Mercury direct, Weekly Astrology, weekly forecast

The Arnold Children, Western Washington, 1939 Photo By Dorothea Lange, available through the US Library of Congress

On the 1st we’re still ridin’ that Full Moon wave (or are they tremors, in humble Taurus?) It’s a matter of trying to square (see what I did there, between Merc and Saturn?) thinking with reality, communication go-aheads with information shut-downs, and travel inclinations with staying put. It’s important to know that the pressure we feel to ‘prove ourselves’ in some way is actually an echo of things we’ve repressed or denied–so that tension is Self-inflicted, and so unnecessary (Juno contra-parallel Black Moon Lilith). In this state of mind, it may seem impossible to use the love in relationships and talent expression to heal what ails us, but that’s exactly what we must do; get past the apparent difficulty, and the ability to ‘fix’ things will occur via supportive relationships and the receipt of timely resources (Venus opp Chiron).

On the 2nd we’d be wise to draw on lessons from the past, and specifically to use what we’ve learned to adjust our approach (especially in terms of what’s practical for us) to shape the future (Pallas qnx NN, Sun nov SN).

The 3rd sees Mercury station direct, and though that could signal a lightening of the thought processes and a general opening up of communications, it could just as easily still feel like a troublesome monkey sitting on your chest if you have anything close to 25 Libra or in hard aspect to that spot–‘when will it move?’ may be the only thing you can think. Ambition and power acquisition and/ or making an impact in our world are all on our minds (Merc parallel Zeus and Juno); take care not to be so distracted by goals that you neglect relationship or financial matters where others are counting on you (Venus qnx Uranus).

Oh! On the 4th our eyes are likely to still be on those aims and wants we were thinking about yesterday–but today we are empowered to go after them, despite the difficulties presented by a mind clouded by matters we’d rather ignore or are in denial of. Have confidence, in spite of the way the social order, or the actual facts of the matter, create problems for us, though be aware that too much focus on desire fulfillment just isn’t healthy. If you find yourself in a mental muddle, take a step back and give the mind a little time to clear–those same opportunities will still be there in the morning (Juno parallel and Jupiter sq Zeus, Merc contra-parallel BML, Sun sq Hygeia).

For the 5th our actions and options need to be consciously chosen in light of our actual empowerment situation–we can’t pretend to have more power, or less power, than we really do, and still expect to get a good, accurate result. Jealousy, a desire for love, greed, or a willingness to compromise values are all super-unwise–don’t even chance it (Mars qnx Juno, Venus contra-parallel Pallas).

Not quite a full week, I know. Looking for the Full Moon that led into this? It’s here– Stay sane, stay hopeful, dear Readers!

Astrology and the Supreme Court, Weekly Astrology, weekly forecast

‘Park in Autumn’ By
Michał Gorstkin-Wywiórski c1900 {{PD}}

Just a peek ahead at what to expect:

Today, the 26th, we have a Moon-Neptune conjunction by late PDT, but that’s not the thing that draws my attention; I’m concerned with a sextile of Pallas-Neptune, with Mars still close in square to Pallas. The Moon proceeding to conjunction with Neptune later today only adds emotion and possibly unsettling intuitions to what is already promised: unwise actions (Pallas sq Mars) based on delusion, fantasy, or misperception (Neptune). Add the Sun’s sesquiquadrate to Neptune, and we see that all eyes will be on an array of misbegotten, confusing, and downright untrue choices, actions and events–and all we can do is hope that a Venus trine to Sedna and quincunx Ceres, and Mercury sextile Vesta, will allow at least some of us to heed our own inner knowing and values (if we can accept our own authority), and avoid the illusory nature of what others may try to choose for us (I’m talking to you, US Senate, as against the will of the majority you go forward with a very unwise Supreme Court confirmation–and ‘unwise’ isn’t just my opinion; every single thing involved with this should warn them off proceeding, not just because of Mars and Mercury both retrograde, but also by the symbolism of the real-life super-spreader event that was her nomination announcement).

And almost immediately, those who chose to act on the 26th will have some regrets by the 27th! Let’s just say that some will suddenly realize what they’ve done, in two ways: it will become apparent that choices and actions actually conflict with highest values (Mars sesq Vesta), and that feedback from others puts the spotlight on what we’ve ignored or denied in order to get to this point (Venus and Mercury enter Libra, the latter opp Black Moon Lilith). Trusting our own personal sense of authority, honoring our right to be and to run our own lives, will allow for some inspiring and brilliant perceptions–and keep us out of the muck, for now (Pallas nov Ceres).

On the 28th standing in our own light, honoring ourselves as worthy, brings problems in relationships, but it must be done–even if it hurts (Venus qnx BML, Mercury trine Ceres, Sun contra-parallel Vesta, sesq NN, and qnx Chiron).

The 29th we’d be smart to allow things we’ve buried or hidden, even from ourselves, to inform (and so adjust) thinking. Right now the facts or even our beliefs will only take us so far–we need to see our world, warts and all, in order to succeed (BML parallel Sedna, Jupiter qnx NN, Merc qnx Sedna).

Friday the 30th we have a challenge before us: honor and accept who we are and the responsibilities we hold, especially those things that are unique and original to and about us–we excel in relationships and/ or financial matters if we do–or pay the psychological piper with inner discord if we don’t (Juno contra-parallel Sedna, Venus nov Juno, Sun contra-parallel Uranus).

On the 31st we have a Full Moon (report to follow in a separate post), and we’re offered a unique opportunity in a deja vu sort of way: again, if we will honor our uniqueness and autonomy, and the responsibilities to act with integrity and to create that these imbue us with, we can heal in important ways (Mars parallel Chiron, Sun opp Uranus).

It’s a week to act with integrity, to trust ourselves, and to refuse to be fooled or misled–so, like a regular week! Have a great one, and Happy Halloween thinning-of-the-veil!

Just some highlights for your perusal:

On the 4th we have a pair of aspects perfecting that are so subtle in effect that we may not realize it’s something other than our own touchiness making for upset: Chiron squares Vesta, putting a sense of woundedness in conflict with highest values–and when we feel aggrieved we end up looking for challenges to what we honor–or conversely, when we’re feeling righteous, we automatically see disagreement as a challenge to all we hold sacred, or maybe even that we insist our values are valid because they attract criticism–and that last is totally backward reasoning, so unreasonable! It’s an ugly quagmire of too much sensitivity plus too much surety that what we value should be what everyone else values, too. And this is supported, unfortunately, by Mars novile Neptune, which could channel creative efforts into inspired, even genius, ways and forms, as long as we don’t allow actions and choices to fall prey to illusions or delusions surrounding ideals–and where we keep our ideals is Vestal, making us susceptible to seeing things in a wounded light. Stay awake and aware, for best results.

The 5th sees the Superior Conjunction of Mercury and the Sun (that’s when they meet when Mercury is in direct apparent motion). Both quincunx Jupiter and Merc parallels Ceres, suggesting an extended moment of clarity that allows direct communication with or messages from Nature. We also have Juno opposed Zeus (ambitions and avenues for empowerment appear to be at odds) and Venus opposed Pluto (either we refuse to look at the dark or dangerous side to earning or relationships, or we find ourselves staring into the Void, mesmerized). Use the openness of the SC energy to get clear as well on our own wants and our interplay with others; focus on the light, or be overwhelmed perceptually.

On the 6th it’s all about the way Sun-Mercury squares Neptune and catches Uranus at the midpoint. This is prime time for ill-considered, erratic moves generated by misunderstanding (at best) or out-right deception (at worst). Luckily, Merc is parallel Venus and Neptune is contra-parallel Juno, with the two combined suggesting we ground our perceptions in our own capacity to act and affect things (in our circumstances of real-world empowerment) and in our values–keep these in mind and you won’t go wrong.

For the 7th our minds are on the prize, with thinking centered on what we want and how to get it (Merc trine Zeus and sextile Juno); at the same time we’re shown what’s not working to our advantage in the real-world power situation (Saturn sesq Ceres) and how our priorities and what we honor may actually be detrimental to us (Vesta sq Hygeia). Use these factors for the invaluable insights they offer, rather than as fodder for kvetching. The danger here is that we’ll fall back into old patterns of doing and choosing (Mars conj SN); it’s our duty to use what we’re offered to find our way forward, opening new doors and getting new views by opening windows we’ve never noticed before.

The 8th is lively, and mostly not in a good way. In spite of the way we are able to muster ourselves and our most unique qualities in support of our goals (especially those major, Sun-related ones) and those things we find important and honor (Uranus trine Vesta, Sun trine Zeus and parallel Ceres), we still find ourselves wrestling with the Powers-That-Be, with the dark and denied in relationships, and/ or with disparities between our thinking and our impulse to action, especially in regrets over how this has manifested in the past (Venus opp Black Moon Lilith, Merc sesq Mars and SN, and qnx Pluto). It’s our own minds, weighed down by guilt or sadness, that are our biggest impediments, closely followed by our own propensity to fight City Hall (in whatever form this takes). Stand down from your own aggressions, and you’re likely to find that you can make a lot of forward progress.

Have a great week, thanks for stopping by, and many thanks to those who offer this blog (and me!) their support–I couldn’t do it without you!

Just a Little AstroEssence 8-14 July 2015: Tiltin’

‘Le Moulin de la Galette’, by Vincent van Gogh, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

8 July we suddenly feel that everyone is a lot more caring–at least, that’s what they say, what they communicate–but our attention is likely on our own ambitions and wants, and how what we’re doing in the everyday is in conflict with achieving our goals. Actions should be based on ideals, and as long as we keep the ego out of it, we can’t be led astray or deceived–but be too Willful or aggressive, and you might find yourself tilting at windmills, Quixote-style.

Take note of the Earth-Pluto, still conjunct, and the way the Sun-Earth-Pluto forms a T-square with Zeus=at this point we may get a glimpse ahead to serious material change on the horizon, with our ambition and desire picture as the tipping factor; our desires propel the shift, which is likely generated through conflict, the need to resolve tension, or a breaking away from current direction in order to make a big, dramatic push toward getting what we want.

9 July temper, irritation, and the need to choose (probably over something we’ve been torn about for some time) come forward from our ‘blind spot’ and challenge our equilibrium. Instincts can inform the direction we take, but our usual weaknesses are still in place; that means that to succeed we’ll need to recognize that we’re not infallible, and then ask for help to fill in our own skill or knowledge gap. That’s the best bet for putting ourselves in a good position, from which we can then act in the most effective way possible.

10 July action and successful Self-assertion flow from wisdom and skills, and if we can communicate our own empowerment position, we can deal with any upset concerning current life direction (we should anticipate either criticism over our independence or leadership, and/ or a lack of cooperation from others). Determine your own course at this time, and be Self-responsible–it’s the only way to have control over outcomes.

11 July talk is about power, even if it doesn’t seem to be, and material matters may make us feel less than adequately empowered. Best results come when we stay both centered and calm, no matter what.

12 July we can draw on empowerment lessons of the past to inform our present, and erratic behavior, rebelliousness, and show-offy displays of intellect or educational heft earn us a punch in the nose (figuratively or literally) and send us reeling off course. Channel contrariness into original efforts, and don’t worry about whether those efforts are propelling you closer to goals–it’s time to indulge your unique spark, to celebrate your individuality, and to find a form for it that wreaks as little havoc as possible.

We enter Dark of the Moon today–giving ourselves a little more solitude, a little more time to do things, and a little more space for contemplation and rest will benefit everything we do, and prepare us for the New Moon new beginning ahead.

13 July we could experience difficult financial or relationship situations, and though mental processes are practically-oriented and even wise, they may not adequately honor those things we value most. Communications could be fanciful, mislead us, or inspire us, and we see precisely how to go about healing troubled situations. If we can find a way to re-orient ourselves to our highest standards, we can make valuable headway in fixing what might have gone wrong, with our pocketbook or our interactions.

14 July it’s the things we’ve been ignoring, denying, and generally shoving under the rug that trip us up today. Instinct whispers to avoid those matters but odds are we will ignore the warning and plow forward–and we find ourselves tiltin’ at windmills again. And, resulting actions and choices cause unintended havoc in the reality picture. Slow down and deal with things one at a time–and don’t leave unpleasant dealings for later–attend to them now.
