2 July 2010: Yesterday Stands

Tags

,

Yesterday’s influences continue, with only a few modifications. Over the next 3-4 days Venus is hidden, and yet not–she stills exists, we’re just blind to her. She squares Sedna, and for a time we are unable to recognize the real sources of love. This is a tragedy of the first order; if we cannot see where love is, we cannot know what really matters. This suggests that over the next few days we should refrain from any big changes, from any major decisions concerning relationships, assets, talents, or finances. It’s that simple–just wait.

The Sun conjuncts the South Node, the Earth the North, all T-d by Zeus in Libra. Ambition and desire are still on the agenda, as are nostalgia and a real want to make progress. Just don’t be pushed to make changes or decisions now–without a clear line on our values (Venus) we may do something we’ll later regret

Meanwhile the Moon in Pisces encourages us to to daydream, experiment with our imaginings, and be open, but do this last with care, as vulnerability is exaggerated as long as Venus continues to dally with Sedna. The Moon goes Void at 4:18 AM PDT on the 3rd, and enters Aries at 6:44 AM PDT.

1 July 2010: Tug-of-War

Tags

, , ,

We have clusters of energy, at this point, each working on its own, each in many ways unconcerned with what’s going on elsewhere. We’ll tackle each gathering, not as various energies brought together, but as single ‘statements’ that stand alone.

The Aquarius/ Pisces group (NE, CH, the Moon for now) says we are pre-occupied with our fears, hurts, and fantasies; feeling is chaotic, and deconstruction of what’s racing through our minds is not possible.

In Aries (UR, JU) there is a rampant energy of Self, and this is in tug-of-war with Virgo/ Libra (Vesta, MA, SA, Zeus), making us worship the ego even as we are trying to restrain and contain the ambitions. The desire is to be productive, but there’s too much rebellion and restlessness, and our big wants are scattered.

In Cancer (SU, SN, ME, Juno) we may feel that all that caring energy is serving only to drag us backward into the past. Empowerment and communication are strongly desired but out of our reach. Why? It’s all versus the Sag/ Capricorn grouping (Ceres, PL, Earth, NN), where power and clout are dedicated to, if not controlling us, then messing us up good. The feeling here is one of futility, and deep frustration.

What’s left are stray dogs: Venus in Leo, Pallas in Scorpio, and Sedna in Taurus, all like lone, howling voices in the forest. Love seems tinged unpleasantly with Self-regard, wisdom is hiding in a cave somewhere, and the ability to be completely oblivious centers on our material world, and especially the world of the senses, and is something to be avoided.

It sounds hopeless, but it’s all, of course, temporary. To embrace our upset would be the height of foolishness. Instead we must hold within an awareness of the beauty and rightness of impermanence. Then, when faced with these energies in tug-of-war, we can take a deep breath and say, ‘This too shall pass,’ and turn our attention back to nature and to those things we are, quite consciously, creating.

30 June 2010: We Face Our Fears

Tags

, , , ,

Most of the non-Moon influences from yesterday hold over, and keep much of the same atmosphere going. We spend the shank of the day-as they say in the old country 🙂 -eeking out those last hours of the Aquarius Moon, maybe straining a little too much to make the energies count–but today it may be better to wait until the Void (beginning at 3:03 PM PDT) to really apply ourselves. Why? Even though South Node and Juno were sesquiquadrate Neptune, we didn’t really notice–not until Mercury joined them, the Sun moved into proximity, and the Moon came along and triggered our notice–and now they seem to speak to us! Or at least, they’re in the corner, mumbling about our past, our need for empowerment, and those fears specific to our emotions–and the problem is, those fears that are our illusions, and even those things we fear might be illusions, are the Neptunian boogey man that lurks nearby and keeps us from dragging those worries into the sunlight and sorting them out. Zeus doesn’t help, as he squares the gathering in Cancer and makes the Fist stir up all our ambitions and desires, and the fears related to those. We may be wrestling with something along these lines by afternoon PDT, and once the Void begins, the fears and hesitancies will dissipate, and we can tackle whatever it is that’s on our minds.

The Moon enters Pisces at 6:10 PM PDT and conjuncts Chiron, and our first thoughts may be: Ow! Why the heck did I go digging around in all that emotional dross?! But then we’ll realize we’re being handed the recipe for healing that situation we’ve been embroiled in all day. 1 AM-ish PDT the Moon sextiles Pluto, and we come to terms with what it is that must change, be re-born, or go.

July will be here any minute–be prepared with ECLIPSE! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Thanks!

28-29 June 2010: Expanding Personal Power

Tags

, ,

Hello, kittens (said in my best Dame Edna voice–for the uninitiated, it’s reminiscent of Julia Child), I hope the eclipse was kind to you. Remember, our eclipse picture sets a tone for the coming six months or so, through to the next eclipse set–and of course, the eclipse of last Saturday was only the first salvo, with the Solar eclipse still to come on July 11th. Before then we will definitely hit a rough patch (already described in ECLIPSE)–what I can say to those of you who don’t partake in the magazine is that the 3rd of July is definitely the day to watch.

You’ll notice over the coming few weeks that the blogroll will steadily shrink. It used to be my desire to provide links to as many great (or good) blogs and sites as possible. I like to change it up, though, as you know from my constantly changing template for this blog, and now I’ll be winnowing out those who lack reciprocal energy of some kind. There’s no malice involved, just a desire to spotlight those with whom I’m more actively engaged, as now the roll is just too long to really give due attention to friends and colleagues; some blogs and sites will remain if, even though they don’t link to me, I have a specific reason to feel gratitude toward the individual(s) involved. If I remove your blog or site and you do have a link to this site, please let me know and I’ll re-list you immediately  🙂

Today is of course the Superior Conjunction of Mercury and the Sun, the Superior being the meeting that occurs when Mercury is direct. This should bring a wrap-up to some seed event or development that began concurrent with the Inferior Conjunction of Mercury and the Sun, during Merc’s retro period (the last Inferior Conjunction happened on April 28th). Even if you can’t pinpoint a specific event this refers to, you should be able to apply the intention of drawing something to a close to which you’ve been applying your energy. The influence allows us to wrap things up nicely, with less effort than we might have to make at other times.

Today is also a meeting of Mars and Vesta in Virgo. Our intrepid pair trine the North Node and sextile Juno, and give us the energy, stamina, foresight, and sense of competency to tackle whatever we like. We are able to see what’s important and apply ourselves very effectively–the Moon in Aquarius helps with mental acuity and focus. Take matters into your own hands, and access your best judgment–if you feel foggy just think about things for a second–it’ll all come clear.

There’s a Fist of God with apex Venus, base of Jupiter and Pluto, forcing our attention toward the ways in which we can expand our power base (and this may take a subtle form, for instance, where we look for ways to feel more personally empowered, to raise our level of impact on our surroundings). How do we do it? Through taking a loving approach, through relationships, through referencing values, through respecting assets. It’s an opportunity to do well and do good, at the same time, if you get my drift.

2-6 AM-ish PDT on the 29th the Moon trines Zeus and quincunxes the Juno/ South Node exact conjunction. This brings a period when the emotional need to ‘best’ others may come forward in the less mature among us, while for the rest it may bring emotional desires from the past to the surface, and these will likely concern some form of feeling empowered. We may be strolling down memory lane wishing for a do-over, as what we know now makes us wish for then–use the impulse to get some perspective on why things went as they did, and be gentle with yourself–if you’d known then what you know now, you wouldn’t be where you are now, would you? And we’d all miss you.

Notice the Saturn/ Neptune quincunx and the way this stirs things up, via the Moon as it approaches Neptune. Contact doesn’t actually occur until the 30th, but my sense is that we may feel this coming–Neptune reaches out with foggy fingers and brings some emotional insight into our feelings about whatever we’re perceiving as a restriction or constraint right now–what we need to remember is that our perception of the Saturnian restraint may be muddled, delusional, or misinterpreted, and that means we could work ourselves up in what turns out to be a ‘wrong’ direction. Try to remember that at present the entire picture might not be available to us, so we should just relax and ease into the Void, beginning 3:03 PM on the 30th.

If you’d like to be prepared for July, and the upcoming Solar eclipse, look no further than here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/

Update: I’ve already had an amazing amount of blowback to my email (not the comments here), some of whom approve of the trimming of the list, and some of whom are outraged that I’m doing it. What amazes me is that others even have an opinion–after all, isn’t it my option to list as many or as few links as I like? For me, trimming the list is an affirmation of positive relationships–but I should already know that when you choose to re-claim your energy from draining venues, psychic or material, or even just from being spread too thin, some will object. My question is, do any of these people complain about the lack of links on other sites? I’m guessing not.

Lunar Eclipse 26 June 2010: Partial Eclipse, Complete Transformation

Tags

,

A partial Lunar eclipse in Capricorn begins at 4:30 AM PDT on the 26th at 4 Capricorn 46. I cover a couple of configurations active at the eclipse here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ and this info concentrates in particular on the dynamics we can expect; here we’ll talk about the most arresting aspect of the eclipse, the Earth/ Moon/ Pluto line-up with only 41 minutes separation, along with the other aspects that fall into our 2 degree orb. This conclave in Capricorn is startling; how can we have a culmination (Full Moon) that is also either a wipe-out or an experience of total transformation?

If we think of it like this, it makes sense: bringing matters of the House axis across which this eclipse falls (and particularly in the House where the Moon/ Earth falls) to a moment of culmination, to a conclusion or point of determination where we can say, “This is what it is, this is what we have, this is how it ends,” will bring its own new material view/ view of reality, one that transforms the subject at hand into something utterly and entirely different. The conclusion of one event, progression, or situation births another–it rises like the phoenix from the ashes of what came before, and because of what came before we are prepared to see it in a whole new way.

The Sabian for this degree is: ‘Indians on the Warpath. While Some Men Row a Well-Filled Canoe, Others In It Perform a War Dance.’ This suggests that the eclipse brings about a very particular attitude, one that is so strongly felt that aggression (or at least unequivocal assertion) is the proposed course of action. This attitude is taken by people well-equipped to wage war on/ let their attitudes be known to others, and there is no hesitancy in letting everyone know that this is the intent–though you’ll notice, no ‘war’ is actually being engaged in; this is bluster, hype, threats, a cry of ‘look how serious we are!’–and that implies that the intent is really to transform the playing field, to change the way others regard us, to be taken seriously.

The other aspects that fall within our orb measurement that figure in to this are an opposition to the Moon by Mercury, and the eclipse axis plus Mercury and Pluto create a T-square with Jupiter in Aries. This gives us more hints about meaning: we really are trying to communicate something quite distinct about who we are (Mercury conjunct the Sun), and we are willing to exaggerate to get our message across (Jupiter). The point is to broadcast an image that makes ‘them’ take ‘us’ more seriously ; the point is not to engage in an actual war, only to threaten this kind of all-out effort, in which consequences cannot be anticipated and destruction of some kind is almost guaranteed. (Note that Merc and Jupiter are both slightly more than 2 degrees from aspect but as always, the chart must be assessed as a whole, with necessary leeway granted in order to make sense of the Big Picture).

The eclipse makes one other aspect, with Moon/ Earth/ Pluto sextile Pallas. This tells us something that may be rather surprising about this image of broadcast aggressive intent: it’s a smart thing to do. Our own wisdom prompts us to make this noise, to beat this particular drum in this particular way, and it’s good that we do. Part of gaining the respect of others is that we are considered skilled and worthy Beings capable of effecting our surroundings–each of us needs this kind of regard, and built in to it is a certain animal response: we do not respect those who don’t have an effect on things or on us, and this is not a matter of physicality so much as a matter of the energy of the spirit as it reaches out to the spirits of others. It is the respect of one living thing recognizing the spark in another, and it’s this impression we’re seeking to make.

23 June 2010: Put Your Feet Up, Get Your Pisces On

That ol’ Scorpio Moon squares Saturn and sextiles Neptune just before entering the Void at 8:32 AM Pacific time on the 23rd. The effect is startling, either shaking up your reality and setting you off on a quest to realize ideals, or gauzing it over with a lovely layer of fuzzy imaginings, and in either case, the energy may change course completely as the Moon enters Sagittarius, at 11:09 AM PDT. In Sag the Moon trines Uranus and Jupiter and squares Chiron, setting up more umexpected opportunities and blind alleys, and we may hesitate to follow either as we fear it may hurt. Disorientation may be the order of the day; instead of trying too hard to organize and control, today may be a day to sit back and just go with the twists and turns. A relaxed approach may allow us to really enjoy what happens, without taking any of it too seriously!

The message, mostly, is to just let it all go. There’s no holding on to what doesn’t belong to us, anyway, so all the anxiety of late is mostly for naught. Venus sextiles Zeus, bringing up all kinds of possession, earnings, and relationship worry; it’s easy to feel that something must be done, but engaging with this energy will only wear you out. We’re coming up to the Full Moon/eclipse, and what we can do most to help ourselves is to just sit back and let it all go by. Access your Pisces, and engage in the activities of the House with this Water sign on the cusp, as we’ll probably be feeling like we’re having an out-of-body experience, anyway–might as well enjoy it!

Next up, the Full Moon report! Extra dimension is offered in the Spring ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Includes the July forecast, a month I’m thinking will be off the charts in some ways.

Relax! And have a good one!

22 June 2010: Aggression Becomes Compassion

Tags

, , , ,

We have Mars/ Vesta conjunct in Virgo, sextile Juno in Cancer, and this may express the heart of things for the 22nd: our own and others’ Will may be seen as sacred by the various parties, where each grants her- or himself the right to critique, criticize, and nitpick, but woe unto the individual who tries to apply these exercises in discernment to others. Criticism will not be well received, and we won’t accept a laundry list of our own faults well, either–but that’s not all . . .

Aggression, or at least Self-assertion, will be seen as a right, and we may be very intent on implementing our Will, particularly on the home front, in the sex life, and in those areas we see as sacrosanct. If we can fix on facts and details, and use them as a kind of rational baseline, we can then set reasonable boundaries between asserting ourselves and respecting others.

The sextile to Juno only hypes up the vibe, but with one significant addition: if we use the considerable confidence and energy to take caring action, to nurture others, and to practice true empathy, we can take these most prevalent influences and turn them into hugely productive actions that are wonderfully beneficial to those who surround us. A calm, loving, caring Cancer manner, assisted by the depth of feeling and the ability to embrace even the darkness with total acceptance that is the gift of the Scorpio Moon, will serve us well today, as our contribution can make a real difference.

21 June 2010: The Arrow of Purpose

Tags

, , , ,

In the 1 AM hour PDT we see the Libra Moon move into trine with Neptune in Aquarius, and even as the Moon is poised to trine the Sun in Gemini–and of course, technically there is a Grand Trine formed–or is there? as the Sun proceeds into Cancer before contact from the Moon–which means the Moon’s Void begins as it moves away from Neptune, starting at 2:45 AM PDT. This may offer us a ‘grand’ feeling, with big potential, especially along creative lines, but the impetus fades and we pick up a new energy thread with the Moon’s entry into Scorpio, at 5:13 AM PDT.

We should draw both inspiration and direction for the day from the Kite formed with the Moon at 00 Scorpio, sextile the 00 Earth, sextile 00 Chiron, trine 00 Sun trine the Moon (during the 5 AM hour PDT). We must attend to the material (the Earth at one ‘point’ of the Kite) as a direct representation of the spiritual and the personal (Sun at the opposite point). We receive an assist from intense emotion and what we’ve learned/ what skills we possess via Chiron. Put simply, it’s a day for using the Kite like a bow and propelling our Purpose (the Sun) forward on the Path, certainly an apt intention in the welcoming maximum light of the Summer Solstice. (See more on the Solstice here http://judecowell.wordpress.com/2010/04/14/looking-ahead-to-summer-solstice-2010/ and here http://www.starsoverwashington.com/2010/04/horoscope-of-summer-solstice-2010.html

The Moon’s quincunx to Uranus, also at 00 and formed simltaneous with the Kite, gives us a warning: the one thing we may have to adjust for will be the unexpected, something that when we roll out of bed in the morning we just won’t be able to anticipate. Look to the House Uranus is currently transiting in the natal chart, and to the House with Aquarius on the cusp, for the most likely arena for the surprise–and know that adjusting to it means the way will be clear to draw our bow and send our arrow of Purpose and intent into the future.

Either side of noon PDT the Moon offers another assist, by conjunction to Pallas and sextile to Pluto. We’ll see what’s wise and be able to purge what’s no longer of use, emotionally or otherwise. Don’t make too much of this, just use the energy and move on–it’s most effective when such assistance is accepted as part of the everyday, even as we are extraordinarily grateful for the aid.

Final note for today happens with the Moon’s square to Venus around the 7 PM hour PDT. We are shown quite plainly what the changes and actions of the day will cost, and we may be challenged to justify our direction to our important relationships, and perhaps to our finances. It’s important to pay attention to feelings at this time, especially our own, as we can learn a little more about what’s important to us in the process.

Between the coming eclipse set, and some high-tension aspects coming in early July, we can expect things to too easily slip off the rails. Though I’ll cover most of the main points here, at this time it’ll be the details that may make the difference;  guidance is available via the eclipse reports and July forecast in ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Your support is appreciated! 19-20 June 2010: From Tension Comes Creativity

Tags

, ,

I’m thinking that we’re all feeling a little tense, possibly from the Sun moving into late Gemini, putting the thought processes into overdrive. It’s trining Neptune, and of course squaring Saturn, perhaps prompting us to meet the pressures of reality either with innovative imagination, ideals, or, less positively, with utter nonsense. We may see the two areas, the practical and the impractical, hand-in-hand today. Accept with equanimity that when we observe the contradiction in others we are just as likely carrying the same out-of whack dichotomy of purpose and delusion within ourselves. In accomodating them both we may hit it lucky and end up giving reality a wonderfully creative boost.

Pallas sextile Pluto echoes this, allowing a natural, skilled, smart, and nurturing touch that will help replace what we sweep aside with something that is truly productive and sustainable–a kind of ‘bad habit’ overhaul easily attained at present. The Libra Moon conjuncts Zeus, then creates a T-square with the Nodes, approximately 8-11:30 PM PDT, bringing forward a particularly ambitious note in relationships–one party may find themselves pressuring the other for a future plan, a commitment, or ‘results’ before they know it. No matter how pretty you dress it up, no one wants to be cornered–just something to keep in mind.

By morning of the 20th we’ve got Mars in close conjunction range of Vesta, suggesting we could act on everything from home improvement projects to that new position we’ve been wanting to try (!) to really spreading our peacock feathers and strutting. We may not take criticism well over the next couple of days, if our ego is too prominent in the equation. Let bristling be your gauge as to whether you’re ego has too large a part in the proceedings.

Sun and Earth at 29 degrees by Sunday says some stress is to be expected; the Sun is essentially trine Chiron and square Jupiter/ Uranus at this point, inviting hurt, rebellion, and ‘taking it out’ in the social sphere. Try to focus on the way Venus in Leo says, ‘Center yourself, remember why you shine’ in order to keep overreaction (the biggest danger) to a minimum.

Grand Trine of Sun, Moon, Neptune midnight-ish PDT of the 20th could bring the illumination and inspiration we’ve been looking for–make notes, write it down, sketch it out, or the bits that made it absolutely ideal could dissipate into a frustrating fog.

18 June 2010: The Embodiment of Nature

Tags

, ,

11 PM PDT on the 17th the Virgo Moon squares Mercury to kick things off with words of conflict, criticism, or an accounting of details–keeping our interpretations mild and our words even more so will prevent any serious upset. This influence lingers through noon PDT of the 18th when the Moon trines Sedna in Earth and we find it easy to ignore reality and the facts; we’re way too open to the Sun’s trine to Neptune and the way it brings all our attention to our dreams, fantasies, and the ways we may be deluding ourselves, especially emotionally. If we’re willing we can see quite clearly and move toward our dreams while discarding delusions that only drain our time and energy. If we’re willing.

By this time Earth is exactly conjunct Ceres, and we may see, feel, commune with the embodiment of nature, with the natural world real and thrilling and tactile in a very unusual way, up close and personal, at least figuratively speaking. By 8 PM PDT the Moon moves along to contact Ceres/ Earth by square and the Sun as well, making a brief T through which we feel the emotional effects of our earlier nature encounter, or we feel a keen intuition that springs from our connection to the natural world–either way, it’s a feeling of Oneness with the Universe, focused even more strongly by the Moon’s conjunction to Saturn and quincunx to Neptune (10 PM PDT). This grounds us and requires once again that we let illusion go, or at least modify it enough to allow reality the stronger influence.

The Void begins at 10:52 PM PDT and the Moon enters Libra at 1:13 AM PDT on the 19th; at the very least we’ll immediately feel a lightening of the mood, even as we may find ourselves ducking a massive surprise from the Jupiter/ Uranus opposition and the quincunx from Chiron. If you’re poised and prepared (prepared for a surprise? I don’t know if that’s really possible) you may access (likely through the intuition) some unique skill, healing, or knowledge. Good luck!
