Just before 5 AM PST the Capricorn Moon trines Mars, and it may be very easy to accomplish–the Moon and Mars co-operate in Earth, and we can make sizable headway at this time.

Just before noon the Moon trines Sedna, and ‘I don’t know how I feel!’ becomes the refrain. Don’t fight it–it’s a time to just let things slide, and don’t work to pinpoint feelings–they are slippery things that will not be caged at this point.

The Weekend Lunar Essence 10-12 February 2012: ‘Wake Up & Smell the Coffee!’

For Friday the 10th:

Coming up on 5 PM Pacific the Libra Moon opposes Venus and quincunxes Jupiter. Someone may try to claim territory that common sense says really can’t be claimed as theirs alone; we want to co-operate, they want to bully–but they miscalculate. Quietly stand your ground–the social sphere adjusts its thinking to us (for once), and we cut (or don’t even experience) any losses.

For Saturday the 11th:

11:30 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Zeus, making us one with our ambition and desire state–and probably launching a search (even if it’s only a speculative ‘what if?’) for a partner, personal or business.

And for Sunday the 12th:

12:30 AM PST the Moon poses as apex to a Finger of God with base of Sedna/ Vesta. We lose sight of what is sacred to us, of the importance of home and our intimate relationship, and yet somehow this has a positive, freeing effect that allows the emotional perceptions or the intuition to function effectively in these very same areas. It’s like the usual filters we apply to these subjects are removed, and we get a fresh look at them all. A very good aspect.

12:30 PM PST the Moon conjuncts Saturn, bringing emotional awareness to our reality. May result in a review of how we feel about ‘what is’ right now, and could light up limitations and those things that make us safe, and show us the difference between the two. Moon enters the Void at 1:09 PM PST; the Moon enters Scorpio at 2:01 PM.

Just after 5 PM PST the Scorpio Moon quincunxes Uranus, shaking it up, but gently–could be a matter of ‘Wake up and smell the coffee!’which we’re glad for, as it keeps us from an emotional misstep in the near future.

9 PM PST the Moon opposes Jupiter and trines Chiron, bringing forward a dissonance with the social sphere that actually provides an opening for healing. As long as we are willing to take that step back from the social order, the mending will take care of itself.

'The Flirtation' Leo Gestel c1910 {{PD-Art}}

For the 4th:

3:30 AM PST the Cancer Moon trines Chiron and sextiles Jupiter. Feeling gets big, and the only question is whether we’ll choose love, let it envelope us, and achieve significant healing, or whether we’ll choose anti-love, and wound or be wounded. This may involve the social sphere, but will definitely involve our issues with nurture and sustenance. Could bring up episodes for binge eaters, anorexics, and others who ask food to stand in for relatives (I’m not getting judge-y, here–let’s face it, almost every one of us has some issue with food–I can’t think of anyone I’ve ever known who doesn’t!) This will just be a difficult transit, in some respect, large or small, for everyone. And sleepers, watch your dreams for love and nurture issue content.

7:30 AM PST the Moon squares Ceres. Allergic reactions, and not just to the environment or food; difficult feelings about authority figures, Mom, and our relationship to nature all come forward. This is all-of-a-piece with the previous Chiron/ Jupiter upset. Should pinpoint for us those things we typically successfully repress or deny in our Ceres interactions that is really festering and should be attended to.

And for the 5th:

3 PM PST sees the Moon at the midpoint of Sedna and Mars–that’s like being caught at the crossroads of ‘I don’t know’ Lane and ‘Hurry the Hell Up!’ Boulevard. The emotions are likely in such conflict (and conflict we cannot sort out or even identify the source of) that we are likely to experience all manner of disruption of anything that involves the emotions or that requires decisive action. Oy.

Midnight the Moon trines Venus. Finally some relief, though for Air-types things may get a little cloying, and for Earth-types a little muddy, all in the course of dealing with a wave of emotional expression that for everyone should let off some pressure. Thank goodness.

Toulouse-Lautrec 1890 {{PD-Art}}

From the newsletter:

The 28th brings Merc square Jupiter, Earth quincunx Pluto, and the Sun sesquiquadrate Mars. This is a formula for discord and conflict, where everyone is to some extent uncomfortable. Communications come across as exaggerated or bragging, the social arena reacts poorly to what’s put out, we are unhappy with material circumstances and wish for change, and our need for action is illuminated and yet we are critical of any possible course we could take. Believing that action is a necessity is the big mistake; with our thoughts and energy tied up in conflict, there’s no way we can see clearly what to do. Despite what likely felt like extraordinary ‘luck’  we experienced yesterday, we are just not in the same position today–and need to accept that, and hang back a bit.

And the Lunar outlook for Sunday, the 29th:

6 AM PST the Moon quincunxes retro Mars. This may be the big kick-off to our personal efforts to remedy actions we think we got wrong in the pre-retro period.

Noonish the Aries Moon sextiles Pallas, giving us a little shot of common sense and smarts–we’ll know it wasn’t a good idea to do that Aries Moon-type thing (maybe getting emotionally aggressive, all up in one’s grill with our feelings-ouch!)

Just after 8 PM PST the Moon opposes Saturn and sextiles Neptune. What a combination!! We throw off all constraints and let our imaginations lead–the atmosphere is tense, with all at 29 degrees (perhaps imparting a feeling that we must do ‘it’!) and we have no idea where this will take us, as we proceed into the Void at 10:10 PM Pacific time–the only thing we can count on is that each individual will be an individual, and very very Willful. Good luck!

Moon enters Taurus at 10:28 PM PST.

The New Moon of 22 January 2012: ‘The Forgiveness Moon’

Marszewski 1864 {{PD-Art}}

From the newsletter:

The New Moon was at 11:38 PM PST at 2 Aquarius 41. This Moon marks the Chinese New Year, as it’s always timed to the first New Moon in Aquarius; I think of it as a second, mini-New Year, with all the ‘fresh start’ potential brought forward for secondses–it’s a point where we can refine our New Year beginnings, and this is a helpful point of view for those who tend to overreach in the resolution department, or who carry too high an expectation for instant renovation and renewal. I think, then, that we should call this ‘The Forgiveness Moon’, with the emphasis on being understanding of ourselves.

The New Moon makes a semi-sextile to Chiron and a sextile to Uranus and Ceres, which are now conjunct. The NM touches Jupiter by square, reflecting the one area of discord in our scenario. The overall picture is of inceptions that are unique personal power expressions, a direct manifestation of the authority one holds and the individuality at its most characteristic, and these may hurt us (either treading on the primal wound, or injuring via the feedback we receive from the social arena) or call forth our unique skills keyed to our Chiron energies, offering healing to others (and the Self through expression)–and maybe both of these effects, hurt and healing expression, show up at once. The location of the NM in Aquarius, plus the way the Chiron contact is minor (and thus signaling that it’s more a side effect of the NM event, rather than a focus) tells us that the intellect will be stimulated, that this is likely the spark point of ideas (Aquarius) that become action that epitomizes each of us as individuals (Aries). We can think of this energy as creating an exciting new activity or action that may cause some blowback from our social circle (and this could have material repercussions, or could simply reflect envy–Jupiter in Taurus) but that will be a perfect and original expression of who we are.

Just a Little Weekend Lunar Essence 21-22 January 2012: ‘Magic Touch’

'Fish magic' by one of my favorites, Paul Klee 1925 {{PD-Art}}

For the 21st: 4 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Pluto. The emotions run deep, intense, and can be plumbed in such a way that they can be re-invigorated and rejuvenated–we come out the other side of this transit renewed, if we don’t fall to our own temptation to be overly critical, which only makes us want to destroy our ‘bad’ feelings (either ‘forbidden’ ones or ones that literally make us feel bad!) Don’t trash anything at this time–even the basic framework of our lives is threatened, by none other than ourselves, fueled by discomfiting emotion–channel the energy into transformation–you can call the shots on change and do it your way at this time. It’s particularly important that you take care in wielding this energy as there is a simultaneous sextile Moon to Venus that endangers what we care about, as well as our resources–there’s a real danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater–so don’t! If you’re not happy with your financial or love situation, though, you can make changes at this point that can make a difference, if not felt immediately, then very soon thereafter.

For the 22nd: 3 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Mercury. There’s no mistaking that communications are firmly related to the reality picture at this time; they may, however, give us the idea that things are more restricted and grim than they really are. Too much focus on ‘what is’, rules and regulations, and the reality of things in the now can quash our dreams. Take a step back and regard reality with a jaded eye, knowing that what you don’t see is just as important.

Just post 5 PM PST the Moon squares Saturn and semi-sextiles Neptune, offering a reality check and the imagination-power to re-create anything we aren’t happy with more to our liking. We have a kind of ‘Magic Touch’ at this time–use it! Void begins (relative to Saturn, not Neptune) at 5:39 PM PST; the Moon enters Aquarius at 6:53 PM PST.

Venus to Chiron: ‘I Love You, It Hurts!’

Venus may laugh at us, if we take our Chirotic wounds too seriously right now. WP Firth 1852 century {{PD-Art}}

This is a good representation of the mini-essays on aspects, planet and asteroid ingresses, and configurations that can be found in ECLIPSE. To subscribe, go here–and Thanks!

Love meets the primal wound, and offers both healing and, to those so inclined, the temptation to treasure the wound–we can see what it’s worth, and it will take a brave individual to set that material for manipulation aside and apply the Venusian balm. Too, Venus may bring Love to that Chirotic skill or gift–and prompt its sharing with others, bringing Chiron in practice to a new, transpersonal level of expression (at least temporarily). Depending on our own typical viewpoint, we may at this time credit relationships with being a major source of pain, see relationship as the only thing that can heal us (and thus become a tad desperate or demanding), view love, money, or our own talents as the only thing that can heal our hurt, or see any or all of these as perpetual sources of wounding, playing into the primal hurt and seeing our opportunity for love, money, or reward as swallowed by our injury. The Pisces placement brings up the possibility that we may project our hurt, or our ability to heal, on the Collective, and make others responsible for what happens in our personal situation–better to see that our pain is not unique (an immature Chiron can sometimes persuade us that we are the only ones who’ve experienced such profound injury), that indeed we share our wounded nature with all others–and that this commonality should lighten our load considerably, as we realize that these wounds have been handled and healed by many many people throughout time–and so there’s a good chance that we may heal, too.

Venus, of course, is playful, and wants to enjoy life; if we take our wounds too seriously, insisting that a good time is unavailable because we must take time to suffer, we may get a surprise, in the form of a desired or desirable person or object that will not play the game, who instead takes our pain lightly–and with good reason, as acceptance of a Venusian lighter attitude would (at least in the moment) soothe, and heal, at least a little bit. We may also make the enormous mistake of seeing Love as the wounding agent itself; if we do, we should realize that this suggests what we are calling Love is not really Love at all, for real Love cannot harm–and so we may want to redefine a mislabeled action or feeling. This all kicks up on the 15th.

Depiction of an 1871 battle at Pere-Lachaise cemetery in Paris, burial place of Chopin, Pissarro, Proust, and Door Jim Morrison, among others. Philippoteaux {{PD-Art}}

2 AM PST the Moon opposes Ceres–here the emotions may push us to contradict or confront a maternal energy, or an authority who demands acquiescence or negotiation (the latter for what we likely feel are our rights!) Just know that you will not change this person’s mind; they believe in their own authority, and their right to be an authority over you. Stick to the facts and insist that others do so, if you want to actively maintain your autonomy.

4 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Neptune, suggesting that we modify our feeling in order to deal with illusion, deception offered, or delusion, all likely of an intellectual nature. Imagine an encounter where someone tries to persuade you of something by appealing to the logic and reason of the intellect–and yet does not embrace fact or make sense! Clear thinking will help you navigate this, along with a willingness to see what’s really in front of you.

Void begins at 4:15 AM PST; the Moon enters Libra at 5:28 AM PST. First aspect is the Moon quincunx Venus; we may be wondering how our emotional perceptions varied so much from our concept of love, and we are reminded of how to put the relationship right again. The dissonance came about through the petty narrowing of focus that it’s easy to fall into when working things out with others (Libra)–now we are re-focused on the Love principle, with positive results. This is the start of a Finger of God with base of Venus/ Jupiter, apex of Moon, that suggests taking a more Universal approach (Pisces) on the social scene (Jupiter) may be the key to emotional fulfillment in relationship at this time, with Taurus implying a material, nurturing, or artistic component to the equation.

Remember, effects stretch about 4 hours either side of exact (with times listed here being close to, but typically just before, perfection). To see more, please subscribe! And please see the post for the 13th if you’re interested in services–I’m almost totally booked–thanks!  BOOKED OUT FOR THIS SESSION–THANK YOU!

The Cancer Full Moon of 8 January 2012: ‘A Wedding’

'Choosing the Wedding Gown' Goldsmith c1840 {{PD-Art}}

This is from the Full Moon report available in the newsletter–to see it all, please subscribe!

Cancer Full Moon at 11:29 PM Pacific time on January 8th at 18 Cancer 25

The only aspect is a quincunx to Pallas. Without other significant input, this Full Moon may bring its great, shining luminosity to bear on that single relationship, exaggerating what should be a call to adjustment until it feels like a full-blown emergency centered on our ability to exercise good judgment. The Sabian may help: ‘A Priest Performing a Marriage Ceremony’ We have few bigger points in life at which we must exercise good judgment than the one(s) at which we choose the life partner; the question then becomes (for I’m assuming that for the vast majority of us, this is not literal) to what am I marrying myself, that I should perhaps understand more about? The fact that the aspect of Moon/ Earth to Pallas is a quincunx alerts us to the need for adjustment or modification, so that when we see the Sabian we know that there is a union in the offing that needs, in some important way, to be altered (no church pun intended!)

Look to the House in the natal chart where the Full Moon falls for clues as to the life arenas where you are merging with something that definitely needs your attention; the promise is that you will find something that needs correction or modification–and that this will likely bring the ‘wedding’ successfully to fulfillment.

The rest of the report is available in the newsletter–I value what I do, and I hope you do, too–that’s why it’s only $5 per month, affordable and informative!

The material for the rest of today from the Lunar Picture on the Protected Page is presented here as a courtesy to my subscribers, some of whom have not been able to get to the page due to a widespread WordPress problem. Sorry!

Just after 9 AM PST the Moon trines Saturn, making it very easy for us to get into the reality swim of things. This supports constructive action, as the emotions and intuition aid and generally (barring personal aspects that contradict) allowing us some extra clear vision, and in this case, bringing us co-operation (Libra).

The contact to Saturn also begins a swift Grand Trine of Moon, Saturn, and Neptune. This opens a ‘dream time’ where emotional cues can guide our material choices and actions and help us very accurately materialize a dream or two. By 11 AM Pacific the Moon opposes Mercury in the 29th degree; can you say unhappy? Not with what we’ve been pulling from our creative within and bringing into the world–that birthing is going just fine–it will be feedback we get from without, from those who aren’t really involved but who decide to lob a critical grenade, anyway. Pay no attention–their words hold something you can learn from (maybe just that such opinion tossing isn’t flattering for the speaker!) but their critique of your attempts and actions is not worth your time :)

Void begins 11:53 AM PST; the Moon enters Cancer at 1:05 PM PST. Right away the Moon squares Uranus and sextiles Jupiter, making for a ‘Big Picture’ viewpoint that is focused through the individuality urge–and so very Self-concerned. This may draw criticism. One of the down sides of a Cancer Moon is that the atmosphere becomes very caring–and woe unto those who don’t care the way others do! It can be a very judgmental influence, and anyone with any untargeted assertive energy is liable to use love or caring as a gentle bludgeon. Just be prepared, and don’t let that be you.

5 PM PST the Moon trines Chiron–take advantage of the healing available, possibly through emotional sharing, through intuitive knowing, or from the Collective.

This takes us through 2 AM tomorrow when the Moon opposes Pluto–and hopefully WordPress will have resolved the access issue by then! Thank you for your patience–I know I don’t have any! jd
