Crisis can bring unexpected things 'The Mermaid' by Pyle {{PD-Art}}

February Full Moon occurs at 12:35 AM PST on the 18th at 29 Leo 20. The Moon/ Earth conjunction is trine the North Node, opposed Chiron and Neptune, and sesquiquadrate Pallas. The dynamic is one of facing the primal wound, seeing how it has driven life choices and direction, how it may have shaped ideals, dreams, and fantasies, and adjusting according to what we know to be wise (or adjusting according to guidance obtained). It’s a very personal, synchronized set of contacts that can bring to a head questions about wounds, life direction, and the ‘smart’ choice that have been going on for some time; in fact, this may be couched in the form of a crisis, emergency, or pressure-filled ultimatum (29 degrees) in the areas signified by the natal House axis across which this Full Moon falls–luckily, we are automatically equipped to deal with what we’re handed–and in one way or another, this is the answer to something we’ve wanted settled for some time.

Full Moon, Moon in Cancer, My Daily Astrology Diary

A card deck from the French Revolution, with Kings replaced with thinkers from the past, Queens replaced with ideals

The Full Moon for January occurs at 1:21 PM PST on the 19th at 29 Cancer 27. My sense of this is that it’s almost more important than the New Moon eclipse was, as it promises, simply by its degree and aspect type, a culmination that is at a crisis stage. We have the tension of both the Sun/ Earth axis and the Moon–these are vital energies that are all in crisis at once–identity, Soul, and life-blood, material/ physical as well as our connection to the body, to sustenance and the shaping of our surroundings, and the emotional/ intuitive, with its facility for sensing, feeling, knowing, without words, images, or other cues. It says, in short, that the senses of the world will be one big open, well not wound, perhaps sense organ, would be a better designator, though exaggerated nerve would also do, considering that the Full Moon’s trine to Jupiter is within two minutes, and the trine to Jupiter’s long-time companion, Uranus, is within the two degree orb. This happens in the element of Water, making it even more feeling and sense-oriented than we might be able to imagine–it’s more like a dream, reflected by the quincunx the Full Moon makes to Neptune and his long-time companion, Chiron–and that takes the dream not just to an emotional level, but to a primitive one, where the primal Chirotic urge is stirred and the imagination, and the connection to the Cosmic and to the Collective, take it from there.

Juno is also involved, in sextile to the Moon, making it all hooked to empowerment, and giving that empowerment need a life-or-death feel, making it a demand. So what we have is likely an overwhelming emotional atmosphere that may make us feel frightened, wounded, lost, isolated (or conversely, lost in the vastness of the Cosmos or the Collective identity), fed to us through the mucous membranes, the nerves, though hallucinogens, alcohol, drugs, through dream or dream-like states, through illusion or fantasy, through the group experience, and all overlaid with the sense that this is an emergency, that we must feel effective.

The Sabian for the Earth/ Moon conjunction is ‘A Daughter of the American Revolution’  and the symbol for the Sun ‘A Secret Meeting of Men Responsible for Executive Decisions in World Affairs’ How does this translate for the individual?

Since we are all at the mercy of decisions made by those who hold the power, and anytime we don’t agree we are cast (besmirched) as some form of revolutionary (read: threat to the existing power structure, if only through our disapproval) then we may experience our own version of feeling (remember, this is a Full Moon at 29 degrees) brace yourself, inside the power structure. Even though we might logically think this would bring an experience of alienation and isolation (and undoubtedly for some, this will be the experience as they project a sense of elitism onto the world that surrounds them) it in fact will pinpoint our own revolutionary lineage–we find our place in the power elite, as the descendant of privilege–we find where we are in charge of the world, from whence we gain our power, we find our global power ‘clan’–and unexpected, emotion-charged, and sensation-filled will be our Full Moon experience.

ECLIPSE Readers, see the complete forecast explanation under ‘Pages’ at right–Water water everywhere (and some places, ice!) stay safe, and have a wonderful Full Moon!

November Full Moon Forecast: Empowerment Through Partnership

Full Moon, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary

November’s Full Moon occurs at 9:27 AM PST on the 21st at 29 Taurus 17. This is an anaretic degree, one that inherently carries a vibe of extreme stress. The Moon is, as always with a Full Moon, conjunct the Earth and opposed the Sun, and this month we see the suggestion that it is, in a psychic and spiritual sense, impossible for the emotions to contradict (oppose) the Soul identity–and yet, symbolically, they do.

This tension implies that any aspect in effect will be extraordinarily important, and when we use our strict 2 degree orb to determine what will be the message of the Full Moon, we find a quincunx of the Moon/ Earth to the just-direct Venus in Libra, who is so new in her movement that she is not yet even transiting at characteristic speed. Venus is at home, and ruler of the Moon at this point, setting up a dynamic that is highly intimate; the suggestion is that love and partnership, or our relationship to the Arts, is challenged to adjust to the emotional and material realities that surround us–and yet, with all ruled by the involved energy, it becomes extremely difficult to sort out clearly what that reality is–it is in danger of being vetted through a ‘love’ or ‘values’ lens that does not allow for objectivity.

We also find a Fist of God with the Moon/ Earth as apex, and a base of Cardinal square between Ceres and Saturn/ h. Zeus. This says that the Full Moon’s meaning manifests via a mechanism that is born of the conflict between elements of nature and/ or authority (Ceres) and the establishment/ tradition (Saturn) and/ or the desires and ambitions (h. Zeus) associated with ‘what is.’

astrology, Full Moon, Juno, Moon in Aries

There is a factor of revelation to this Full Moon, the kind that tells us, ‘You’d better choose, you need to realize it can’t go on as it has, you’d better sh*t or get off the pot’ It won’t be that crude, but it will be that direct; we will see something (likely hooked to the matters of the axis of the natal House where this occurs) that must be dealt with, decided, that must reach a conclusion of some sort. Since it occurs in Libra, in the anaretic 29th degree, the tension of conclusion/ culmination that is a natural part of a Full Moon doubles; add to this that there is likely to be involvement with one’s relationship(s) and/ or with one’s aesthetic output, and/ or with expression of Will and want, and we have a prescription for situations that could blow-up–though even in distress, these circumstances could retain the politesse and civilized veneer of Libra–no shouting, certainly no shoving, though watch out for the passive-aggressive mental (Air sign and Fire sign, both Cardinals) sucker-punch that will leave you reeling; while the opposing forces may do just that, force an already stressed issue (Aries). We may divide up into aggressors and victims (energy across the Aries/ Libra axis–and there are some of each on both sides) though the truth is it’s a co-operative dance, with no truly guilty parties and no true innocents, either; that’s something to keep in mind during the go ’round.

The point in time of the Full Moon is potentially a precipice–an abrupt edge, passing over which we experience radical change–but no one can say with any certainty whether this will be perceived as positive or negative. The Sabian for the Aries Full Moon is ‘A Duck Pond and its Brood’  This suggests to me that changes occurring now are aimed (guided perhaps by the Soul, by the Higher Self, by God, by the Universe) at putting one into one’s ‘right environment,’ to finding the tribe to which one belongs and to creative expression in its broadest sense. This points the way toward best use of the Full Moon tension, in resolution through co-operating with the ‘right’ others. The trick is in finding, recognizing, and accepting that one has found them, that one belongs to this particular group, and that through this function one may see things about oneself that the ego doesn’t find flattering. To this I say, if you haven’t already, it’s time to assign the ego a back seat–(relatively) easily done with the Full Moon culmination in that last degree of Aries.

Imagine coming upon this pond, knowing you will find your tribe here JFAuburtin {{PD-Art}}

Okay, so I’ve loosened up a bit with the strict orb thing–I’ll go 2.5 if it gives us clarity. What we have, then, is a single contact, a generous quincunx of the Sun to Uranus in Pisces. In this instance it’s an oblique path the Moon energy takes to meet up with the Rebellious One, but there it is: the choice may be either a break-out moment for the ego (that could alienate one from the group and leave previous ties suddenly severed, or at least in little relationship tatters), or it could be the impetus for the Aries Moon to work out its differences (the quincunx) and serve via energy and attention (the connection through the Sun) the group (Uranian) interests–subsuming the ego in order to engage in the ultimate form of co-operation.

ECLIPSE Readers: the ‘Cup’ is present for this Full Moon–with what will you fill it?

Get my new book on Juno, a must-have, if I do say so myself, for asteroid enthusiasts– http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com   Thank You! And have a wonderful Full Moon experience!

Olaus Magnus 1555 'On the Activities of People at Moonlight' {{PD-Art}}

The women were like beings made of moon milk, and their skin shimmered with little silver dots like those of the salmon in springtime, and the women’s feet and hands were long and graceful.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes Phd,  WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES

The Full Moon for September occurs at 2:17 AM PDT on the 23rd at 00 Aries 15–the Aries Point! In the most straightforward terms, the Aries Point is the slice of space/ time where spirit enters matter, the collision point of  all that is real and unseen with discernible material form. So, a big deal, as for the individual, this point in the flat chart of the natal horoscope designates the point at which the individual meshed the spirit and the physical as we know it; it’s the place where the Soul entered active engagement with the present lifetime. What does this mean for us when the transiting Full Moon coincides with what we might see as a doorway between spirit and material?

The occurrence of the Full Moon at the Aries Point may open a doorway to our origins, to the most fundamental expression of who we are, at that moment when we both took material form (birth) and still retained full consciousness of the Soul essence. The Sabian symbol for 0-1 Aries is: ‘A Woman Just Risen From the Sea; a Seal is Embracing Her’ This image brings to mind the Archetypal story of the Seal Woman who mates with a human male, has a child, and slowly loses her health–all because as she celebrated herself, a hunter saw, and took the sealskin she wore as her ‘true’ identity. The story is given form in ‘Sealskin, Soulskin,’ in Estes’ marvelous ‘Women Who Run With the Wolves.’ She divides the story (which is told in many cultures in many forms) into parts that I know  I can’t improve on, so we’ll look at each part and how it might relate to the Full Moon experience.

Since this is a Full Moon, we know we’re speaking of culmination, the rounding out of some part of our own story. First, there is a kind of initiation that comes through a loss, in one form or another, of the Soul. I think this can be equated to birth, represented by the Aries Point as the doorway; we can’t help but become disoriented, losing a bit of ourselves in the process. Then one ‘loses one’s pelt’ in earnest–we are trying to enjoy our new human form, but in celebrating this we set aside the Soul connectors we still retain, in order to fit in to the earthly realm. We substitute the values of the culture and our tribe, and though these are not completely alien, they do represent the values of consensus, and that means we lose our awareness of those things that make us unique; this loss is represented by ‘poor’ choice (and by that I mean the kind of choices we inevitably make in an attempt to regain that part of ourselves we sense we’ve forgotten) and the way we are lured by the things we think will provide our lack. So we are, like the Seal Woman, left naked and shivering as we search for our eternal Beingness.

Next there is communion with the hunter, the individual who has ‘taken’ our skin–of course, we don’t know that we are facing the thief. This is represented by any animus oriented energy to which we succumb: our own interior animus, our ego, or an external animus: a man, ambition, society’s definition of ‘making it.’ Note that though this story is told as a woman’s loss, this tragedy happens to men, as well; they lose their unique ‘Soul skin’ in an attempt to be the kind of man society (and perhaps the partner) demands, rather than the kind of man they are naturally. The ego and its particular form of vanity promises to fulfill us, to return to us that missing Soul piece, if we will only do its bidding–but this is just not true–it cannot return what it does not possess.

The woman, the entire time she has spent on dry land, has been hearing the call of the sea (her true environment) and has been conscious of her vibrational connection with her child, her spiritual ‘home,’ in a sense. This spirit child in the story is the child of the Seal Woman and the hunter who captured her by stealing her skin. This is representative of the pure, inner connection we retain to the Soul (it can be ‘the inner child,’ though I think it’s something much purer, the experience of the Soul rather than just the seed-manifestation of it), and it’s this element in the story that, agitated by its mother’s distress, stumbles out into the night and trips on the mother’s wrapped up Seal skin, finding and delivering back to the woman her true identity.

So, in all this we are seeing an Archetypal journey in miniature; the Full Moon presents us with the ability to re-acquaint ourselves with that moment when as Soul we slipped into flesh–and this is a vital point, as it is the one time in the incarnation experience (other than the moment of death) in which we can be fully aware of the enormity of who we are, and can re-connect so directly with it.

Using our strict orb, we see that the Sun/ Moon/ Earth makes only one aspect, a T-square with Pluto in Capricorn. Ah ha! Besides being able to glimpse in its purest form the Soul and its intentions on incarnating (in the Sabian, this is the seal embracing the woman, a return to the natural sensibilities), this Full Moon also offers the power (Pluto) to transform (Pluto) our own manifestation in the material (Capricorn). Since the inner is the outer, and the outer the inner, this means we can change anything on any level, with corresponding changes visible (or felt or realized) in the opposite venue.

In ECLIPSE I called this Full Moon “the true birth point of fated Cardinal action,” and outline the other influences in effect at the moment of Full Moon fulfillment that will act on our transformational choices. If you’re planning on getting this issue and you just haven’t yet, now’s the time http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/  The life long journey to empowerment is closely related to  the mini-empowerment we will be instituting with this Full Moon; see more on that here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com  in my new book on Juno. Thank you!

And have a wonderful Full Moon transformational experience!

Full Moon July 2010: Culminatous Interruptus

Full Moon, Moon in Aquarius, Sabian Symbols

The Full Moon for July occurs on the 25th at 6:36 PM Pacific time at 2 Aquarius 59. First we’ll look at it using our strict 2 degree orb for events, then we’ll expand our view slightly, and see if this might bring in other, more subtle factors.

The Moon/ Earth conjunction in Aquarius has only two aspects, a sextile to Jupiter in Aries, and a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn (and of course, the opposition to the Sun that is the reason for the event in the first place!) A meeting of Moon and Earth in a sign that’s all about cerebral concepts is not a great fit; the emotions and intuition ‘ground’ themselves in the material environment–an excellent concept in itself, connecting the emotions and extrasensory input to the physical surroundings, creating an understanding that is greater than its parts–but the sign in which this occurs, Aquarius, is mental, rather than intuitive, and doesn’t get any more physical than electricity, itself essentially invisible. That means our Moon/ Earth meeting, a time when the combination of these most ephemeral attributes in interplay with our material world should be coming to intuitive and emotional culmination through both the spirit and material results, will likely not reach a fulfilling conclusion, not because this isn’t available, but because we will try to translate things through the mind (Aquarius) only; there will be influences from our own dark or practical nature and from external destructive forces (Pluto in Cap) and pressure from the social sphere to perceive things in a particular manner that emphasizes ego fulfillment and separateness (the ‘I am society, and society is me’ of Jupiter in Aries).

What if we widen our orb? Does this make anything about the situation any clearer (or, what we’re really looking for, does it give us a way out of an inevitable misperception?) If we widen our orb to 3 degrees, we bring in a sextile to Uranus at the Aries Point, and a trine to Saturn in Libra. Hmm, this may help us pinpoint ‘trouble sources’ that could be what tries to push us in the wrong direction for a successful intuitive/ spiritual/ material culmination. The sextile to Uranus suggests, perhaps, two things: one, that our own rebellious nature, intellectual bent, Higher Mind, or wish to be different might steer us wrong–or, two, that a group or social cataclysm (not necessarily a disaster, but rather a group demand) might come forward and in effect disconnect us from our own intuitive nature–and so disconnect us from our chance to gain a sense of fulfillment and closure from this Full Moon moment. The trine to Saturn in the sign of partnership is amusing in this context: we may dig in our heels in a relationship that is just over, and that normally would be brought to an end with the energy offered by a Full Moon.

The Sabian for the Full Moon is ‘A Deserter from the Navy’–are we surprised? This is the abandonment of a cause by the most martial of water bearers–the individual who runs from something (in this day and age) to which he or she has quite willingly committed him- or herself. This suggests, in light of the Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto aspects, that the individual destructive and rebellious urges may win out, though with some caveats. Just because one runs away from the group doesn’t mean they are no longer a member–truly severing ties is quite different from the symbolic act, or the simply rebellious one. This may symbolize that ‘the ties that bind,’ which might normally end with this Full Moon, may drag on, with plenty of pointless rebellions, incidents of lashing out for freedom, and ‘pretend’ destructive or transformative episodes as a result.

The end of something may feel premature at this point; or, we just may not be done acting out, making our intellectual point to the other party or to the group. The energy is best handled with the understanding that the mentality is too active in the decision-making process to provide a truly accurate picture–and as long as we know that, we can accept that the rationalizing and reasoning that we may be inclined to will not get us to the heart of the matter. Understanding (Aquarius) that we are at a kind of midpoint, rather than a culmination, at least in energy terms, will help us embrace the positive portions of the Full Moon process (which strongly support mental accomplishment, original creative acts, and innovative activities) while minimizing the more dramatic, disaffected, or chaotic influences to our response.

Warning: the title is not a real Latin phrase–like in the old Roadrunner cartoons, I believe everything goes better with a sophisticated seeming taxonomic designation!

Lunar Eclipse 26 June 2010: Partial Eclipse, Complete Transformation

25 Friday Jun 2010

eclipse, Lunar Eclipse

A partial Lunar eclipse in Capricorn begins at 4:30 AM PDT on the 26th at 4 Capricorn 46. I cover a couple of configurations active at the eclipse here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ and this info concentrates in particular on the dynamics we can expect; here we’ll talk about the most arresting aspect of the eclipse, the Earth/ Moon/ Pluto line-up with only 41 minutes separation, along with the other aspects that fall into our 2 degree orb. This conclave in Capricorn is startling; how can we have a culmination (Full Moon) that is also either a wipe-out or an experience of total transformation?

If we think of it like this, it makes sense: bringing matters of the House axis across which this eclipse falls (and particularly in the House where the Moon/ Earth falls) to a moment of culmination, to a conclusion or point of determination where we can say, “This is what it is, this is what we have, this is how it ends,” will bring its own new material view/ view of reality, one that transforms the subject at hand into something utterly and entirely different. The conclusion of one event, progression, or situation births another–it rises like the phoenix from the ashes of what came before, and because of what came before we are prepared to see it in a whole new way.

The Sabian for this degree is: ‘Indians on the Warpath. While Some Men Row a Well-Filled Canoe, Others In It Perform a War Dance.’ This suggests that the eclipse brings about a very particular attitude, one that is so strongly felt that aggression (or at least unequivocal assertion) is the proposed course of action. This attitude is taken by people well-equipped to wage war on/ let their attitudes be known to others, and there is no hesitancy in letting everyone know that this is the intent–though you’ll notice, no ‘war’ is actually being engaged in; this is bluster, hype, threats, a cry of ‘look how serious we are!’–and that implies that the intent is really to transform the playing field, to change the way others regard us, to be taken seriously.

The other aspects that fall within our orb measurement that figure in to this are an opposition to the Moon by Mercury, and the eclipse axis plus Mercury and Pluto create a T-square with Jupiter in Aries. This gives us more hints about meaning: we really are trying to communicate something quite distinct about who we are (Mercury conjunct the Sun), and we are willing to exaggerate to get our message across (Jupiter). The point is to broadcast an image that makes ‘them’ take ‘us’ more seriously ; the point is not to engage in an actual war, only to threaten this kind of all-out effort, in which consequences cannot be anticipated and destruction of some kind is almost guaranteed. (Note that Merc and Jupiter are both slightly more than 2 degrees from aspect but as always, the chart must be assessed as a whole, with necessary leeway granted in order to make sense of the Big Picture).

The eclipse makes one other aspect, with Moon/ Earth/ Pluto sextile Pallas. This tells us something that may be rather surprising about this image of broadcast aggressive intent: it’s a smart thing to do. Our own wisdom prompts us to make this noise, to beat this particular drum in this particular way, and it’s good that we do. Part of gaining the respect of others is that we are considered skilled and worthy Beings capable of effecting our surroundings–each of us needs this kind of regard, and built in to it is a certain animal response: we do not respect those who don’t have an effect on things or on us, and this is not a matter of physicality so much as a matter of the energy of the spirit as it reaches out to the spirits of others. It is the respect of one living thing recognizing the spark in another, and it’s this impression we’re seeking to make.

Today’s Link: I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the Self-development exercises offered by Kelly Beard http://karmictools.com/EnergyoftheMonth.html Her audio offerings in particular are outstanding; you will be impressed by the depth and detail of her work and enlightened on so many of the ways unused or misdirected energies may make themselves felt.  Please explore her world, and treat her generously–you’ll be glad you did!

Sagittarius Full Moon 27 May 2010: Cupid’s Arrow

Cupid, Eros, Full Moon, Sagttarius Full Moon

Earth and Moon conjunct at 4:06 PM PDT on the 27th at 6 Sagittarius 32, and once again *sigh* there’s none of the close aspecting (major aspects within 2 degrees) that makes for a sharp Full Moon picture; we’re thrown back on the Sabian symbol for imagery, ‘Cupid Knocks at the Door of a Human Heart’ http://www.cafeastrology.com/sabiansymbols_degreemeanings.html This is evocative of Love, with a Big ‘L,’ that comes a callin’–for hasn’t the Roman version of Eros changed his image from a big, strapping, virile young man, doing his mother’s bidding, screwing up (by infecting himself with his own ‘poisoned’ arrow), and falling in love with the most beautiful mortal around, into a cherub whose angelic demeanor and tiny, heart-shaped arrows take the beginning of love from a compelling erotic impulse to a cartoon of harmless infatuation? Do I think the Romans ruined Eros when they turned him into an aggressive, banner-wearing infant? You bet I do.

Though, to be fair, I think Cupid’s sanitization happened well after Roman times, the damage began early with the separation of the erotic (which is the attachment of the desire nature to a person or thing–literally, their objectification as a sexual outlet) and the romantic impulse of attraction, which is a nebulous ‘specialness’ we project on another, and we’re still suffering the price, with the erotic impulse seen as both x-rated and completely separate from the romantic one in popular culture. So what does the Sabian for this Full Moon imply? It suggests that a romantic impulse, which is really an impulse to acceptance and openness, is being offered to each one of us. Considering that this is a Full Moon, the realization may be about love that’s been available to us all along and which is now culminating in our ability to perceive and receive it.

The Scorpio Full Moon 28 April 2010

April Full Moon, Inferior Conjunction, Scorpio Full Moon

This month’s Full Moon occurs at 5:18 AM PDT on the 28th at 8 Scorpio 06, and the first thing we notice is that this coincides with the Inferior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury in its retrograde course. This makes this Moon, symbolically, both an energy culmination and an energy seed point (‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ for April Full Moon in ECLIPSE adds a bit of detail to this dual energy–and right here I should apologize to readers as the time cited in ECLIPSE is one hour off–I didn’t leap forward!); endings, then, will be Scorpionic, while beginnings will be Taurean, linked to the Sun’s position as it meets Mercury. The Sun’s Sabian, ‘A Fully Decorated Christmas Tree,’ implies that a life symbol, adapted from various systems (the Druidic, the nature cults) to another (Christian), takes on its own meaning as it represents tradition, the significance of the tree devoid of many of the specifics from which it sprang; this symbol also suggests the notions that rest behind the custom of placing delicate and beautiful objects on this representative of everlasting life (of the spirit in its most natural form), showing the way mankind may add her own theories about life and existence to what is essentially unchanging. So, the beginnings we encounter for the Full Moon period will, in some way, recognize that the spirit is unchanging, eternal, and that there are ways offered through our culture (tradition) for us to deal with, ritualize, and incorporate change and new developments into our lives (and these will be material–Taurus). The presence of Merc retro marks this as a seed time for something that will develop through to the Superior Conjunction (the conjunction of the Sun and Mercury when Mercury is direct), and this matter will directly link to (or demand from us) recognition of the persistent and consistent nature of the core spirit (Soul).

Of course, this seeding takes place simultaneous to the culmination we expect from a Full Moon. The Moon’s Sabian is ‘A Dentist at Work.’ This image suggests a trained individual applying skills in the appropriate situation (we’ll assume this dentist is doing his or her dentist-thing in her or his office!) This is, perhaps surprisingly, an image of doing, of application of knowledge and experience in the right place. When we check the Full Moon chart using our strict 2 degree orb, we find only one aspect to the Moon/ Earth conjunction: a quincunx to Juno. This helps; it tells us that this Moon promises that correct application of our skills (for this is the very thing that empowers Juno, using her skills in the right way in the right situation) will give an appropriate result, a resolution of some kind, which will bestow a sense of empowerment and positive feelings (the Scorpio Water placement).

We are left then with two branches to this Moon energy, one of which is the unusual instance of a beginning, usually reserved for the New Moon. There is the suggestion in all this of a step up in the challenges we will face, in more skills being required and more efforts made at the same time; where previously we would face a difficulty, now we’ll be handed two. And we have the strength and abilities to deal with it.

Sticking to my strict 2 degree orb for lunation events, we find no aspects made by the Moon/ Earth and Sun, putting all the burden of meaning on where in the natal chart the Full Moon falls, and what aspects it might make to natal placments, and this implies a very personal effect. We can look to the Sabian symbol  for the degree for clues as to manifestation http://www.cafeastrology.com/sabiansymbols_degreemeanings.html This is a calming influence, after the tumult of the days trying aspects: ‘Having Passed Through Narrow Rapids, a Canoe Reaches Calm Waters’ Calm waters suggest a tranquility that naturally fosters contemplation, and contemplation in Libra means thinking about (Air sign) partnership. Any ways that we share with others can be successfully examined through a placid emotional lens. We may become very aware of the state of the partnership, and can acess a calm and reasonable core that allows us to be fully responsive and responsible. If this Full Moon happens to make other contacts to the natal factors, we will find these energies stimulated by the Full Moon and brought forward in whatever state they relate to partnership in the current life situation–so they, and our reactions, can run the gamut.

Wondering about April? The forecast is still available, along with in-depth articles on the asteroid Zeus, interceptions, and two of the most influential monarchs in British history, here in the current issue of ‘ECLIPSE’ http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

Today’s Link: There are lots of great Full Moon forecasts out there; here’s one from Neith http://libraseekingbalance.com/archives/2569 and Stephanie takes it on here http://planetaryapothecary.com/2010/03/arieslibra-full-moon/ Take a look at Verena’s assessment, too http://verenadonath.wordpress.com/2010/03/29/libra-full-moon-2010/
