We assert ourselves on the social scene, or make big, sudden moves; we’re focused on opportunity or education, on teaching or reaching the facts, and on grabbing possibilities or accessing info before they’re gone. That can mean that we almost immediately find what in our real-world scenario will be resistant to, shaken by, or altered with our choices. See that instant feedback as a good thing, a chance to modify ambitions and ways of perceiving material circumstances– it wouldn’t otherwise do to get what we want and then find it impossible to manage, or to fit into our ‘real life’ (Mars parallel Jupiter and semi-sq Saturn, Sun parallel Saturn and qnx SN, Merc semi-sq Zeus)

Does the clothing belong to a period you personally relate strongly to? Is what you saw elegant, militaristic, or does it signify certain activities or professions? What do you think your choice (or more accurately, what popped into your head) says about you?

Are those obstacles real, part of the external world, imposed by regulations, rules, the laws of physics and physical reality, and signs, written or not, announcing, ‘Go No Farther’, or are the barriers we face generated by our own Will, insistence, ego, and aggression, factors that may meet resistance from others and so actually be caused by us? If we are in a position of authority, we feel challenged, and if we are seeking to express our own autonomy and authority, we meet externals that hold us back, or down. If we persist, will we be successful in our efforts? If we’ve thought things through, and believe wholeheartedly in our own idea, while at the same time being willing to do whatever it takes, and are also prepared to burn it all down if necessary–then Yes. If you find yourself lacking a ‘Take No Prisoners’ attitude, then you should wait for another day, one that won’t depend so heavily on a kind of single-minded ruthlessness in reaching goals (Saturn sesq and Mars sq Ceres, Mercury parallel Pluto)

Today’s word image is a massive waterfall, frozen solid. Of course, we’re seeing this in real life with Niagara Falls. As a symbol, this may suggest powerful emotion that has ceased to ‘flow’. Two questions you need to consider: Is there something you feel strongly about that you have frozen in place, to avoid feeling those feelings? And if you don’t begin to deal with them now, what do you think will happen when there’s a thaw?

Today Venus conjoins the point Black Moon Lilith, and both are novile the South Node; the conjunction happens in Capricorn, and makes for a rather grim tendency to concentrate on negatives. We see relationships and/ or financial situations in light of what enrages us, rather than focusing on what we love about them, and the impulse is to lock things down, to contain the bad feelings, or to try our darnedest to continue to ignore or deny matters, in spite of the way we are oh-so-conscious of them now. We may just want to put a lid on it, when it might be much healthier to shift our focus from judging things as negative to seeing them as information. This might allow us the emotional distance to access the novile aspect’s ability to add a touch of genius to proceedings via memory; we are able to dip into the past and extract just the right thing to turn that downer into a beneficial event or to see profit from something built in the past. It’s up to us to find the serendipitous connection between previous circumstances and now, and to use this as a lens through which to re-focus our interpretation of the current situation.

Today’s word image is the color black–or rather, the absence of color, as a black object absorbs all the colors in the spectrum, bouncing nothing back to the eye. So, this image may prompt us to look for one of two things: something in our lives that acts as a ‘black hole’, which can never be ‘filled’, or something that refuses to interact with us, that doesn’t bounce anything back to us. Do we want this in our lives? may be the question–and then, what are we willing to do about it?
