Fernand Khnopff – ‘The Veil’ 1887 {{PD}}

It’s all about what’s hidden, ignored, denied, or about what has and continues to enrage us; the mind is filled with these thoughts, and all attention goes there (Sun conjoined Black Moon Lilith, Mercury parallel BML). A very special key, one that frees us from this obsessive and mostly fruitless ruminating, is found in the past, in experiences or lessons that we didn’t suspect, until now, to truly be of use (Sun-BML nov SN). Think back for that solution or answer; it’s of an Aquarian nature, found in the modern, technological, advanced, intellectual, in the matters of the House where Aquarius is in the natal chart, or in a simple state of understanding, which may involve taking a cooler approach to things, from a different angle than you assumed before.

By Javcon117* from USA – My Pink Snowman, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=54768735

Today’s word image is a snowman. To my surprise, I’ve found that people have very individual associations with and feelings about snowmen. When I think of them, I feel a little tired. As a child the adults always suggested making them, but wouldn’t allow use of anything but rocks to make a face–and the result was a bit grim. It always seemed like a sad labor that resulted in a grit-faced monster, rather than the jolly being I’d envisioned. Now to me a snowman symbolizes someone’s idea of ‘keeping others busy’, that is just disappointing, a waste of time and energy, to those others; I’ll look around for that in my life. So what do snowmen mean to you? That’s what you should ask yourself–and go from there.

How to Make It Through the Holidays: Aquarius

Aquarius, astrology, Holiday Survival Tips

This year have a little fun with everyone else, Aquarius. Hanneman c1630 {{PD-Art}}

No matter what you do or don’t celebrate, it’s the holiday season–there’s no way to avoid it. In the newsletter I shared a few tongue-in-cheek suggestions for how to survive this annual time of family, food, fights, fun, fruitcake, and all those other ‘f’ words, and I’ll be sharing a little advice for each sign, one at a time. Your Nemesis, listed at the end of the sign, suggests who might be out to sabotage or just give you a hard time, while your angel is the sign energy you can call on in others for assistance, and your personal elf or cherub is the sign energy that will cheer you up and work behind the scenes to make your holiday special. Watch for the final installment tomorrow.

Aquarius  What’s your holiday philosophy? The truth is, I don’t want to know, and neither does anybody else. When you wax grandiloquent after a couple of eggnogs on the subject of  ‘What Purpose Communal Celebration Serves Within the Social Survival Matrix,’ the other signs would like to strangle you with holiday garland, while any other Aquarii in the room compete with their own pet philosophies. The holidays are not the time to display your brain, unless you’re a Zombie and it’s scrambled with eggs for a festive post-party brunch; neither is it the time to gift everyone with your latest invention–no matter how clever or needed, it’s still all about you, and that’s what draws pushing and shoving matches your way: when every holiday function you’re involved with, every event, accessory, dish and doo-dad leads right back to your desire to show just how unusual and gifted you are. Is that fair to say? Probably not–you’re as kind, loving, and holiday-inspired as any of us–but this is the perception, as all anybody sees is your ‘Ah-ha!’ moment at the great reveal of Aquarius’ latest idea or innovation. ‘They’ don’t see the work you do; they only see an individual who wants to be viewed and applauded as unique. At holiday time resentment of Aquarius rises as AQ seems to put her or his own interests and objectives ahead of the group–the operative word is ‘seems.’ Aquarius, even when pursuing individual objectives, is always thinking of the group; the group just isn’t always aware of this. So how do you bring resentment down and popularity up? By doing less for the group and more with the group. One of the biggest problems is that when people gather to make preparations or distribute responsibility, Aquarius is already at work on something, and nowhere to be found–and it makes AQ seem selfish, standoffish, and ‘too good for,’ as for the more simple-minded, absence equals rejection–and that’s where the cold remarks, one upsmanship, and feigned indifference to Aquarian achievements originates. So, Aquarius, show up to paint ornaments, string popcorn and cranberries, and decorate the tree with everybody else, help set up the card tables and rented chairs before the big meal, and in front of everyone offer to clean the bathroom–and then do it. No one will ever think you’re a snob again 😉 Your Nemesis this holiday season: Pisces, Capricorn, or Leo/ Your secret angel: Libra/ Your own personal elf or cherub: Gemini

Aquarius, Moon, Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

UPDATE: In visiting my page this morning, I realize that WordPress managed to drop at least two paragraphs between me pressing the publish button and it appearing on the page. My apologies, as it reads like nonsense at this point! I’m going to add some material that fills in what I meant. jd–Okay, I hope what I’ve added fills in the missing gaps. This isn’t the first time paragraphs have disappeared, but I don’t really know what to do about it. jd

I don’t have much to say about our lovely Aquarius Moon, as most of the aspects it makes for a while will be mildly pleasant ones, at best, and our reactions and thought processes will clip along in Higher Mind, Water Bearer-fashion, essentially continuing the rather thin-feeling atmosphere that exists right now–I say thin as people still seem a little discombobulated from yesterday’s wallop (seems to have left us all reeling with draining and yet mostly unexplainable experiences), and the thinness of the air is like being at very high altitude; we’re talking, smiling, going about our business, and yet immensely distracted, ready to retreat to sleep or giddiness at any moment. Such is the Aquarian Moon tendency to encourage retreat (or perhaps better said as rebellion from day-to-day realities) when we are feeling stressed, or just sense the elements of life pressing too close.

A Grand Cross is formed starting around 4:30 PM PDT today, the 5th, with the Sun/ Earth (+ Pallas) axis, the Moon, and Mars in Leo. This suggests the emotions will contradict (or maybe even light up and get going) the action urge–no matter which, we’ll see that our feelings and ego aims will not serve our intended direction. Should just generally make each of us feel at odds with our efforts, as if the timing is off, or as if we’re missing a piece we need to successfully go forward (and that’s probably Merc retro). All we can do is try to minimize the internal (and possibly external) discord by making sure our emotions are aboveboard and aligned with our goals.

1782 JE Bode Wassermann/ The Water Bearer

The Cross lasts through about 10:30 PM PDT. The only other aspect that draws my attention is the exact quincunx at this point of Vesta and Jupiter, with the Moon opposing Vesta starting around 2 PM PDT on the 6th. This suggests the slower aspect (Vesta/ Jupiter) provides some ongoing need for adjustment between the social arena and the things we hold most vital (and this can mean we need to adjust our own ideas of what’s sacred–for instance, not treating our own words and thoughts as inviolable, as this may go beyond Self-respect to completely unreasonable). The Moon comes along and adds emotions and intuition, perhaps in the form of resistance (the opposition) to the need to modify what we believe is above modification. This generally sounds like we’ll all be asked, one way or another, to consider that something we treat with kidd gloves needs to be reevaluated–whatever it is, it’s received a position on our personal altar–and it doesn’t belong there!

There’s a coming conjunction of the transiting Sun to Sedna, window imo starting the 6th and lasting through about the 15th, and this includes the period of the New Moon. If we can’t see the light, well, how do we know what’s what? Mostly, we don’t; this says expect a period wherein our very reason for being may be elusive. The remedy is to stick to what you’ve formulated prior to this, to what you know yourself to be when not under this influence, and continue–it’s not a time for deep Self-questioning. More Forecast available below with ECLIPSE. (This is a wider time span than I gave the transit in the mag, but I’m now feeling that it’s much more noteworthy than I first thought).

Please be patient–I’m handling the Ceres requests in the order they come in, so it may be as much as a full week before you receive your reading. Thanks!

7-8 April 2010: Remembering Love

Aquarius, Moon, Moon in Aquarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

Ah, Aquarius Moon! We all could use a little calm, cool, and collected–certainly a phrase reflective of the Aquarian mindset. I’m witnessing two ways of responding to the Aquarian energy: some of us have been responding to Chiron at 29 degrees, with rampant and insistent Self-sabotage, and the Moon simply brings our emotional attention to it, and some of us are feeling overworked and overwhelmed (and though this isn’t the cause, Juno/ Sedna conjunct may have contributed to the feeling as we’ve been unable to see what might be empowering, especially materially, with the conjunction in Taurus), and this sense of being overtaken by events, duties, work may see a lightening with this Moon, as it allows us to get some distance and handle with the mind what might otherwise affect us emotionally.

I discussed the effects up through the oppostion to Mars here https://juliedemboski.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/6-april-2010-a-dose-of-emotional-wisdom/ and also talk about Pluto’s turnaround; so what about the rest of the day? Around 4-6 PM PDT the Moon semi-sextiles Pluto, and normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, but it may allow a glimpse at what the Pluto retrograde holds emotionally for each of us.

By 8 PM PDT the Moon squares Mercury, and emotions may drive words–conflict is in the air, and considering how irritated many of us have been, lately, we may be better off lying low–though certainly the urge to intellectualize our pain, or to address differences through discussion, will be strong–go for it only if you are able to stay rational and not use the Aquarian energy as a way to justify what is really an emotional upset.

Midnight Pacific the Moon squares Venus, and for an undisciplined few, the temptation to drag those agitated thoughts from early in the evening into  relationships, or into consideration of values, talents, and asset use, will be overwhelming–everybody else may feel a kind of alienation, a sense of being just a little removed from love–so our best response may be to remind ourselves (for the mental processes will likely be in radical overdrive–thanks, Aquarius!) of all the love we have. Remembering that we are loved, whether we are able to see, feel, or perceive it in the moment, can be a powerful mental tool to get us through a rough patch and keep us making decisions that are to our benefit.

A trine of the Moon to Zeus around 7 AM PDT on the 8th will bring a ‘feeling our oats’ interlude–at this point the mind may be clicking faster than we can keep track (or control) of, and allying it to ambitions and Will could make us say (or commit to) things before we know it–so slow it all down, if possible. A quincunx to the South Node during the 2-3 PM hour may take us down memory lane–and we’re likely to adjust our interpretation of our memories because of it.

6 April 2010: A Dose of Emotional Wisdom

The Moon moves through the latter half of Capricorn today and more subtle energies come forward–and that means influences may surface in behavior before we even know they’re there. Right now the Moon’s sextile to Jupiter makes the future seem expansive; we can’t, for the moment, imagine any obstacles that could slow us down, but by around noon Pacific time they start to appear: a quincunx to Vesta and trine to Sedna that brings a need to adjust our actions (or at least our emotional reactions) to our values–the problem is we either won’t know how to do this or won’t see the need to in the first place. This combo makes for distressed feelings around core priorities or a sense of ‘flying blind’ that can be disorienting or may give a feeling of invulnerability–the old ‘if I don’t know about difficulties they can’t hurt me’ routine.

The trick is to pay attention to what we perceive around 10 AM PDT. This is when the Moon sextiles Pallas and gives us a dose of emotional wisdom. Whatever we’re seeing as smart at this point should be followed through on, with subsequent urges for change best left until the judgment clears once again. By 3:30 PM the Moon is trine Juno and we’re back in wisdom territory, at least in terms of being able to discern what will empower us; if we’re considering making a move in the relationship arena, though, think twice, as Juno can get all judgy and vindictive when it’s not in her own best interests. Look for avenues of personal empowerment expression that don’t involve the mate or those of whom you might be a touch envious or jealous, and put your energy there.

Pluto retrogrades this evening Pacific time; effects won’t be immediate, more like the brakes being applied to a train–you can travel a long way in the same direction before you come to a halt. Wherever it’s sitting right now in your chart, it may feel a little like a wee bit of heart attack pressure, as Pluto stations and, it seems, presses down–but this will be something you’ve lived with for a while now, there just may be more of an awareness of it, along with a more active desire to get out from under it, as Pluto goes retrograde.

By 11 PM PDT the Moon helps Uranus sandwich Neptune, with the sextile between the Cappy Moon and Uranus delivering a surprise or jolt straight out of dreams, delusions, or fantasies (I’d love for you to share how this might manifest for you, if you’re so inclined). The Moon’s Void begins at 1:20 AM PDT; Moon enters Aquarius on the 7th at 5:50 AM PDT. The Moon immediately trines Saturn; less than an hour after the Moon’s entry into Aquarius Saturn will retreat to 00 Libra 00, and we will all feel it. How, you ask? It may come in a ‘frontier’ feeling, a newness or rawness that imparts a temporary feeling that there are no rules, particularly in how we relate to each other (Libra). I’ll be watching this closely, as I sense there’ll be some Saturnian surprises in this, perhaps with boundaries lifted or structures or organizations we’ve counted on in the past for the moment unreliable. Again, would love to hear how this shows for you.

By the time the Moon opposes Mars in Leo (about 2 PM PDT) we may be just about ready to burst. The desire to do something about recent perceptions will be mighty–just make sure you’re keeping what came forward from that dose of wisdom in mind.

Aquarius, astrology, Moon, My Daily Astrology Diary

2 AM PST on the 11th that tart of an Aquarian Moon (no disrespect meant, native Lunar Aquarians, it’s just that the Aquarius Moon favors the smart, the fashionable, the forward thinking, and that’s a recipe for cheeky!) trines Saturn in Libra, which gently but firmly puts the brakes on Aquarius’ party; it’s a great time, actually, to re-consider the emotional landscape, as it slows things (especially the mind) down just enough to allow pondering, without robbing us of any clarity of sight or acuity of thought.

The Moon moves on to sextile Arian Venus, exact just after 8 AM PST, and for West Coasters starts the day off swimmingly, at least if we are able to make a little effort to get the love out (or to let it in). For everyone else, it marks a pleasant point; time something meaningful for this aspect’s duration to get the most from its ability to deliver what we value.

By 4 PM PST the sassy Moon squares Juno in Taurus, and may run into trouble; emotions conflict with those interested in exerting power over us. We resist, and tantrums or intellectually-rooted arguments are possible, and this may be over possessions or assets (Taurus). At this point there’s a Grand Trine involving Pallas, the Sun/ Uranus, and the South Node, and this suggests wisdom gleaned from the past may serve us well in choosing which parts of the individuality to assert at this time.

We get a long spell to sort out our feelings, and by noon of the 12th the Moon forms a quincunx to the South Node; this indicates that, between the 4 PM aspect to Juno the previous day and noon of the next we are still dealing with personal power and empowerment issues, and the noon quincunx calls us to a final adjustment of attitudes driven by feeling. We may not deal with this actively, but we’ll notice the difference in our perceptions once the quincunx is over, the end result a mini-evolution in both mental and emotional viewpoint.

Aquarius, New Moon

Red Lanterns by Dcubillas

We enter the Dark of the Moon this evening, the 10th, PST, and in the darkness find some chance for pre-New Moon renewal. But isn’t the New Moon the point of renewal? you may ask–yes, but this New Moon is going to demand a lot from us; our task in the days leading up to it is to absorb the calm, to gather strength and focus that will be called upon when the Sun and Moon meet.

The New Moon (also the Chinese New Year, which always falls on the New Moon in Aquarius each year) occurs at 6:50 PM PST at 25 Aquarius 17, and there are three aspects made within our strict two degree orb, conjunctions to Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, and a sextile to Arian Juno (and here’s where I should apologize to Eclipse readers, as I simply left out Neptune in listing aspects for this Moon, though it was taken into account in interpreting the extra information provided in ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’–http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/ Scroll down for article excerpts).

The imperative for this New Moon is clear: we must reach past the hurt and illusion/ deception to find our own, ‘new born’ empowerment, and this must have an intellectual or Higher Mind cast. The hurt and illusion is nothing more than a viewpoint we have superimposed that has allowed us to remain disempowered in the present–but now we are called (or perhaps challenged) to let go of whatever has been misleading us, deluding us, fooling us, distorting our thinking, or making us shy away from our appropriate direction out of fear of being hurt (or, in some cases, out of a fear of bringing forward some of our most unique and accomplished skill sets), and all of these are mentally-oriented. This misdirection has been perpetrated with our cooperation; the Aquarius New Moon asks us to apply the Higher Mind and overcome assumed and accepted limits.

The Sabian for this degree is ‘A Garage Man Testing a Car’s Battery with a Hydrometer’ suggesting applying our skills to a measurement of our energy capacity, and in particular our energy capacity as it is affected by our emotional ‘charge.’ Hydrometer does, after all, suggest ‘measuring water,’ an estimation of the strength of the emotional ‘body’ as it superimposes itself on the realities that surround us. It’s reasonable to draw connection between the emotional state and those things that may have affected our sense of empowerment, and the New Moon symbol implies we have the skills at this point to deal with any impediments.
