The 14th Is A Good Day To . . . look right into the abyss, and be ready to be poked in the eye by the powerful Finger of God with base of Jupiter-Neptune and apex of Mercury in Leo. This energy is going to feel personal, and the temptation may be to see yourself as the only one affected–that would be inaccurate. Big influences (Jupiter and Neptune) combine to deliver a message (Mercury) about each of us as individuals (Leo). In most cases, this is likely to read as opportunities within existing frameworks (Jupiter in Capricorn), when implemented with imagination, idealism, and/ or creative drive (Neptune in Pisces) will tell us something vital about who we are–and this is most likely something we’ve avoided knowing, with the Finger giving us a swift and slightly painful poke in the figurative eye–making us unable to ignore what’s being communicated (though acting on it is of course another matter).

What it all suggests about personal power and our own ability to act and choose may make us uncomfortable, but will undoubtedly hold wisdom and hint at both effective means of empowerment open to us, and point the way toward ambition and desire fulfillment. Is it a day to plunge forward, to roll the dice? Probably not, as the most important thing is to receive that message and then truly understand it–and that may not be easy as the conscious mind will surely fight this new, but potentially empowering, awareness.

Good Day To . . . 13 August 2020 Fire When Ready

The 13th Is A Good Day To . . . vow not to make yourself a target. The inclination may be to try and inflict your Will on those in power; you know you’re right, and they should acknowledge that and change–your idea or methodology is simply better! Unfortunately, they just won’t see it that way, and since they hold the power . . . you could end up wearing a big ol’ bullseye, soon to be fired upon.

You may also find that the power to ‘fire when ready’ is yours, most particularly if ‘the facts’ are on your side. In any event, opportunities to change the distribution of power in your sphere will exist–in which case the question becomes, how do you hit your target, without becoming one yourself?

The answer is, you might not be able to–and that needs to be okay, for now. To continue this tiresome symbolism, keep your powder dry and wait for opportunities–because those will come sooner than you anticipate, and you need to be ready.

The 12th Is A Good Day To . . . listen for the delicious word, look for the uplifting relationship, open your arms to the Love offered. Being open to either a supportive social circle or ‘the facts’ will stave off any destructive or deleterious energies, while keeping a firm eye on reality (and a good grip on the creative urge), and welcoming the spontaneous and original will make for surprising outcomes where everybody is enriched. To close off to the positive will only leave room for the expansion of the negative–so do your part, and be loved.

Good Day To . . . 11 August 2020 The Worry Bridge

The 11th Is A Good Day To . . . stay calm and think carefully; here’s why: there are a couple of influences with the potential to be exceptionally confusing as we try to navigate them. The gist of it is that the mind will be too strongly affected by events of the past to reason as effectively as we actually need it to, and perceptions are ‘assaulted’, in a way, so that we suffer contradictory reasoning that may leave us frazzled in trying to sort through it. The best thing I think I can do is elaborate on the pair of influences; awareness of their existence is probably the most important thing in gaining an accurate perspective.

One involves discord created by health matters that appear to conflict with our desires, ambitions, and wants. It seems either our health precludes pursuing what we’d like to, or the steps we must take to preserve health appear to create barriers to getting what we want. Here’s my take: you can’t get and enjoy what you’d like to, can’t achieve, if you’re dead. That should make it clear that protecting the health must be the priority.

The other influence brings delusions, illusions, fantasies, and nebulous, haunting fears to bear on the health picture; if we are frightened that we don’t have an accurate picture of what’s healthy, what’s right, it’s likely to preoccupy us, draining our energy from pursuit of goals and dumping it into a bottomless pit of anxiety. Look at it this way: we do our best to stay healthy, and we worry about illness only when we actually begin to experience it. There’s no sense in worrying about something that hasn’t happened and may never happen. Do your best to act in the best health interests of yourself and others, and cross the ‘worry bridge’ only if and when you come to it.

Good Day To . . . 10 August 2020 Concentrated Feeling

The 10th Is A Good Day To . . . be ready for a shock, surprise, accident, revelation. Events turn on the unexpected, what the group wants may clash with our ideas of how it should be, and we may be shook up by our own erratic, original, or subversive thoughts. The mind is unreliable, perceptions are tricky, and the senses may pull the rug out from under us–and the worst part may be that, try as we might to discern the facts or apply our beliefs, we find only marginal success. How to handle this? We should do as we do when signifier of the mental processes and perceptions, Mercury, goes retrograde: we concentrate on the feeling nature, on funneling perceptions so that emotional reactions become our language. The Taurus Moon will help ground us through material input, emphasizing comfort and the language of sensation, taste, smell, appetite; 11 AM-7 PM PDT the Moon will be in the vicinity of Uranus, surprising us through our surroundings and sensory experience, highlighting the availability of information through the feelings and intuition.

Good Day To . . . 9 August 2020 Power Basket

The 9th Is A Good Day To . . . not reject reality. Today our own actions and choices are likely to point out exactly how we may be disrespecting our own highest values, and how we may be pushed to act by those things we currently ignore or deny. We create a big mess if we refuse to see and deal with ‘what is’, but we can very successfully heal whatever we find if we 1) will take responsibility for those things that really are our responsibility (part of the reason we’ve repressed certain things is an unwillingness to admit what happens is up to us), and 2) cheerfully redistribute power. With that latter, you could do it begrudgingly, but that only perpetuates a sense that there’s not enough to go around; do it happily, and suddenly everyone’s ‘power basket’ is full.

The 8th Is A Good Day To . . . not listen to some social group or clique that wants to share ‘facts’ that are a distinct danger to your health. Under current conditions that likely applies to anyone who thinks they know better than the world’s epidemiologists. Though our knowledge of Covid-19 is growing and so changing every day, there are some solid established facts that those who are always looking for conspiracies (or looking to make a name for themselves), those who barely passed high school science but who now ‘just know’ how we should conduct ourselves, and those who earned their medical degrees on Facebook, will try to persuade you aren’t valid. You may be told that if you are spiritually and/ or biologically healthy you have nothing to fear, or that if you’re young it won’t be worse than the common cold (part of why this virus can be so deadly is that this is new to our immune systems–on an individual basis they may not be equipped to respond adequately), or that this is just Nature’s way of sorting us out–and with that last, I actually agree: survival of the fittest includes decimating populations who aren’t smart enough to respect the science of the virus, to learn, adapt, and so survive. Wear a mask over nose and mouth, social distance, wash your hands, do your part–when it comes to science, your beliefs don’t matter–and doing what’s suggested will, at the very least, show you care for and respect your fellow human beings.

Good Day To . . . 7 August 2020 Unmoored

The 7th Is A Good Day To . . . make the distinction among what we know to be true, what we simply think is true, what we believe, and what we’ve been told and accepted without proof. Sort through this, and a powerful creative impulse is at your disposal–but first you’ll have to deal with a sense of being unmoored, of having to turn over every stone in order to align inner knowing with outer verification, and all of it subject to measurement against our highest values. By the end of the day the mind should be clear, perceptions more accurate, and the Truth much easier to see.

The 6th Is A Good Day To . . . not allow pressure or insinuations from others to dissuade you of the importance of maintaining your highest values and honoring your commitments. You may be tempted to behave in ways that are both uncharacteristic and unwise, all in the name of keeping the peace or at least dodging criticism. You’ve handled a lot worse lately, sometimes brilliantly–there’s no reason to fold under this weak sh*t now.

Good Day To . . . 5 August 2020 I’m Opposed!

You may bend yourself all out of shape today if you let your temper get the best of you. Photo By Rudolf Koppitz 1925 {{PD}}

The 5th Is A Good Day To . . . take it really easy. You may feel like shouting every time something happens, “I’m opposed to that!” and your reaction may have nothing to do with actual circumstances. It seems we resist our own values and the obligations we’ve willingly taken on, seeing them as ball-and-chain attachments rather than as positively grounding elements of a balanced landscape; we get aggressive over or even toward our own ambitions and desires, assessing others’ comments as criticism and our own criticism of what we want but haven’t achieved as a complete injustice; and we ponder the costs of the past, all those ways we’ve ‘paid’ for less-than-satisfactory circumstances, that leaves us wishing we had made better ‘investments’ of time and energy.

How do we handle this deep, inner current of anger and dissatisfaction? We must focus our energy and attention on one of three things: 1) health, 2) Nature–get out in it, and 3) on those life areas where we hold personal authority, especially those areas where we are responsible for and to others. Hold in your mind the ideal You as you would like to see yourself in these roles and performing these functions; you also might look to someone you admire, and model your attitude on them. This isn’t a fix-all so much as giving you something important to focus on, that both helps you cut through the veil of anger and discontent, and that will at least in some small way help you re-align priorities and feelings.
