly productive influence out-of-proportion to the mild aspect itself. 5 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Pluto, opposes Jupiter, and squares Uranus. Adding the Moon to this potent Cardinal T means that we’ll likely read the Plutonian reactions (rage, anger, destruction, transformation, or renaissance) as practical (Cap) measures to deal with the T tensions. That may be an accurate perception, and it may not–what will really count is whether we can muster the emotional restraint long enough to determine whether that Plutonian urge makes sense in the context of the situation we’re facing. By 6 PM PDT the Moon picks up the final arm of the Grand Cross with a square to Mars. Now we are faced with choices or action pertaining to the emotional situation just before; checking with others (Libra) may keep us out of trouble and our options in perspective. 9 PM PDT the Moon squares Zeus and sextiles Chiron-Venus. It doesn’t feel like what’s practical actually serves ambition fulfillment, but the reality is that we’re too quick to see ourselves as vulnerable to losing what’s dear if we pursue goals. With emotional reactions arising out of past hurt, we take a conservative approach, and then wonder why nothing’s happening. A better way might be to make sure that what we pursue builds on what came before; a step-by-step effort may not be speedy, but will reassure us enough to move forward at a steady pace.

8 AM PST of the 21st the Scorpio Moon sextiles Venus and squares Mercury. Romantic encounters get behind the facade, below the surface, or reveal secrets; some will revel in a certain sexiness in the air, others will try to suppress it. We’re willing to go out on a limb for something we care about. The funny thing is, if we try to make contact through words (or try to deliberately convey a message in any form) it may get garbled and, if received, may bring an angry or (worse) indifferent response–right now, go on instinct alone. 2 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Saturn and opposes Sedna. We get an emotional take on the stand-off between our reality picture and those elements of the psyche of which we’re unaware. How do we do that, exactly? We intuit or feel through the physical reality those hidden facets–and we react, without really knowing what we’re reacting to. This can usher in completely irrational responses to physical events or requirements the material world imposes, and can make us feel (or feel we’re witnessing in others) a mini-meltdown. If you do, don’t worry, it’s merely the psyche’s attempt to bring something otherwise hidden to the surface–if you don’t understand it now, just wait–you will. 5 PM PST the Moon trines Juno. We can use feeling or intuition to guide us in empowering ourselves–we may see effective steps to take in a dream, or a daydream, a movie, image, or during the creative process (Juno in Pisces). With a portion of this aspect ‘reaching into the Void’, so to speak, we may find a receptive attitude, or a deliberate stillness, most conducive to receiving inspiration. Void begins at 5:27 PM PST; the Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:12 AM Pacific time of the 22nd.

1 PM PST of the 10th the Moon sextiles Pallas. Wisdom is ours, if we’ll just make the effort. 5 PM PST the Moon squares Uranus. Are we surprised by what seems to come out of the blue, or did we have a hint about this, if we look back on the actions of those involved? (Cardinal placements) 9 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, trines Chiron, and opposes Pluto. Whatever happens, in our own minds it will be vastly exaggerated; that said, permanent hurt or healing may occur. Intention rooted in how much you care (Cancer Moon) will be everything, at this point.

5 AM PST of the 11th the Cancer Moon opposes Venus. This may bring a reassessment of feeling or of actual relationships themselves; we care but find our feelings hitting a figurative brick wall. Don’t make any decisions at this point–instead realize that you’re too sensitive right now to keep reasonable perspective. 7 AM PST the Moon squares Zeus. Ambitions kick into high gear, and we may feel that our emotional attachments are holding us back. This would be incorrect; what we’re feeling is the artificial or exaggerated nature of our wants, as we measure the truth of our emotions against anything that’s not real or reasonable in our goals. It can be unpleasant, but without losing our illusions we won’t be able to get where we want to go. 1 PM PST the Moon trines Juno and the two form a loose Grand Trine with Saturn. Empowerment takes material form; it shows either in circumstances or in who owns/ controls what, who has say over our surroundings. Take a good look around: what you get is a rare glimpse into who’s really running things, from the ground up.
