Portrait of a Pregnant Woman (Maria Leopoldine, Archduchesse of Austria) by Lippi 1649 {{PD-Art}}

All material is excerpted from ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest; order here for the complete daily aspect and Lunar picture, and more (this week it’s an article about career and success markers, and a short bit on exhaltations). For Friday the 4th we have:

Just after noon Pacific time the Moon quincunxes Pallas; this could bring forward a round of Self-questioning, or inquiries from the partner, and either situation could shake our confidence in our own good judgment. As long as you can discern an emotional component to your thinking, there’s nothing to worry about, but if this is actually an intuition . . . then you’d better examine what you’re accepting as ‘wisdom’ long and hard.

Void begins at 1:34 PM PDT; the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:19 PM PDT, which just so happens to be the minute that the Sun reaches exactly 15 degrees of Taurus and the Earth does likewise in Scorpio.

For Saturday, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio:

The Full Moon arrives at 8:35 PM PDT of the 5th at 16 Scorpio 01: ‘Pregnant With Possibility’

This Scorpio Full Moon is without aspect to any other body under our consideration; this puts the search for meaning in two spots: the signs involved in the Sun/ Moon opposition, and in the Sabian Symbols for the degrees of Sun and Moon/ Earth.

The Sabian Symbol for Moon/ Earth is ‘A Woman, Fecundated By Her Own Spirit, Is ‘Great With Child’. This brings emphasis to the potentials of the Scorpio spiritual orientation and the idea that one can quite literally inspire a new beginning within oneself. This is a kind of immaculate conception that draws on our own Soul to fertilize the creative possibilities within the Self and conceive and gestate a new venture or creation, a new thing brought into being from the seed of spirit entering that fertile ground of Beingness.

And for Sunday the 6th:

at 5:30 AM PDT, the Moon forms the apex of a loose Finger of God, with wide base of Mercury/ Venus. This suggests that, in the midst of the emotional no-man’s-land, we could receive some cogent messages concerning relationships or finances–oy! The solution may be found in the nature of the Scorpio Moon; if we can let the info in without having to process it right away, we may have it for later conscious consideration, while receiving unconsciously reassurance about a Venusian subject. A neat trick, if we can pull it off.

Void begins at 10:31 AM PDT; Moon enters Sagittarius at 10:53 PM PDT. Midnight, the Moon squares Neptune, making for upset to our fantasies or dreams, literal or figurative. A good time to confront the illusions we carry, and clear them away–we’ll have the emotional far-sightedness (Sagittarius) to do it.

Just a Little Astro Essence for Your Weekend 9-11 March 2012: ‘Strong Currents’

Lofoten Island Logorio 1895 {{PD-Art}}

For Friday the 9th:

7:30 PM PST the Libra Moon conjuncts Zeus, wedding the emotions to the ambitions and desires–a great pairing, in Libra, for pursuit of desires–just keep in mind that there’s at least one other, autonomous party involved, who has feelings and a viewpoint–with too much identification with the Moon/ Zeus combo, we could convince ourselves that those emotions and outlook are ‘alleged’, and too forcefully exert our Will.

For Saturday the 10th:

Void begins at 7:10 PM Pacific; the Moon enters Scorpio at 9:24 PM PST. 11 PM PST the Moon trines Neptune; the emotions are overwhelmed with a perceptual state that amounts to blindness, so thoroughly is the outside world, and thus new input, blocked. Immersed in feeling (and possibly intuition), we are moved– in our ‘blindness’ scenario it’s a flood of information through other sensory means–and what we are moved to is highly indicative of our ‘true’ feeling state–so take note.

And for Sunday the 11th:

One-ish we see the Scorpio Moon oppose Jupiter, and trine Pallas with Pluto at the midpoint. In our differences with society we find our own personal transformative wisdom. Know this is tailored to you; it won’t apply to others, their ‘wisdom’ may be quite unlike yours, and so not be recognizable to you at all. The other possibility is we seek to change our social relationship (probably hoping to lose ‘outsider’ status) by utilizing practical skills that can transform our position. Either response is useful.

From the Protected Page Mercury Retrograde Article; the shift comes at 12:49 AM PDT on the 12th

It may be easy to forget this is Mercury, not Mars (especially with Mars still doing his retro thing), but the reality is we will be dealing not with our actual actions, but with what we think of our actions, the theories behind our choices, and the form of the ‘I am’ we are considering and then asserting through choice and activity. Our mental stance will be what matters, and here’s the thing: if we have significant disconnect between our thoughts and our actions, we will be in deep trouble. This retro period will make obvious, to others if not to us, where our thinking does not align with, support, or even connect to our real-life behaviors. Some are in for a rude awakening (the kind only aggressive Aries can give!) that could bring personal crises to a head (or at least give them form and a deadline in the future, likely at the Superior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury after Merc is direct).

Saw the Gauguin exhibit at Seattle Art Museum this weekend; this was not among the offerings. 'Riders on the Beach' 1902 {{PD-Art}}

8:30 AM PST the Scorpio Moon quincunxes the South Node. We may feel the urge to dig up the past, and then to talk about it. The reception we get when we try to get others to take our forced march down memory lane will vary widely, but the one constant may be that everyone will be uncomfortable with the exercise, even the willing participants.

For more from me, please subscribe, or try it out with a single issue–thanks!

Had a link to an article on Neptune and careers by Jo Tracey but it was removed at some point this morning or last night–try through her site, link at right.

The Weekend Lunar Essence 10-12 February 2012: ‘Wake Up & Smell the Coffee!’

10 Friday Feb 2012

Early 18th century, Artist Unknown {{PD-Art}}

For Friday the 10th:

Coming up on 5 PM Pacific the Libra Moon opposes Venus and quincunxes Jupiter. Someone may try to claim territory that common sense says really can’t be claimed as theirs alone; we want to co-operate, they want to bully–but they miscalculate. Quietly stand your ground–the social sphere adjusts its thinking to us (for once), and we cut (or don’t even experience) any losses.

For Saturday the 11th:

11:30 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Zeus, making us one with our ambition and desire state–and probably launching a search (even if it’s only a speculative ‘what if?’) for a partner, personal or business.

And for Sunday the 12th:

12:30 AM PST the Moon poses as apex to a Finger of God with base of Sedna/ Vesta. We lose sight of what is sacred to us, of the importance of home and our intimate relationship, and yet somehow this has a positive, freeing effect that allows the emotional perceptions or the intuition to function effectively in these very same areas. It’s like the usual filters we apply to these subjects are removed, and we get a fresh look at them all. A very good aspect.

12:30 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Saturn, bringing emotional awareness to our reality. May result in a review of how we feel about ‘what is’ right now, and could light up limitations and those things that make us safe, and show us the difference between the two. Moon enters the Void at 1:09 PM PST; the Moon enters Scorpio at 2:01 PM.

Just after 5 PM PST the Scorpio Moon quincunxes Uranus, shaking it up, but gently–could be a matter of ‘Wake up and smell the coffee!’which we’re glad for, as it keeps us from an emotional misstep in the near future.

9 PM PST the Moon opposes Jupiter and trines Chiron, bringing forward a dissonance with the social sphere that actually provides an opening for healing. As long as we are willing to take that step back from the social order, the mending will take care of itself.

Just a Little Essence for Today 18 January 2012: ‘Life Goes On’

For example, this weirdly charming (or charmingly weird) portrait of twins George and Regula from 1752 by an unknown artist would belong to the Zurich museum where it is housed, and the image would be unavailable for our enjoyment.

I am totally in favor of the spirit of the internet boycott called for today in protest of the pending legislation that would in effect hand corporations and other entities the right to profit off of the work of those who are long gone and whose work has since entered the public domain–and worse, will keep the rest of us from accessing, sharing, and enjoying this work as well. Personally, I believe that the individual rights of a creator to control the use of and profit from their own work is vital; however, I also think it’s only right that after the span of a lifetime, and a 70 year stretch following death wherein rights are protected for and controlled by heirs, that all work should enter the public domain. Period. And though I recognize that many feel that bringing their corner of the internet to a stop today is the right thing to do, I have to acknowledge that the lives of my readers continue–so here is your Lunar Essence, with love and thanks, and the hope that you too will protest the adoption of legislation that would ultimately be highly damaging to free and creative exchange.

There’s a Grand Trine in Water with Earth, Ceres, and Scorpio Moon/ Juno that kicks in sometime after 4 AM Pacific time. This config suggests that concurrent with our unconscious action and emotional expression, we will feel a sense of tranquility and balance derived from our position in life, what it brings us materially, and from our feeling that we are indeed in the ‘correct’ spot, a part of nature and the natural cycle–in essence, we are grateful–and this leads to a sense of emotional empowerment that fortifies, heals, and prepares us for our next challenges. Pay attention not just to what’s said, or behavior, but also to attitude–there will be no question about what we value, and how we see ourselves, and this will be apparent in others, too, and so can reveal what those who surround us really care about.

Right before 8 PM PST the Moon squares Venus. It’s just one of those times when we are in conflict with the idea of love–it feels as if we have ‘bigger’ points to make and things to express, that don’t leave a lot of room for harmony or forgiveness. That’s okay, speak up–the mouth may be the outlet of choice for the building tension of Mars nearing retrograde. We feel aggressive and it needs to come out somewhere. The good thing about this (and the thing that will make it personally safe for most of us) is that with Moon in Sag and Venus in Pisces we are likely to focus on ‘Big Picture’ rants, and leave loved ones unscathed :)

A Little Lunar Essence for Today 17 January 2012: ‘Emotional Dissonance, Internal Pressure’

A still life doesn't notice dissonance or pressure; but your life isn't still, is it? Chase 1888 {{PD-Art}}

By 6:30 AM PST the Moon is quincunx the South Node and sextile Mercury in Capricorn. We may communicate quite easily but whatever exchanges we are involved in stir things from our past that make us uncomfortable, or at least make us reflect on some emotional dissonance still extant and possibly embodied in some old ‘rule’ or structure (Capricorn) that we adhere to though the time for it is long gone.

8 PM PST the Scorpio Moon squares Pallas; our emotions are intense, tumultuous, and definitely at odds with what we know to be wise–so what do we do? That depends on how locked down (or out!) we’ve been feeling. Too much internal pressure (especially if it involves buried feeling or secrets–Scorpio) can drive us to ignore our better judgment–but that would not be good.

Frith 1872 {{PD-Art}}

6:30 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Saturn, trines Neptune, and quincunxes Ceres, all in the 29th degree of their respective signs. Here’s a pot of tension, coming to a boil, where partners or co-operative others are the target, and the urge is to repress, deceive or confuse, inspire, and boss around. You can see why this boils over, and why those we choose to express frustrations to may not be the real object of upset, and the same will be true of us–we are not reallythe correct target for others but oh we may be aimed at anyway! Restraint, not insisting on running our territory at the moment, and a willingness to treat the energy imaginatively, may all pay off.

Void begins at 7:29 AM PST; the Moon enters Scorpio at 8:33 AM PST. We start with . . . nothing exact yet–it’s been some time since we were without an immediate, exact to the degree aspect when the Moon changes sign–and that may be good, as we aren’t whiplashed right away with some formidable energy. Just after 10 AM PST the Moon opposes Jupiter and quincunxes Uranus, probably sending us into a uniqueness tizzy, where we insist on ‘being ourselves’ in a way that even rubs us the wrong way! And the social scene wishes we would sit down, too :(

See it all by inexpensive subscription here

My thought for the day? If all we have is hate, then that’s what we give away–and it says everything about the giver, and nothing about the recipient.

Just a Little Essence for Today 21 December 2011: ‘Vulnerability’

Predators often come in surprising forms--be aware. Fr. Tonin c1900 {{PD-Art}}

The Sun/ Earth axis has slipped into 29 degrees, straining everything. Putting our psychic feet up and taking it easy is what we should do–but will the Lunar influences allow it?

10 AM PST the Scorpio Moon conjuncts Juno–all that strain and maneuvering has made us feel empowered–so it gave us that, but be aware that this could simply be a defense mechanism–we tell ourselves we have power, so that we feel safe. Can lead to overstepping our boundaries or our abilities, with negative results.

3 PM PST the Moon trines Ceres and opposes Sedna; now we’ve got some genuine power or authority, but we may not realize it! We become vulnerable in a whole new way, as we are unable to identify predators, or our own true reach or strength. *sigh*

9:30 PM PST the Sun enters Capricorn, the Earth enters Cancer. Ow.

Just a Little Essence for Today 23 November 2011: ‘Nurtured or Abandoned’

Portrait of a Woman with her Daughter by Bruyn c1540 {{PD-Art}}

10 AM PST the Scorpio Moon conjuncts Juno, uniting the emotional state with empowerment needs–and either empowering us in a way that feels wonderfully whole and solid, or making us feel we are disempowered, fueling our efforts in a way that’s almost desperate. The difference is found in our emotional healthiness at the time; those who are feeling emotionally-based stress, who are insecure or in significant denial, will feel the panicky uncertainty of a kind of abandonment, of our own Cosmic lack of nurture–or rather, of our inability to accept the nurturing the Cosmos offers. If you suffer the negative reaction, let it be notice to you that something is being walled off that could actually be of great benefit to you–open up and let it in.
