Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

Actually, it’s the celestial energies that are taking their corners; they have been for awhile, but today in particular we may notice, and this should continue in the same intensity for about two weeks, as the Sun/ Earth axis moves toward entry to Cancer/ Capricorn, then on to conjunct the Nodal axis. When the Sun hits the South Node (3 July) we’ll see the point of it all. The Sun shines on placeholder Juno (4 Cancer 55), marrying the symbol of personal empowerment July 8th, but we’ll get the message of this conjunction well before that as Mercury makes Superior Conjunction to the Sun (28 June) then beats the Solar power to the punch by uniting with Juno on 30 June, making its own version of the ancient idea of translation of light from one body to another by a third. It’s a period of discovery, illumination, and getting to the reasons why, so appreciate what you’re shown over this time, as it can be very useful.

Of course, we have Jupiter and Uranus in the Aries corner, offering their own brand of revelation, perhaps surprising us or revolutionizing some part of our life, and whatever it brings, it will feel Big, and maybe exaggerated. The Sun approaching square to this will only light it up and bring it forward.

We have Earth and Ceres moving toward the Cappy entry point, ready to join Pluto in the early degrees, cranking up the reality factor: material circumstances are a changin’ and the earth will move under our feet, at least figuratively if not otherwise. Change change change, and part of that change will be to the power structure. Who has authority may shift, and Mother Nature won’t sit idly by; instead she’ll put her hand in and help it all along.

The final corner right now has only lonesome Saturn, out of sign. I wrote about the effect of this in ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/, and you know I don’t like to repeat myself 🙂  So let’s just say ‘stumbling block,’ and leave it at that.

Today’s Moon in Virgo hits Mars (right now!) then Vesta, and may make us a little too fond of our statistics and our details, and we may defend facts without considering differing viewpoints. Just taking it down a notch will smooth the way today.

If you haven’t already, see the last few days posts for some excellent material at some of my sister sites. Today’s Link is not astrology at all, but a wonderful resource for the gentler Arts http://bitze.wordpress.com/ Thanks, and have a great one!

Leah Whitehorse, Moon in Leo, Moon in Virgo, My Daily Astrology Diary

We pick up the Lunar action on the 16th in the 9 AM hour PDT with the Leo Moon’s square to Sedna–we may be sailing along confidently only to be blindsided. It’s not disastrous, but rather disorienting–just don’t let it throw you for the rest of the day.

By 2 PM PDT the Moon is trine Earth and sextile the Sun, helping us find our footing after the morning’s shake-up. The period we wait for, though, occurs in the 7 PM hour PDT, as the Moon trines Ceres, opposes Neptune, and is semi-sextile to Saturn. This can be kind of magical, as we bring our sense of natural authority, backed by the energy of creation itself, to bear on reality. This offers us the chance to make things happen in a way that seems effortless; the sleight-of-hand is illusion, however, as a genuine talent for manifesting based on image or ideal comes forward for those who have disciplined their impulses and have earned the mojo to make it happen. An unlucky few may face the uncovering of a deception, delusion, or the undeniable destruction of a fantasy; the up side for all is a renewed sense of personal power as we become better grounded and perhaps gain a fresh awareness of new-found abilities.

Void begins at 8:24 PM; Moon enters Virgo 10:40 PM PDT. Right away she faces the powerhouses at 00 and 01 of the signs: Chiron in Pisces, Uranus and Jupiter in Aries. It’s a challenge; will we use the impetus to heal and bring out skills, or will we succumb to collapsing inward like a dying star? Uranus and Jupiter ask us to adjust our ideas of uniqueness, expansion, reaching out, intellectual creativity, knowledge, religious fervor, and/ or innovation so that the implementation fits our world. It’s smart to be flexible, and most of us will.

Bonus! Merc trine Zeus=just listen, and you’ll find out exactly what others want, and what their ambitions are–desires are an open book, so if there’s something you want to know . . .   Ceres opposed Pluto=finally, two formidable forces face off; it’s a clash of the titans–if you’re one of them, know your own strengths, and know your opponent’s–if you’re not one of them, get out of the way! A positive outcome can be negotiated, as long as both sides are willing to acknowledge the rights and power of the other.

astrology, Moon, Moon in Gemini, New Moon, Sabian Symbols, the Magazine

The New Moon occurs at 4:14 AM PDT June 12th at 21 Gemini 23. Using our strict two degree rule, the Sun/ Earth axis of the Gemini New Moon makes a couple of minor aspects–but as we know, these are telling of the meaning picture we can expect for the coming Lunar month. First let’s look at the Sabian symbol for this New Moon: ‘Dancing Couples in a Harvest Festival’ http://www.cafeastrology.com/sabiansymbols_degreemeanings.html Gemini is the place for a twosome, alright, but for twins, related pairs, and the image brings to mind dancing partners, mated pairs, which implies opposites–and that signals we should pay direct attention to both what the Sun/ Moon aspects and what this pair’s opposite, the Earth, touches by aspect (normally we would concentrate New Moon attention on the conjunction and its aspects only).

The aspects directly involved with the New Moon picture are these: the Sun/ Moon forms a Fist of God here in Seattle with the Midheaven and Pallas. Since the Midheaven differs at any one moment by location, we must take this as specific to the North/ South axis along which a number of high profile enterprises lie, and see it as the possibility of the inception of something very public that involves commerce or guidance in some form, or perhaps an adjustment involving these (the sesquiquadrates)–and if we take guidance to suggest something like a search engine, then perhaps we’re looking at an announcement involving Bing (Microsoft) or Google, the Mountain View, California location of which shares the same Midheaven aspect, or if we emphasize commerce we may see something from Amazon (Seattle) or PayPal, which again shares a MC aspect at its San Jose, California location–or this could involve the major food producing valleys of California, since Pallas is involved with food as a commodity (and Ceres is in her own configuration at this time–see discussion of this, along with a lot more, in ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ in ECLIPSE http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/).  All these are possibilities that could affect many or all of us in some way, but for all individuals, one leg of the configuration is defnitely in force: the sesquiquadrate of the Sun/ Moon to Pallas.

This Sun/ Moon/ Pallas contact suggests the need over the coming Lunar month to modify or otherwise adjust to what’s wise or, secondarily, what’s necessary to conduct ‘business,’ which in the end is just the exchange of one thing deemed worthy for another–and the New Moon nature implies this may be a ‘first time’ for this accomodation. The Sabian of couples dancing does suggest entities working together, and the fact that the dance (interaction) is at a harvest festival says that this is a celebration, of sorts, where parties enjoy reaping their rewards. So, perhaps this is the beginning of a personal harvest of some kind, one that requires some adjustment, possibly simply of one’s attitude or communications (Gemini Air) but that pays off, nonetheless.

We musn’t forget the Earth in our analysis; it shows a quincunx to Sedna (or ‘Sedan,’ as I keep typing it!). What is it about our material position that we just won’t be able to see? We can look to the Sabians again for assistance: ‘A Chinese Laundry’ Whew! What could that mean? And why a ‘Chinese Laundry’? Do they hold some kind of ancient Chinese secret? 🙂

No–at least, the Chinese haven’t, as a people, shared anything like this with me, but what this suggests is the kind of industrious and needed labor that those newly arrived to a place are prone to take up–and that implies that the new venture, occurence, or life direction we see with the New Moon may necessitate that we humbly supply what’s useful and needed–that we, figuratively or otherwise, be willing to ‘start at the bottom’ in order to succeed–and this may be the thing we don’t see, when examining the New Moon picture.

Aren’t you tired of me pushing my new magazine? I’m a little embarrassed, frankly, but I’ll say it again: if you enjoy what you find here at the blog, you’ll love ECLIPSE  Take it home for a pittance (a pittance that supports my work and is truly appreciated) and find in-depth articles (and sometimes topics) you’ll see nowhere else, as well as forecast information available only in the mag–Get it! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/

Dark of the Moon, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary

Ahhh! Dark of the Moon! Roll around in it; don’t worry, you’ll get used to the feeling of weightlessness, the disorientation, the dream-like distance of objects, people, even your own thoughts. So it’s a Taurus Moon that’s now invisible and beyond our ken, and we’re in this lovely, dark warm, slightly moist, cozy womb, and since it’s Taurus, we’re likely surrounded by warm soft blankets and throws, fuzzy slippers, and lots of good things to eat–mmm, why would we ever leave? Well, it’s a womb, for goodness sake, can’t stay here forever, and besides, once the Moon hits Gemini, we’re going to want to have a chat–and there’s just no inviting friends into the figurative uti for a sit-down. The point is, in the time between just chillaxin’ and the gabfest, there are a few things that might sneak up on us, so busy will we be sorting out all the green m & ms, crocheting booties, sipping hot chocolate, and napping with the kitty. Such vigorous lack of engagement may leave us open to . . . well, let’s see:

Mars/ Vesta opposed Neptune/ Chiron=this can make us feel that our actions, or our egos, are sacred–and when confronted with genuine hurt we are causing, or injury to others’ imaginations or creative product that stems from us, or when we are challenged to bring our skills to serve our ideals, we may lash out, hurt, or deceive the individual who’s actually just requiring us to put down our pretensions and be our best Self–don’t let this be you!

Mercury quincunx Ceres=powerful words and thoughts may glance right off us; if we can stay as attentive as is reasonable and possible, we will spot these messages as they occur, and we will gain mo-jo as a result.

Saturn quincunx Neptune=reality and fantasy collide; or, rather, they can’t occupy the same point in space and time, and that means trouble. The remedy here is simple, and a rule to live by: be willing to see reality for what it is, to embrace fantasy, but never to confuse the two.

Juno trine Chiron and square Uranus/ Jupiter, all at 00 degrees=empowerment comes from being able to face our hurts without flinching, and at the same time recognizing that compliance with certain societal requirements are necessary for support of our empowerment efforts–we can’t go it alone, and pointless rebellion or overdoing will undermine our search for relevance.

And it may go without saying, but if you have natal placements at 00 of any sign, watch that body!

Dark of the Moon, Jude Cowell, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary

The Moon in Taurus is frustrated; it looks for another energy to get physical with and finds no takers–Leo is empty and Aquarius saves Neptune for late in the game, and her early contact opposed Pallas passed the evening of the 8th, leaving us all feeling a wee bit spent. In fact, so many energies are uber-early in the degrees, or way late, that the mid-degrees leave little for the solitary Moon to aspect. We do get a trine to the North Node, 7 AM-ish PDT of the 9th, so at least we’ll get an emotional and intuitive sense that we’re on the right track.

This is reassuring, as with a Taurus Moon contact is important; the tactile, the sensuous, the material, the artisanal, the sensory, all become the centerpieces of feeling–we need some feedback, because the illusion of this Moon is that without that contact we are emotionally bereft. We can end up depressing ourselves because it all seems so damn lonely. The better approach, though, is to immerse ourselves in that sensory and physical input. Morning of the 9th the Dark of the Moon begins and a move away from the usual, and perhaps away from the need to conceptualize everything in words and thoughts (plenty of time for that with the New Moon in Gemini) will rest our control, dissection, and disernment orientation and allow the senses to wordlessly overwhelm. Try to enjoy.

A few signposts along the way: by 7:30 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Earth and we get a reality check that puts our attitude toward the material world back on course; about 1 AM of the 10th the Moon conjuncts Sedna and we may meet some real moments of distress, perhaps even a sense of emotional misconnection or a fear of not knowing who we are; the Moon’s trine to Saturn around 9:30 AM of the 10th puts us back on solid ground but may mar some of the release we found in just allowing the senses to reign.

There’s a lot of extra discussion of this upcoming New Moon in ECLIPSE–Check it out for the in-depth picture of Lunar potentials http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Or see my books and the past issue of ECLIPSE here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com

Moon in Aries, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

We usher in Monday, the 7th of June, PDT as the Aries Moon is moving out of opposition to Zeus, and forming a T-square with the Nodal axis. At least the latter portion of the weekend likely dealt with a reckoning over the ambitions and desire nature of others versus our own feelings on the matter–and no one won, with both sides a wee bit exhausted. The T suggests that the confrontation did tip the balance of power, as well as the direction each party is headed, though in what way we can’t be certain, only that future action will change due to today’s events (Cardinal T). By 6 AM PDT the Moon is sextile the Sun, and so trine Earth, suggesting that we can strike a good mixture of feeling, awareness, and material productivity in this period–this sets the tone for the day, at least on the West Coast.

By 5 PM-ish PDT the Moon is in position for a square to Venus, and a semi-sextile to Sedna. We may bristle at relationship dynamics and feel a bit unrewarded, overall, but the truth is we just won’t see the true state of things, so keep reactions bland and to a minimum–there’s nothing worse than jumping to conclusions that we may find later did not really apply.

The 2 AM hour sees the Moon semi-sextile Mercury and quincunx Saturn–isn’t this just shorthand to keep it to ourselves?  A vow to adjust ourselves to the reality picture, and to stay loose and flexible with the messages we receive (and to keep our own communications to a minimum) should avoid trouble. Speaking out may be more aggressive than we actually intend it to be (Aries placement) and the emotions may spur us to ‘defend’ ourselves when there’s no real attack under way.

5 AM or so PDT the Moon sextiles Neptune–we can trust our feelings at this point only if we have united them firmly with our ideals–otherwise we may smilingly aggress based on deception, an illusion, or confusion. By 7 AM the Moon is trine Ceres and sextile Juno, which themselves are in exact (and I do mean exact) opposition, setting the tone for the day of the 8th: power confrontations or stand-offs, with both sides feeling they are in the right. The odd thing is, they may both be correct in this regard, though successful resolution will require that each recognizes their own appropriate sphere of influence; once this is done, things will sort themselves out easily.

Void begins at 8:26 AM PDT on the 8th, with the Moon’s entry into Taurus coming at 8:40 AM, hardly enough time for a second cup of java before we are placed in a must-handle situation. The Moon trines Mars and sextiles Chiron, with Jupiter and Uranus as the midpoint of the sextile, conjunct the Aries Point. All, of course, are at 00 degrees, meaning the energies will interact and demand attention, and some of them, those keyed to Uranian individuality, or to Jupiterian ideas of expansion, may be life-direction changing. The suggestion is that we may either be hurt over, or be looking to apply our skills to, the material situation upon which our emotions are fixed, and we may find it easy to act, though our own rebellious or unique streak and the social atmosphere may not get the attention they should in order to make us truly satisfied with our choices. The spark of the idea is worthy, though it may be smart to hold off on the actual execution.

The period is a tender time when feelings and intuitions can both guide and mislead; it’s up to us to sort it out.

If you come here often to read the forecast, you need the extended detail available in ECLIPSE, including ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ and eclipse info, for New and Full Moons http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/

Moon in Aries, Moon in Pisces, My Weekend Astro Diary, the Asteroid Zeus, the Magazine

Friday evening and Saturday for West Coasters looks like a time of rest and recovery, with a Pisces Moon through to the 11 PM hour PDT on Saturday making escape, imagination, and a sense of ease and Oneness with the Universe smoothly attained. Particularly on Friday evening, with the Moon’s trine to Venus, socializing should go very well. It’s a date night when fantasy, fun, and good feeling abound. Enjoy it! but moderate your liquids and other Piscean possibilities, as Jupiter, ancient ruler of Pisces, is in the 29th degree, urging us to overdo in every department, including our reactions and social interactions, our reaching out and the impulse to ‘educate’; with this influence, stay centered and concentrate on experiencing the moment–leave potential output for later.

Look for 10:48 PM PDT on the 5th when the Moon meets Jupiter in that 29th degree–bam! Then the Moon pops into Aries and at 11:18 PM Luna unites with Uranus exactly–and there is a shock, surprise, revelation, or rebellion in store–be on alert. This is followed at 11:28 PM PDT Saturday by Jupiter’s entry to the Aries Point, and the shift is likely to be significant. Aside from the potential for incredible shake-ups with this event cycle, there are the larger implications of Jupiter in Aries, setting our social attention and energy on the individual. I’m anticipating lots of individual initiative, people finding their feet and taking off, but I also sense that the social arena may be more than a little dog eat dog. More on Jupiter meets Uranus here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/

Have you seen this new dating service, ‘Zoosk,’ being advertised on television? I was walking through the room and heard the name, and had to turn around–were they saying ‘Zeus’? And if so, did they know what they were implying? I thought choosing a sound-alike name was a bit ominious; Zeus was not just the supreme Olympian, he was horrifyingly Self-indulgent, to the point of thoughtlessly imposing his Will (particularly his sexual interest) on others. Zeus was unfaithful and deceptive in his marital relationship, and was, in fact, a rapist. Is that what you want to date, ladies? I thought not. Read a lot more about Zeus the god and his namesake asteroid here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

The daily forecasts will probably be abbreviated for a while, as I’m trying to wrap up the Juno book, do client work, and produce the next issue of ECLIPSE. I hope you’ll all give the magazine a try; the latest issue has 50 pages of information, material on astrology in practice and theory, and forecasts for the current astro outlook, and any of you who’ve read it, your comments, thumbs up or down, or any suggestions are very welcome–let others know if it’s worth it! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Thanks, and have a wonderful weekend!

My Daily Astrology Diary

I’m not going into the details; let’s just say that today the influences are subtly unsettling, with everything feeling all pokey corners. There’s a lot of pressure, internal and external, to make progress and to express the individuality (and some will see this as expressing their authority), and none of it will be easy. Today’s just not the day to shoot for a successful finale, though if we can keep our heads straight we can make progress. Apply yourself to what’s already laid out with a clear plan, as perceptual difficulties are the heart of most problems. Hints of nostalgia may come forward, and the evening Pacific time is perfect for connecting emotionally, for relationships where feeling is genuine and deep, for loving and earning, and in any arenas where one must bring forward feeling and make emotional contact with others (such as performing).

Fist of God, Jude Cowell, Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary, Mystic Rectangle, the Magazine

So the Aquarius Moon advances by 3 AM PDT of the 3rd to become part of a major Mystic Rectangle made up of Moon/ Neptune/ Chiron, sextile Ceres, trine Mars, sextile Juno. Exuberance can be the result, with emotional idealism supported by a sense of power, authority, and sureness, and it’s easy to get carried away, and ultimately hurt because of it. We’re high as a kite, emotionally speaking, and don’t seem to notice the punch poised to land from that Fist of God with apex Neptune and base of Zeus square South Node. By being too optimistic, we leave ourselves open to falling for something we’ve fallen for in the past, something ambition or desire related, about which we’re deluded completely in the now. Between the two influences we could experience a sucker dynamic that may leave us embarrassed, deceived, or feeling just plain foolish. Most susceptible time is during the Void (starting at 7:58 AM PDT) through the Moon’s entry into Pisces, at 10:33 AM PDT. Then the emotions are united most closely with the potential for hurt from the preceeding events; if there’s any real injury to be felt, this is when it comes forward. Forewarned is forearmed.

At this point our attention may be drawn to a daunting Grand Square–Juno, Jupiter/ Uranus, Ceres, Saturn. Wasn’t it already in place, you may wonder? Yes, yes it was, but tension with the Moon almost always takes precedence in the experiential realm; when the emotions are engaged, the rest of the world may go by with little notice. So now our attention is on a dynamic requiring the individual to balance the relationship to power; this can be internal or external, but will almost certainly be spurred by something out in the world that causes conflict. Those who know themselves, and have a realistic idea of their own place, will fare best.

Around 8:30 PM PDT the Moon trines Pallas, and suddenly it all makes sense; wisdom and emotional understanding prevail, and recent events and reactions are perceived fairly clearly for what they really are, and what they really mean. This should, for the most part, be an immense relief. By 8 AM PDT of the 4th the Moon quincunxes Zeus, and the emotional toll of our ambitions and desires comes to the fore–but at least we had the previous 12 hours or so to heal and re-group.

There’s a lot to talk about with the upcoming New Moon of the 12th; though the basics will be here at the blog, consider getting the full picture and details here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ as well as material on the eclipses, Ceres, synastry, and so much more! Includes submission guidelines if you’d like to write for the mag (paid!) and a free mini-reading on Ceres with each journal purchase-just email me your data, or submit it with your payment under special instructions to seller.

Grand Trine, Juno, Moon in Gemini, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

With the Sun in loquacious Gemini and the Moon in brainy Aquarius, how could we go wrong? As long as we’ve got the intellect up and running, meeting everything that comes our way with an open and daring intelligence, how can we miss? We really can’t, if what we’re presented with has the breezy mental focus of a lively conversation or exchange of information; difficulties may only come forward if we’re confronted with another’s naked ambition or desire, as the Moon moves into Grand Trine with the Sun and Zeus (8PM-ish PDT). We may not be ready for it; we’ll tend to be unguarded and convinced that everything can be talked out by meeting surface concerns–we may fail to take others’ assertions and demands seriously, or at least as seriously as we should, seeding any number of problems for later. Adding to it, aggressions may be sparked by the Mars/ Neptune opposition, where some may feel the need to make the Self heard based on misunderstandings, delusions, or hype–so if someone in your realm just has to speak out, listen for the need, the vulnerability beneath the defense–it’s likely the individual must express, and yet they’ll do so without really understanding what moves them (or moved by a complete illusion about themselves, their needs, or the feelings of others). Active compassion (a way to blend Mars and Neptune) may be the answer here, though by all means, refuse to go along with anyone else’s delusion.

To negotiate the coming days successfully, my money’s on Juno in Gemini, sextile Mars, square Saturn, trine Neptune, still just within square to Jupiter. This suggests empowerment, especially when dealing with others’ aggressions or delusions, can be found in keeping it light, cordial, and mildly informative (Gemini–that means no shockers!) It also suggests the key to holding your own and remaining above any discord is through Self-discipline and restraint, particularly on the public side of matters. This is the key to waking up on the 2nd without uncomfortable entanglements or lengthy re-explanations of what you really meant. Pallas in Scorpio is a bit isolated at this point, meaning that wisdom won’t be as easy to access internally or find in someone else as it might usually be–all the more reason that Self-reliance and Self-restraint will be prized commodities in the near future. A quincunx of the Moon to the South Node, 10 PM or so, reminds us not to get pulled back into past patterns. (More on Juno in my new book, out this summer!)

The Moon quincunxes Venus early morning of the 2nd PDT (around 4:30-9 AM), bringing some awkward illumination to our picture of relationships, values, and/ or finances. What we see may be TMI in some way that alters some ideas we have about who we are, who they are, or what we’ve got. This is a glimpse of the kind of truth we usually prefer not to notice; it’s nothing to freak out about, more something to put in the vault for later (don’t want to say ‘I didn’t know!’ later)

Moon square Sedna 4 PM-ish PDT, and we may not hear what we’re being told (Gemini), or may not know what we’re revealing ourselves. We may just be physically or emotionally drained at this point–in any case, it’s a time to be alert and perhaps not to volunteer any more info than we need to.

1 AM PDT of the 3rd the Moon trines Juno, and we may finally feel emotionally Self-possessed once again–a good time to assess whether what’s been occupying us (especially what’s been on our minds) of late is really supportive and healthy for us.

June is a very active and critical month in terms of development, in my opinion; see it all here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Your purchase supports the blog, brings you a free mini-reading on Ceres by me (just email me with your data, spell out the month, place of birth not co-ordinates), and gives you forecasts on the next two months, info on Uranus into Aries, Chiron into Pisces, the coming eclipses, ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ about New and Full Moons, an in-depth portrait of Ceres in the natal chart, Sun as Soul Purpose shown by Sabian symbol, Earth as Material Purpose (the environment needed to foster Soul growth) and much more!

To those who are still waiting on the Ceres mini-reading: thanks for your patience!

And to everyone: have a good one!
