‘Morning Awakening’ Eva Gonzales 1876 {{PD}}

Full Moon in Sagittarius at 9:11 PM PDT of the 12th at 22 Sag 05

The Full Moon forms the apex of a Finger of God with base of Jupiter-Sedna, with no other aspects falling within our strict three (at most!) degree orb. This promises a culmination of a matter related to the House in which this FM falls in the natal chart, an ending with a Sagittarian theme. The involved energies, Jupiter, Sedna, and the Moon, in themselves contradict one another: where Jupiter is about accumulated knowledge, Sedna and the Moon are about feeling, especially the kind of feeling that is pre-verbal, instinctive, and reactive; where Jupiter is about sharing and getting the word out, Sedna and the Moon are involved in the personal experience, and those experiences are of the kind that may never be shared with others; Jupiter represents the external and exotic, those things in the world we might visit or learn about, things that expand our Universe, while Sedna and the Moon represent internal qualities and a landscape only we can see and visit. Aligned as they are in a Finger, we can gather that a meeting of that external, Jupiterian, knowledge-based circumstance and the internal, instinct-guided, Sedna-type of knowledge and awareness (which are typically consciously hidden from us and make up our ‘blind spot’) will, if successfully achieved, result in an emotional ending or culmination. Keep in mind, though, that the Moon is also a principal indicator of the passage of time, so that this ending (Full Moon) may not actually have an emotional component, but may instead simply indicate a closing out of a particular period, and so represent the passage of time, or possibly a sense of satisfaction gained by successful utilization of both sides of the base energies.

This is an excerpt from the current ECLIPSE–to see what’s included and order, go here–and Happy Full Moon!

Jean-Baptiste Siméon Chardin – Le garçon de cave 1738 {{PD}}

10 June relationships offer wisdom, or we recognize what a smart connection we’ve made, and we can make good financial decisions as well, though in all instances involving Venusian energies, we must adjust our expression to fit our ultimate goals—what comes automatically won’t serve our ambitions very well. Just be aware that talk right now is big, as is the scale on which we’re thinking—and with Merc retro, there’s nothing wrong with dreaming, as long as we’re not attempting to put together plans. (Venus parallel Pallas and quincunx Zeus, Mercury parallel Jupiter)

Today’s image is that last dirty dish that you just can’t seem to fit into the dishwasher. Though a feeling of total cleanliness and order is desirable (just about every commercial promises this, don’t they?) real life has lots of loose ends. Learn to allow a little disorder, a little dirt, without attaching any moral judgment or sense of failure to it. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, “Obsessive is as obsessive does.” Nobody needs that much Pluto!

Painting by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, depicting a scene from Kalevala, a Finnish epic poem. The warrior Lemminkainen had been killed, his body hacked to pieces and thrown into the dark river that flows through the underworld, Tuonela. His mother, having collected the parts from the river and sewing them back together, looks up to see a single bee bringing back honey from the halls of the god Ukko, a wondrous ointment that would bring her son to life. This suggests Lilith as a mother, the lengths and dark depths to which she would go for her child, and the projection of the (sacrilegious) idea of taking resurrection into her own hands.

The warrior Lemminkainen had been killed, his body hacked to pieces and thrown into the dark river that flows through the Underworld. His mother, having collected the parts from the river and sewn them back together, looks up to see a single bee bringing back honey from the halls of the god Ukko, a wondrous ointment that would bring her son to life. This suggests Lilith as a mother, the lengths and dark depths to which she would go for her child, and the projection of the (sacrilegious) idea of taking resurrection into her own hands.

A Little on Lilith

Lilith is an attractor—it’s one of those qualities we almost hate to recognize in her, as it’s so much easier to call her a bad girl; we’re so much more comfortable dismissing her as a problem, rather than recognizing that there are things about her that draw us to her, things we might like to have or be ourselves. She is said to sleep with demons—but isn’t that what a patriarchy that had been defied would say about the one who defied it? It’s undeniable that her dark qualities have a hypnotic pull; she is the shadowy alley we enter, the deep beyond the cliff’s edge that tempts us to step over, the lightless closet into which we reach, because we want to know. That was said to be Eve’s sin, a desire to know; it’s also said that Lilith returned to the Garden of Eden as the serpent who famously offered the Apple of Knowledge to Eve, hesitant, I-came-from-the-rib-not-made-of-an-equal-portion-of-creation-‘dust’-as-was-his-first-wife. Lilith is something more: she’s the woman (or the anima in men) that knows who she is: an equal to anyone else, in that most important sense of the word, the one describing our equality at the level of our basic humanity—and by seeing herself as equal, she succeeds in claiming equal rights, she succeeds in claiming the right to know, and asks permission from no one to do so.

What is Lilith’s real power? In demanding equality she became a screen for projection of all that the social sphere deemed undesirable—and so Lilith may speak much more of the power others attribute to those things they think they are not; she is a catch-all for everything deemed ugly and wrong, everything termed degrading to the feminine ideal within a culture. But with high Self-esteem as her hallmark, the source of her compelling and attractive nature may lie within us: she is an attractor because she has declared herself free and equal in a way we all desire to be, as well.

7 June our empowerment options come instinctively—either we know what to do, or we just don’t. Those who routinely block the unconscious will feel lost. Relationships and/ or finances get in the way of making uninhibited choices or taking action freely, and we may find ourselves resenting what we otherwise really need and want in our lives—the other possibility is that we find ourselves uncomfortable or unhappy trying to accommodate someone we love, or the needs of our pocketbook. We are sure of our values and what we’re dedicated to, and this clears the mental arena and makes perceptions unusually sharp (barring the empowerment/ unconscious conundrum) (Perfecting today: Juno conjunct Sedna, Venus quincunx Mars, Sun trine Vesta and parallel Mercury)

Today’s image is an early summer garden already overrun with growth. Though some might see this as evidence of abundance, it can be overwhelming for a gardener–too much to do! This image corresponds to what a great many of us have been going through lately–too much happening in our lives to handle all at once. What we need to remind ourselves of is that all this new growth is good, that it offers us tremendous choice, that it will mature at its own rate, and that all we need to do is keep our eye on what we really care about.

8 June beauty may blossom in some ugly places, and amazing transformations may, for one day, become routine. Relationships or financial situations may alter in a heartbeat—but if one or the other does change, it won’t be something you weren’t able to anticipate if you are honest with yourself. In fact, that may be the theme today: honesty brings reward, even if that reward is only that one knows the truth, especially in terms of resources or with others. That’s actually good, as it’s clear the reality picture needs modification, especially as this applies to how and where what we’ve learned from our wounds, or our Chirotic skills, may be better employed. (Perfecting Today: Venus trine Pluto, Sun quincunx Saturn, Chiron square Sun-Earth axis)

2 June we find our worth through avenues of empowerment, through Self-expression that lets us have an impact on our life or our environment, but we need to be aware that the well-lighted path before us has a few dark, crooked corners that we just can’t see yet—be prepared. (Perfecting Today: Venus parallel Juno, Sun sesquiquadrate the North Node)

1 PM PDT of the 30th the Cancer Moon sextiles Pallas. You can feel or intuit the smart thing at this time. 9 PM PDT the Moon trines Neptune. Imagination and artistic inspiration come through or are triggered by the emotions.

31 May we may find ourselves, like sunflowers, turning our faces toward the sun of the social sphere or those in charge; we may temporarily lose our values to the dazzle of those with power and mystery—and though little lasting damage may occur, we still might feel disoriented from this brief (and for most of us totally uncharacteristic) foray into worship of what’s shiny or strong. If this is our thing, then successful partnership with the powerful is possible, and reward may come from re-tracing our steps or pulling from experience. Just be aware that all actions and choices at this time have a back story, one that could hold deep implications for the future. (Perfecting today: Jupiter sextile Juno, Sun trine Mars with Black Moon at the midpoint, Venus contra-parallel the North Node)

1 June we may wake up and wonder who polished up the world while we slept—intelligence is rewarded, we make smart choices in relationships and finances, wisdom soaked in love is being served up everywhere, and generosity comes naturally to the well-adjusted (and is showered on everyone else, making them a whole lot mentally and emotionally healthier, too). We see, and so can learn, everything we need to know, and we are in a perfect position to assess the worth of that knowledge. Opportunity presents itself under a spotlight today—it’s really hard to miss—but you will if you insist on closing your eyes. (Perfecting today: Venus trine Pallas, Sun parallel Jupiter)

I’m adding Black Moon Lilith to the points included in aspect analysis–read about it here, in the latest ECLIPSE, when you order! Or follow me on Tumblr–And have a great weekend!

2 AM PDT of the 29th the Gemini Moon sextiles Uranus and trines Zeus. Spontaneous discussion or thought on ambitions and desires is on the agenda. It’s a good time to network–you can get the support you need by showing your uniqueness–or if you’re on your own you’ll have good ideas and can ponder inventive moves to take you closer to your goals. 4 AM PDT the Moon trines Vesta. You are in harmony on the home front, with the mate, or with those causes to which you are dedicated. Use this flow to enhance the relationship. 6 AM PDT the Moon squares Chiron. We may shut down over hurt, or meet the challenge and pull Chirotic skills into the mix–your choice. 8 AM PDT the Moon trines Ceres and quincunxes Saturn. Who holds authority is up for discussion–and negotiations will necessitate some changes to the rules or boundaries currently in place. 11 AM PDT the Moon hits the midpoint of Juno-Jupiter. We see the emotional repercussions of serious power struggles–or we are emotionally caught in the middle of some sort of parental-feeling dispute. Ideas about who’s right may change with the wind–so stay neutral and out of it, if possible, and remember, it’s not really your fight. Unofficially, the Void begins at 11:45 AM PDT as it leaves the midpoint–officially it begins at 9:15 AM PDT as the Moon leaves quincunx with Saturn–but that’s only if you count the quincunx. Traditionalists begin the Void at 9:07 AM as the Moon leaves trine to Ceres–but that’s only if you use asteroids. If you want only strict Ptolemaic aspects and major bodies, we see the Void begin at 3 AM Pacific. The Moon enters Cancer at 7:14 AM PDT of the 30th. No matter where you start it, this is a very long Void. Generally, things go unexpectedly, and efforts begun at this time often as not come to nothing–so conserve your ammo, as they say, just for now.

New Moon in Gemini 2014: ‘A New Self-Image’

Get ready for a new You--'They Come' by Thomas Cooper Gotch pre-1931 {{PD}}

Get ready for a new You–‘They Come’ by Thomas Cooper Gotch pre-1931 {{PD}}

New Moon in Gemini occurs May 28th at 11:40 AM Pacific time at 7 Gemini 21: ‘The Birth of a New Self-Image’

A New Moon in Gemini is very much about a new way of thinking—in this case, with Mercury at 29 degrees and Neptune in the picture, it’s about a new way of seeing ourselves, of having a new Self-image, devoid of the interference of illusion, upon which we can base our thinking. Other than the NM’s square to Neptune, the only other contact is a trine to now direct though still stationary Mars. This promises confrontation that destroys illusions, changes our ideas about ourselves, and that primes us for a new course of action, with the stage for that action likely related to subjects of the House ruled by Aries in the natal chart. Recent events have set the stage for a fresh understanding of who we are, and a new way to think about ourselves in the world; this is very good, bringing a kind of thought-renewal that we are rarely able to apply so completely to our own identity—but this time we can.

The Sabian Symbol for this is, ‘Aroused Strikers Surround A Factory’. Of course we mean ‘upset’ people on strike, not the other kind *wink* But, this somewhat unfortunate choice of phrase brings up a good point: that passion is passion, whether it’s sexual, stoked by rage, or employed in service to creating a higher ideal in the world; it’s intense energy, first and foremost, and we can direct it anywhere we choose (in spite of the impression we give ourselves, that it is created by the object or cause, we really have the passion first, then find what we judge to be a suitable outlet).In this symbol we see passionate individuals mobilized to create change, specifically in (what we can assume) is the workplace; we can translate ‘workplace’ to mean ‘our world’, where we are productive, with the attitude of the strikers the one we must adopt: a willingness to put our passion into action, to call for change, with the New Moon channeling that change-energy straight to ourselves.

5 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Neptune. This is the time for dreaming–or for inattention that can harm or even kill. Stay off heavy machinery, don’t drive–basically avoid everything they tell you to avoid when you take cold medicine! Artists, idealists, prevaricators–jump right in, you’ll be swimming in inspiration and full-blown ideas–take your pick. 8:30 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Mars. If we ‘own’ our own assertive energies, we are able to deploy them in skillful and imaginative ways; if we disown our assertiveness, we run the risk of attracting anger, aggression, or egotism–unpleasant to deal with, to say the least. Remember, Lunar aspects have a span of influence lasting roughly 4 hours before perfection to 4 hours after.

Today’s image is a clock face with no hands. Though it seems like a cliche, it’s really true that we feel like we have all the time in the world–until we don’t. Just be aware that for us mortal creatures, it’s passing.

19 May we are more than ready to face the Powers-that-Be, and to wield some power of our own. The stakes feel exceptionally high, and may be stated in a Love or Power equation, a false dichotomy if there ever was one. The reality is we needn’t give up either option, if we have the cojones to openly refuse to abandon either. The only thing this will require, besides the requisite chutzpah, will be a willingness to adjust the identity, to say, ‘Yes, I want power, yes, I want Love’. ‘The Elements’ J.E.H. MacDonald 1916 {{PD}}

17 May we get some clues as to what might be disjointed about our ambition picture and plan, and though the mentality perceives things in a light that respects our highest values we may still be too reactive to the primal wound to make truly objective choices. Relationships and/ or the financial situation will not be of help, and may actually distract us or put us on what we’ll later consider ‘the wrong track’. The answer may be to wait to make any significant choices; currently our fears or the influences of others or our ongoing situation are too strongly felt to be removed from any equation, and so may exert more pull on our decisions than we realize. Have the courage to say, “I don’t know”, “Not yet”, and “We’ll see”. (Perfecting today: Pallas semi-square Zeus, Venus opposed Vesta, Mercury trine Vesta and square Chiron)

18 May we may feel highly inventive and original in areas of Love, relationships, or in ways to earn, but we resist sharing our ideas, and with good reason: those in power are listening, ‘ears to ground’, as they say, looking for an opportunity outside the current structure. Though that may seem like it offers the perfect chance for mutual benefit, the thing you need to know about those in charge is that they’re not looking for collaborators. Nurture your uniqueness, your ideas, and your ability to innovate in private, with an agenda of considering how you might alter the existing structure in a way that conveys the power directly to you. (Perfecting today: Venus square Jupiter and parallel Uranus, Mercury trine Ceres and quincunx Saturn, the Sun quincunx the North Node)
