There’s a Finger of God with base of Vesta and Mars, apex Pallas–could we ask for a better recipe for wise and practical actions that uphold our highest values? No, we really couldn’t. So there’s that, plus the potential for some really imaginative, creative, and inspired communication/ thinking–but it may spring from conflict with those ‘of status’ (or those who just think they’re in charge of us!) We may see everything from lies meant to outwit the boss to seminal ideas that inadvertently ruffle the establishment. It’s a creative dialogue, with yourself or others, and represents a potential bounty, so use it wisely. There’s a Finger of God, if you count the Nodal axes as valid configuration points–some people don’t, but then, I didn’t ask them–so we have one with base of Jupiter and Venus-Black Moon Lilith, apex North Node, and we have a second one, with base of Mars and North Node, apex Jupiter, and even a third, looser one, with base of Mars and Vesta, apex Pallas. That’s a lot of combined and funneled energy–and let’s add to it a loose T-square, with the opposition of Ceres-Juno and the arm Neptune. The Fingers are all likely rapid, contained currents in the midst of slower waters, while the T is more of a stand-off with the energy that holds the answers swingin’ out on the arm.

Those slower waters are made up of the energy of individuals looking for an outlet, and finding themselves hobbled, or challenged by someone or some thing that is in some way their opposite number. Each Finger has its own character: the first sees opportunity and/ or the facts meld with an exploration (either one driven by Love, financial need, or by jealousy/ envy) that brings neglected or angering realities to the surface. The second sees action or choices designed to take us forward that result in opportunity or present us to the social sphere. And the third suggests that actions and choices based on highest values and what we honor results in smart or practical outcomes. The T says the way to re-channel a power stand-off is through using the imagination (or, under some conditions, in using deception). This is again one of those days when each individual is likely to meet only two of these combos, on average. Just remember that utilizing the energy of a Finger gives you an outlet and removes you from the doldrums of an otherwise stagnant situation.

There’s a Full Moon as the Earth slips into Libra and the Sun into Aries, the culmination occurring at 6:43 PM PDT at 00 Libra 09, with the Moon-Earth quincunx Uranus and opposed Chiron, the latter of which the Sun is moving toward conjoining. It’s a very simple Full Moon picture, but not necessarily a direct one; the quincunx speaks of the need for adjustment, to the unexpected, to revelation, to sudden understanding, to the standards of Higher Mind, to the academic (rather than real-life) requirements of a situation. In some way, what we’re not looking out for comes along and creates the need for our response–and that is something coalescing with the arrival of the Full Moon, an attitude or realization that only now becomes fully formed, and may only now be graspable–and it presents either fresh injury or the chance to heal from an old one.

The Sun at the Aries Point (just as it crosses the equatorial plane on its way North, marking the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere), opposing the Moon in Libra, both at 00 Cardinal and so at liminal point in the zodiac, suggesting that the Sun’s position points to a change in us as individuals, where we bring something within us into manifestation, with the Full Moon in Libra showing a kind of result of that, as our ‘I Am’ statement is translated into a change or development in our relationship to others. This shift may be brought forward by that unexpected event or response, or the unexpected development may spring from our ‘I Am’ call and response; in either case, it presents a Chirotic moment, one wherein we can access healing, or hold more tightly to new-found hurts, all depending our your point of view.

The Full Moon Sabian symbol is, ‘In A Collection Of Perfect Specimens Of Many Biological Forms, A Butterfly Displays The Beauty Of Its Wings, Its Body Impaled By A Fine Dart’. In my mind, the beauty of any such image is quickly overwhelmed by the static nature of the display, by the fact that the living thing is only so closely observable because it’s dead. Think in large terms: are we looking at a relationship that may have some lovely qualities but that in fact is lifeless, trapping the participants in a situation not just of immobility, but of an inability to even respond, offering no chance of changing or leaving? And, even more important, do we even want change in this regard?

The Sabian for the Sun may help: ‘A Woman Just Risen From The Sea; A Seal Is Embracing Her’. This symbol is pure Sedna (and if I used bigger orbs, we could count a wide out-of-element trine of the Full Moon to Sedna in Taurus). As such this points to the way the current, static relationship has arisen directly from our own instincts and inclinations, from what we sense and ‘know but don’t know’, and may have been specifically designed to show us our ‘blind spot’. Paying clear-eyed attention to what we see at this time is paramount to getting what we need from Full Moon events.

Don’t look for solutions in this Full Moon; listen instead for the response the Universe offers to your personal ‘call’. This marks a subtle but vital shift in both the identity ‘statement’ we make in the world and the way that affects our relationships. If you see the effect as you being the same but others suddenly reacting differently, look more closely: you’ve changed.

The day also sees a trine between Mars and Pluto, and a sextile between Mercury and Saturn. These offer the energy and strength to make your move, and the mental stability and attention to real-world circumstances that will make that move truly effective.

For those born with the Sun at 00 Aries (check your natal chart for your Sun degree!) What’s ending right now, at birthday time, and what’s beginning? It may feel disorienting, like the world is shifting beneath your feet, like you don’t really know any more who you are, and particularly who your friends (and enemies) are. This is actually a good thing; it’s time to re-orient yourself to the world. Things aren’t like they used to be, and neither are you, and a re-tooling of attitudes, behaviors, and even instincts is necessary if you’re going to stay a part of the scene–to do otherwise is to step out of the stream of life, and we don’t want that! Attune yourself by defining what it is you care about. It’s not going to take much more than that to bring you some stellar benefits this year, through to your next birthday, though it would be smart to also take advantage of the ease with which you can purge yourself of otherwise difficult past conditions.

Go with the spontaneous and original today–those things spring from the depths of wisdom, or at least from ingrained practicality that finds its best expression–and don’t be afraid to plan modifications to the ambitions, because you’ll have some good, out-of-the-ordinary ideas today–just wait until Merc direct to implement. Clues for success: get rid of any outdated or otherwise harmful ‘standards’–they’re helping exactly nothing–and look for the treasure in the wound. With that last, a gentle appreciation works better than active digging.

Today’s word image is fruit. Specifically, I’ve recently had some very negative reactions from others when I turn down offered fruit. They behave as if it’s a moral failing. Do I bother to tell them that some fruit makes me itchy and miserable, while other kinds can send me to the hospital? Sometimes, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference–when I do say why, they clearly think I’m lying. First of all, why does anyone give a rat’s ass if I eat their fruit or not? That’s just more fruit for them, right? Second, I’m not trying to be rude, I’m trying not to have a breathing emergency–so in what Universe is looking out for my own well-being offensive? This little rant is all in service to the question, Are you judging someone without either knowing the whole story, or perhaps judging them and not believing what they tell you? And if you are, you need to ask yourself, how do you know you’re right?

For those born with the Sun at 29 Pisces (check your natal chart for your Sun degree!) You’ve got some down time ahead of you, time to contemplate, to consider. Among other things, you might think about what areas of your life you’d like to heal, really, thoroughly heal, so that they function perfectly–and consider also where you might need to shake things up. When things start moving again (1-3 months post birthday) you’ll need to be ready, so having a short ‘to-do’ list will be invaluable in setting you off in the right direction. The one thing not to disturb would be emotional issues; they’ll get a fresh start, too, but that can only happen with the passage of time. When the moment comes you’ll be offered a complete ‘vision’ via the intuition. Listen to it in reference to the future of one or more relationships–it won’t steer you wrong.

There’s a kind of magic in the air today, where the smart thing happens, the fortuitous thing, the thing that makes us better in some way for the future. That’s everything and nothing, isn’t it? Ideas are original (write them down; you’ll want or need them later), we find unexpected ways to work with or get along with others (and derive power from it), and our ambitions pay off, even if our goals aren’t reached. The one thing we can do to undo the sparkles? Speaking or otherwise communicating rashly–for every genius idea we spout, we’ll also spill the uncomplimentary beans, so keep it all to yourself (Juno nov NN, Pallas parallel Hygeia, Pluto nov Ceres, Venus trine Zeus, Mercury nov Uranus, Sun parallel Mercury)

Today’s word image is jealousy. I know, I’m surprised, too! Maybe we first need to be clear about what this is, as it’s often confused with envy. Envy is wanting to be what someone else is, to have what they have, while jealousy is the fear of losing something or someone’s attention to a third person. Is there something you’re afraid of losing, and if so, have you identified the third party you think is threatening the situation? Often jealousy triggers focus on that third person, but I’m thinking that it’s almost always much more about the health of the situation or relationship itself, as it stands. That is, if you fear you’re losing something you want to keep, focus not on the individual who came along and showed you the system’s weaknesses, but on what within the system/ relationship that needs to be revived.

You might not understand your own emotions, for a time; they might feel a little alien, focused as they’ll be on yourself and how well you ‘shine’ in relationships–but once that dark age of feeling passes, your year will ‘open up’, as you present essentially a ‘New You’ to the world. This mini-re-birth involves adjusting thinking to better serve ambitions, learning (and accepting) what really pays, and what doesn’t, and responding accordingly (this is something up to now you’ve been somewhat reluctant to do), and doing some (mostly unexpected) healing and re-connecting in relationships.

I want to talk about each set of perfecting contacts today, each as it’s own discrete influence. First: can two measurements, theoretical energy points in space, interact? I suppose so; consider that we measure effects of moving bodies to the places bodies occupied at our time of birth, so why not two places currently unoccupied but considered meaningful? That would be the North Node quincunx Black Moon Lilith. This suggests modifications to our current direction that happen either because we ignore or deny something, or because we are so angry with something, with an injustice, that we can no longer continue as we are. Then there’s a Finger of God, Sun sextile Pallas, both quincunx Sedna, which promises that attention to what’s wise, what’s smart, what’s practical, and/ or to exercise of skills, fine tunes the instincts and puts us on track, informing our efforts with what we ‘know but don’t know’–it just takes trusting and doing as our inner wisdom describes. Mercury conjoins Vesta and sextiles Mars, aligning our thinking, despite the retro, with our highest values–but also implying that once the retro’s over, we may not be happy with the choices or actions we based on current thinking.

I think for each of us, just one or two of these will figure prominently–but which one or two will matter to any one person we are likely unable to pinpoint just yet. So, tuck them all into consciousness, and do your thing–if you need one, it will surely pop up and help you as you go forward.

Today’s word image is looking up and out the window of a church, at the Sun. To me this image speaks of two ways we as humans have recognized divinity, one by actually worshiping the Sun and its gods, and second by building structures dedicated to the divine, supposed symbols of our respect. For those born with the Sun at 27 Pisces (check your natal chart for your Sun degree!) It may feel like you’re a little bit alone out there, just dangling in the Cosmos with no safety net–and in a way, you are. That feeling doesn’t last all year, but it’s powerful while it does, and may drive you to do a thing or two you don’t really want to, just to try and break the impasse. Don’t–be patient–because once it breaks open, it breaks open good, offering healing and a kind of emotional reckoning that may be painful but that will ultimately be a huge relief–and so open the way for a whole new way of seeing, doing, and being. Don’t fret–when the time comes, you’ll be guided by equal parts instinct and wisdom–you’ll know exactly what to do.

We meet a situation today that might have us asking ourselves, how much desire is good for us? It’s a matter of want, appetite, lust, longing, that is so intense we may wonder if it’s healthy–and the answer is it remains a healthy situation only for as long as we are truly empowered within it. As long as we are actually in command of ourselves, we risk nothing. Thinking we have power doesn’t cut it, and something will come along and let us know our idea of our own effectiveness is wrong, the danger with this being that our understanding comes too late to keep us from getting in over our heads. So, know what you want, think in power terms, but don’t act on either, unless the objective is already well within your reach. Not terribly exciting, but safe, guaranteeing you’ll wake up tomorrow with no regrets.

Today’s word image is a swan. Did you immediately picture one gliding on a glassy lake, spooning necks with a mate, lifting off gracefully in the air? Of course, the appropriateness of any scenario changes with the times, and this one is not countenanced at all currently. What thing are you still accepting, because it has a ‘pretty’ surface, that in actuality you consider barbaric, if you just look closely enough?

Why does it feel like our instincts, our own most intimate impulses, are steering us in the ‘wrong’ direction? It’s because we’re reacting from the way we think we’ll profit by embracing our own hurt, or by denying something we really should recognize; we know the mind is taking us down a path we don’t want to travel, and yet we need to see that our sense of ‘wrongness’ is based in the way, small or large, the impulse is violating what matters most to us. It’s the perception of abandoning our priorities that’s tempting us with what amounts to illicit reward, as it will only dig at the wound or cause more denial, and so more pain. Right now the mind is exaggerating and hyping, when it’s not rejecting the facts and fighting over beliefs, and that means our way out is singular, but not hard to do if we narrow our focus: put everything on the future, how things will read in hindsight, once we get there–thinking of that can guide our best choices now.

You can feel the ambition flowing through you today, can’t you? You may label it something else: restlessness, desire, passion, ants-in-the-pants, but in any case, you want to make the best situation for yourself possible–that’s what ambition really is–with the agitation caused by some slight discrepancy between the idea of our personal values that inform our Self-image, and the change to that Self-image that will be undeniable if we fulfill that ambition. How to balance that out, take advantage of the forward momentum without hurtling off the cliff? Concentrate on pursuing what’s original (for you) and unique–that is, that thing that’s having its moment right now, and that you are in the perfect position to exploit/ express; pay due tribute (but no more than that) to those in power–that brings gain; and make sure that choices, actions, ‘moves’ clearly reflect the reality situation–it’s not a day to launch projects on a whim or that are rooted in the fantastical. Take care with what you put in motion right now, as the Inferior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury brings a kind of life-generating power to ideas and starts–and that can mean that even the most casual step forward may have more seed-power than you ever think it could.

Today’s word image is a black cat. Does it make you think of Halloween (a time when strangers can knock on stranger’s doors and ask for candy, and no one thinks it’s weird), or maybe how they’re thought to be handing out a kind of curse as they cross one’s path, does this bring a favorite real-life cat, someone you know who loves cats, a storybook one (the infamous ‘Midnight’ from my first reader!), or does it just remind you of your allergies, your dislike of cats/ preference for dogs, or do you feel an annoyed twitch thinking of how they own the internet?
