'The Blizzard' Cornelius Krieghoff c.1860 {{PD-Art}}

Just after 1 AM PST the Moon trines Sedna, making it easy to lose touch with our emotions. The atmosphere stays a little nebulous (and so do our feelings) until around 11 AM PST, when the Moon opposes Uranus, quincunxes Neptune, and squares Vesta; this teams up with Jupiter newly arrived at the Aries Point and brings a striking (and perhaps upsetting) amount of individualism and Self-interest forward, and much of it will masquerade as concern for the group or a willingness to ‘volunteer.’ It’s almost certain that what we are envisioning and idealizing at this point is not truly reflective of those things we find either important or sacred in the life, and we would do best to realize we are revved up without having first sorted out some clear and rational goals–the energy is overwhelming (or at least very stimulating!)–and there’s no real planning for what comes forward–it’s that kind of sketchy itch!

The Void is minute (My-Newt): starts at 3:24 PM PST and ends with the Moon’s entry into Libra at 3:59 PM–okay, minute was an exaggeration–but that’s exactly what we face as the Moon opposes Jupiter at the Aries Point. It’s likely our first big jolt concerning Jupiter’s new role in the Cosmos and in our personal world. I think our Jupiter energies will take a saucy, Self-absorbed turn in a very public arena of our choosing–and this suggests to me that it’s most important to keep the energies in check, at least initially–don’t let ‘regret’ become the word that expresses our Jupiter through Aries in 2011.

Note too that today Pallas and Mercury are closely conjunct–’think smart’ comes naturally to those who are serious-minded, Self-disciplined, and willing to follow the rules (Capricorn placement).

And just a note to those kind individuals who have friended me on Facebook but to whom I’ve not responded: if I’m not acquainted with you well enough to recognize your name, it’s unlikely I will accept. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I simply don’t know you at all (and if I do, but under a screen name, please let me know), and that makes me hesitant. I’m sure you understand, and I do thank you and appreciate the gesture. You can always friend the astrology page, ‘Julie Demboski’s Astrology’ Thanks~

Jacob wrestling with the Angel Leloir 1865 {{PD}}

Just before 9 AM PST the Moon trines Mercury in Earth–do we really need to open our mouths about material matters, ours and everyone else’s? No, we needn’t–but we just might, before we know it. Caution is in order, only because we may have a tendency to promise more than we can deliver at this point.

Things stay cool ’til right before 5 PM PST when the Virgo Moon squares Venus in Sagittarius–if we are feeling petulant, it will show. Somehow nothing seems to satisfy–for those on the commute at this time, take care–it seems like a point where tempers may flair for almost no reason at all. Whatever aggravating circumstances we see outside ourselves, it’s fitting to remind that this is really the state inside us–and so not to react strongly when others forget this fine point.

21 January 2011: The Aquarian Moon Gives Us the Finger

Finger of God, Moon in Leo, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

I've always heard it's not polite to point. Antonio Belluci c.1700 {{PD}}

By 9 AM PST the Moon is trine Vesta, making the emotions a reliable conduit for the most sacred values–if it feels right, it is right–the only exception is the person who’s disconnected from her or his own emotional palette, who thinks they feel, or who has mis-identified one emotion as another (and this latter is something we take for granted, that everyone identifies emotions the same way and as the same thing-and they don’t!!) If you’re mis-aligned with your emotional nature and you follow emotional prompts at this time, it will have unforseen, probably negative, consequences–just sayin’!

Right as the Moon enters Virgo (3:10 PM PST) it quincunxes Jupiter new and fresh and saucy at 00, and this creates a Finger of God with the upcoming quincunx of the Moon to the Sun at 5:30 PM Pacific, requiring us to adjust the emotional picture to the object of everyone else’s attention. We may feel we have more important things to attend to (and we may be right!) but the group requires we focus on matters either Aquarian or related to the House where the Sun is currently transiting in the natal chart, and that the lens be emotion or intuition, so that our acceptance of the social demand feels a bit false. In this instance, it’s best to go along to get along–and we may gain useful ‘camouflage’ of some kind because of our co-operative nature :)

Being truthful is all for the best 'Conversation' by Pissarro {{PD-Art}} Wikimedia Commons

Merc is quincunx Sedna and the Sun conjunct Pluto, a devastating combo, if we’re hiding something from ourselves–we won’t be able to run a number on anyone, our secrets may be revealed in transformative ways (positive or negative) and communications tell all without either party (communicator or receiver) being fully aware of what’s revealed. If ever there was a time to trust in the wisdom of the Universe, while being kind to ourselves and sure enough of our own good intentions to relax and accept that transparency is the best policy, it’s now. Live in a way where you’re ashamed of nothing you do, and there won’t be any reason to fear the direct gaze of others via the harsh and unblinking truth of an active Pluto transit.

24-25 December 2010: Curtailing the Critical, Achieving Balance

Moon in Leo, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

'Christmas Eve' Carl Larsson 1904 {{PD-Art}} Wow! Looks just like my house, come on over!

A couple of notes on the holiday:

4 PM-ish of the 24th PST brings a brief ‘blind spot’ (Moon square Sedna). 11 PM Pacific and the Moon is apex to a lovely ‘holiday Finger,’ showing us just exactly which way to go: opposition Neptune/ Chiron, base of Jupiter/ Uranus sextile Ceres. It appears the intuition must draw from our most unique skill (the Chirotic one) and the creative energy, balanced by awareness of and respect for nature and authority (and this authority will have the ring of practicality to it, so that it makes sense to respect it) and an exercise of one’s most unique characteristics–getting them out into the social sphere, ‘broadcasting’ them in some sense, is the final key–then the intuition can glean all it needs to know for the holiday period from these combined influences.

Trine of the Moon to the NN at 11:30 AM PST of the 25th brings a clear recognition of life direction–believe what you see, especially regarding indicators of the true material situation–this will be helpful in making future decisions. Moon trines the Sun, 12:30-ish PM PST–there’s balance and harmony in the air, if we’ll allow it (and yes, we may have the urge to upset things–it’s the influence of Mars coming up to square h. Zeus and Saturn that’s stirring things up, and the Virgo Moon can make a too-willing receptacle for criticism and doubt).

Have a lovely holiday, and even if you don’t specifically celebrate love and family at this time of year, I send you respect, good wishes for happiness, and a hope for all you could want in the New Year–thank you to All for making my year so special!

Retro Venus, Mars, and Pluto/NN are the core of the action today and early tomorrow–the Will, personal action urge, and aggressive energies will be fired up (likely unconsciously) and the challenge is to understand that what seems like a perfectly reasonable demand that you’re issuing is really a reflection of other upsets, deficiencies, or imbalances to the love nature. Target areas may be our closest relationships and/ or artistic ventures.

12-13 August 2010: It’s Personal

Fist of God, Moon in Libra, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Virgo Moon pulls away from its New Moon status and late in the sign quincunxes first Neptune (10:30 AM PDT) then Chiron (11:30 AM PDT), bringing abrupt notice to the emotions as they take stock of the connection to reality (how clearly are we seeing things?) and then as they scan the horizon for hurt. We think something might be harming us; in this case, the sensitivity to injury precedes any event. If we bring skills forward and put them to work, instead, we won’t go seeking upset, and no problem occurs. (There is one other scenario, where our recall of a past hurt insists on being addressed now–again, putting the abilities to work keeps things smooth).

By my reckoning the Void begins at 1:59 PM PDT, with the Moon entering Libra at 2:06 PM PDT. The Libra Moon looks to me like it will focus on the personal energies, especially relationships, our ability to really be ourselves within them, our wish to expand them in particular and our world in general, and by 11 AM of the 13th the Moon meets Zeus in Libra, bringing desires and ambitions to a head. We will likely spend all of the 12th in ‘personal mode,’ assessing and dealing with an array of relationships, but by midday on the 13th, we will move our attention to the ways we might get what we want. This Moon period brings a fairly straightforward dynamic, and it’s likely to feel, if not busy with interaction (as for many the activity will be largely internal), at least layered with the richness and variety of the personalities in our lives.

Yes, we’re still dealing with the Cardinal T, and Vesta has now joined Saturn–this is good news, as it brings our most sacred values into the mix. Now we know clearly what to preserve, to honor, what to change, let go of, or destroy, and what to take into the future. With priorities so prominent we can use the energy of the T for accomplishment; no need to wallow in the tension, when we can put it to work so effectively.

Early evening Pacific time of the 13th we may find a little relief as the Moon semi-sextiles Mercury. Merc has been somewhat isolated of late, and we could have been feeling that we just haven’t been getting our message across; this should offer us a way to connect, and especially to allow some venting of feeling.

Special Note: Neptune is sesquiquadrate Zeus and the South Node, apex to a Fist of God. Ambition and desire must take its cues from the past and all that we’ve learned–when it does, only our imaginations (formed to our ideals) are the limit.

Moon in Libra, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

We slide into the 16th with the Moon late in Virgo; we’ve been working hard but are somehow more alert than we expected to be. By 4 AM PDT the Moon is quincunx Neptune and we find we need a break, and imagination takes over. Pay attention to what you think (or dream!) at this time, as the direction our fantasies take will be revealing of what’s swimming around below the surface of our minds–and that means there are things wanted, considered, or longed for that we may not be aware of–always a dicey situation, as they can intrude in the most inconvenient ways on our conscious decisions and Will.

By 5 AM PDT the Moon conjuncts Saturn, and we put a lid on it–and if we don’t, somebody else will. Don’t allow the stop-short quality of the energy to throw you off course; it’s just a hint from the Universe to take some time off. 🙂

6:48 AM the Moon enters the Void; a Libra Moon begins at 7:24 AM PDT. This brings an immediate opposition to Uranus and quincunx to Chiron. For West Coasters it means we start the day with something startling and potentially hurtful–but even at that it may actually hold a positive Chirotic meaning as it encourages the use of related skills and may help us in manifesting a transpersonal form of our own Chiron, likely through relationships.

12:30 PM-ish PDT the Moon  finishes a T-square with an opposition to Jupiter and square to Pluto. The heavies are suddenly in play and our emotional and intuitive faculties are sharply aware of it. The square between Jupiter and Pluto is exaggerating what we believe (Jupiter) we need to do (Cardinal signs), specifically what we need to re-generate or transform, or even destroy so that it is out of our lives forever (Pluto), and the contact from the Libra Moon shows us how this might affect relationships. We may not have seen the situation before precisely as it reveals itself to us now, and that leaves us worried about which way to go–but 4:30 PM PDT or so the Moon semi-sexitles Pallas, then 7:30 PM-ish does the same to Venus, and as the Lunar energy passes through the field of their meeting (the midpoint of their sextile) it shows us both what’s smart and what we value–so if we are patient and don’t leap to conclusions and sabotage our relationships the wise course will be revealed.

By 1:30 AM of the 17th the Moon conjuncts Zeus and enters the long-term Nodal T-square of which the asteroid has been a part. The emotional ramifications of our current choices and the path along which they lead will be clear, and we’ll adjust both ambitions and desires (Zeus) according to what we feel.

14 July 2010: Setting Ourselves on a Truer Course

Moon in Leo, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

Post 2 AM-ish PDT and the Moon in Leo opposes Neptune before entering the Void briefly, at 3:24 AM PDT. The opposition brings a quick influx of stimulation, where we see how and, if we’re tuned in, why our emotional state fails to serve our dreams and ideals, and vice versa, in what way dreams and ideals may undermine our emotional needs. This presents a glimpse of the kind of Self-undermining we all can engage in without even realizing it. An opportunity for a rare kind of enlightenment, with the Void offering a short time for reflection, through to 6:14 AM.

The Moon storms into Virgo–and by that I mean the emotional and perceptual abilities are immediately primed to get down to work, to face the details, to be accountable and to keep accounts, and to get results, and the Moon opposed Chiron and quincunx Uranus is only a distraction–those who’ve got some unnecessary rebellion going on, or who are too attached to hurt, may lose the opportunity, at least for a little while, that the Virgo Moon offers. If you do get distracted, you’ll know that the issues before you can likely be handled with a particular kind of maturity that must be brought to bear–and that you’re the one who needs to do it.

11 AM and optimism peaks (Moon quincunx Jupiter); the conjunction to Venus (12-3 PM PDT) aligns our emotional perceptions and intuition with the best avenues for both relationship and reward–follow what you perceive at this point, it should pay off. At the same time the Moon trines Pluto, and we can clear out what needs to go, in both the relationship and values departments–and that means we may find out a few Plutonian truths about who we are and who we’re involved with and what we’re pursuing that can be invaluable in setting our lives on a truer course.

Just after midnight on the 15th the Moon trines the North Node, and we see the rightness of our course correction. Overall, a highly productive day for those who will go with prevailing influences.

18 June 2010: The Embodiment of Nature

Moon in Libra, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

11 PM PDT on the 17th the Virgo Moon squares Mercury to kick things off with words of conflict, criticism, or an accounting of details–keeping our interpretations mild and our words even more so will prevent any serious upset. This influence lingers through noon PDT of the 18th when the Moon trines Sedna in Earth and we find it easy to ignore reality and the facts; we’re way too open to the Sun’s trine to Neptune and the way it brings all our attention to our dreams, fantasies, and the ways we may be deluding ourselves, especially emotionally. If we’re willing we can see quite clearly and move toward our dreams while discarding delusions that only drain our time and energy. If we’re willing.

By this time Earth is exactly conjunct Ceres, and we may see, feel, commune with the embodiment of nature, with the natural world real and thrilling and tactile in a very unusual way, up close and personal, at least figuratively speaking. By 8 PM PDT the Moon moves along to contact Ceres/ Earth by square and the Sun as well, making a brief T through which we feel the emotional effects of our earlier nature encounter, or we feel a keen intuition that springs from our connection to the natural world–either way, it’s a feeling of Oneness with the Universe, focused even more strongly by the Moon’s conjunction to Saturn and quincunx to Neptune (10 PM PDT). This grounds us and requires once again that we let illusion go, or at least modify it enough to allow reality the stronger influence.

The Void begins at 10:52 PM PDT and the Moon enters Libra at 1:13 AM PDT on the 19th; at the very least we’ll immediately feel a lightening of the mood, even as we may find ourselves ducking a massive surprise from the Jupiter/ Uranus opposition and the quincunx from Chiron. If you’re poised and prepared (prepared for a surprise? I don’t know if that’s really possible) you may access (likely through the intuition) some unique skill, healing, or knowledge. Good luck!
