Venus meeting Neptune brings the potential for a love relationship to be fully engulfed by illusion–but of course there are many other potentials, all of which are fleeting: this aspect stays in effect through only the 18th-21st, perfecting on the 20th–maybe we’ll admit there’s a little build-up, a potential sensing of the congregation of two of the most hopeful energies in the galaxy, that makes it perceptible on the 17th–but really, these are two ships of possibility that pass on the deep Piscean ocean–and may or may not really see each other, spotting instead an illusion, a projection, or a dream in place of a true Neptunian form (and what would that be? Something created and materialized in solid form–for the moment–of something the fluidity of which is a given within its nature–or essentially intangible but still felt, still real, like emotion or intuition. Like water, Neptune is there and yet so easily lost, seen through, or changed into something else.)

What we need to note for the 20th, though, is the way this Venus that is melding with Neptune is also contra-parallel Vesta. That suggests our interpretations of the way Venus-Neptune will show itself must include the idea that the expression of the Venusian portion will in some way be out-of-harmony with one’s highest values, or with the sacred conditions surrounding the home or the mate. So, our Venus-Neptune experience is likely to be a manifestation of a Love or Money fantasy that violates our true priorities–I think we might label this ‘Temptation’. Or, what is likely is a misunderstanding, misinterpretation, misperception, lie, or illusion that makes us think a Love or Money situation is what it is not, in violation of those things to which we are currently dedicated. This could apply to what is now, making us misunderstand what we have, or to some mirage ‘out there’, that deceives even as it promises better than what we have at the moment. In all Love or Money arenas through the 21st, proceed with care–what we see is definitely not what we get.

John Constable – ‘Study of a Cloudy Sky’ {{PD}}

The word image for the 20th is a cloudy sky that threatens rain but does not bring it. Are we letting it be known in some area of our life that we just might unleash a downpour, and yet we don’t–and what would the purpose of that threat be? Or are we in the presence of someone who threatens sadness, mayhem, emotional overflow, or an energy torrent, probably in order to get others to do what they want–and how do we feel about them and their tactics? Promising something and not delivering it is manipulative, and dishonest, in the sense that we are pretending in order to avoid stating our real needs. Don’t be a cloudy sky, and don’t allow cloudy skies to change your objectives, or your point-of-view.

Enjoy your Sunday!

There are rewards to being unique, to letting our originality, our quirks, and our viewpoint and abilities show, and we receive these rewards in ways and from venues we don’t necessarily expect–while those areas we look toward expectantly, anticipating a payoff, remain frustratingly quiet. We need to see current benefits are coming from new associations just being woven–and we’re behind the times, still looking to past areas of fulfillment, not realizing their era is gone. We are entering a new period when Self-confidence based on Self-reliance draws by far the most rewarding and fulfilling circumstances. It’s in displaying this essential life energy itself, the energy of being and doing, that we pull from the ether what we want, and what we need (Uranus contra-parallel Zeus, Venus nov Uranus, Merc parallel SN, the Sun enters Aries and is sesq Zeus and nov Pallas)

Today’s image is an old favorite song, the words of which you finally really hear for the first time. Are you surprised, shocked, or disappointed? Do you suddenly dislike a song you’ve always thought you loved, now that you know its true meaning? Or does it now seem like there are two songs, the one in your head, and the one that everyone else hears? Clarity of the information we receive is often something we assume, rather than actually know in practice; today we need to exercise care in listening not for something new, but for something we’ve heard a thousand times before, and to watch for the shift that hearing something clearly is bound to bring.

Today success depends on being both wise and totally ourselves–and the challenge may be not to use temper as a go-to when we find our uniqueness being undervalued or our priorities being dismissed. We (and everyone else) open our mouths and out comes a kind of x-ray of the unconscious. Stay awake; thinking and communications need to remain firmly grounded in our highest values. It’s the only way we’ll be able to navigate relationships and money, which will both require us to face matters ignored or denied, as well as our own anger–and we’re back to the caveat about indulging in temper. Put your energy behind and attention on the positive; for once this isn’t just a way to get through the day, it’s actually the most effective way to handle it (Uranus sxt Pallas, Mars sesq Uranus, Venus sesq Black Moon Lilith, Merc nov Vesta, qnx BML, sxt Sedna, Sun contra-parallel Chiron)

Today’s word image is a crow collecting beads and baubles and bringing them back to the nest. Small, dazzling things may stir a kind of acquisitiveness that is uncharacteristic of us (and these may be ideas, the promise of relationship or reward, or tantalizing experiences, as much as they may be actual things)–how we respond will determine whether we convert the impulse into something useful, or end up with a little bowl of sticks and grass full of shiny bits.

We hear it, think it, learn it, it hurts and then it heals–what is it? An astrological riddle, posed by some message, communication, or thought represented by Merc’s conjunction with Chiron. It is something from the past–Merc also conjoins the South Node–and it requires us to respond or adjust to matters we’ve been ignoring, denying, or that have enraged us (qnx Black Moon Lilith). Something painful is dealt with, understood, or healed permanently–and this will no longer support delusions or fantasies that were antithetical to our highest values and those things we honor (Neptune contra-parallel Vesta). Any gaps are soothed by the late Cancer Moon.

Today’s word image is a vignette: a politician scores a stunning victory, and on leaving the stage encounters a dog and gives him a good kick. We can’t blame circumstances for our behavior; sometimes we’re winning and still act like an a**hole. This needs to be our mantra today: Win, but don’t be a jerk about it.

16 March 2016 Optimistic About Change

We’re optimistic about making things better, and opportunities abound–but we have to be clear that what we alter today must respect core values and commitments. Publicity aiming to change minds goes well today; so do showy and over-the-top power grabs. Listening to inner wisdom, rather than going directly for the immediate empowerment option, will be worth it, and actions not rooted in some principle or concept we honor will trigger problems and should be avoided (Jupiter trine Pluto, Mars qnx Vesta, Merc contra-parallel Pallas and parallel Juno)

Today’s word image is a fortune cookie with a nonsense message inside. Something wrapped up sweetly and pretending to offer wisdom (maybe even this blog!) is less than meaningless, distracting you from what you really need to know. Proceed accordingly.

The mentality today is very active, taking the viewpoint of the individual, and eschewing the social stance, or rather, rejecting the one that flows from the social circle and tries to take each of us with it. The reality is we are feeling strong, ‘together’, and ready to tackle those things we’ve been ignoring or in denial about; that leaves us no patience for the social agenda, which in one form or another requires us to be critical of some unique other or group of which we are not a part. Though for the most part we will refuse social demands, we may also find ourselves ‘playing small’ or hiding our uniqueness, in an attempt to avoid drawing the criticism of others. We may find ourselves in the middle of a delicate balancing act, one that asks us to modify our approach to goal and ambition fulfillment, just so we don’t find others imposing any social roadblocks as penalties for our boldness or our Self-focus. Success today depends on three things: believing in ourselves, realizing that our perceptions are seated not in a common agreed-upon reality but in our minds, and knowing when to keep quiet (Venus semi-sq Uranus, Mercury parallel Black Moon Lilith, conjoined Ceres, opposed and contra-parallel Jupiter, contra-parallel Uranus, and qnx Zeus)

78a5810667db2911af6db12a9e6253a8Today’s word image is a Full Moon, pink from reflected city lights. Turns out this is actually a thing. In April, when this Moon occurs, we see it culminate in early Scorpio, closely quincunx Ceres, which implies a sort of housecleaning or rejuvenation that alters our personal power situation, and/ or our relationship with authorities or Nature herself–and the word image just puts us on notice: the change is already starting, right now.

George Frederic Watts 1886 {{PD}}

George Frederic Watts 1886 {{PD}}

Today is a difficult day–why? Because what we want is definitely out-of-step with what we treasure–so much so that our thinking will conflict directly with reality, so determined are we to change things, to gain power, to gain control, to reach our goals. We are so desire-focused that we will deny instinct and everything we know deep within to be true–and that allows our own ‘blind spot’ issues to flourish, making us prone to all those flaws in logic that we aren’t aware we have but that others point to immediately. To top it off, some of us see man-woman problems, or animus-anima problems, or clashes between any fundamentally varied facets of our lives, and we may conclude the only way to handle this is by instinct, because our thinking is just too aligned with our desires to prove objective or reasonable in dealing with the matter–but that’s not exactly true.

The best course is probably acquiescence to the obvious and mutually-agreed upon (and it’s that second part, the agreement with others, that keeps us out of trouble), accompanied by a willingness to acknowledge that our ambitions and goals may need to be altered in some significant way, but that we’re not prepared to see what that might be just yet–and for current issues, to stay true to our highest values, protecting the current state of home and the mate relationship ahead of other, more momentary distractions (Mars semi-sq Zeus, Mercury parallel Zeus, contra-parallel Sedna, square Saturn, sxt Pluto, Venus square Mars, sxt Vesta, sesq Zeus, Sun sxt Sedna)

Today’s word image is high wind that knocks out electric power. Symbolic ‘high winds’ could be equated with bombast, or they could represent a powerful flow of emotion that takes a more mental form for expression–so words or thoughts fueled by feeling that have the effect of ‘knocking out’ our energy or our forward momentum. This comes from an imbalance of our receptivity in relation to the outward ‘push’ of our expression; when we are too receptive we may find the blowhards and emotional whirling dervishes of our world exhausting. See to your boundaries, and no energy loss occurs.

Have a wonderful start to your week!

William Strang – ‘The Temptation’ 1899 {{PD}}

That’s really the heart of it: that our social sphere, the group, or some larger ‘authority’, ‘father’, or ‘god’ will ask us to be or do something that is the antithesis of our essence and our beliefs, and we may be tempted to comply, only to keep the peace. This entity may or may not intend to force us toward something we don’t want, but whether there is malintent or not, the effect is the same: we are being urged to negate, even betray, ourselves. It’s very clear from the aspects perfecting today, as well as the longer-term contacts still in effect, that we must respond to this by centering ourselves within our own values, ambitions, goals, strengths, and refuse to act anywhere but in those regions of life where we are empowered, powerful, and can rightfully exercise our prerogatives. Staying true to ourselves may cause a little (or a lot!) of friction, but it will certainly save our sanity and our Souls (Zeus qnx Ceres and trine Pallas, Jupiter contra-parallel Black Moon Lilith, sesq Vesta, qnx Pallas, and opp Ceres, Venus semi-sq Pluto, Merc trine Juno and contra-parallel Vesta)

Today’s word image is a chihuahua barking frantically at a large boxer from the safetyKomarek-pk016523 behind a closed sliding glass door. Is there something you are vociferously attacking, all the while knowing it can’t harm you–or is someone barking like that at you? Ask yourself if the world needs that noise, and if you’re the target, if you do–and then proceed accordingly.

Auguste Renoir – Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette 1875 {{PD}}

We may confront our own changing ideas and estimations of the worth of people, things, and activities in our lives, and find that indeed, we have complete power to change our relationship to them; let values already established, and the ideals we carry surrounding home and mate, be our guide. Awareness of a kind of complete authority we hold comes to us; so does the power to attract Love and Money, to imagine and create what we desire, and to deal with all those things we’ve been putting off handling, of late. These are heady times–make the most of the power you’re being handed, and learn to control what’s already manifest within–you’re what shapes the future (Vesta nov SN, Pluto sxt Ceres, Venus enters Pisces and parallels Ceres, Merc parallel Neptune, Sun qnx Black Moon Lilith)

Today’s word image is a snake just beginning to reveal itself as children play in the grass at a picnic. Often the image of a child is used to represent innocence, but since we are born whole individuals, with characteristics and personalities shaped by, rather than formed from, our experiences, I’m more inclined to see a child as someone whose attitudes, values, and outlook are still forming, immature only in the sense that they are inexperienced within the current environment. So, what’s sneaking up on you, that you’ve not yet given adequate attention? It isn’t necessarily negative; it could be facts or knowledge (commonly represented by a snake); it could also be something or someone moving stealthily, hoping not to draw attention until they’re ready to strike. Look around–you’ll spot it if you do.

11 March 2016 Manifesting the Past

'St. Bride' by John Duncan 1913 {{PD}}

‘St. Bride’ by John Duncan 1913 {{PD}}

Today’s a corker, full of unexplainable moments of grace, positive viewpoints and feedback about the past, and actions and choices (some of them angry, even explosive) that transform, for good or ill. We may be looking not just at results that flowed from the past, but at manifestations of our own willingness to face and deal with what’s unpleasant. Our degree of past openness to meeting challenges and the less desirable aspects of life will be directly commensurate with the kinds of issues, problems, aid, and blessings that come at us. Expect your biggest difficulties and your most ardent support to come from matters linked to causes and ideals, on the home front, and from the mate (Perfecting today: Mars semi-sq Pluto and nov Black Moon Lilith, Sun conjoined and parallel the South Node, and nov Vesta)

Today’s word image is a dove with only one wing. Something we were sure would soar has been grounded–forever. Though there is a certain sadness to something that can never be, we need to realize that dealing with the fate of this idea, issue, or relationship takes, more than anything else, acceptance of reality, and so a shift in point-of-view. We see things more realistically (from the ground, rather than the air) and so see much more clearly what is and is not possible in this case.

Thank you, and have a great Friday!
