14 July 2010: Setting Ourselves on a Truer Course

Post 2 AM-ish PDT and the Moon in Leo opposes Neptune before entering the Void briefly, at 3:24 AM PDT. The opposition brings a quick influx of stimulation, where we see how and, if we’re tuned in, why our emotional state fails to serve our dreams and ideals, and vice versa, in what way dreams and ideals may undermine our emotional needs. This presents a glimpse of the kind of Self-undermining we all can engage in without even realizing it. An opportunity for a rare kind of enlightenment, with the Void offering a short time for reflection, through to 6:14 AM.

The Moon storms into Virgo–and by that I mean the emotional and perceptual abilities are immediately primed to get down to work, to face the details, to be accountable and to keep accounts, and to get results, and the Moon opposed Chiron and quincunx Uranus is only a distraction–those who’ve got some unnecessary rebellion going on, or who are too attached to hurt, may lose the opportunity, at least for a little while, that the Virgo Moon offers. If you do get distracted, you’ll know that the issues before you can likely be handled with a particular kind of maturity that must be brought to bear–and that you’re the one who needs to do it.

11 AM and optimism peaks (Moon quincunx Jupiter); the conjunction to Venus (12-3 PM PDT) aligns our emotional perceptions and intuition with the best avenues for both relationship and reward–follow what you perceive at this point, it should pay off. At the same time the Moon trines Pluto, and we can clear out what needs to go, in both the relationship and values departments–and that means we may find out a few Plutonian truths about who we are and who we’re involved with and what we’re pursuing that can be invaluable in setting our lives on a truer course.

Just after midnight on the 15th the Moon trines the North Node, and we see the rightness of our course correction. Overall, a highly productive day for those who will go with prevailing influences.

13 July 2010: Think It, and It Is

Tags

Have you been sorting through things, lately, re-visiting things, trying new things, re-connecting and re-tooling? You’d almost think it was Merc retro, at least the way it’s usually described–but it must be something else–and I think that something is Uranus to the Aries point, then abruptly retro. Uranus barely made it into Aries and then withdrew his attention and energy–but I think it’s having a crazy side effect, as if the whole Universe is being gently shaken through a sifter, and anything not useful is finding another home. Maybe it’s the electric part of the Uranian vibe, the way it sings through us at such a high frequency we don’t even realize it’s happening, we just see our lives change around us, the energy to alter what’s before us shooting from our fingertips like cartoon lightning–and yet we don’t see our own power, not really–and that’s what we need to focus on right now, that we have a tremendous amount of power available to us–apply it to the Universe, to what you really want, and be ready for the consequences, which will come in all forms! Mars trines Earth and gives us the energy to get it done, almost before we can think it.

Venus quincunx Jupiter and trine Pluto may be playing into all this, asking us to consider values, to assess reward and need, to think about how much is too much–if we muster the Uranian charge behind this, it can become almost this simple: think it, and it is. An approach that may feel like magic, but is really no more than jumping into the Cosmic current. The veil is thin right now, little separates us from the unseen, and we can make of it what we will. Like good Marxists, we’ll enjoy an ‘each according to his needs, each according to his abilities’ kind of result, which should be very satisfying for those of us who can get out of our own ways.

And have a great day!

12 July 2010: Resolving Skills and Feelings

Tags

, , ,

The Moon forms a Finger of God, 2:30 AM PDT on the 12th, with a sextile to Saturn at 29 degrees and apex Neptune. This suggest something of a crisis with reality, ‘what is,’ and perhaps with rules and boundaries, but this is the moment when it is all easily resolved, by really feeling the Moon in Cancer, by placing no restirictions on what is allowed to be experienced, by not censoring the emotional palette–and then by letting it all go for a while, as the Moon enters the Void briefly, at 4:49 AM PDT.

The Moon enters Leo at 5:53 AM PDT, and immediately trines Uranus and quincunxes Chiron, bringing unique, individual skills to the fore–you may find you have the energy and courage to pursue ambitions, to go after what you really want–you may feel more clear on your goals than you have for some time. By 8 AM, though, the Moon has formed another Fingor of God, this time acting as the apex to the Chiron/ Pluto sextile. I see the Moon in this instance almost drawing from the earlier contact to Chiron and bringing that energy to contact with Pluto–and that this presents an awareness of a hurt that we are able to transform by allowing ourselves to feel and see the matter from the viewpoint of our own needs and wants (Moon in Leo). Putting ourselves central to the issue puts things in the correct perspective.

By 10:30 AM PDT the Moon moves on to trine Jupiter and perfect the quincunx with Pluto. We are in tune with the social flow, but may find that we understand social issues too well–they irritate, they spur us to change or transform–the productive among us will change something about ourselves or our attitudes, while those less conscious will think in terms of ‘society should ‘x!” An illuminating interlude, that can clue us into the possibility that we’re carrying a too-insular or too-righteous viewpoint.

Mid-afternoon PDT the Moon squares Pallas and then conjuncts Mercury, and we may find we’re speaking our minds against our better judgment! It’s a time where the wise thing just doesn’t seem as important as being heard–just take care that in speaking up you don’t speak for others–make all your statements start with “I”

By 11:30 PM PDT the Leo Moon quincunxes the Capricorn North Node and sextiles Zeus, and we may be really connecting with the way we feel about our ambitions and wants, and how well we’re moving in that direction–a good time to resolve skills and feelings, and how well we’re handling each.

11 July 2010: The Solar Eclipse, Your Invitation to the Party

Tags

, , ,

This Solar eclipse has an incredible assertive energy going on; it also sits at the midpoint of a trine that spells trouble; and a couple of aspects are slightly outside my strict-but-constantly-stretching boundaries ( and this may be where you start to wonder if I shouldn’t ditch the 2 degree rule altogether; in keeping the rule I’m very careful about what I consider to be an eclipse aspect, and avoid ‘kitchen sink’ syndrome).  As always, the variations are slight, and needed to see the complete eclipse picture.

The eclipse begins at 12:40 PM PDT on July 11th, as Sun and Moon conjunct at 19 Cancer 23. The assertive energies are found in the Sun/ Moon still valid conjunction to Juno–think of a power figure who gets what they want by offering nurture, or by calling on the ties they’ve already created, and this may  involve a sense of obligation, duty, or ‘I owe’–it’s the bargain this Sun/ Moon combo creates, and the sextile to Vesta/ Mars in Virgo says that there will be an accounting going on, likely of energy expended, and the one doing the counting will be prone to consider this expenditure sacred–and expect payback.

Our Sabian for the eclipse degree is ‘A Venetian Gondolier Giving a Serenade’ The gondolier is, of course, singing because it’s part of the sh0wmanship of his job; at bottom, he does a thing of beauty because he wants to get paid. That’s not to discount that he may love his role, that singing may be a joyous expression for him, and that his singing may be spontaneous, performed for any Soul within earshot. What it reminds us, though, is that life is about the flow and exchange of energy in all its forms, and that the roles we play (no matter how innate to our character or genuine to our Being) are played as part of a Universal agreement of exchange for mutual benefit–it’s a reminder that we must give what’s most true to our talents, and that we have an obligation to discover what those are. By implication there is also the idea that the farther we are from our best expression, the farther from that Universal ‘flow’ we are (and remember, flow goes both directions, not just toward you!)

Does this suggest that the hovering maternal (for this is the essence of caring) to whom we’re obligated is really the Universe? A wide quincunx of the eclipse to Ceres certainly supports this, and a sextile to Sedna further implies we just can’t see this–and by ‘this’ I mean both how closely we are woven into the fabric of the Cosmos, and how what we see as obligations may really be opportunities to bring, somehow, more of ourselves forward. It’s an invitation to the Universal party, the one we signed up for when we commited to being here. It may, in the end, be a call to be more genuine, to refuse to hide parts of ourselves (and we hide our talents as much as we hide what we may be ashamed of, because our abilities don’t agree with our tattered and Self-imposed, socially driven image of how we think we should be–and that amounts to rejecting ourselves, and so rejecting the flow that’s offered–and my answer to that is, who do we think we are, to judge ourselves so?)

This is a very positive eclipse pattern–so now you may be wondering about that trine I mentioned that spells trouble–and that is, the eclipse sits at the midpoint of the Sedna trine to Mars/ Vesta. This means both will be equally and strongly stimulated, and that implies we may not see (Sedna) how we may be prone to treat both our actions and our ego as sacred (Mars/ Vesta). It’s easy (the trine) to not see our own motives and aims–and the eclipse, which prompts us to action most genuine to ourselves, calls for that action to be in line with our talents and roles. A balancing act, to be sure–but one that must go forward, as the Cardinal placement of the eclipse insists we must act–and this influence will continue for six months, through to the next eclipse set.

More on the eclipse can be found here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Thanks!

8 July 2010: Taking the Purge

Tags

, , ,

Moon enters Gemini on the 8th at 12:50 AM PDT. The square to Chiron is immediate, pointing up both rough spots and skills, and revving up our engines, in a way–this aspect may key us to pay attention to mustering skills and putting them to use, or to ruminating on our wounds or upsets–and you know which one is the better use of time, with one exception: if you need to fully absorb a hurt in order to understand it and let it go. In that case, go fully into sadness, hurt, and all that you need to explore–it will act as a purge that will leave you ready for the next thing.

There’s a Finger of God formed 6-10 AM PDT on the 8th with apex Moon and base of Pluto and Pallas. This suggests the wisdom of destruction, change, or perhaps the smart choice in processing and letting go that some who tuned into the wounded energy of the previous Chiron aspect will go through, and that when applied this will allow a flow of emotional expression and realization of feeling. This is a good energy to take advantage of, an emotional purge that can’t really go wrong.

Mercury quincunx Neptune=words may carry meanings we don’t intend; fantasies, the subconscious, dreams, and ideals intrude–just be aware.

Sun conjunct Juno=empowering methods are spotlighted–it’s easy to see what behaviors will give us the the clout to do as we please. Pay attention, even if you don’t move to make this happen right away–what you become aware of will be useful when you do want to act.

Noonish on the 8th PDT we enter the Dark of the Moon, pre-Solar eclipse. We may see a number of reactions possible: mindless chattering to let energy out; a stuttering skip to our thoughts, moving them at random from point to point; silences that come from being overwhelmed with too much perception and no way to express it; a pleasant lightness that can almost act as a meditation. Allow yourself to lean into the prevalent energy, and try to relax, to gather yourself by letting go of a need to organize or express too specifically. This lasts through the New Moon, and can bring us to the Sun/ Moon conjunction clean, purged of what we truly don’t need.

Next up: the Solar Eclipse! And do stay cool!

7 July 2010: Reading Between the Lines

Tags

, , ,

ahh, did you feel it? Uranus tucked tail and did an about face in the 9 PM hour PDT on the 6th–and I suspect for most of us it was a subtle but distinct shift. I really liked the way the energy shifted for me this hour, and I hope that retreat at the Aries Point was as positive for you, too. I honestly anticipated a much greater sense of disappointment, and perhaps that’s what happened to others–or maybe the point for me was you just can’t really anticipate Uranian results–isn’t that just the way it is? I think I felt it had brought so much energy, so much to celebrate, while in direct motion that its retrograde would surely bring a feeling of loss. I don’t mean to be mysterious, but what was lost for me was some debilitating worry and tension that had been with me for weeks–what a surprise–thanks, Uri!

There’s a Fist of God, apex Neptune with sesquiquadrates to Zeus and the South Node, that may be suggesting that illusion is at work–oh I hope not–saying that maybe what’s being presented isn’t what it seems to be, that our deeply Willful desires (Zeus) and experiences of the past (South Node) conflict–and perhaps the only way we can resolve them is through pretending the results are other than they really are. That’s possible, but I hope for most of us it’s a meeting of the past and Will that is resolved through ideals and the use of creative and imaginative energies. Usually the Universe gives us a choice, so let’s choose well. By 1 PM PDT of the 7th Mercury moves into quincunx with Neptune, which has of course been quincunx Saturn for some time, forming a Finger of God that may show us the way out of any delusion or deception. The message should be quite concrete, so if we’re open to seeing reality (Saturn) there’ll be no mistaking the meaning of what comes at us.

Vesta and Mars are trining Earth, which should be encouraging; this suggests the material situation is very clear, and that we can act to benefit ourselves while keeping our most important values in mind. A very good influence that we should all take advantage of, especially as we’re coming up on the Dark of the Moon preceding a Solar Eclipse, when we’ll likely lose our bearings temporarily–having everything in order before then is just good prep.

Odds and ends: Saturn in the 29th degree–reality presents itself, warts and all, and staring too long without reminding ourselves that things needn’t always be harsh is important, as too intense a gaze raises fear.

Venus opposed Neptune=all those Neptunian factors brought to love, relationships, money, talents, assets–if we’re likely to make a mistake in the next couple of days, it’s with these, possibly falling for illusion or distorted perceptions.

Pallas quincunxes Jupiter and sextiles Pluto=if we’re willing to be honest, and to adjust to social standards that we know are wise, we can refine our approach to interaction and socializing in a way that really puts us in harmony with our sphere.

6 July 2010: An Emotional Journey

Tags

, ,

The Taurus Moon decides to change things up around 2 PM PDT, with a trine to the North Node and a quincunx to Zeus. Until this point we’ve been riding along on the Moon’s trine to Pluto and opposition to Pallas, which gave the emotional picture depth and smarts–not bad at all. Now, with contact to the North Node and Zeus, we may find concerns put into high gear; we start to wonder (or is it worry? or obsess?) about where we’re headed and what we’d like to accomplish. We may be reviewing our material goals, and the outcome is a very personal thing–some will be elated with their progress, some downcast, and there’ll be every possible variation in between–but in any case, it is a valid time to (quickly, with a light touch) assess the effectiveness of the direction we’re headed.

The only problem may be overconcern; the Moon’s movement may make us insecure, when it should only make us observant. By 8 PM the pressure’s off, as the Moon sextiles the Sun, and by 10 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Juno and trines Vesta; all this offers us the confidence that may have been shaken earlier. We feel strong, maybe too strong; we could handle our own emotions with too much reverence–a gentle reminder in the direction of modesty and that we are all human may be in order here.

By 11 PM we’re well into a Grand Trine with Moon, Earth, and Mars/ Vesta, and this functions as a platform that presents the evolution of our day along with a surety concerning the actions we should take. It’s a relief, and we retire (at least, in the Pacific zone) satisfied about the emotional journey we’ve taken.

Aspect of the day: Juno sesquiquadrate Chiron=for those who are still at the mercy of their Chirotic wounds, this can be a very challenging aspect. Empowerment choices at present may hit all the pain buttons, and it may seem we can’t make a move without paying a price. De-mystifying the wound will help de-sensitize it; we tend to treat our hurts with such care that they take on the power to run our lives. Choose empowerment even if you anticipate it will cause pain–you’ll see that, even if it hurts, it won’t hurt nearly as much as you believe it will–and you’ll end up with more power and be more effective than you were before, making the payoff certainly worth the brave effort.

5 July 2010: A Feeling Bath

Tags

, ,

We start off the day PDT with a Grand Trine in Fire that sets the tone: Ceres, the Moon, and Venus combine and our feelings and sensitivities are inflamed in a way that makes it very uncomfortable to just be quiet. Those of us who have not been honest about emotions lately will have the worst time of it. For everyone it arrives like a lump in the throat, and really kicks off the next couple of days with the Sun conjunct Juno in Cancer. Get ready to take a feeling bath, to soak in way more emos than even Water types can stand, while Air folk may feel it’s so humid they can barely breath and Earth types will feel down in the mud and Fires doused. We have to trust, though, that the Universe knows what it’s doing, and accept that a wallow in our feelings is really necessary, I suspect as a purge for the coming New Moon eclipse.

I count the quincunx as a major aspect, so by my reckoning the Moon doesn’t go Void until 3:26 PM PDT today when it aspects Neptune; Moon enters Taurus at 5:28 PM PDT, just in time to give West Coasters some soothing evening time–or does it? Immediately the Moon sextiles Chiron with Uranus at the midpoint, giving us Outbursts! likely of all that we’ve processed through the emotions during the day. Could make for a wee drama or bout of sadness or even a surprising revelation, and purge-and-resolve could last through 1:30 AM PDT as the Moon starts to move out of her trine to Pluto and opposition to Pallas, the latter telling us that at least the emotional upset will be worth it, as we’ll learn some valuable lessons (or realize things we didn’t know about ourselves) in it all.

An important reminder: when purchasing the magazine or a book in PDF, please make sure you’ve included the email to which you want something sent, and that it will accept an attached file. 3-4 July 2010: Weekend Forecast-the Magnificent Magnifier

Tags

,

I see this weekend as a really volatile time (see details here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/) and as I don’t repeat myself, I’ll only add a few observations here. Of course, the blog, magazine, and Twitter comments are meant to provide a full and continually updated picture, with the mag holding major information on the biggest effects (and here’s where I want to say Thank You to those who’ve bought the magazine–you made my dream of a viable publication of my own come true!)–at only $2.95  for 3 months of forecast information, plus articles, I think it’s worth ponying up for if you really want my opinion–and if you don’t, you likely have other favorites, which makes what I say here on the blog, for free, just a little extra sauce on the pudding 🙂

So, what I would add as the way to handle the weekend energies is that anticipation is 99 percent of the game; that we don’t have to go down the rabbit hole, that in fact we’ll be able to side step the whole difficulty (or at least make our participation peripheral, at worst)–because the aspects say to me a whole lotta calamity and missteps are possible, on a personal, group, national, and global scale, and the more disengaged we remain (and I mean that in the sense of avoiding  being assertive, blindly putting our energy out there in an unconsciously pugnacious attempt to get something going). If we instead can remain genuinely neutral (and I say ‘genuinely’ because those of us riding the passive-aggressive float in this parade will be the most susceptible, vulnerable, and disaster-prone) we can ride this out with a minimum of upset.

It may not sound terribly progressive to say, “Shhh, sit down for now, and let it all go by,” but that’s been the feeling for a while now, and this weekend will be a kind of magnificent magnifier of what are already normally challenging energies (see the last few posts for a refresher, and check the magazine for material on Uranus into Aries and its retrograde, the Chiron effect, and so on), and those who can’t both physically and psychically remove themselves from the contentious fray will be caught like ants under the magnifying glass of a particularly indifferent child (probably just an Aquarius, experimenting!) Watch the Sun, the Nodes, Uranus, as they interact with your natal chart–these are the hot points. Surrender any idea that you are superior to the influences of others or your own unconscious, let go of the belief that you are impervious to attracting conflict or disaster, and recognize that, indeed, there is a lot going on in the world that could surprise you, and that might intrude upon your life, and you will be much better able to deal with whatever the Universe dishes up. And good things can happen, too–it’s just that you rarely need my help with those!

Moment of Truth: 7-9 AM PDT on the 3rd (Moon conjunct Uranus).

Today’s Link: Check this out, and get a free one-card reading-the Feral Tarot at Oculus Divinorum-an always interesting spot http://odivinorum.wordpress.com/the-feral-tarot/

Good luck, all, and in spite of my dire outlook,  enjoy your weekend!

2 July 2010: Yesterday Stands

Tags

,

Yesterday’s influences continue, with only a few modifications. Over the next 3-4 days Venus is hidden, and yet not–she stills exists, we’re just blind to her. She squares Sedna, and for a time we are unable to recognize the real sources of love. This is a tragedy of the first order; if we cannot see where love is, we cannot know what really matters. This suggests that over the next few days we should refrain from any big changes, from any major decisions concerning relationships, assets, talents, or finances. It’s that simple–just wait.

The Sun conjuncts the South Node, the Earth the North, all T-d by Zeus in Libra. Ambition and desire are still on the agenda, as are nostalgia and a real want to make progress. Just don’t be pushed to make changes or decisions now–without a clear line on our values (Venus) we may do something we’ll later regret

Meanwhile the Moon in Pisces encourages us to to daydream, experiment with our imaginings, and be open, but do this last with care, as vulnerability is exaggerated as long as Venus continues to dally with Sedna. The Moon goes Void at 4:18 AM PDT on the 3rd, and enters Aries at 6:44 AM PDT.
