Just a Little AstroEssence for Your Weekend: ‘Opening the Door’

‘Leaving the Studio’ Paxton 1921 {{PD-Art}}

For Friday the 16th:

2 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Pluto, inviting an emotional purge, especially one centered on the things we feel restricted by (Capricorn). A few will use the emotions or intuition to gain power or to destroy, while a handful of others may see a way to transform either the emotional approach or the matters of the House with Cancer on the cusp–if this is you, believe what you see in the ‘doorway’, and step through.

Saturday the 17th:

November 17th the Sun and Mercury meet up in Inferior Conjunction (the meeting that occurs when Merc is retro), and both conjunct the North Node; Mars also sextiles Neptune. This may plant a seed that is specifically oriented toward creative action, either in matters of the House where the Sun-Merc-NN falls (25-26 Scorpio) or in matters of a generally Scorpionic nature–so things that involve research, secrets, mysteries, emotional depths, destruction, re-birth, transformation–and these latter can be of materials or individuals who change or re-make themselves in some way, especially in matters of feeling and ‘heart’. We likely get an energy boost, and start something intense and meaningful to us personally–and perhaps of import to others, as well.

And for Sunday the 18th:

Around 4:30 AM PST the Moon hits the midpoint of Neptune-Mars, which should illuminate, through feeling or intuition, those creative acts, choices, and moves we spawned yesterday. It’s a chance to course-correct so that the whole psyche can support our efforts. 1PM PST the Moon squares Saturn; we either find we need to contain the emotions or we find ourselves hitting a brick wall in the feeling department. Either way it’s almost an invitation to stop trying to navigate everything emotionally, and tune up logic and pure reason–Moon in Aquarius will support this, and we’ll get a fresh, and likely needed, perspective.

See everything–have it delivered to your inbox every Thursday–subscribe to ECLIPSE!

Just a Little AstroEssence for Your Weekend 21-23 September 2012: ‘It All Feels a Little ‘Alice”

‘A Mad Tea Party’ One of a series of brilliant illustrations Arthur Rackham 1907 {{PD}}

The 21st of September is a rough day for successful communication: Mercury sesquiquadrates Sedna, suggesting that much of what’s communicated is done without any awareness of what’s truly shared, and the Sun-Earth axis creates a T-square with Ceres, making for an ongoing atmosphere of tension between those who believe they should hold power and command, and the material reality, ‘what is’.

On the 22nd:

Void begins at 11:07 AM PDT; the Moon enters Capricorn at 12:21 PM PDT.

Immediately the Moon creates a T-square with the Sun-Earth axis and sextiles Neptune. We could feel put on the spot, facing a bit of a crisis, and creativity, imagination, or some careful dissembling (not lying, exactly, more like diplomatically avoiding the hard-line Capricorn reality) may be the way out. Keep in mind that just because someone applies pressure, it doesn’t mean we are under some kind of obligation to respond to it.

And the 23rd promises:

The Sun in Libra wants to co-operate, to shine a light on what may be deceptive, hidden in fog, mysterious, illusive, imaginative, creative, dreamlike–and Neptune will have none of it, pulling his Piscean curtain of fog and mirrors and video installations and shimmery, shiny things even tighter. This may feel like, hard as we try to see the facts, the ‘Truth’, or how to assemble the creative alternative, we may be left with little concrete or understandable to grasp. It all may feel a little ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

‘The Swing’ Weguelin 1893 {{PD-Art}}

July 31st brings us Venus trine Saturn; we can take what we gained from yesterday and make it permanent, make it real. Don’t hesitate–you deserve this.

1:30 AM PDT the Moon squares Mars; we are angry at our own assertiveness, aggression, or purely at our needs. That’s not reasonable; show your Mars some love.

1:30 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Juno, unexpectedly empowering us through emotions; by 3 PM PDT the Moon trines Sedna, and we forget the beauty of the emotional support of our own empowerment–in fact, we feel nothing at all but pressure (Moon square Saturn). By 5 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Venus, and we realize our recent ups and downs have taken a toll. At this point, kindness to ourselves and others is a must.

Void begins at 5:25 PM PDT; the Moon enters Aquarius at 2:56 AM PDT August 1st.

For the complete forecast, please subscribe to ECLIPSE. Just to let you know, starting 3 August I will be on extended leave; ECLIPSE subscribers will still receive the whole forecast in their email as usual, but I will not be posting here on the blog again until late in the month. I need to take some time to finish the Vesta book, which goes free to all subscribers when it’s done! Order, and stay up to date!

The Capricorn Full Moon 3 July 2012: ‘A Litmus Test of Our Ambitions’

Thanks, NASA!

The Capricorn Full Moon: A Litmus Test of Our Ambitions

The Capricorn Full Moon drops into our laps at 11:51 AM PDT of the 3rd of July at 12 Capricorn 13, and oh, following our rule of 2 (and sometimes 3) degree orbs only, we find a single, striking aspect: the Sun-Moon-Earth axis makes a Cardinal T-square with asteroid Zeus–and that’s it.

The Sabian for the Moon-Earth is, ‘A Fire Worshipper Meditates on the Ultimate Realities of Existence’

What we are faced with at the Capricorn Full Moon is a culmination concerning fulfilling our ambitions or desires; the Full Moon shows us either the dilemma we will face if they are granted, or the internal conflict in which we will be embroiled if we do not see them succeed. We are the Fire Worshipper of the image, superstitiously believing that action (Fire) is all that’s required–but we are left pondering the true complexity of things in the results that manifest. Getting our ambitions fulfilled causes us to think about how the Universe works, and what is the point of existence, as does not getting our desires met. Either way, we may be faced with wondering what it’s all for–which should make us question the importance of those ambitions, after all.

Just a Little Weekend AstroEssence for 16-18 March 2012: ‘Conflict, Communion, Choice’

A Communion Portrait by Bastien-Lepage 1875 {{PD-Art}}

For Friday, the 16th:

3 PM PDT the Capricorn Moon squares Ceres; could indicate a conflict of female v. female, or very specifically, two mothers (or two spirits who have generated something unique and personal to themselves, and find themselves at odds). Issues of power, domain, and authority are parsed.

For Saturday, the 17th:

11:30 PM PDT the Aquarian Moon trines the South Node and creates a Finger of God with apex Mars and base of Moon/ Vesta. The past inspires us, perhaps even mesmerizes us, and may fuel the dedication of the emotional nature to our Highest Ideals, home, and/ or mate, which leads to successful (albeit muted, with the retro of Mars) action. This may not start out so great, in a nostalgic haze, but could end up making for a lovely interlude of communion and tenderness, where we are able to appreciate what gives us our emotional security in a rare and affecting way.

And for Sunday, the 18th:

11 AM PDT the Moon trines Zeus and squares Venus, suggesting that we’ll be given a chance to see just where fulfilling ambitions and wants will cost us. Or, dissonance in relationships or finances stirs us to get out there and work to make ambitions a reality. Or, following our desire nature (read ‘lust’) will put us into relationship conflict. Your choice.

Just a Little Lunar Essence for Today 15 March 2012: ‘Old Messages, Old Hurts’

By Heath, from ‘Andersen’s Fairy Tales’ 1913 {{PD-Art}}

Just before 2 PM Pacific the Capricorn Moon semi-sextiles Juno and sextiles Chiron while squaring Mercury; we are made to feel we must take a step toward empowerment, but fear it may be easy to hurt ourselves and/or others. We don’t like these thoughts, but they are compulsory; what we need to know is that this is actually a review of old material, and perhaps old messages and old hurts. Though they may apply in the now (and be couched in current forms), they are echoes–so simply review without feeling compelled to do anything.

5:30 PM PST the Moon squares Vesta and quincunxes the South Node. We find reasons to repudiate our own Highest Values, or our home or intimate partner, and they are generally old saws we’ve used in the past. What are we thinking?! Thanks to Merc retro and current Moon ruler Saturn also on the backward burn, we’re not. Remember that question we’re asking for Merc retro,’What am I doing?’ Please take a short walk every time you’re tempted to throw your standards or a loved one under the bus.

Please subscribe to get it all!

Is it just me, or does that one rock look like a foot with some creative lookin’ toes?

Just before 5 AM PST the Capricorn Moon trines Mars, and it may be very easy to accomplish–the Moon and Mars co-operate in Earth, and we can make sizable headway at this time.

Just before noon the Moon trines Sedna, and ‘I don’t know how I feel!’ becomes the refrain. Don’t fight it–it’s a time to just let things slide, and don’t work to pinpoint feelings–they are slippery things that will not be caged at this point.

'A Wall in Naples' Mauer 1782 {{PD-Art}}

Just before 1 AM PST the Capricorn Moon squares Uranus, perhaps making us ill at ease with the unusual, especially if we find it within ourselves. We may have the urge to do something about it (Cardinal placements)–but what? We are likely to suppress suppress suppress, but if we experience discomfort the best answer may be to face it and see it for what it really is: the bogey man of judgment. This may act as a reminder to let go of our most strenuous preconceptions.

7:30 AM PST the Moon sextiles Mercury: we may have emotional barriers up (Moon in Cap), but at this point communications can flow around these (Merc in Pisces). The engulfing nature of what’s shared, and the pure sensation of feeling available through communications, makes up for the stiff upper lip persona of the Moon right now. Those with superb emotional control (or intuitive acuity) can shape the Merc influence to bring an experience to themselves and others of strong emotional impact and deep understanding/ knowing.

Just a Little Weekend Lunar Essence 21-22 January 2012: ‘Magic Touch’

'Fish magic' by one of my favorites, Paul Klee 1925 {{PD-Art}}

For the 21st: 4 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Pluto. The emotions run deep, intense, and can be plumbed in such a way that they can be re-invigorated and rejuvenated–we come out the other side of this transit renewed, if we don’t fall to our own temptation to be overly critical, which only makes us want to destroy our ‘bad’ feelings (either ‘forbidden’ ones or ones that literally make us feel bad!) Don’t trash anything at this time–even the basic framework of our lives is threatened, by none other than ourselves, fueled by discomfiting emotion–channel the energy into transformation–you can call the shots on change and do it your way at this time. It’s particularly important that you take care in wielding this energy as there is a simultaneous sextile Moon to Venus that endangers what we care about, as well as our resources–there’s a real danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater–so don’t! If you’re not happy with your financial or love situation, though, you can make changes at this point that can make a difference, if not felt immediately, then very soon thereafter.

For the 22nd: 3 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Mercury. There’s no mistaking that communications are firmly related to the reality picture at this time; they may, however, give us the idea that things are more restricted and grim than they really are. Too much focus on ‘what is’, rules and regulations, and the reality of things in the now can quash our dreams. Take a step back and regard reality with a jaded eye, knowing that what you don’t see is just as important.

Just post 5 PM PST the Moon squares Saturn and semi-sextiles Neptune, offering a reality check and the imagination-power to re-create anything we aren’t happy with more to our liking. We have a kind of ‘Magic Touch’ at this time–use it! Void begins (relative to Saturn, not Neptune) at 5:39 PM PST; the Moon enters Aquarius at 6:53 PM PST.

Just a Little Lunar Essence for Today 24 December 2011: ‘A Crucial Realization’

5:30 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Pluto; how will this strike us after the energy of the New Moon? I spoke in the newsletter of the painful stretch we may be asked to make, and how our own propensity to protect ourselves will come forward, as for each of us the inner world may hold more vividness than the outer; this may result in this Lunar/ Pluto contact making for a point when the scar falls (is yanked!) off, the secret makes its appearance in our reality, the emotional framework dissolves, everything changes, we gain the power, or give the power of our emotions to someone else. Can be a crucial part of our realization of the New Moon meaning.

And for all you wait-ers: the current issue of ECLIPSE is now on sale at a reduced price–for $2.95 you get the final week (through the 30th) of December and much more! Please note, access to the protected page is not included. Thank you!
