‘The Ship’s Deck’ Édouard Manet c1860 {{PD}}

Though it comes at you obliquely, dear Virgo, in dreams, in meditations, through interaction with large institutions, through the Collective, through the egos of others, and through spiritual practice, it will come: things you’d hoped to compartmentalize, pretend aren’t happening, and ignore. These matters must be dealt with; it’s necessary so you can clear the decks of the psyche and become aware in a way you never have been before. What awaits your consciousness is something along the lines of hyper-instinct and a facility to see everything–if you deal successfully with the challenges presented, through the year to your next birthday, your reward will be an internal guidance system second to none and no personal blind spot–which can have its own pitfalls in the guise of being unable to block out the things you’d rather not see about others or your circumstances that normally help us all get through the day–but that’s a matter for another time. Happy Birthday, Virgo, and good luck!

George Bellows – The Big Dory, 1913

You may feel all adrift this year, dear Virgo–others may be particularly puzzling, unreliable, and prone to shock or surprise you, communications may seem suppressed, as if no one’s speaking their mind, and you may be more than a little preoccupied planning for attaining your goals–and yet, life may feel especially good this coming Solar year, through to your next birthday. You may find you have some extraordinary ‘luck’, numerous opportunities come your way, and you may be truly inspired in all you do and pursue. It’s an odd combination of influences that pushes you toward Self-reliance and into a kind of isolated, even meditative, state; what results is a set of experiences you couldn’t have gotten any other way, and some once-in-a-lifetime spiritual and social development that leaves you in a far different place by this time next year. Happy Birthday, Virgo, and good luck!

‘The Shepherd’s Star’ Jules Breton 1887 {{PD}}

You’re heading into a fate-determining year, dear Virgo, when you may set your course by a particular star and stay on that path for a long time to come. Positives this Solar year, through to your next birthday, include a stable, supportive home life (or maybe just a reassuring one, where home matters don’t disrupt other action), and plenty of wisdom available, from both your ‘inner voice’ and those with whom you cooperate or partner. You’re empowered to do what you want–your biggest obstacle may be yourself. Negatives include a too-quick temper, a propensity to jump into action before things are thoroughly planned, and a tendency to accept aid and support in pursuit of your ambitions but then hurt others by ‘forgetting’ what they’ve done for you. The negatives can all be avoided if you take things one step at a time and don’t lose sight of how much help you’ll actually attract during this period–it could be a lot, and you may gain new friends, partners, or even a mate in the process. Happy Birthday, Virgo, and good luck!

Reconciling the past with the current reality is a lot like getting married. Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret – ‘Blessing of the Young Couple Before Marriage’ 1880 {{PD}}

Reconciling your current reality with your past and what’s already built may be the focus of your upcoming year, dear Virgo, through to your next birthday; what you conclude will be the stuff from which you construct your future–so ideas, facts, and having the complete picture will be very important. Don’t worry, though, as the mind will be sharp and attuned to what’s smart–wisdom prevails in thinking and reasoning for you, and you’re likely to be inspired by those with whom you’re in close relationships. Don’t be afraid of cooperation or collaboration–these may be the key to so much more, including your success. Happy Birthday Virgo, and good luck!

Charles Napier Hemy – ‘Running For Home’ {{PD}}

Your empowerment, your ability to move through the world and do what you want, as well as your ability to honor those things you find sacred in life, will all be on the table this coming Solar year, through to your next birthday. The Self-focus and fine-tuned sense of assessment and discernment you’ll need to navigate these matters is available to you–so is the chance to create the ideal home situation or find the mate of your dreams–but you have to be willing to negotiate, to meet personally powerful others face-to-face and stand up, even demand, what you need and want. Trust your judgment, trust your sources of wisdom. You may find yourself sailing some intimidating waters, dear Virgo, but how else can you find such great reward?

Featured birthday aspect: Ceres sextile Pluto=you can change the power and authority situations in your world–will you?

Virgo, this year you ARE a rebel angel! Pieter Bruegel the Elder – ‘The Fall of the Rebel Angels’ 1562 {{PD}}

Dear Virgo, this coming Solar year, through to your next birthday, you may face repeated situations that test your highest values and your commitments, especially to home and mate; what you should know is that this won’t be about how worthy your goals, situation, or values are (they’re all just fine), it will be about gauging just precisely how rebellious, inventive, original, and Self-centered you can safely be and still maintain the quality of your life. If you don’t engage in these tests (and you won’t have to go looking, they’ll come to you) you’ll find erratic and unpredictable behavior, with a good dose of temper, may become your norm. So test yourself, re-align after each challenge with what you care about the most, and know that a creative and inspired approach to life, one that’s willing to face every challenge, will pay handsomely. Happy Birthday, Virgo, and good luck!

Ambition and desire will be front and center for you, dear Virgo, this coming Solar year, through to your next birthday, but so will a test of your values and commitments; you’ll choose to meet these challenges either by summoning your most unique personal skills or by retreating to ancient wounds for protection–who would attack a wounded person? you might be thinking–and you might be safe there, but it also means those who can facilitate your desires and support realization of your ambitions will bestow their gifts and aid elsewhere. If you’re hoping to garner cooperation and support in your quest to achieve, you’ll need to face things dead-on–and do your very best. At present you’re endowed with an unusually good sense of your own priorities, talents, and an awareness of what it takes to become empowered in the material world while still honoring your values–utilize this and you’ll do very very well. Happy Birthday, Virgo, and good luck!

Be fearless; stand up in the boat if you want to. ‘A Party Angling’ George Morland 1789 {{PD}}

Dear Virgo, if you are feeling the need to express yourself in a way that fulfills ambitions, gathers in all that you desire, honors what you care for, creates a solid and nurturing home for you, and makes you stand out in the group, you will over the coming year, through to your next birthday, not just get the chance to do it, you’ll practically be guaranteed to fall into the flow of energy that will facilitate your individual expression in unprecedented ways. The world is ready for you, but are you ready for it? You’ve recently dealt with some powerful forces for change that may have left you a little hesitant. Your success this year will depend on how willing you are to respond to the river of life without imposing your own personal set of restrictions, rules, and conditions. Acceptance will be a big part of creating the right circumstances to go forward, show who you are, and build what you want; fearlessness and trust will be the others.
