The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘A Group of Rabbits Dressed In Human Clothes Walk As If On Parade’ This may speak of a general circumstance that has been revealed for what it truly is by the Full Moon, specifically of elements of the animal nature that ‘play’ to sophistication and a ‘civilized’ display but that are shown, indeed, to be in reality the instinctive, animal nature, contained and garbed as if it is something it’s not. This may hint at the primal depths that we may touch at this time, and may serve to re-connect us with both our instincts and the ways we can successfully contain and use these in social interaction. We come out the ‘other side’ of this Full Moon both significantly healed and significantly enlightened as to our own depths, with a ‘new’ and more advanced way of dealing with hurt, strife, and sadness.

‘Well, Millstone, and Cistern Under Trees’ Cezanne c1870 {{PD-Art}}

The Full Moon arrives at 12:48PM PDT of the 29th at 6 Taurus 47. Commentary on the meaning of the Full Moon is from the latest issue of ECLIPSE; this particular excerpt discusses the Sabian symbol for the meeting of Moon and Earth:

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘The Woman of Samaria at the Ancestral Well’. In the New Testament of the Bible, this is the woman who goes to the well as Jesus sits near it, and since he has no equipment with which to reach into the well and pull up water, he asks her for a drink. Apparently this surprises her, as the Jews and the Samaritans did not at that time interact; they begin a conversation, where Jesus talks of the power of knowing God as water, and famously tells her that if she drinks from the well, she’ll be thirsty again, while if she drinks in the spiritual sense, she’ll never thirst again. It’s notable, though, that she’s only convinced that Jesus knows what he’s talking about when he speaks of her 5 previous husbands, and that she lives now with a man she’s not married to–then she declares Jesus a prophet. She knows of the prophecy of the Messiah who will be called the Christ, and Jesus declares himself to be this figure. The suggestion may be that in some way we are, at this Full Moon, the woman of Samaria in spirit, lead to spiritual enlightenment (and this is not specifically a Christian enlightenment–I’m simply playing off the symbol and the story) by someone we would not usually encounter or have an exchange with, who ‘sees’ into us in a way we don’t think is possible, and who in some way acts as a spiritual example for us.

Take that next step, even if it’s a baby one!’First Steps, After Millet’ Van Gogh 1890 or before {{PD-Art}}

The Full Moon Arrives at 8:18 PM PDT on the 29th of September at 7 Aries 22

The Full Moon turns like a stagehand manning the Klieg lights and shines back on aspects already perfected in her travels. It’s like an echo made of light, drawing our attention back to matters we thought already dismissed. The Full Moon is of course conjunct Earth, still conjunct Uranus and square Pluto, and is also semi-sextile Chiron. This set-up pulls the mental and emotional concerns of earlier in the evening (Pacific time) into the material realm, and we are either injured by this, or we bring forward skills to deal with it successfully. The sense is of a culmination that requires us to go a step further with some conflict, confrontation, or innovation/ idea that recently came to a head. Things will not be complete until we have taken this last, physical step–and if we don’t we will likely injure our own creative sensibilities (Chiron in Pisces).

This is from the latest ECLIPSE; to see it all, please subscribe! I’m extending the offer of 2 FREE extra months added to any subscription through 1 October–so what are you waiting for?

A Little Astro Essence + the Aquarius Full Moon: ‘A Quiet Inspiration’

For today:

Prior to 5 PM PDT the Moon trines Vesta, finds herself at the midpoint of Pluto-Chiron, and sextiles Uranus. This may be like a small bomb going off, with emotional expression of our principles creating a minor firestorm. This almost certainly takes the form of words spoken or thoughts shared, with the Moon in Aquarius and Vesta in Gemini, but abrupt action may follow that changes the landscape significantly, so take special care with what you say, and what you share (it’s a poem!)

And about that Full Moon:

The Aquarius Full Moon arrives at 8:28 PM Pacific time of August 1 at 10 Aquarius 15

Keeping our usual strict 2 degree orb for aspects made by the Full Moon as it melds with Earth, we see sextiles to Uranus and Pallas in Aries, and trines to Vesta and Jupiter in Gemini. So much flowing energy fixes the Aquarian Full Moon in a constructive atmosphere of originality, wisdom, ‘right’ values, and a positive place in the social order. We are being given the gift of understanding (an Aquarian strength) of how we fit in, how we should think of our place (Gemini) and what we should do (Aries). The Sabian gives us an image upon which to draw: ‘During a Silent Hour, a Man Receives a New Inspiration Which May Change His Life’ We are shown an image that we may at first assume applies to the individual during meditation, and his or her receipt of, in essence, a ‘new spirit’ that directs him or her down a new life path, and this would not be wrong–that indeed may be the case for many, stilling the mind and finding the answers within–but this may for others represent finding a literal quiet spot, and in this retreat, something is introduced into one’s sphere that has a life altering effect. You may not see a great deal of difference between the two, but we are noting the difference between an inner solution, and one that may quite literally drop into one’s lap.

There’s more where that came from! All the above is from the newsletter. Order ECLIPSE and get a (usually) weekly dose of articles, thought, commentary, and aspect and Lunar analysis. Go ahead, it’s only $5 per month! And many Thanks to those who have!

In case you missed it, I will not be posting on the blog 3-23 August–so if you want your daily fix, get the newsletter! All other services (private clients and sales/ subscriptions) will continue as usual. Yes, give me my fix!

The Capricorn Full Moon 3 July 2012: ‘A Litmus Test of Our Ambitions’

Thanks, NASA!

The Capricorn Full Moon: A Litmus Test of Our Ambitions

The Capricorn Full Moon drops into our laps at 11:51 AM PDT of the 3rd of July at 12 Capricorn 13, and oh, following our rule of 2 (and sometimes 3) degree orbs only, we find a single, striking aspect: the Sun-Moon-Earth axis makes a Cardinal T-square with asteroid Zeus–and that’s it.

The Sabian for the Moon-Earth is, ‘A Fire Worshipper Meditates on the Ultimate Realities of Existence’

What we are faced with at the Capricorn Full Moon is a culmination concerning fulfilling our ambitions or desires; the Full Moon shows us either the dilemma we will face if they are granted, or the internal conflict in which we will be embroiled if we do not see them succeed. We are the Fire Worshipper of the image, superstitiously believing that action (Fire) is all that’s required–but we are left pondering the true complexity of things in the results that manifest. Getting our ambitions fulfilled causes us to think about how the Universe works, and what is the point of existence, as does not getting our desires met. Either way, we may be faced with wondering what it’s all for–which should make us question the importance of those ambitions, after all.

Your Weekend 4-6 May 2012 + the Full Scorpio Moon: ‘Pregnant With Possibility’

Portrait of a Pregnant Woman (Maria Leopoldine, Archduchesse of Austria) by Lippi 1649 {{PD-Art}}

All material is excerpted from ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest; order here for the complete daily aspect and Lunar picture, and more (this week it’s an article about career and success markers, and a short bit on exhaltations). For Friday the 4th we have:

Just after noon Pacific time the Moon quincunxes Pallas; this could bring forward a round of Self-questioning, or inquiries from the partner, and either situation could shake our confidence in our own good judgment. As long as you can discern an emotional component to your thinking, there’s nothing to worry about, but if this is actually an intuition . . . then you’d better examine what you’re accepting as ‘wisdom’ long and hard.

Void begins at 1:34 PM PDT; the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:19 PM PDT, which just so happens to be the minute that the Sun reaches exactly 15 degrees of Taurus and the Earth does likewise in Scorpio.

For Saturday, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio:

The Full Moon arrives at 8:35 PM PDT of the 5th at 16 Scorpio 01: ‘Pregnant With Possibility’

This Scorpio Full Moon is without aspect to any other body under our consideration; this puts the search for meaning in two spots: the signs involved in the Sun/ Moon opposition, and in the Sabian Symbols for the degrees of Sun and Moon/ Earth.

The Sabian Symbol for Moon/ Earth is ‘A Woman, Fecundated By Her Own Spirit, Is ‘Great With Child’. This brings emphasis to the potentials of the Scorpio spiritual orientation and the idea that one can quite literally inspire a new beginning within oneself. This is a kind of immaculate conception that draws on our own Soul to fertilize the creative possibilities within the Self and conceive and gestate a new venture or creation, a new thing brought into being from the seed of spirit entering that fertile ground of Beingness.

And for Sunday the 6th:

at 5:30 AM PDT, the Moon forms the apex of a loose Finger of God, with wide base of Mercury/ Venus. This suggests that, in the midst of the emotional no-man’s-land, we could receive some cogent messages concerning relationships or finances–oy! The solution may be found in the nature of the Scorpio Moon; if we can let the info in without having to process it right away, we may have it for later conscious consideration, while receiving unconsciously reassurance about a Venusian subject. A neat trick, if we can pull it off.

If you’d like all the details for the Full Moon and the coming week, then subscribe! It’s only $5 per month for effective, detailed daily guidance.

The Full Moon in Libra occurs at 12:18 PM PDT today, the 6th, at 17 Libra 23. Here’s what I think the Sabian for this Moon/ Earth point says (quoted from ECLIPSE): “‘Two Men Placed Under Arrest’ I see this as two animus-oriented impulses within us that must be stopped; doing is no longer the answer, it’s not even a catch-all to guarantee progress at something. What we do now must be meaningful, and it must carry both our ambitions and our philosophy forward.”

Full Moon in Virgo 8 March 2012: ‘The Coming-of-Age Moon’

All the while I was growing up, visiting the Taj Mahal was a goal; so far, still unfulfilled. 'Taj Mahal by Moonlight' Bartlett 1923 {{PD-Art}}

The Full Moon arrives on the 8th at 1:38 AM Pacific time at 18 Virgo 13. Using our strict 2 degree rule, the Full Moon itself only makes one aspect, a quincunx to Ceres, linking this culmination to harvest, both through Virgo and through the asteroid of nature and nurture. We reap what we’ve sown, plain and simple.

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘A Swimming Race’ We couldn’t have it laid out more cleanly: we find out who won, in whatever venue we have been running a race, but likely connected in some way to the House axis across which this Full Moon lies. We also look at the Sun for a Full Moon: ‘A Master Instructing His Disciple’ This suggests the possibility that the ‘race’ in question is one we have been running with someone close to us, a ‘student’ or our own mentor. It may be time for the student to surpass the teacher, the one who was learning to now teach–in any case it suggests a change in roles that is solid, permanent, and that signifies new duties for all involved. The contact to Ceres links this very strongly to changes in authority, and possibly territory and responsibility, with overtones that what occurs here is an ancient story, the way of nature, or, to get all Disney on you, the circle of life 🙂

Full Moon 7 February 2012: ‘The Revelatory Moon’

07 Tuesday Feb 2012

astrology, Full Moon, Moon in Leo, My Daily Astrology Diary, The Astro Essence

'Happiness' by Julio Romero de Torres {{PD-Art}}

We start with the Full Moon of February 7th at 1:53 PM PST at 18 Leo 31 ‘The Revelatory Moon’. This Full Moon brings to a conclusion a period of communication–we can look back and know a statement has been made, quite definitively, and that there’s no more to be said about it (Moon/ Earth opposed Mercury, which is just past exact Superior Conjunction with the Sun). This is the only major aspect, with all other contacts more than 3 degrees away, but we do have a minor contact, a sesquiquadrate of Moon/ Earth to Uranus. This suggests that the culmination involving information, messages, communication, or travel/ transportation will be shocking or surprising, certainly not what we anticipated, or may encapsulate an innovative, electrifying, or original idea, that is now fully formed and ready to be acted upon (though we may not be ready to act, considering the current retrograde of Mars). So, this Full Moon in Leo brings a kind of enlightenment through information or ideas, and this is directly related either to our identity, our Life Path, or some core component of the Soul and its intents.

I’m aware that this is an awfully broad message, and though for some this will be clear in an instant, for most it will take some divining. Look to the natal House axis across which this lies; a selection of the matters of these Houses will be involved in a revelatory tango (or perhaps a winner-takes-all gunfight!) This is Fire and Air facing off, and one thing I know thanks to Mars retro, we want  Air (Aquarius, the position of Sun and Mercury) to win. We don’t want to get all fired up and do–that could bring regret and circumstances that must, eventually be re- (or un-) done; what we want is the inspiration of Fire, the mind and heart alight with it, and our thoughts imbued with that passion. Then we can plan in a way that will insure deep satisfaction on enacting our intentions; for the present, though, we want the mind and its ability to control to prevail.

To see it all, please subscribe–thanks!

Gemini Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse 10 December 2011: ‘The Game’

'Card Game' Rombouts {{PD-Art}}

The 10th sees a Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) at 18 Gemini 10 at 6:35 AM PST (with the eclipse following soon thereafter). Using our strict 2 degree orb, we have only two aspects, to Venus and Ceres, aside from the opposition to the Sun, but we’ll be adding a third in a bit (available in the newsletter)–first, let’s look at these strongly female-oriented energies as they connect to a ‘moment of completion’ involving a principle symbol of woman, the Moon. This suggests a culmination point of immense  power, as the Earth, balanced exactly between Moon and Sun in alignment, blocks the Sun from offering light to the Moon–and thus the Moon cannot perform her usual reflective function. She is prevented from her usual method of taking in animus light and shining it back into the Universe. Receptivity involves being open and willing to take in another’s assertive (animus) energy as one’s own; it’s a stance that requires a certain ability to put the Self to the side and use one’s own energy to support another–but what does the Moon do when she is not receiving the light of the dominant Sun?

Our clue is in the aspects this Full Moon/ eclipse makes; the energies it touches tell us the character the Full Moon will adopt when her typical way of relating is unavailable to her. The quincunx to Venus says that relationships, assets, or finances must be adjusted to the circumstances presented at the Full Moon; the square to Ceres says that authorities may be involved, but in particular, one’s own authority may be tested, perhaps in a contest between those ‘in charge’ and ourselves. But, when we consider that the Moon, a normally nurture and maternally focused energy, is in a tense situation with Ceres, a light bulb may go on: our maternal role, instincts, nurture function, or relationship to external maternal energies may present a conflict (the square) with another entity’s instinctive, maternal, or power role that is a culmination of some situation, likely long-brewing, over territory, responsibility, or influence. By removing, in a sense, the influence of the Solar orb, Moon/ Ceres energies that might typically be overshadowed by assertive ones can come out to play–if we can consider some serious sorting out of power positions a game!

All the above is from the newsletter. To see the material on that third, slightly larger orbed aspect, and to read about the Sabians for this Full Moon/ Eclipse, please subscribe, or try ECLIPSE by purchasing a single, current issue, which contains the Full Moon analysis, here–Thanks!
