The 15th

Just before 11 PM Pacific the Pisces Moon forms a T-square with the Nodal axis, forcing an emotional reckoning, and putting us once again in a state that asks us to measure our progress, and this time, also our direction in life. This once more feels to me like needless stress; though we’re all accomplishment-oriented there are times when our interests are better served by taking a relaxed, playful, or creative approach to life and events. Considering the Moon is in escapist Pisces, a little oblivion might be just the ticket, and may, in fact, be our best approach earlier in the day with the quincunx as well. Taking it easy may be the only positive answer.

The 16th

Just before 3 AM Pacific the Pisces Moon quincunxes the perfection of the Sun/ Venus meeting. Considering the signs involved (Leo, Pisces) it may be that we are being asked to adjust the identity or ego response in a creative fashion that will actually expand the reward (whether it’s material or relationship aligned) we are capable of receiving. And you’ll notice I said, “capable of receiving”–this may help us widen our view of ourselves, help us to accept more facets of who we are, and that this will make us more capable than we are at present to embrace love and ‘what’s treasured’ from many more sources. Now, we must essentially do all this ‘blind’ (Moon sextile Sedna)–it becomes a test of faith through the capacity to love and be loved. Period.

It’s A Full Moon Weekend! Here’s the Essence for 13-15 August 2011

What happens over the next three days (12th-15th or so, with perfection of the Sun/ Venus conjunction on the 16th), apart from (or perhaps as a significant aspect of) the Full Moon is a Fist of God with base of Uranus square Pluto and apex of the Sun/ Venus conjunction. This is in effect as the Full Moon opposes the Sun and Venus, trines the South Node and is just shy (but I think I’ll count it) of a square to Sedna. The Fist says that we enter a brief period wherein those long-term and still-occurring changes spurred by the Uranus/ Pluto square will yield their effects on the relationship and/ or financial picture, or on matters of the Houses ruled by Venus and the Sun. We will see the results of the stresses from the square very clearly, over a span of roughly three or four days. We may see any number of manifestations in any number of areas, but all will contain a theme of unexpected change or transformation that is in response to both our relationship as an individual to the group and to the changes to ourselves and to those things we thought were permanent, that have since proven not so–the most important point will be that we recognize what we encounter as an indicator of 1) the way our lives will be different from this point forward, and 2) that we acknowledge the reality of what’s happening, and that, no matter what, there’s no going back. These effects are highly dependent on the way Uranus/ Pluto has so far shown up in the personal chart, but we can be sure of one thing: it will channel any conflict into Venus and/ or Sun related areas, so that these areas will be the recipients of the stress, rather than the origins of it. That’s important to note when it might be easy to believe our relationships, our finances, or other Sun/Venus areas of the chart to be the source of all the upset, rather than the ‘victims’ of it.

The Full Moon for August occurs at 11:57 AM Pacific time of the 13th at 20 Aquarius 41. The sparseness of the aspects made by the Full Moon (trine SN, opp Venus, square Sedna) suggest a rather simple picture that is complicated by its subtlety: the culmination of Lunar energy is in direct opposition to the Love principle, to pleasure, reward, and both possession and enjoyment of assets. Like the Fist, it implies that the endings or completions that come about will be contrary to our Venusian sensibilities, and that, we will both draw on or relive the past in some way, and be unable to pinpoint that this is going on (trine to South Node, square to Sedna). This could mean that we suffer without knowing just what is ending or at risk–and yet we have a way to successfully observe the action via the concurrent Fist and its apex energies of Sun and Venus. So, we will experience upset, endings, and change, much of which will affect the relationship, values, assets, and finances picture (and some of which may appear to be caused by the Venusian areas of life) but they will really be results of Uranus/ Pluto, of a channeling of the past and past behaviors and responses, and for all intents and purposes causes will be not just unclear, they will be impossible at this time to pinpoint.

Void begins 5:27 AM PDT of the 14th; the Moon enters Pisces at 5:54 AM PDT. The Moon conjuncts Chiron, 11:30 AM-ish Pacific, and suddenly we are very aware of our wounds, our unique skills, or both. Can be a moment of healing and revelation, if we are not too married to feeling hurt.

A Mystic Rectangle involving the Nodes and the Sun/ Earth axis, + Venus, is in effect, and chiefly serves to point out this is a fate-determining time, one where we will be guided by values (Sun + Venus), which is a good thing. Those for whom this connects solidly into the natal chart (through placements at approximately 21 degrees) will find this acts like an amplifying antenna, making the contacted energy overwhelmingly prominent, and instrumental in the fate-shaping choices made now.

The Essence for 12 August 2011: The Amplifier

Apparently the company of an angel is all the amplifier one needs 'Saint Cecilia with an Angel' c.1620 {{PD-Art}}

Here’s an interesting config: Mars semi-square Sun, which is sesquiquadrate Pluto, which is semi-square Earth, which sesquiquadrates Mars. This suggests an enormous amount of tension, anger, even rage, connected with life direction and material circumstances. When this kind of tension aspect manifests with the transiting Sun/ Earth axis, we see large numbers of individuals expressing frustrations en masse that have much different actual connection to their real life (read here, ‘their natal chart’). It’s as if the particularized situation is swept up in the common energy, amplifying it and, in the participants’ minds, giving it the same level of tension, and so bringing them to the same level of anger expression. It’s akin to the infamous ‘mob mentality,’ and something we should be both aware of and wary of at this time.

1:30 PM PDT the Aquarius Moon squares Jupiter, perhaps pitting our emotional state against the social scene. The reaction could come because we are less than genuine when confronted by the social order; the Aquarian Moon may play it cool, or may actually be disconnected from feelings, and that’s what the social group is reacting to. We feel attacked or upset, but may be the ‘generator’ for the reaction in the first place–it’s the circle of life, but not like we expect! A 3:30 PM conjunction of the Moon to Vesta puts us back on track, re-aligning the emotions with our most sacred values; we listen to ourselves, not the social circle or standards not our own.

The Essence for 11 August 2011: Truce

Flegel 1635 'Still Life With Stag Beetle' {{PD-Art}}

By 7:30 AM PDT the Capricorn Moon trines Sedna. This happens in Earth, and we may lose our emotional connection to what surrounds us. Whether we’re aware of it or not, we typically ‘relate’ to our environment–not consciously, but through a sort of truce or vibe to the things that make up our world. A truce if the item is something that might endanger or threaten us, while  we vibe to (or at least make peace with) all the things in our surroundings–we ‘like’ them, perhaps identify with them, use them, and sometimes feel indifferent to them, and most of this is not done at a conscious level. At this point we may lose that connection, which typically orients us in a very mundane way–so be ready to lose your bearings, just for a bit.

The Essence for 10 August 2011: Heartening News

Tags

de Morgan 1886 {{PD-Art}}

Around 3 AM Pacific Ceres retros back into the 29th degree of Pisces, putting her into a state of stress, and bringing her focus from Self-assertion (Aries) to concern with the Collective (Pisces). Authority and power makes a (probably refreshing) return of attention to what’s in everyone’s best interests; look for some heartening news in this regard, though there’s also the problem of authorities acting out of real stress–and making poor choices as a result.

7 PM-ish PDT the Moon quincunxes Venus; we find ourselves challenged to accommodate the ego needs of our relationships (Venus in Leo), or we see the costs of holding back our emotions (Moon in Capricorn). Either way, it’s a balancing act. Just after 10 PM Pacific the Moon quincunxes the Sun, and we see clearly the emotional adjustments needed in just about every area–but we may find ourselves loathe to make the needed changes (the immobility of the Cap Moon).

The Essence for 9 August 2011: Puttin’ On the Fancy

By Sokolov c.1830s {{PD-Art}}

Around noon the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Neptune and trines Mercury, and both are retro and at 29 tense degrees. The fibs may fly, not ’cause anyone is bent on deceiving, but just because it’s so easy–the spinning of stories happens almost before we realize it. If we’re in a negotiation or receiving info from someone (not the best thing to do now anyway, with Merc retro) we may be in danger of both believing what we’re told wholeheartedly or guilty of embellishing things ourselves–the fancy may be put on after it reaches our ears–and in either case we’re susceptible to making wrong decisions because of it.

At this same time the Moon fills in a Fist of God with the Moon’s sextile to Ceres and both sesquiquadrate Venus. This is where we should focus, not on communications, but on the emotional perceptions of the authority and power situations in the life. When the feelings and the ‘power/ authority attitude’ are aligned, we receive a payoff, perhaps literally with a material reward, or with love, but in either case it feeds the ego.

There’s such a teeny Void, I’m not even paying attention to it; Moon enters Capricorn at 1:38 PM Pacific time.

The Essence for 8 August 2011: Listen to Mom

Tags

A maternal force, an authority, or Mother Nature herself may guide you. from Chateau de Chantilly, France 19th century {{PD-Art}}

Merc retreats to 29 degrees of Leo today; this may very actively feel like a personal retreat that places a lot of undefinded, nebulous stress on the individual, as Merc follows retro Neptune on his retreat back into the previous sign. At this point the best guidance may come from an authority or maternal figure, or through meditative interaction with Mother Nature herself (Mercury quincunx to Ceres, which is fresh at 00 Aries, though retro herself may facilitate this exchange).

5:30 AM PDT the Moon sextiles Saturn/ h.Zeus and gives us a ‘to-do’ list for the week. Just after 7 AM PDT the Moon trines Venus, giving us the love or assets needed to accomplish. At this point, there’s just no excuse not to do your best. 10:30 AM PDT the Moon trines the Sun, reinforcing accomplishing goals successfully. This is an almost magical recipe for getting what you want; winners will be those who have their ducks in a row and are ready to get moving–everybody else may just have a really nice day :)

The Weekend Essence 5,6 & 7 August 2011: Weighing the Options

Tags

, , , ,

Judging by the bounty on the table, she probably weighed her options very carefully. Cranach 1532 {{PD-Art}}

We start the evening of the 5th when at 8 PM PDT the Moon opposes Jupiter; will it be a face-off with society (which may take place in no bigger an arena than your living room?) or a desire to withdraw from worldly pursuits that’s really just symptomatic of resentment that we’ve not yet received our due reward (Jupiter in Taurus)? Consider that we may be spoiling for a fight  just to make some contact–not a productive approach.

1 AM PDT of the 6th the Moon squares Vesta; this essentially draws a T from the moment of contact with Venus ( a square at 10 PM PDT of the 5th), and tells us that we are in danger of trashing what we care most about–don’t! Then the Moon (3 AM) squares the Sun; from the moment of Venus contact creates an energy-filled T square, with Venus/ Sun in one direction, Vesta/ Earth in the other, with the Moon the arm. This gives us a large window where the material situation involving those things we feel are sacrosanct come up against the true cost revealed–and our emotions are torn; do we keep those things we feel are important in our lives and ignore the cost, or do we lighten the load, letting go even though these material factors are important to us, and thereby possibly gain in finances or even love? There’s no right answer, just the answer that’s right for you.

Noonish on the 7th the Sagittarius Moon quincunxes Mars in the Moon’s own sign of Cancer and sets off a Finger of God with an approaching sextile (that completes the base) to Pallas at 3 Aquarius 42. We are required to link the emotional outlook to expression of practical/ artisanal skills or to what’s wise–when we do we are empowered to act. If we act without due attention to what wisdom requires the feelings to register and modify for, we will see a lot of passive-aggressive (or aggressive-passive, as a friend likes to say!) fallout. If chaos or upset ensues in this aspect window, this is the problem: we’ll be seeing the result of a lack of respect for what’s wise/ smart, with the difficulty caused by those who would indulge themselves. Take note.

The Essence for 5 August 2011: Water Seeks Its Own Level

Tags

Waterhouse 1892 {{PD-Art}}

The Moon enters Scorpio at 4:57 AM PDT, and immediately quincunxes Ceres and sextiles Mercury. As if things weren’t murky (or is it Merc-y?) enough with the retro and the Moon in Scorpio, we are treated here to a confusing episode of messages that may mislead us on the power front, particularly over who has it and what may be felt because of it. Don’t expect to understand what’s going on; what you see is definitely not what you get, and even our emotional perceptions will not be capable of delivering the whole picture, so make no assumptions and come to no conclusions.

A 7 AM PDT trine to Mars in Water makes for some aggressive feeling–and that means shouting, crying, wailing, and blubbering, if we’re not careful! The phrase ‘Water seeks its own level’ may come to mind here, and may be what you see happening around you. And if you are calm, observe your surroundings, as they will tell you something about an inner situation that’s just not yet made it to the surface.

The Essence for 4 August 2011: The Tiniest Void in the World

Tags

There may be some time when we're at a loss for what to do. Toulouse-Lautrec 1897 {{PD-Art}}

By 5 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Sedna, and we lose our previous clarity (if that isn’t totally ironic during a Merc retro); best to just relax into it, and refuse to demand answers from the emotions. There’s a long gap where we may feel a mite lost; final aspect of the Moon in Libra is a 3 AM PDT of the 5th trine to Neptune, which may reassure us that we haven’t lost ‘it’ at all! Void is so minute in this instance, we’re going to pretend it doesn’t exist–it’s fractions of minute at most, and so too tiny to worry about.

Venus also squares Jupiter today, possibly bringing optimism to a bursting point, and perhaps pitting our values against what the social order demands. Those with whom we’re in relationships may balk if we claim our freedom or may give us a hard time about expanding our world; conflict may occur over assets (Taurus) and identity (Leo). This will feel like it has all the earmarks for success and yet something spoils our ‘big deal’–just don’t let it be our own unloving attitude.
