The Essence for 7 July 2011: A Love Formula

By 5:30 AM Pacific, the Moon is not only square Pluto, and still square Venus, forming a Cardinal T-square, but the Lunar energy is also the apex of a Finger of God with base of Jupiter sextile Chiron. The T puts the emotions and intuitions under a strain: there is a contest internally (and perhaps playing out externally, too) about wanting to love v. wanting to destroy or obliterate; the Finger then tells us that the expansion of the primal wound holds one emotional answer, while the expansion of the Chirotic skill or willingness to heal offers another–and one or both of these will also resolve the tension of the T, causing us in essence to choose one side (Love) or the other (Destruction or Power). Resolving this challenge may easily carry through the day and reverberate long after that.

The Essence for 6 July 2011: Observe But Don’t Act

If we can just bide our time for a bit . . . 'Nono and a guitar' by Lebasque c.1910 {{PD-Art}}

By 9:30 AM PDT the Moon is conjunct Juno and square the Nodal axis. We want to be empowered, we want to effect the life direction, and yet . . . the emotions are too attached to what is, to material results and solid means of changing things. We want to feel the effectiveness–and that’s just not reasonable with emotional and intuitive energies. This may (mis-)lead some in the wrong empowerment direction, so insistent are they on making progress, but we’d all be better off showing restraint–as it is, we can get a good vantage of both where we’ve been and where we’re going–the problem is that empowerment options seem at odds with the chosen direction. Observing but not acting is the key.

Void begins 8:12 PM PDT. The Moon enters Libra at 8:54 PM Pacific time. The first aspect is, of course, a quincunx to Neptune that says we may face deception, idealism, fantasy, delusions, or the fruits of creativity, likely presented to us by a partner or through aesthetics (Libra). What do we do? Adjust, of course! This does seem an interim marker; take note of what we experience here, as it’s indicative of a growing trend–and may signal coming events along these same lines.

The Essence for 5 July 2011: Adjusting to What’s Wise, Adjusting to What’s Sacred

'The Temple of Minerva' by Miller 1829 {{PD-Art}}

2:30 PM Pacific the Moon quincunxes Pallas; the emotional outlook must adjust to what we know is wise. This is a good moment to re-align our perceptions, as it will be very clear in what way we’re off base. 4:30 PM the Moon trines Earth/ sextiles the Sun, and we get an effective grounding through the emotional perceptions or through the intuition. Just after midnight the Moon quincunxes Vesta, requiring emotional adjustment in honor of those things we find most sacred–we may need to curb the emotional reaction in response to events in the home or in intimate relationship, in order to preserve what we have built and value.

Happy Birthday, USA! I hear you’re having a Pluto Return. Since no human gets one of those, it’s hard for we mortals to relate to just what might happen–after all, we have no frame of reference, but we can guess that this might be a doozy, with massive change to all that we’ve established. A new Self-image for the US of A is almost certainly on the table–the big question might really be, what will we become?

Just before 5 PM Pacific the Moon quincunxes Ceres, both at 29 degrees. This may bring a major need to de-stress; everyone needs to feel they’re their own authority (that’s natural and reasonable) but the thing is we may be feeling this factor strongly with others, too–we are too aware of the authority they hold, and we react as if they’re wielding it, and we’re threatened, whether they are or not. Not exactly a party atmosphere, for all the US 4th celebrators! The best we can do is make a conscious and ongoing effort to realize that, in the vast majority of interactions, no threat to our personal sovereignty is involved. It’s really just a matter of keeping reasonable perspective, which may be nigh on impossible :(

The Essence for 3 July 2011: Put A Lid On It

8 AM Pacific brings the Moon sextile Saturn; we put a lid on it, and that’s good, right now. Time to pull back, sit down, and maybe just listen. Just before 10 AM PDT the Moon quincunxes Earth–now we see why pulling back was a good idea: we’ll get intuitive or feeling ‘information’ on the material situation–and with our emotions ‘stilled’ by the Saturn contact, we’re capable of receiving it loud and clear. If you find yourself confused at this point, it suggests something other than intuitive knowledge is being input–most likely from someone hoping to steer you in the direction they want you to go.

By 11:30 AM PDT the Moon opposes Pallas and sextiles h.Zeus. This may put us in a bad spot: the emotions and intuition are, at this time, resistant to and separate from what we know to be wise, yet the ambitions and desires are stirred–a recipe for bad decisions. Being aware (if you choose not to give in to temptation) is all that’s needed here.

The Essence for 2 July 2011: Riding the Wave

A quincunx of the Moon to the North Node just after 2 AM PDT makes for a point where the current emotional perceptions meet future ones–should be at least disorienting, at most revelatory–and if you’re asleep at this time, place close tabs on your dreams–they’re worth dissecting at this time.

Final aspect for our Cancer Moon comes at 12 PM PDT with a trine to Ceres in Water, at 29 degrees. This may be the boiling (or evaporating!) point for our emotional journey post-eclipse. It’s a wave–and we ride it, rise above it, or get swamped–reading this, you probably have a sense of which it will be for you, so prepare.

The Essence for the 1 July 2011 Solar Eclipse: A Diamond’s Potential

We start July off with, what else? That third eclipse! It’s a Solar (New Moon) eclipse, at 9 Cancer 12 on July 1st at 1:53 AM Pacific Time. As usual, we stick to a tight, 2 degree maximum orb–but are overruled by a compelling configuration.

Though it’s slightly outside our usual parameters, the fact that this is an eclipse begs for the inclusion of a Grand Cross, made up of the Sun/ Moon combination opposed Earth/ Pluto, squared by the Saturn/ Uranus opposition; no other bodies fall within our strict two degree, major aspect rule. What does this indicate?

The most obvious implication is that the eclipse kicks off a Cardinal Cross ‘crisis’–but crisis just means some combination of stress, opportunity, and action–the important part might be that, with the Sun/ Moon filling in the Cardinal T-square to a Grand Cross, it funnels the power and energy of an eclipse into an extant aspect–and possibly blows it up.

The most likely manifestation dynamic is this: the crisis will be set off by some matter of the House in the natal chart where the eclipse itself falls; this will in turn ‘light up’ the Cardinal T. In the most general terms, we are likely to see in our lives change to structures, rules, or boundaries and/ or partnerships that seemed permanent or permanently stuck in the present form, with the ‘revolution’ driven by a unique expression of Self-Will, or by the way the individual is compelled by the group.

The Sabian for the eclipse degree is: ‘A Large Diamond in the First Stages of the Cutting Process’ This suggests it’s either the start of a process that will bring forward some facet of ourselves we’ve never before known we possessed or it will bring forward a new matter (or life situation or structure, possibly in relationship) about which we will care in a major way (Cancer placement).

The Essence for 30 June 2011: Washed Away

We may feel engulfed in emotion today. 'The Siren' by Waterhouse c.1900 {{PD-Art}}

The Void begins at 7:01 AM PDT of the 30th. The Moon enters Cancer at 9:13 AM PDT, and of course trines Watery Neptune. The atmosphere may be overwhelmingly emotional; expect to cry at the drop of a hat. Avoid puppies, babies, and old lovers if you want to keep your composure :)

5 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Jupiter, squares Uranus, and trines Chiron. Considering the way tears will have (at least figuratively) been near-spilling from our sad, clown-in-a-velvet painting eyes all day, this influence may send us over the top in so many ways. There’s the potential for exaggeration of everything we’re feeling, a lashing out or emotionally charged rebellion against anything (especially a faceless ‘group’) that thwarts us, and it’s oh-so-easy to feel hurt. This period carries all the hazards of floodwaters: we can get swept away, see foundations washed from beneath us, and see our aspirations (and relationships) drowned right before our eyes. Take care. There will be a handful (probably very Airy types) who will seem to float above it all–good for you! Just take care that you don’t miss some huge emotional revelations or emotionally telling moments, as all this feeling can give us some rare and lovely opportunities to connect.

Get the latest ECLIPSE, featuring ‘The Sea Inside,’ on transits and cycles, ‘The Extraordinary Healer’ on herbalists Pinkham and Culpeper, the complete Solar Eclipse Forecast for 1 July, and the forecast through to the next Full Moon. Order, buttons at right! Thank You!

The Essence for 29 June 2011: Dodge the Anima, Indulge in Nostalgia

Tags

There'll be an Anima with her eye on you today, and she won't be shy about staking out her territory. By Rincklake 1792 {{PD-Art}}

6:30 PM PDT the Moon squares Juno, and we may find ourselves in emotional conflict with an authority figure, specifically one who has a point to prove about her status, power, or position. Sidestep this anima (which can belong to a man or a woman) if possible; whatever you do, don’t try to talk your way around this upset, as ‘she’ will lay down the law, and perhaps dissect you in the process! The best approach might be to interact respectfully and give this Juno energy a wide berth.

8:30 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts the South Node; a trip down memory lane, talking about things we may have thought we’d forgotten, or words that ‘bring it all back’ are on the menu. You may want to indulge in something you haven’t done in a long time–it’s probably okay, though you may be just as happy only talking (or thinking, or even writing) about what was.

To see it all, subscribe! Buy today and receive the current issue with both June eclipses, and get the upcoming issue (available sometime Wednesday, Pacific time) that covers the final eclipse of the set on July 1st! Buttons at right–Thanks!

The Essence for 28 June 2011: Who’s Raining on Your Parade?

Tags

Bridgman 1902

Just before 8 PM PDT the Moon trines Saturn, and effectively creates a Grand Trine with Pallas in Aquarius. This offers a tremendously effective stabilizing influence, calming the mind and bringing the emotions ‘down to earth.’ This lasts through the evening, Pacific time, though around 11:30 PM PDT the Moon’s movement brings h.Zeus into the mix, and calls forward desires and ambitions–and either makes us feel they are truly within reach, or squashes them, and others (Saturn and h.Zeus in Libra) come forward to tell us how they just won’t fly. Take note of who’s raining on your parade, and then nurture that desire–your chances of fulfillment are as good as they ever were, but now you’re a little more solidly hooked to reality, making the path to realization that much easier to see.

To see it all, subscribe, buttons at right–thanks! New issue should be out no later than Wednesday, the 29th.
