First thing, let’s talk about the Finger of God made by Venus late in Cancer sextile Saturn, both quincunx Neptune. This prompts some dreaming, and shows us the way to make it happen. Take notes and tuck them away–you’ll go through some emotional revelations for the day that will give you perspective, and by late evening PDT you’ll have a full picture on whether making this dream a reality is really something both feasible and desirable at a personal level.

Venus slips into Leo (1:50 AM PDT) and breathes a sigh of relief; she loves to coddle, nurture those she loves, and relate emotionally–but oh, to be in a sign where Venus can think about herself, that’s heaven! The Cancer Moon trails behind, and the mood may be a little lonely–I was just following love, it was here a minute ago–and the Moon looks around and finds nothing with which to commune. Finally the 7-8 AM hour PDT sees the Moon sextile Sedna, quickly followed by a quincunx to Earth, and our unsureness about how we feel makes us question our circumstances. Rather than being too concerned with the literal situation, we might want to ask ourselves if our material surroundings are really nurturing for us–the answer will be information we can use.

But let’s take a moment for Venus. At 00 she trines the Jupiter/ Uranus conjunction and a quincunx to Chiron. Today may light up our Venus opportunities, showing us how and where to expand, bring forward our originality, and perhaps to create a relationship with the group. The reward available to us with the Jupiter/ Uranus meeting may be a combination of matters of the Houses these rule in the natal chart, plus an infusion of energy to the House where Venus is now; the only adjustment we’ll need to make will be taking the time not to hurt ourselves or others, and with some luck, we may be offered a way to actually heal what hurts. Examination of the possibilities ahead of time will help us see them when they show themselves; we’ll know these are important and so put our time and attention to expanding their effect as much as possible.

By the 5 PM hour PDT the Moon makes her final aspects while in Cancer: a Finger of God with a base of Ceres and Neptune. In this instance we could get one of several combinations finding an outlet through the emotions, or that can be dealt with through the intuition: nature may co-operate with imagination to create something moving; negotiation could work it out with ideals and allow emotional expression that may have been stopped up before; the maternal may indulge in fantasy that allows some emotional succor; something along these lines will come forward, then go in an unanticipated direction, as the Moon enters the Void, at 6:40 PM PDT.

The Moon enters Leo at 8:54 PM PDT on the 14th, and immediately conjuncts Venus, trines Uranus/ Jupiter, and quincunxes Chiron. This likely allows the emotional reactions to the day’s Venusian revelations to come forward. We’ll see how we feel about what’s offered, and what needs to change; we’ll understand just how possible that ideal, dream, or fantasy we considered is, and we can take out those notes we took, and go forward.

Moon, Moon in Leo, Moon in Libra, Moon in Virgo, My Weekend Astro Diary

The Leo Moon dives into mischief late in the 1 PM hour PDT today, the 20th, with a conjunction to Vesta and opposition to Neptune, and just prior to this quincunxes to Jupiter, then Uranus, and finally forms a Grand Cross with Neptune and the Sun/ Earth axis. We may feel very sincere, willing to dedicate our energies to our ideals and making them realities, but somehow, it seems the world isn’t co-operating! Likely we’ll find that what we’re seeing as indifference is more like each individual following their own Vestal impulse–and that leaves little push for co-operation or giving adequate consideration to the wider social order. Best to do what you can on your own, take notes about what you might want to accomplish in future, then chill through a 20 minute Void ending at 4:58 PM as the Moon enters Virgo.

The Moon then opposes Chiron–oww! Details or criticisms stomp on our feelings–or our own sensitivity makes us lash out at others. A sextile to Venus follows–and we make up with ourselves and others. Trines to Ceres, Pluto, and the North Node in succession, and a trine to Mercury, create a Grand Trine with the Moon several hours either side of the midnight hour PDT. If you’re out and about at this time meaningful and transformative communications can flow, revealing emotions for better or worse, and bringing questions of power forward (though likely without struggle–here’s your chance to form a co-operative venture and get some agreement). This will be the general atmosphere through the rest of the 21st–despite any heavier aspects in play, this could turn out to be a very productive day, when others turn out to be (surprisingly!) reasonable. The Sun/ Earth axis does square Chiron today–fair play might be in the air because everyone will be afraid of being hurt, and of what they might lose.

Around 1 AM PDT on the 22nd the Virgo Moon squares Juno–all that co-operation goes by the wayside, replaced by one side trying to exercise power options and the other reacting with criticism, barbs, and/ or the hurling of insults or objects. The reaction is out of proportion, and should be met by ignoring the whole thing. Live to fight (and triumph) another day. By 5 AM the Moon trines Sedna, and we find it easy to be emotionally (and perhaps intuitively) blind. While that may save some of us from getting into a fix, it may mean that some of us find trouble by NOT being responsive. The best we can do with Sedna is feel our way through–so attentiveness and good judgment will be key.

Starting around 2 PM PDT, the opposition to Jupiter and conjunction to Saturn bring the Virgo Moon front and center of our awareness, as we suppress reaction and emotion (and maybe intuition) as some force tries to pull out of us big, exaggerated response. Why do we resist? Perhaps because what the outer instigator seems to present to us is threatening, promising that any feeling at all may be out-of-control. Much here will depend upon how this fits in to your natal scenario; if contact happens to come from Saturn to your chart, you could be looking at an internal stand-off. In any case, this aspect brings forward the emotional repercussions of the Jupiter/ Saturn opposition for you individually, and it may be a save or splurge scenario that challenges our emotional viewpoint.

The Moon opposes Uranus in their respective 29th degrees, beginning 5:30 PM-ish PDT, and we may get a shock through rebellion, ‘Higher Mind,’ innovation, or the audacity of the group in asking something of us. Roll with it–the Void begins 7:34 PM PDT, so any upset, resistance, or fight could peter out to nothing or go awry in ways we just can’t anticipate. Better to roll issues over to the Moon’s entry into Libra 7:50 PM PDT on the 22nd, though caution is necessary here, too, with the prompt quincunx to Chiron and the squares to Ceres, Pluto, and Venus–which actually create a T-square with the Moon–will Libra bring some balance to our emos, or will we continue to feel like we’re swinging out of control? The T will definitely be a challenge, possibly bringing a feeling that we’re just trying to go along and get along while it feels like others are flashing their power plays and wants, perhaps jealous in a way we never expected. It’s time to do your best, Libra-gracious smile-and-nod, and let those acting out parts in the opposition (playing Venus, or confronting her as Ceres or Pluto) do their thing. When the dust settles you can step back in, pretty things up, offer something to drink, and work diplomatic magic that all participants will be grateful for. The early trine to the Sun helps, lighting the way for those paying attention.

The Moon quincunxes Mercury late in the AM 8 o’clock hour of the 23rd, perhaps making us incautious with our words–the tendency may be to speak out with good intentions and no harm intended, only to really put our foot in it. Just a word to the wise, that not everyone partners in our thoughts as we think they do, from the overly chummy Libra Moon.

By 3:30-ish PM PDT proceeds to a conjunction with Zeus and square to the Nodal axis–will the power plays ever end? And why do our ambitions seem to threaten our life direction? Maybe it’s because we may be inclined to plow over others in our zest to see our ambitions or lusts fulfilled (thanks, Zeus!)

By 7 PM-ish PDT the Moon trines Juno and quincunxes Sedna. What is it that we’re missing about the situation as we attempt to empower ourselves? We may not ever be able to figure out the ‘whys’ here, we just need to know that it’s not quite working. And by 11 PM the Moon sextiles Mars, making for a frisky, romantic feeling, and a nice way to wrap up this rather trying weekend.

I think I’ll continue to administer the ECLIPSE orders myself; though it added some work to my day (clearly, the gods decided I’m not doing enough!) I really enjoyed it and was able to write a personal note on each order. Go here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ to get your Spring issue of ECLIPSE, with articles and a 3 month Forecast designed to co-ordinate with information available on the blog and with aspect commentary provided on Twitter. There’s a different, free offer with each journal purchase (this time: a mini-reading of Ceres in your chart, prepared by me)–it’s the closest you can come to having a personal astrologer for only $2.95 every three months!

And have a great weekend!

19 May 2010: What More Can I Say?

Moon in Leo, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

What more can I say? I’ve already covered today in-depth in ECLIPSE–but I can state that you can expect the day to have the character of the entire month of May, magnified–so whatever you’ve been experiencing, anticipate more of that, with a big ol’ dollop of stress on top! Hints: look to transiting oppositions, look to anything in 29 degrees of a sign, and don’t forget the Moon in Leo–makes everything feel like it’s all about the Self.

I can add that the transiting Moon in Leo will conjunct Mars, exact in the 2 AM hour PDT of the 20th, and we may be strongly prompted to act out on all the tension, but I’d suggest holding back, or at least being very low-key about it, as the Moon moves on to conjunct Vesta, in orb by noon of the 20th Pacific time, and with this we’ll be faced by the realization (and hopefully not the recriminations) of our most sacred values.

Also of note, the Sun/ Earth axis enters the 29th degree of Taurus/ Scorpio at 7:38 PM PDT–again, exaggeration of energy and tension is to be expected; and a few surprises, as well, with Uranus and Venus at 29 also, though by the time the Sun enters 29 Venus will have moved on to 00 Cancer–suggesting that whatever immediate money, love, values, or relationship knocks/shocks/ or celebrations we encounter in this period will have already sprung themselves on us.

Hang on–and have a good one!

For today only, I’ll be monitoring and sending ECLIPSE orders myself, so that anyone looking to get the current forecast as soon as possible can immediately, since the day is emblematic of the entire month, and a focal point for current energies. (Normally orders are processed several times a day, so there’s a slight lag, and I don’t usually process them). You can order here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Thank You!

22 April 2010: Get Smart

Finger of God, Leo, Moon, Moon in Leo, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Leo Moon makes us celebrate the Sun, if we’re in a sunny clime, and makes us long for it if we’re under cloudy skies. It glides through the heavens and we’re feeling much as our natal Sun dictates, with concerns likely focused in the House through which the Moon is moving; we’re asked to shine in this area, and spend much of the day training our efforts in that direction. By 12:30-ish PM Pacific the Moon squares Pallas–the lady is retro in Scorpio, a little shy, and loathe to advise us on the emotional dishevelment we suddenly face. The feeling is that we should know what to do, but somehow it seems the answer is not accessible. Look to the ways in which transiting Pluto is affecting your chart for clues as to the nature of (and solution to) the quandry.

Will you hear what the Universe is telling you? photo via Wikipedia

Why should such confusion come from a lil’ ol’ square to Pallas? It’s really coming from the T-square the Moon fills in at this point, as Pallas is opposed Sedna. This means that from the point of square through leaving orb of square to Sedna (around 11 PM PDT), the Moon is the lightning rod for a larger and longer term issue of not knowing: what to do, how to proceed, what we’re facing, what we know. What we experience during this aspect today is merely an echo of a larger ‘blind spot,’ so take heed of the subjects involved–and look to the Moon’s move to conjunct Vesta and quincunx Jupiter (also 11 PM PDT) to help you feel your way around what can’t be seen. This means the home life, what’s most important to you, sexual expression, and any ways you must adjust these in order to fit into the social sphere (Jupiter) will tell you something about what’s not apparent.

By 7 AM PDT of the 23rd the Moon is within square of Taurean Venus, and something material concerning relationships, income, assets, or values causes tension. Some will consider the Void beginning once the Moon passes aspect to Venus, but I think it comes after the opposition to Neptune, then quincunx to Uranus, both of which occur at about 8:30 AM PDT. These final two aspects suggest that the previous upset that is the focal point of the Venus aspect will cause 1) us to come face-to-face with an illusion, delusion, or ideal that can’t be maintained, and 2) a need to adjust our individuality to the group, or a need to adjust our Higher Mind concepts to accommodate new advances to society (personal acceptance of ‘Big Picture’ change). Void begins 9:05 AM PDT, with the Moon entering Virgo at 11:24 AM PDT.

Special note: Ceres and Earth form the base for a Finger of God with apex Juno during this period. Our relationship to Mother Nature and material surroundings is key to our empowerment. Approach the riddle this presents with both an eye to the symbolisms found in our material circumstances and an openness to a sense of irony that may lurk in this energy. ‘Nuff said!

Today’s Link: Some fun graphic Arts to brighten the day http://shrimpsaladcircus.blogspot.com/ and here an excellent reminder on mindfulness in relationship http://questionofmindfulness.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/cheap-not-cheerful/#more-2234 Energy exchange is a big topic these days; I would add to hitch’s eloquent discourse that we cannot always expect those to whom our energy goes to always be the source of our repayment (the Universe just isn’t quite so tit-for-tat), but in the case she describes, cutting off the energy vampires is more than appropriate. Kudos, hitch!

And if you haven’t already, peruse my books and contents of both issues of ‘ECLIPSE’ here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com Thanks!

21 April 2010: I Gotta Wear Shades

The Moon enters Leo at 8:41 AM PDT, quincunxes Chiron, then by 10:30 AM moves on to create a T-square with the Sun/ Earth axis. It’s all a little dazzling, not in a razz-ma-tazz, sequined way, but in an ow that’s a bright glare off the windshield way; we look around and it hurts, just a little, and we have to adjust our radiance because of it (yes, we’ll be required to modify our energy output, anything from the intensity of our Soul intent to our level of physical activity). Swing with it, as the T will challenge our goals momentarily–not a true obstacle, more a call to make sure what we’re doing is actually leading in the direction we intend (for most, there will be a reveal or two that shows misdirected energy). If we can take the hint, be flexible, and adjust, we’ll benefit.

The Sun is in our figurative eyes until noon, when the Moon sextiles Juno and we see the way to empowerment (and in questions of partnership, may see with whom we should team up). 4 PM Pacific brings a quincunx of the Moon to Ceres, followed at 5 PM by one to Pluto; this is a challenge we want to be ready for, and to pay attention to, as this can bring emotional assaults on the sense of dominion, power exercise, and/ or authority in the life.

Unfortunately for Pacific time zoners, but perhaps better for those in other parts of the world, midnight brings the Moon’s conjunction to Leonine Mars–well, now that I think of it, it may be better that this happens at a more-or-less down time–the impulse is to act on the emotions, and in Leo we have the courage (and the Self-confidence, and maybe the egomaniacal thrust) to do it; but considering the power challenge we dealt with earlier, it may be all the better if circumstances keep us unable to express as strongly as we’d like in the moment (either because it’s the middle of the night and we’re home and not at work, or some other remedy intervenes). The previous events may have left our emotions too ready to act out–and being overly reactive to the Moon/ Mars contact will only bring trouble, though being able to respond modestly but effectively could be just what we need to alleviate stress and see ourselves as effective.

Around 3:30 AM PDT of the 22nd the Moon squares retro Merc, and pretty much the same thing as with Mars applies, but this time to our communications. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been ‘getting the message’ loud and clear lately–true intentions and attitudes have been revealed, sometimes with a beauty and generosity that is truly moving, and sometimes with a malice that is unmistakable. It’s part of what I’ve expected over the past few days and the Mercury retro period in general (though I saw it more as each of us admitting to ourselves what we wanted, I’m realizing now that there’s a ‘spill over’ effect that shows what each intends for others, as well). So, with the Moon squaring Mercury, we should take care with our words, and remember that our intentions, whether we state them or not, are there for all to see.

The Moon sextiles Zeus around 5:30 AM PDT–oh I know, some of you think I’m a little daft (okay, more than a little!) using Zeus regularly–I’m the first one to admit how surprised I was when I looked into it, but he’s a powerful little bug, and in contact with the Moon says our emotions will find a way to showcase the Will and ambitions. This suggests a general ‘hatching of plans’ period–just take it easy, as impulses based on the mixing of these two need to be carefully vetted through life goals and true (Soul) intents, not to mention our ‘social acceptability’ filters.

The lovely Leo Moon quincunxes the North Node near 8:30 AM Pacific, starting West Coasters’ day with the need to modify the emotional reaction in order to stay on track–everyone else, same thing, you just don’t have to take it with your coffee.

The second issue of ‘ECLIPSE’ is almost ready! Watch for an announcement here, and a ‘buy’ button on the preview page, where you can read a brief excerpt and see what’s on the menu right now http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/
