Everything's better if we keep it light A. Macke 1912 {{PD-Art}}

The Moon trines Sedna in Earth at 11 AM PDT, and we may find we just don’t know what we feel. It may be easy to ignore upset, circumstances that would normally outrage or offend, or to fail to see the feeling reactions of others. When the Moon’s in Cap, contact to Sedna can come across as hard-nosed or indifferent; we’d do best to keep things light and factual.

By 2:30 PM PDT the Moon is square Mercury, suggesting either that communication rubs us the wrong way, or that we are dismayed by what we hear; we are just trying to be practical and balanced, but some want to charge forward and put themselves first–it’s upsetting! Just remember viewpoint is a subjective thing, and can change in an instant–whatever’s getting under the skin (a Cappy subject) is not worth harsh words or even harsh thoughts. :) Take things lightly today, especially as by 6:30 PM PDT the Moon is sextile Mars; it can be easy to get mad, with just a little Self-justifying Self-talk; opt for positive action that employs imagination, creativity, or that fulfills the ideals (all due to Mars in Pisces) instead.

The Essence for 26 March 2011: Dig It Up, Tie It Down

All kinds of skeletons might be found in the closet when the Moon hits Pluto Thanks to Tomas Castelazo for his photo Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported

8 AM PDT places the Moon conjunct Pluto; why on a sunny (figuratively speaking) Saturday does the emotional nature insist on plumbing the depths? There’s a faint shadow over everything, impossible to shake, though we can use the undercurrents to get to the heart of any mystery, secrets, or upsets we’ve been wondering about. We can clean out the emotional closet; expect to find a few skeletons!

By 7 PM Pacific the Moon has formed a T-square with the Jupiter/ h.Zeus exact opposition, with Saturn just a tish away from exactitude. The dynamic is one where the emotions become the outlet for our attempts to impress the social sphere, get what we want, and expand the area of our ambitions, to tie these down in solid form, acknowledgment, or promises and boundaries. For some, sides will be taken: we may either see ourselves as almost-god-like and powerful enough to dictate who gets what, or we may see ourselves as an almost pure vibration of one-pointed desire–and in both cases we could lose dimension from our viewpoint, seeing things as simple and direct. Others may receive the emotion generated by the conflict of the two energies (and they may experience it as a need to clamp down on feeling and reaction), and still others will feel the dichotomy within, in a face-off over a simple expansion/ contraction dilemma–and a few will challenge the social sphere with solid examples of their ambitions and desires, presented on a fancy platter, “Love it or don’t; you’ll never know what I think!’ (Cap Moon)

Text in the corner of this ‘Oz’ cover says,

art editor of Time magazine
Some revolution!

Void begins 6:26 PM PDT; Moon enters Capricorn 6:57 PM. That brings us to the Moon square Uranus at the Aries Point, likely causing us to re-visit in some way our experience with Uranus into Aries. We may see a re-iteration of our personal Uranian experience, or we may see a contest of Wills, the erratic individual vs. the rules, the stoic, the confines of our own emotional understanding. Likely a sticky situation wherein anyone with a rebellious streak will go to town–and everyone else will be left in the Capricornian dust, picking up the pieces and stunned into goat-like silence.

I know it doesn’t sound pretty, but it may liberate a certain element within all of us that is a little too attracted to extremes, to drama, to the angry shout and flounce out of the room. So, think of it as a necessary purge, and don’t hold the role chosen against anyone who participates in the play.

Later evening sextiles to Ceres and Chiron simply allow us to establish who’s in authority (without any drama) and to heal.

ECLIPSE magazine, Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary

Read the description of this odd print here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Richard_Arkwright_dismissing_his_wife.jpg

Void begins 5:08 PM PST of the 8th, with the Moon’s entry into Aquarius coming at 11:30 PM PST. This is notable mostly as offering denizens of the Western Hemisphere uncertain evening proceedings. Particularly in Western time zones, the atmosphere could be one of seriousness that in spite of itself can’t really accomplish anything–there’s just no energy (the meaning of a Void period) behind any efforts–and Cappy hates to be thwarted. Frustration can lead to cross words and temper tantrums–all to no avail. With the Moon’s entry into Aquarius, energies turn philosophical, and we gain a little mental distance, allowing for assessing where things just weren’t going well. First aspect of note that breaks us out of our critical revery is the Moon’s square to Venus, 9 AM-ish PST of the 9th; why is it that just when we’re feeling good about our minds we start to worry about our looks? or our relationships, or our money? Things take a devilish turn as we overthink and over-analyze; this overwrought contemplation could take up our whole day–and it’s not helped by the pressure of Mercury’s imminent retrograde.

ECLIPSE Readers: There is a LOT of new material on the Private Page, including info on Merc Retro and its effects; if you don’t have your password yet, get it with $4.95 purchase of ECLIPSE Astrology Journal http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Includes 3 month access (November, December, January) to all the password-protected Private Pages here at the site, and includes Mercury Retrograde info and will cover the upcoming Eclipses! 7 December 2010: A Serious Action Plan

Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary

I chose this just because the material of her dress is rendered so beautifully--but they could be making an action plan, couldn't they? Borch c.1654 {{PD-Art}}

8 Dec 9:59 AM PST We lost internet here in this part of Seattle for several hours–so I’m way behind! Check back this afternoon for a new post–thanks!

3:49 PM PST on the 7th Mars enters Capricorn, and the action urge gets a whole lot more serious. With Chiron/ Neptune (Fixed Air) sesquiquadrate Saturn/ h. Zeus (Cardinal Air) we may be looking at actions that can be successfully adjusted to reality, ambition/ Will, ideals and skills–and this creates an excellent time to act in a way both inspired and practical. By 5:30 PM PST the transiting Cap Moon squares h. Zeus, making this an optimum moment to know and fulfill ambition or desire, if one is open to recognizing and working with reality (you would be surprised how many people aren’t); then by 6:30 PM on the 7th a square to Saturn and semi-sextile to the Sun show us where we stand materially. Would these aspects be better flipped, with awareness coming first? Absolutely, but with the Moon in Capricorn it really is about atuning to the reality of the situation in order to achieve what we want and make our actions effective–which means that Saturn aspect to Neptune/ Chiron (a sesquiquadrate) becomes a test of our connection to what is, as much as it is a call to manifest ideals and ambitions.

For a lot more on current aspects and conditions (ECLIPSE Readers, see material added for today, link at right) for three months (Nov, Dec, Jan), access to monthly overviews, extra material on the Private Pages and in-depth articles, get ECLIPSE for only $4.95  Support the blog and get the full story! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Thank You!

November 10-12: Sacred and Solar

Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary

By evening of the 9th we see the Sun and Vesta still very close together in Scorpio, and this continues through the 12th; the melding of the Solar energy and the sacred principles of life makes for a monolithic sense of authority to those things that are illuminated in our lives–look to the natal House where this meeting is occuring (around 17 Scorpio) to know where that idea of sacredness is applying. For instance, in the 1st House this may imply a feeling that you have the answers to what’s most important now, while in the 8th House the assets of others may seem to be the thing that must be respected. It’s a feeling that will permeate the next few days, so take a moment to pinpoint it and work it out.

Read more of the forecast for the rest of the week at the Private Pages here at the blog, accessible with purchase of ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ Thanks!

Ceres, Moon in Capricorn, My Astro Diary

As much fun as I had over my Solar Return vacation, it was still a rough ride, and without actually having to consciously choose, my life has changed. Internal shifts were presented as both necessary and inevitable–I don’t feel like I have a choice, while at the same time what must happen (what has, in effect, already happened) feels like an appropriate expression of my Soul intent at this point in time; this means that there’s no conflict for me in what’s developed, though there is a little regret at losing a particular rhythm that was stressful but had become comfortable, and for a time suited me very well.

The part that affects all of you centers on the way I will be spending my days on other than astrology. I won’t stop doing it, but I will be doing things only when I want to, which means the daily posts are (probably) a thing of the past. I will continue ECLIPSE for as long as it’s feasible; the goal is to cut down the time I spend on the computer every day from 8+ hours to no more than 2. I can’t accommodate what feels like a personal mandate to fulfill another part of myself if I’m chained to this machine–this part of the change is made quite consciously, though what I’ll be filling my days with is open to many forms–and I’m excited to see where my impulse takes me.

What else has changed? I seem to have become a vegetarian. I know! Weird! I have always been a meat-lover–but, suddenly, not anymore. I’m not saying this is a forever thing–if meat appeals to me tomorrow, I will eat it–and there’s no ideological basis for this, though I’ve long believed that as a species we would evolve away from eating other living things–but never thought something so basic in me would change overnight. It’s just one of the shifts in my life this past week, and serves to show just how fundamental some of the new directions are for me.

There are lots of options out there for astrological advice and forecasts–choose wisely and with care. A handful of sources, at the most, or just one that you vibe to, are all anyone needs. I’ll expand even further the forecast contents in ECLIPSE, so that those who want to know how I see things still have a way to find out.

As for what’s up now: Ceres entered Capricorn a few days ago, and she makes slow progress, still at 00. My feeling is that Ceres is very much at home in Capricorn; she abhors a vacuum, and Cap is structure from the cell to the firmness of the Earth herself–together they fill and contain, cradle and create–they are the point where the natural fertility and abundance meets form and structure. We cannot, figuratively speaking, hold a bowl without it filling with something, almost before we know it. No space is left empty by Mother Nature–and this means that we may find some odd combinations, where spiders move in to shoes and it doesn’t especially bother us, and we prefer the dying flowers to an empty vase. The bounty is everywhere, in all its phases, which means decay is as big a part of what fills our spaces as is the flower or the fruit. Learn to work with this anti-emptiness as it will be a theme. The fussier among us may be frustrated by the temporary inability to clear out and lock down, and authorities may present as much more formidable than usual. Remember it’s just Ceres doing her best to fit her abundance, the variety of life and death, into those things that appear static, rigid, and uncompromising–we can all benefit from the union.

Vesta sextiles Pluto and Pallas rides the midpoint, offering a unique opportunity to edit our lives; we can see where to make the smart cuts, where to resurrect, where to destroy. It’s housecleaning that preserves what’s most important to us as we do the wise thing–no regrets or gaffes possible, IF we listen to the voice of our inner wisdom, and honor what really matters.

Starting with the Moon’s entry into Capricorn (9:16 PM PDT the 12th)  look for a feeling of emotions trodden by cloven hooves–I hate to be dramatic (or at least, I hate to be overly dramatic!) but that’s how it may feel for many during this Moon transit. Evil will be barefoot, traipsing over the Soul, and kicking us, whether we’re up or down. Relief doesn’t really come until just before noon PDT on the 14th–but by then, any damage may already be done, pacts with the devil signed, and we won’t see what kind of partnership we’re really in until the 15th-16th (Merc Superior Conjunction with the Sun in Libra). If we don’t react too much from hurt feelings or the idea that we’re powerless (which is an illusion) we should be able to avoid major ill effects.

And whatever you do, have a great one!

15 September 2010: It’s All Changing

Cardinal T-square, Moon in Capricorn, Moon in Sagittarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

Mars, of course, is raw at 00 Scorpio, but honestly, I didn’t anticipate how much energy would’ve built to this point when I did the forecast (so since I don’t always get it perfect, maybe you shouldn’t buy ECLIPSE!  http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/ Though it does have pretty pictures, and articles on Pluto, the 6th, and more! And I’d still want the Venus retro material and the lowdown on the upcoming Cardinal Point Moon!) Today seems to be a watershed for this build-up, but it’s only a plateau–we see tension, force, and deliberateness (for this seems the most fitting word) in what’s accrued, but this is just the beginning of the change.

For most of us, it’s one form of turmoil or another–so I have to blame it all on the Cardinal Cross energies, and the still-barely-not-quite-in-place T– and the entry of the Moon to Capricorn later today, and its meeting with Pluto. I think the Lunar energy has done a version of its old school horary skill, Translation and Collection of Light, grabbing the blast of Uranus/ Jupiter as it squares them (they’re subdued now, and yet maybe more dangerous, poised as they are ‘below the surface’ in Pisces–yes, I’m talking about that Laurel and Hardy of the sky–is anyone as old as I, with a memory of those two comedians?–Jupiter a rotund Hardy, feeling like the brains of the outfit, bossing the actually brighter Laurel, who’s having a high-strung Uranian breakdown when his idea doesn’t prevail–and isn’t that when things snap, when one rebels or strikes quick as lightning, when the energy is frustrated and, I’m thinking, betrayed–because that’s what I’m seeing all around me, individuals who have been done wrong, it’s coming to light, and now we’re hearing the gentle ‘click’ of the chamber enclosing the bullet–they are getting ready to address the situation).

The thing for all of us to know is: this is not the end, we are not at ‘the result,’ we are mid-way in the process. What we are seeing now is what’s been growing and accumulating for some time–the negatives swirl and gather the flotsam of random hate and anger and jealousy and present their gift (and I mean that in the German sense, as the word means ‘poison’ in Deutschland!) to the too-trusting, the unsuspecting, those who have looked away from the nastiness, feeling there was nothing they could do.

There is a group out there who will ride through this relatively undisturbed; these are the individuals who’ve been willing to confront the bad guy all along–that willingness acts as a protective shield, because if there’s one thing we know about nasty people, about evil, is that the last thing they want is a confrontation, to be called out, because, really, when good musters itself, truly comes to the showdown in all its brilliant, deafening glory, it kicks bad’s ass so easily–remember that next time the choice is presented to you.

22 July 2010: Take-Out Emotions

Moon in Capricorn, Moon in Sagittarius, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Sun moves into Leo today, and I think that might be good for all of us; it will trine Uranus and sextile Saturn, drawing some of the tension off the opposition. Leo is an energy of grace and enthusiasm, and this aspect can help align the individuality urges with the need for structure, focus, and containment, a dissonance that has been bothering everyone for some time now. Notice that natural channels appear for your expression, and embrace and use those that resonate for you at the deepest levels. This is a time for excellent progress in areas where you are both gifted and able to concentrate–make sure both elements are present to insure best use of this influence.

Mercury is closely square Sedna and still within trine to Ceres; this suggests we just don’t know what we’re communicating, especially about ourselves (Leo placement). The trine, however, does allow us to do this with authority! The result may be that we are revealing ourselves to others (and this is not a bad thing, just perhaps more real than we’re actually bargaining for), but that what we’re pushing/ promoting, consciously and unconsciously, is accepted as having worth, and that we have some clout or knowledge behind our assertions. Great for getting our message across and accepted, but we can end up having others give us credit or responsibility we didn’t earn (or aren’t prepared for).

3 PM-ish PDT we see the Moon quincunx Juno and square Mars; our personal effectiveness and power become an issue, in the realm of what’s important to us, on the home front, and in intimate relationships. We may wonder why this is coming up, as it seems we’ve done nothing to warrant it, but the reality is we’ve been asserting our emotions, reaching out with them (Sagittarius), and we’re letting our wants be known–and not everyone cares to hear about our demands! It’s not that we’re so adamant, it’s just that others are easily irritated, just as we’ll be with them. Giving everyone a lot of slack (we have to remember that part of the tension is related to the coming Full Moon), and not responding too quickly, will keep us from wasting our energy on trivial sparring–because what’s sure about this is that not much will change–everyone’s too Willful!

Sextiles to Neptune and then Chiron finish out the Sag Moon, either uniting creativity and skills and backing them with the emotions, or pulling the emotions (because this is easy, with a sextile) into a round of hurtful brooding and fantasizing–your choice.

Void begins 1:25 AM PDT on the 23rd, and it’s notable that the Sun, of course, has already moved on, causing the Moon to miss forming an aspect with it during its transit of Sagittarius. This symbolically suggests a little more disconnect than we might otherwise anticipate between the emotions and the sense of identity–just something to keep in mind.

Moon enters Capricorn 1:38 AM PDT, immediately creating a T-square with Saturn/ Uranus and quincunxing the Sun. The emotions are challenged: to stay on track, to not be caught suffering between the clamp-down of Saturn and the anarchy of Uranus–and of course the inclination is to clamp down, with the Moon too ready to retreat to its quiet little box. If you want to keep from shutting down from contradictory emotional overload, make the box you put your emotions in a take-out box, maybe one with easy-open flaps and a little metal handle for carrying. Choose a place and take the emotions somewhere you actually want them to go. Have an emotional picnic, shaking them out of the box, letting them feel the sunlight, and giving them room to breathe without making them feel a departure from a straightjacket means instant chaos.

Next up: the Full Moon report! ‘Till then, have a great one!

Moon in Capricorn, My Weekend Astro Diary, NORWAC, real life astrology

Well, I almost went to NORWAC http://www.astrologyetal.com/NORWAC/index.htm; a couple of weeks ago I was totally up for it. I was ready to contact some people, buy tickets, and socialize. It certainly would’ve been great to hear, and perhaps meet, so many people I admire, and surely there’s a lot I could’ve learned. But then I hesitated, and when I hesitate I assume that it’s some part of me that knows better, that is telling me there’s something more suited to me–and though I’m enjoying the Twitter reporting, I’m really glad I didn’t go, as my day here at home has been wonderful, and all I really did was sleep in (dreaming about teeny tiny babies the size of eensy, shiny, white-curled shells, a human spiral) and then sit in the dining room where we have a big pine table and big windows that face the gardens, where I’ve watched the smallest hummingbird I’ve ever seen, a small, black-headed finch that lives somewhere in this corner of the yard–I see him all the time, and he even goes around there when I’m there, too–and the big black crows that love to bring bread to the stone bird bath and leave soggy bits in their wake. For me all this, the choosing of what seems illogical and even unproductive, over the logical and expected, is an example of how, even though there was something before me that seemed absolutely right (going to a professional conference), following my instincts was personally the ‘right’ thing to do. I try to follow my prompts every time they come forward, and I hope you will, too–it’s one of the most useful and Soul-supporting skills I ever developed.

Maybe my morning’s experience is just symptomatic of the Capricorn Moon’s contact to Ceres, offering me a chance to connect with Mother Nature. This contact, at 2:30 PMish PDT and lasting about two hours total, also brings a trine to Vesta, suggesting to me that this was my time of worship–and that others too have a chance to meld with what’s sacred to them, to enjoy home, or sex, or deep communion–not a bad way to kick off the weekend at all!

The evening Pacific time belongs to Pluto. In Capricorn this might bring forward intense but enjoyable times, as the emotional outlook of Moon conjunct Pluto is balanced by the Cap energy. Some serious (in the best sense) progress can be made in whatever area the conjunction occurs for you. A quincunx to the Sun 3 AMish PDT on the 30th (and see excerpts from ECLIPSE, below) suggests that the evening’s events will ask for some emotional reckoning via a reality check.

Starting around 8 AM PDT we have, in quick succession, the Moon square Zeus, conjunct the North Node and opposed Venus, then trine Mercury. This sets a tone of perhaps being presented with the obstacle to our ambition (or at least, being presented with how thwarted ambitions and desires make us feel), an emotional bellwether that gives a glimpse into the direction we’re headed, and just precisely what this may cost us if we continue (or bring us as a reward), and finally we may receive information or communicate ourselves concerning the life path, our options, and what we want. Could be a seminal moment in terms of re-defining ourselves to more readily express true intents and purpose. The rest of the day is dominated by this emotional scenario; use the knowledge that’s come forward, and the intuitions that have been offered, to make the most of things.

It’s not too late! Get your forecast for June and July, including commentary on the coming eclipses, in ECLIPSE! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Every purchase supports this blog and my work–Thank You!
