Just a Little Essence for Today 2 December 2011: ‘Big Picture Seeing-ness’

8 AM Pacific time sees the Pisces Moon trine Juno; we can be feeling very empowered at this time, especially if we are vibing to the Collective as a whole–we can draw from the generally available sense of power and the feeling that we can adequately control our surroundings to suit our needs. It’s a rare point of positive feeling grounded in emotional far-sightedness (or perhaps I should say, in ‘Big Picture’ seeing-ness).

5:30 PM PST the Moon arrives at conjunction with Ceres. All that positive thinking from earlier now meets its power-expression. We experience our own natural authority, whether it’s called forward by meeting other authorities or just is; and we can experience nature, or negotiate, in top form.

Just a Little Essence for Today 1 December 2011: ‘The Seductive Quality of Drama’

'Between Hope and Fear' Alma-Tadema pre-1912 {{PD-Art}}

Void begins at 3:28 AM PST; the Moon enters Pisces at 6:46 AM PST. Immediately there’s a conjunction to Chiron; here the danger is that we may take on free-floating negatives that are just hanging around in the ether. Just before 9 AM PST the Moon sextiles Jupiter, exaggerating whatever we’re feeling–and that could be a magnification of the aforementioned free-floating angst. Our big challenge today will be to both disown anxiety that’s not our own and to keep feelings of magnification, destruction, and general drama from overwhelming. Our true feeling state may be much less impressive than the one we’re invited to be a part of–and the seductive quality of drama could make for a big waste of time.

Just after 6 PM PST the Moon sextiles the Venus/ Pluto conjunction, again offering us a juicy feeling experience centered on vanity, beauty, jealousy, power, and the desire to change things–but that is not necessarily our own. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to know who we are–only if we have a natal Pisces Moon might so much openness to the Collective be manageable.

3:30 PM PST the Aquarian Moon conjuncts Vesta and squares Sedna, perhaps bringing us to internal or external statements of our highest priorities, to what we find sacred, even as we are aware that we are somehow disconnected from these most important issues. We may feel alienated from home and partner, and in a worst-case scenario, we may not realize our alienation consciously. The conjunction may, with any luck, act to keep us aligned to what’s important through the intuition and feeling nature–but, the hardest part may be not knowing that this is effectively so!

'A Little Coaxing' Bouguereau 1890 {{PD-Art}}

11:30 AM PST the Aquarian Moon conjuncts Pallas and perfects that sextile to the Sun, turning the spotlight on our own emotional or intuitive wisdom–the only question is, will we accept it without criticism? This says we should.

1:30 PM Pacific sees the Moon quincunx Mars. We may be caught in an emotional web where we try to rationalize the ego’s critical ways; we may be lead farther and farther into intellectualizing those things around us that are making us uncomfortable, but the answer is found in feeling, which for the moment seems awkward and inadequate. Too much Self-focus, or aggressive focus on others, will not help. Here the answer may be to adopt some earth-based (in the material realm) action that can ‘burn off’ the energy without damage to ourselves or innocent (or not so!) bystanders.

G. di Giovanni del Fora 'The Combat of Love and Chastity' c1480 {{PD-Art}}

Void begins at 3:02 PM Pacific time; the Moon enters Aquarius at 11:02 PM PST, starting things off with a Lunar sextile to Uranus. Surprise! That’s really it–you’ll learn something new, shocking, of an avant garde nature, or from the group that causes a ‘Whoop!’ big or little. Your own rebellious nature may be the source of this, or it could have a competitive tone, almost academic in the way it presents someone’s (maybe even your) attempts at one-upsmanship. Roll with the punches, if at all possible.

A new issue of ECLIPSE will be out tonight, Pacific time–subscribers get it sent straight to their email, and it will be available by single copy!

From the newsletter:

The 27th Venus in Capricorn trines Jupiter in Taurus, and we will have abundance: of loving friends, of money from successful expansion efforts, of love itself, or we may be aided in getting our talents or assets out ‘on the market’ or successfully sharing them with others. Don’t forget this is a Merc retro period, so approaching all through a feeling nature, rather than a reasoning one, is the best way to process events and understand influences.

Bettina von Arnim, Hunting Scene of Cut paper/Scherenschnitt pre-1859 {{PD-Art}}

Void begins at 4:07 PM PST; Moon enters Capricorn 7:05 PM PST.

Right away we have a conjunction of the Moon and Venus, a sextile to Chiron, and a square to Uranus. Released from our previous uncertainty and worry, we are now feeling all the pressures of Capricorn (what’s my status? do I matter? what are the rules? where are the boundaries?) and they seem inseparable from our relationships and perhaps the asset situation as well. With some discipline we can draw on our most unique skills, though we should expect real conflict with the group or dealing with our own rebellious feelings–so the only source of difficulty in reality will be within, or with the group–but not in the relationships or financial situations that seem to be the source. We must work to keep it straight :)

Just a Little Essence for the Sagittarius New Moon 2011/ Solar Eclipse: ‘At Play’

'Children Playing in Autumn' Plinke pre-1915 {{PD-Art}}

In the newsletter I called today ‘The Big Day’ for November; between the aspects and the partial Solar eclipse, it just seems like it is! Here’s a little something on the Sabian for the New Moon in Sagittarius, at 10:08 PM PST at 2 Sagittarius 36:

The Sabian for this NM/Eclipse is ‘Two Men Playing Chess’ Though the influences are complex, and the potential ‘moves’ many, we must not lose sight of what this (and by ‘this,’ I mean ‘Life’) really is: a game. This symbol strongly implies that we should approach events at this juncture with a mentality that is playful and flexible enough to respond, not as if matters are of life and death, but as if they are a challenge to our adaptability, our agility, and our ability to process, discern, and choose, and all with the end of becoming ‘the winner’ (in our own game). There is also the thought that the two men can represent either two active, doing, animus stances within ourselves, so that the game is an internal one, where we hope to defeat internal obstacles, or that they represent ourselves vs an external challenge or opponent–but then, if the external is really just a reflection of the internal (no matter how it seems or feels) then it’s really the same problem, isn’t it? This suggests, then, that the NM hard aspect to Chiron illustrates exactly what may constitute our opponent–so look to the natal Chiron situation for clues as to what might arise as our dysfunction, and also as to the healing attitude we might adopt in order to reconcile the two players, after the game (after the NM period).

For the ‘full’ New Moon picture! please see the newsletter by subscription or single issue–Thanks! And to those who are celebrating, Happy Thanksgiving! And to those who are not, Happy Thursday!

Portrait of a Woman with her Daughter by Bruyn c1540 {{PD-Art}}

10 AM PST the Scorpio Moon conjuncts Juno, uniting the emotional state with empowerment needs–and either empowering us in a way that feels wonderfully whole and solid, or making us feel we are disempowered, fueling our efforts in a way that’s almost desperate. The difference is found in our emotional healthiness at the time; those who are feeling emotionally-based stress, who are insecure or in significant denial, will feel the panicky uncertainty of a kind of abandonment, of our own Cosmic lack of nurture–or rather, of our inability to accept the nurturing the Cosmos offers. If you suffer the negative reaction, let it be notice to you that something is being walled off that could actually be of great benefit to you–open up and let it in.

Just a Little Essence for Today 22 November 2011: ‘Picking the Emotional Bones’

Bruyn c1540 {{PD-Art}}

Moon enters Scorpio at 5:58 PM PST. First aspects are a trine to Chiron and a Finger of God with base of Uranus and Earth; as well, Jupiter at just over 2 degrees Taurus sits within midpoint parameters for the Finger base and so in opposition to the Moon from the get-go. Here we may see the promise of getting to the bottom of the feeling nature if we can only get the individuality expression and the material situation to mesh–and this with the added caution that the social sphere will not be supportive of our emotional revelations or discoveries, and that we have a major potential to heal something significant in the process. The implication is that our healing may not be seen as positive by those who feed on our confusion, dysfunction, or insecurity. Do not allow the vultures to shake your confidence and pick your emotional bones! Embrace healing, even if it means looking into the reality of some less-than-loving relationship dynamics.

If you visit every day, you really should subscribe–you’ll get a lot more out of it! And if you prefer, you can now purchase single copies of ECLIPSE anytime you want; these contain the detailed forecast, articles, and more–but for the daily Lunar rundown, with each aspect of the Moon discussed, you need a subscription that allows access to the protected page, EXTRAs! and more! Thank you to my subscribers, and to everyone who is so supportive!
